  • Truncating a table referenced by a foreign key

    - by born to hula
Hey, We have two tables in a SQL Server 2005 database, A and B.There is a service which truncates table A every day. Recently, a foreign key constraint was added to table B, referencing table A. As a result, it isn't possible truncating table A anymore, even if table B is empty. Is there any workaround to get the same result as truncating table A? I've already tried the approach below but the identity wasn't reset. DBCC CHECKIDENT (TABLENAME, RESEED, 0) PS. before anyone points this as a duplicate, the different thing here is that I'm not allowed to drop constraints, nor creating any.

Thank you,

  • ActiveSync gives a 401.2 error

    - by Justin James
Hello - I've been struggling for a while with a problem with ActiveSync, it is giving 401.2 errors when trying to access the mailboxes. Oddly enough, clients can get to the calendars just fine. I've tried from an Android device as well as the Exchange remote connectivity troubleshooter, same error both times. Here is the configuration: Connectivity through ISA 2006 Exchange 2007 on Windows 2008 Basic authentication is on ISA is passing through all authentication directly to the Exchange server The user IS allowed to get to ActiveSync in their Exchange mailbox settings I have tried the following, without success: * Making SSL not required * Enabling Windows Integrated and Digest authentication Here is an example of the errors in the IIS log: OPTIONS /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync/default.eas - 443 - 192.168.32.18 TestActiveSyncConnectivity 401 2 5 0 Here is what I am seeing in my trace log: ModuleName IIS Web Core Notification 2 HttpStatus 401 HttpReason Unauthorized HttpSubStatus 2 ErrorCode 2147942405 ConfigExceptionInfo Notification AUTHENTICATE_REQUEST ErrorCode Access is denied. (0x80070005) I'm 100% stumped. Any clues? Thanks! J.Ja

  • Let CGI-PHP load a non-default shared library.

    - by ralle
In Apache2 I configured PHP as CGI in a virtual host: SetEnv PHPRC "/usr/local/php5.3" ScriptAlias /php5.3 "/usr/local/php5.3/bin" Action application/php5.3 /php5.3/php-cgi AddType application/php5.3 .php Everything works fine. Now I have some issues with the standard version of the GD because it restricts me in settings several hinting and anti-aliasing stuff for fonts. Therefore I want to modify the GD source and create a new shared library. Since I don't want a modifed library in my system I want only PHP to use that library. My question now: How can I change the Apache configuration in a way that PHP uses a certain new version of the library? Something like this does not work: ScriptAlias /php5.3 "LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/path/to/my/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/local/php5.3/bin"

  • How do I stop mail.app and its nag screen from opening upon login in OS X if I don't use it

    - by user26453
Currently whenever I start OS X (10.6.2), mail.app starts up with a "Welcome to Mail" dialog, asking me to create an account by inputting name, email address, and password. If I cancel this dialog, the app just hangs and I have to force quit it. I do not use the mail.app and I do not want it to start up with OS X. I have checked the login items and it is NOT present in the login items list for my account. I have also ctrl+clicked the doc icon that appears and confirmed there is no option enabled for "Run at Login". If I go ahead and just spam continue through the dialogs for a new account, I can get through to actually using Mail and accessing preferences. I cannot find a startup option in Mail preferences. After I have completed this, if I now restart, Mail does NOT open automatically. However as soon as I delete the account that I created, it once again goes back to popping up a "Welcome to Mail" dialog every time I startup and login. As best as I can tell, it seems OS X checks if an account exists in the Mail app, and if it does not, it will always start up a "Welcome to Mail" dialog on login, regardless if the Mail app is set to run via login items, etc. This is incredibly frustrating given I have no intention of using the Mail app. I realize I can easily leave account info in there (perhaps even disable the account via preferences), but this behavior is ridiculous. ajgs

  • Google Chrome 4.0.249.89 not working

    - by tommieb75
Good day to you, I am running Google Chrome 4.0.249.89 and noticed a weird behavior with it. It loads but I get this error, notice there is an absent of commonly used pages in the display itself and displays the message. Upon closer inspection within the directory which I've captured here on pastebin.com Has google chrome ceased to function after a certain limit...? I have tried the setup --rename-chrome-exe trick which did not work...I just don't want to lose my bookmarks... Thanks for your help, Best regards, Tom.

  • Windows 7 Pro x64 suffering from insomnia

    - by gemisigo
My Win 7 Pro x64 is unable to enter sleep mode. Pressing the sleep button results in strange state where the computer starts entering the sleep mode, the display is turned off but then the whole process stops, it does not switch off the hdd, the keyboard still responds to numlock/capslock, but the display does not on anymore. I have to cut power and restart. If I remove everything (wireless mouse, external hdd, usb hub, etc.) it does enter sleep mode, but if there is something left, it does not, though every one of them has "Allow the computer to turn off this device..." checked and "Allow this device to wake the computer" unchecked. Why does it not work? It was working properly in the RC.

