  • Stack Overflow like Watermarks in Forms

    Hey people, I remember seeing a tutorial somewhere that talks of how to style your input forms in a more "usable" way. Essentially, you have a placeholder value and when you enter the input, it hides the hint so to speak. Now, just to be clear: I don't want the hint (placeholder value text) to disappear onFocus, but rather to go lighter when I first start typing something. Good e.gs: Check out the forms on Aardvark http://vark.com/. This is exactly how I wish to have my input forms. Our very own stackoverflow. When you try to ask a question, on clicking inside any input form, it doesn't hide the text right away. You see your cursor as well as the hint. but when you start to type, it hides the hint(I would prefer having it go to a much lighter shade rather than hiding all together, like above example). I remember very clearly reading a tutorial somewhere on the interwebz with this exact requirement, but darn forgot to bookmark it. Any suggestions/links?

  • [Java] Cluster Shared Cache

    Hi everyone. I am searching for a java framework that would allow me to share a cache between multiple JVMs. What I would need is something like Hazelcast but without the "distributed" part. I want to be able to add an item in the cache and have it automatically synced to the other "group member" cache. If possible, I'd like the cache to be sync'd via a reliable multicast (or something similar). I've looked at Shoal but sadly the "Distributed State Cache" seems like an insufficient implementation for my needs. I've looked at JBoss Cache but it seems a little overkill for what I need to do. I've looked at JGroups, which seems to be the most promising tool for what I need to do. Does anyone have experiences with JGroups ? Preferably if it was used as a shared cache ? Any other suggestions ? Thanks ! EDIT : We're starting tests to help us decide between Hazelcast and Infinispan, I'll accept an answer soon. EDIT : Due to a sudden requirements changes, we don't need a distributed map anymore. We'll be using JGroups for a low level signaling framework. Thanks everyone for you help.

  • Function declaration in C and C++

    I have two C++ files, say file1.cpp and file2.cpp as //file1.cpp #include<cstdio> void fun(int i) { printf("%d\n",i); } //file2.cpp void fun(double); int main() { fun(5); } When I compile them and link them as c++ files, I get an error "undefined reference to fun(double)". But when I do this as C files, I don't get error and 0 is printed instead of 5. Please explain the reason. Moreover I want to ask whether we need to declare a function before defining it because I haven't declared it in file1.cpp but no error comes in compilation.

  • Can I retain a Google apps session token permanently for a specific user who logs into my google app

    Hi guys, is it possible to retain upon authorization a single session token for a user who signs into my gogle application. CUrrently my application seems to every now and then require the user to authenticate into google apps. I think it has to do with session dying out or so.   • Deleting rows with MySQL LEFT JOIN

    Hello! I have two tables, one for job deadlines, one for describe a job. Each job can take a status and some statuses means the jobs' deadlines must be deleted from the other table. I can easily SELECT the jobs/deadlines that meets my criteria with a LEFT JOIN: SELECT * FROM `deadline` LEFT JOIN `job` ON deadline.job_id = job.job_id WHERE `status` = 'szamlazva' OR `status` = 'szamlazhato' OR `status` = 'fizetve' OR `status` = 'szallitva' OR `status` = 'storno' (status belongs to job table not deadline) But when i'd like to delete these rows from deadline, MySQL throws an error.     Hello I'm having a large problem with our development server, it have had a program called Webmin + a total idiot have been administrating the Linux sever. Witch now have resulted in the server being totally trashed, there are so many different kinds of the same program install that anything doesn’t work. And don't get me started on the users and groups :D Well at last I have been given the responsibility to administrate our development server. But I would like to start from scratch, instead of trying to find every single package and config the previous admin have **ed up. But the problem is that it is a remote hosted server with ssh access. The server is running Debian, but i am thinking of reinstalling it with ubuntu server Thanks
