I just installed Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on my laptop, it connects to my wireless network and shows that it is connected, but when I try to load a webpage or do anything like download Steam for Dota 2, it doesn't work. When I try to connect my Facebook account to Ubuntu, it doesn't work. I want to be able to use Ubuntu with working internet access. What do I do?.

ifconfig

this shows up

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 88:ae:1d:60:56:eb

When I type

ping askubuntu.com

this shows up

ping: unknown host askubuntu.com
