Photoshop and Saving Quality

I'm making a simple image for the web which is a gradient with some text on in Photoshop CS4.

The text doesn't seem to be of a great quality.

If you look at the logo of stackoverflow you can see that its pretty accurate. Mine don't seem to render properly round the edges.

Anyone know how to get the best quality?

Photoshop CS4.