  • Convert a Row to a Column in Excel the Easy Way

    - by Matthew Guay
Sometimes we’ve entered data in a column in Excel, only to realize later that it would be better to have this data in a row, or vise-versa.  Here’s a simple trick to convert any row or set of rows into a column, or vise-versa, in Excel. Please Note: This is tested in Excel 2003, 2007, and 2010.  Here we took screenshots from Excel 2010 x64, but it works the same on the other versions. Convert a Row to a Column Here’s our data in Excel: We want to change these two columns into rows.  Select all the cells you wish to convert, right-click, and select copy (or simply press Ctrl+C): Now, right-click in the cell where you want to put the data in rows, and select “Paste Special…”   Check the box at the bottom that says “Transpose”, and then click OK. Now your data that was in columns is in rows! This works the exact same for converting rows into columns.  Here’s some data in rows:   After copying and pasting special with Transpose selected, here’s the data in columns! This is a great way to get your data organized just like you want in Excel. • Default encoding type for wsHttp binding

    - by user102533
    My understanding was that the default encoding for wsHttp binding is text. However, when I use Fiddler to see the SOAP message, a part of it looks like this: <s:Envelope xmlns:s="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope" xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing" xmlns:u="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd"><s:Header><a:Action s:mustUnderstand="1" u:Id="_2">http://tempuri.org/Services/MyContract/GetDataResponse</a:Action><a:RelatesTo u:Id="_3">urn:uuid:503c5525-f585-4ecd-ac09-24db78526952</a:RelatesTo><o:Security s:mustUnderstand="1" xmlns:o="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd"><u:Timestamp u:Id="uuid-8935f789-fbb7-4c69-9f67-7708373088c5-22"><u:Created>2010-03-08T19:15:50.852Z</u:Created><u:Expires>2010-03-08T19:20:50.852Z</u:Expires></u:Timestamp><c:DerivedKeyToken u:Id="uuid-8935f789-fbb7-4c69-9f67-7708373088c5-18" xmlns:c="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/02/sc"><o:SecurityTokenReference><o:Reference URI="urn:uuid:b2cbfe07-8093-4f44-8a06-f8b062291643" ValueType="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/02/sc/sct"/></o:SecurityTokenReference><c:Offset>0</c:Offset><c:Length>24</c:Length><c:Nonce>afOoDygRG7BW+q8+makVIA==</c:Nonce></c:DerivedKeyToken><c:DerivedKeyToken u:Id="uuid-8935f789-fbb7-4c69-9f67-7708373088c5-19" xmlns:c="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/02/sc"><o:SecurityTokenReference><o:Reference URI="urn:uuid:b2cbfe07-8093-4f44-8a06-f8b062291643" ValueType="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/02/sc/sct"/></o:SecurityTokenReference><c:Nonce>l4rFsdYKLJTK4tgUWrSBRw==</c:Nonce></c:DerivedKeyToken><e:ReferenceList xmlns:e="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#"><e:DataReference URI="#_1"/><e:DataReference URI="#_4"/></e:ReferenceList><e:EncryptedData Id="_4" Type="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#Element" xmlns:e="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#"><e:EncryptionMethod Algorithm="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#aes256-cbc"/><KeyInfo xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#"><o:SecurityTokenReference><o:Reference ValueType="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/02/sc/dk" URI="#uuid-8935f789-fbb7-4c69-9f67-7708373088c5-19"/></o:SecurityTokenReference></KeyInfo><e:CipherData><e:CipherValue>dW8B7wGV9tYaxM5ADzY6UuEgB5TFzdy4BZjOtF0NEbHyNevCIAVHMoyA69U4oUjQHMJD5nHS0N4tnJqfJkYellKlpFZcwqruJ1J/TFx9uwLFFAwZ+dSfkDqgKu/1MFzVSY8eyeYKmbPbVEYOHr0lhw3+7wn5NQr3yxvCjlucTAdklIhD72YnVlSVapOW3zgysGt5hStyj+bmIz5hLGyyv6If4HzWjUiru8V3iMM/ss1I+i9sJOD013kr4zaaA937CN9+/aZ2wbDXnYj31UX49uE/vvt9Tl+c4SiydbiX7tp1eNSTx9Ms5O64gb3aUmHEAYOJ19XCrr756ssFZtaE7QOAoPQkFbx9zXy0mb9j1YoPQNG+JAcrN0yoRN1klhccmY+csfYXdq7YBB/KS+u2WnUjQ7SlNFy5qIPxuy5y0Jyedr2diPKLi0gUi+cK49BLQtG/XEShtxFaeMy7zZTrQADxww7kEkhvtmAlmyRbz3oGc+ This doesn't look like text encoding to me (Shouldn't text encoding send data in readable form)?   • Reshape data frame to convert factors into columns in R

    - by Alexander L. Belikoff
I have a data frame where one particular column has a set of specific values (let's say, 1, 2, ..., 23). What I would like to do is to convert from this layout to the one, where the frame would have extra 23 (in this case) columns, each one representing one of the factor values. The data in these columns would be booleans indicating whether a particular row had a given factor value... To show a specific example: Source frame: ID DATE SECTOR 123 2008-01-01 1 456 2008-01-01 3 789 2008-01-02 5 ... <more records with SECTOR values from 1 to 5> Desired format: ID DATE SECTOR.1 SECTOR.2 SECTOR.3 SECTOR.4 SECTOR.5 123 2008-01-01 T F F F F 456 2008-01-01 F F T F F 789 2008-01-02 F F F F T I have no problem doing it in a loop but I hoped there would be a better way. So far reshape() didn't yield the desired result. Help would be much appreciated.

