When i enter a contact in iNotes in what database they are going and can i access them from native Notes Client ?

I am looking for a programatic way to access content in a Lotus Notes database (.nsf file) without having Lotus Notes software installed.
Python would be preferred but I'm also willing to look at other languages e.g. C/C++ or other means e.g. SQL

I'm having issues to extract inline images that are pasted in the email body if the emails are sent from external email(like gmail for example) into the Lotus notes.
The emails which are sent from Lotus Notes itself has no issues and I'm able to retrieve the inline images by using the document.generateXML()…
