What are the benefits/consequences of compiling an armv7 only architecture?

In compiling iPhone apps, there is a setting for "Optimized" architecture (armv7 only) vs a standard armv6/armv7 architecture.

What are the benefits/consequences of compiling an armv7 only architecture?