  • help translate this week query from Oracle PL/SQL to SQL Server 2008

    - by Sarah Vessels
I have the following query that runs in my Oracle database and I want to have the equivalent for a SQL Server 2008 database: SELECT TRUNC( /* Midnight Sunday */ NEXT_DAY(SYSDATE, 'SUN') - (7*LEVEL) ) AS week_start, TRUNC( /* 23:59:59 Saturday */ NEXT_DAY(NEXT_DAY(SYSDATE, 'SUN') - (7*LEVEL), 'SAT') + 1 ) - (1/(60*24)) + (59/(60*60*24)) AS week_end FROM DUAL CONNECT BY LEVEL <= 4 /* Get the past 4 weeks */ What the query does is get the start of the week and the end of the week for the last 4 weeks. It generates data like the following: WEEK_START WEEK_END 2010-03-07 00:00:00 2010-03-13 23:59:59 2010-02-28 00:00:00 2010-03-06 23:59:59 ...

  • Reuse classes in an id based css

    - by C. Ross
I have a id based CSS file where I noticed I'm mostly repeating myself. What I'd like to do is specify that an item with an id follows a certain class + some other rules. For example: I'd like id id1 to have all the properties of class LinkButton applied as well as the value back-color: green. Is there a way to do this in the css file? Is there a better way to do what I'm looking at?

  • External Javascript Timeout

    - by yummm
I have a number of tracking scripts and web services installed on my website and I noticed when one of the services goes down, it still tries to call the external javascript file hosted on a different server. In Firefox, Chrome and other new browsers, there doesn't seem to be any issues when one of the services go down. However, in IE7 and IE8, my pages don't load all the way and time out before everything is displayed. Is there any way to add a time out on these javascript calls to prevent them from breaking my pages when they go down?

  • How do I compare vectors in C++?

    - by Sam Phelps
I am trying to compare two vector objects, and return a single vector containing all the chars which appear in both vectors. How would I go about this without writing some horribly complex manual method which compares every char in the first vector to every char in the second vector and using an if to add it to a third vector (which would be returned) if they match. Maybe my lack of real experience with vectors is making me imagine this will be harder than it really is, but I suspect there is some simplier way which I have been unable to find through searching.

  • receive values with XML, AS3

    - by VideoDnd
My example imports XML and has an object rotating on stage. The rotating object is called enemy corresponds to ENEMY in the XML. How do I set the rotation variable to receive values from XML? REASON It seems more difficult to set up variables using external data. I want to understand it better. rotation.fla //LOAD XML var myXML:XML; var myLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); myLoader.load(new URLRequest("enemy.xml")); myLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, processXML); //PARSE XML function processXML(e:Event):void { myXML = new XML(e.target.data); trace(myXML.ROGUE.*); trace(myXML); //TEXT var text:TextField = new TextField(); text.text = myXML.ENEMY.*; addChild(text); } //ROTATION function enterFrameHandler(event:Event):void { //==>CODE I WANT TO CHANGE<== enemy.rotationY += 10; } addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, enterFrameHandler); enemy.xml ENEMY is set to -100, use what you like <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <BADGUYS> <ENEMY TITLE="sticky">-100</ENEMY> <ROGUE TITLE="slimy">-1000</ROGUE> </BADGUYS>

  • Partial template specialization of free functions - best practices

    - by Poita_
As most C++ programmers should know, partial template specialization of free functions is disallowed. For example, the following is illegal C++: template <class T, int N> T mul(const T& x) { return x * N; } template <class T> T mul<T, 0>(const T& x) { return T(0); } // error: function template partial specialization ‘mul<T, 0>’ is not allowed However, partial template specialization of classes/structs is allowed, and can be exploited to mimic the functionality of partial template specialization of free functions. For example, the target objective in the last example can be achieved by using: template <class T, int N> struct mul_impl { static T fun(const T& x) { return x * N; } }; template <class T> struct mul_impl<T, 0> { static T fun(const T& x) { return T(0); } }; template <class T, int N> T mul(const T& x) { return mul_impl<T, N>::fun(x); } It's more bulky and less concise, but it gets the job done -- and as far as users of mul are concerned, they get the desired partial specialization. My questions is: when writing templated free functions (that are intended to be used by others), should you automatically delegate the implementation to a static method function of a class, so that users of your library may implement partial specializations at will, or do you just write the templated function the normal way, and live with the fact that people won't be able to specialize them?
