If Google chat can be integrated over http:80 seamlessly in the gmail interface in Chrome, why can't Messenger? Is it a play on Microsoft's part to prevent novice users from moving away from IE?

I have a friend who uses a Mac, and was wondering if there is a version of Windows Live Messenger for Mac? Or something comparable that uses/takes advantage of the Windows LIVE ID? I'm interested in recommendations, as well as "is there a Mac version of Live Messenger?

I'll bullet point things of note:
Other accounts work on the same machine.
This is a problem across a few machines.
I can sign in no problem on some machines.
I can use Web Messenger on the problem machines.
I'm using the latest version of Messenger.

Every now and then wlcomm.exe will start using all the available CPU. It will keep using it until I kill the process. Google couldn't tell me much about why this is happening. wlcomm.exe is the 'windows live communication platform'. I have to use live messenger at work.
How can I stop this happening?

Yesterday I installed Fedora 15 Beta with GNOME 3 - it works well. One problem though is that I installed Chrome 32-bit (which was wrong, should have been the 64-bit version) and now I can't uninstall it.
I can't find it in Add/Remove Software, and I also can't install the correct version of Chrome…

I downloaded latest version of google chrome and then tried to install it. However it gave me errors. I searched through the net and noticed that most of the people's problem solved when they installed missing dependecies. Therefore I tried to install them too but seems like it does not work.

I used to use google chrome as default browser. One day I tried to use Google Cast extension to send my browser screen to chromecast, but I realized that my Chrome version was old. So I downloaded the debian package from google web site, but I ran on a dependency failure:
