Python Regular Expression TypeError

I am writing my first python program and I am running into a problem with regex. Hi, I have the following code in my project`s lib directory module Pasta module ClassMethods def self.has_coordinates self.send :include, InstanceMethods end end module InstanceMethods def coordinates [longitude ||= 43.0, latitude ||= 25.0] end end ActiveRecord::Base.extend ClassMethods end And it should create a class method for ActiveRecord::Base - has_coordinates - which I can "assign" to models... Identifying voice as male or female

I'm not much into audio engineering, so please be easy on me. I'm receiving an audio file as input, and need to detect whether the speaker is male or female. Any ideas how to go about doing this? I'm using php, but am open to using other languages, and don't mind learning a little bit of sound theory as long as the time is proportionate to the task.

problem reading a csv file in python

Hi, I am trying to read a very simple but somehow large(800Mb) csv file using the csv library in python. The delimiter is a single tab and each line consists of some numbers. Each line is a record, and I have 20681 rows in my file. I had some problems during my calculations using this file,it always stops at a certain row. I got suspicious about the number of rows in the file.I used the code below to count the number of row in this file: tfdf_Reader = csv.reader(open('v2-host_tfdf_en.txt'),delimiter=' ') c = 0 for row in tfdf_Reader: c = c + 1 print c To my surprise c is printed with the value of 61722!!! Why is this happening? What am I doing wrong?

Couldn't run loadjava on user schema to load dbwsclientws.jar dbwsclientdb102.jar

I am trying to load oracle webservice client jars to my schema. I did set the PATH to inlcude: /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/bin When I try to run loadjava as "loadjava -u myschema/myscehmapwd -r -v -f -genmissing dbwsclientws.jar dbwsclientdb102.jar" I am getting error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/aurora/server/tools/loadjava/LoadJavaMain. Does it mean that jvm is not setup on the box? How can I check if the jvm is enabled or not? I am running it on Oracle 10g in UNIX environment. Any help with the issue is greatly appreciated.

LINQ. Grouping by days. How to do this easily?

I can't seem to find any god reference on this. I have alot of data in SQL with dates. So I wanted to make a line chart to show this data over time. If I want to show it over a perioud of days then I need to group by days.. But the LOGDATE is the full date.. not the DAY.. So I have this below.. but LINQ doesnt know what 'DayOfYear' property is.. Jython project in Eclipse can't find the Jython library, but works in an identical project

I have two projects in Eclipse with Java and Python code, using Jython. Also I'm using PyDev. One project can import and use the xml module just fine, and the other gives the error ImportError: No module named xml. As far as I can tell, all the project properties are set identically. The working project was created from scratch and the other comes from code checked out of an svn repository and put into a new project. What could be the difference?

flex Dictionary dataProvider?

I have a Dictionary that I'd like to bind as the dataProvider for an mx:ComboBox. e.g., when I do this: mydict[somenewkey]= somenewval; I'd like the combobox to update its contents. The problem is that Dictionary doesn't seem to be Bindable. If I were using an Array, I'd use ArrayCollection. But there doesn't seem to be a corresponding DictionaryCollection or HashCollection. What to do?

Continuous Flash music player while navigating site

I have a site that includes a Flash music player integrated into the layout. I want users to be able to navigate around the site without interrupting the music. I've done plenty of research and thinking and the following are the options I came up with (keeping in mind I want to be as SEO friendly as possible). Anyone have another idea? AJAX: I set up a version that changes the main content div to whatever nav link they click, thereby not interrupting the Flash player. I set it up in the proper search-engine-friendly manner with direct links and JQuery/Ajax functions. If someone goes to site.com/ and clicks the Contact nav link, it loads what's in the main content div on site.com/contact.php into the main content div and changes the URL bar to site.com/#Contact. The same goes for if they go to site.com/contact.php and click About in the nav, it loads the About content and changes the URL bar to site.com/contact.php#About. Obviously this opens up a whole new can of worms with AJAX and hash navigation/history issues, and I would end up with people possibly linking to things like site.com/contact.php#About (which I think looks terrible and can't be too great for SEO). Store the Flash player vars somewhere and reload them with the page: I'm not sure how to go about this, but I thought about keeping my regular navigation without AJAX and have it so when a user clicks a nav link, before it changes pages it stores the Flash player vars (current song and song position) somewhere, then loads them into Flash when the new page loads. Something with an iframe? Good alternative to a Flash player that will work for this type of application? Thanks!

A fast way to get Reporting Services local site working?

Hello I was here trying to figure out why my Reports manager is empty, there's no tabs at all. I installed SQL Server 2008 complete, but didn't not configure Reporting Services. When installing SQL Server 2008, this Windows 7 version didn't have yet IIS installed, I installed it later. I don't see where is this localhost/Reports physically on my Hard Drive, where is the physic folder? I don't see on IIS where is Report folder, would it exist? The site settings people talk about, I can't find it. The "Reporting Services" service is running on automatic at SQL Server Configuration Manager. How can I get Reporting Services this working without struggling? (I can't see why is necessary to customize all these user permissions)

Why does my $LD_LIBRARY_PATH get unset when using screen with bash?

This is related to http://superuser.com/questions/27376/why-does-my-ld-library-path-get-unset-launching-terminal, but a different set of symptoms. First, /usr/bin/screen is setuid as per the other question. Second, the default shell on this system is /bin/tcsh for various historical reasons, and we're not allowed to chsh to /bin/bash, so I typically run bash manually immediately after login. Third, I almost always use screen, but I want ctrl-a ctrl-c in screen to create a new bash "tab", so I always invoke bash first. That is: {~} $ echo $SHELL /bin/tcsh {~} $ bash [~] echo $SHELL /bin/bash [~] screen -U [~] ...and when reconnecting: {~} $ echo $SHELL /bin/tcsh {~} $ screen -dUr [~] echo $SHELL /bin/bash [~] However, my $LD_LIBRARY_PATH is there in tcsh, there in bash, but empty once I run screen; it is still present if I just run screen from tcsh, but then I get new tcsh "tabs" when I use ctrl-a ctrl-c in screen. Any ideas?

Can I use a MySQL PREPARE statement in a function to create a query with a variable table name

I want to create a function that has a select query inside that can be used against multiple database tables but I can not use a variable as the table name. Can I get around this using a PREPARE statement in the function? Hi, I'm doing Grails To Action sample for chapter one. Every was just fine until I started to work with Services. Creating Pages or Windows in WPF

Hey all, I'm new to using WPF. I have the following program I want to create: -Application opens up with one button -User clicks button and it takes them to a new page with various input. I'm confused about how I need to do this. I tried opening a new window, but I don't want a window to open up, I want it to be all one Window. I tried creating a new page and navigating to it using NavigationService but couldn't get it to work. Basically I want to create a workflow where the user enters some stuff, clicks the next button and is taken to a new page to enter some more information. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

mod_rewrite - strange [R] behavior

Hello! I'm doing something very simple with mod_rewrite and it's behaving strange. It's behaving as if I'm using the [R] option, but I'm not. Here's a simple test for a .htaccess file: RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^page1$ page2 This should redirect a request for page1 to page2, but leave the URL in the web browser still pointing to page1. That doesn't happen though. It actually switches the URL to page2, as if I were using this code: RewriteRule ^page1$ page2 [R] Why's it doing that? That's not the default behavior. I'm using a pre-configured machine I got for EC2, so it's probably something in the apache configuration I'm not aware of. Googling has been futile. Help? This is Apache 2.12 btw.

However, in Document colours are associated with objects by use of a Map. What kind of pattern would you recommend to give the colour settings back to DocumentParser.parse from ObjectsParser.parse so it can associate it with the objects they belong to in a map? Using IIS Application Request Routing (ARR) for ASP.NET MVC

I use a simple ASP.NET MVC web (the template you use when you create a new site) and the web works as expected in my live environment. I now try to use IIS Application Request Routing version 2. I have a rule that send all reuqests to a different server that match a rule. The settings are a bit like this: http://blogs.iis.net/wonyoo/archive/2008/07/09/application-request-routing-arr-as-a-reverse-proxy.aspx My rule is just a bit different it is /shop(.*). Only requests that contain shop are send to a different server. I have to use rewrite, not redirect (The same as in the Picture) This works as long as the web the original requests go to is no ASP.NET MVC web. I tried to use a plain htm file in the webfolder and it worked. If put a compiled ASP.NET application into the webfolder it worked. But as soon as I put an ASP.NET MVC web into the folder, request arr served by this application. My understanding is that the ARR should kick in before the web application gets the chance to handle the request. Did anybody use ARR sucessfully as a reverse proxy for a ASP.NET MVC web? EDIT Here is the resulting web config when the rewrite roule is entered. Jython project in Eclipse can't find the xml module, but works in an identical project

I have two projects in Eclipse with Java and Python code, using Jython. Also I'm using PyDev. One project can import and use the xml module just fine, and the other gives the error ImportError: No module named xml. As far as I can tell, all the project properties are set identically. The working project was created from scratch and the other comes from code checked out of an svn repository and put into a new project. What could be the difference? edit- Same for os, btw. It's just missing some path somewhere...

Entity Framework - avoiding another query

I have a requirement to only save data to a table in a database (I don't need to read it) If the record already exists I want to update it otherwise I will add it. It usually exists. My entity context might already hold the object .. if it does I want to find it and use it again without causing it to refresh from the database when I 'find' it i.e. The context holds a collection of entities (rows of a database) I want to find an entity in the collection and only want the context to go to the database if entity is not in the collection. I don't care about the current values of the entity .. I just want to update them. Hope this is clear ..... thanks
