I have hosted my site in a shared environment.

Recently for security reasons the hosting company has disabled socket functions.

When i enquired them they said that they will enable to people who personally request for that option.

And they said it is a matter of 2 minutes work and asked for my control panel username and password.

They said that it is just updating the php.ini for my account.

So i want to know how to do it myself. If that could be done by them in 2 minutes then why cant a developer.

I asked them but they mumbled... saying not to give trouble to me.

so i want to know how to edit php.ini or something like stated above

my hosting is using cPanel control panel.

suggestions please.
