  • Create Directory, 'cd' to it and download a file pipeline in Perl

    I have a file that looks like this: ftp://url1/files1.tar.gz dir1 ftp://url2/files2.txt dir2 .... many more... What I want to do are these steps: Create directory based on column 2 Unix 'cd' to that directory Download file with 'wget' based on column1 But how come this approach of mine doesn't work while(<>) { chomp; my ($url,$dir) = split(/\t/,$_); system("mkdir $dir"); system("cd $dir"); # Fail here system("wget $url"); # here too } What's the right way to do it?

  • jQuery Set Selected Option Using Next

    Hello, How can I, using jQuery, set the "next" item of an already selected item as "selected." For example, if I have: <select> <option value="1" >Number 1</option> <option value="2" selected="selected">Number 2</option> <option value="3" >Number 3</option> <option value="4" >Number 4</option> </select> We can see that "Number 2" is selected, and using jQuery, I'd like to set "Number 3" as selected, and remove the selected "attribute" from "Number 2". I'm assuming I need to use the next selector, but I'm not quite sure how to implement. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Question about singleton property

    I'm reading the java tutorial for enums located here and have a question: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/language/enums.html#Card The part i'm confused about is as follows: "The Card class, above, contains a static factory that returns a deck, but there is no way to get an individual card from its rank and suit. Merely exposing the constructor would destroy the singleton property (that only a single instance of each card is allowed to exist). Here is how to write a static factory that preserves the singleton property, using a nested EnumMap: " Now as I understand, changing the original private "Card" constructor to public would allow us to instantiate an unlimited number of copies of a "Card" object with a given suit+rank. The solution as proposed was to create an EnumMap which would store four Maps (one for each suit), which themselves contained 13 Card objects with the rank as their keys. And so now if you wanted to retrieve a specific Card object from the deck, you would just call the "valueOf" method. My question now is, what's the prevent you with calling the valueOf method as many times as you like? Wouldn't that lead to the same problem as making the original private constructor public?     Hey, I'm using web refernce call in new working thread in my application as follow: Thread callRunner = new Thread(delegate() { _mediator.IncomingCallDetails(phoneNumber); }); callRunner.Start() ; the _mediator calls the web refernce and replay to the caller in event as follow: void IncomingCallComplited(IncomingCallEventArg args) { Caller = args.Caller; Lodgers = args.Lodgers; PreviousMissions = args.PreviousMissions; } Caller ,Lodgers and PreviousMissions are properties of an object that bind to GUI element,as for now the binding works fine and I can see the values from the web reference in screen my question is should I use Dispatcher in the event or in any other phase ? and if I do can someone please explain why?     For some reason I can submit the form data on this Review and Submit page here in Chrome and FF but not IE7: https://checkout.netsuite.com/s.nl?c=659197&n=1&sc=4&category=confirm Email:[email protected] Pass:test03 Click on "here" where it says "Your Third Party Shipper Numbers (To enter one, click here.)" I removed my javascript that automatically refreshes the page to make sure that wasn't refreshing before anything was submitted somehow. Could the difference in IE7 have to do with the fact that the domain of the form (forms.netsuite.com) is different than the domain of the parent page(checkout.netsuite.com) and it's being submitted over HTTPS?

  • Merge changes in Microsoft Word documents

    I'm using Microsoft Word 2002 to maintain some documentation. The documents are stored in a version control repository (Subversion) together with the source code it documents. My Subversion client (TortoiseSVN) comes with a little VBA script that allows to leverage the built-in revisions feature when merging different branches. In other words, when I want to copy changes from one document to another, Word compares both documents (source and target) and builds a third document that has the contents of the source doc tagged as revisions, so I can then review differences one by one and confirm or discard changes. While this is handy, it also means that making a single change to the source document forces me to review all the differences between both documents and discard all of them except the only actual change. My questions is... Do you know about an application or plug-in that's able to find the differences between two Word documents and apply those differences to a third document? (I know 2002 is very old but that's what my company gives me; I'm open to solutions that use newer versions though.)

  • Can C/C++ compiler report struct member offset

    Hello, everyone. I'd like to ask, can compiler(e.g. Visual C++) generate a report(.txt) telling struct member offset for a struct/all structs? If so, it helps debugging quite a lot. For example, when you read disassembler code in the debugger, it can be easier to associate an offset value to a struct member. Also, it is better to have compiler report offset of each local variable on a function stack frame(e.g. the offset relative to ebp on an X86 machine). Thank you in advance.

It works absolutely fine but just wondering (or hoping) if there's any way of getting those controls to render on the page in XHTML format?     I am looking to use ogg vorbis, instead of mp3s to stream audio. It seems that Flash player does not natively support ogg. Is there a codec engine that can be embedded with the app itself that can play .ogg instead of .mp3? In general, what would be a better format than mp3 for streaming audio and that is supported by Flash?

  • jQuery trigger mouseover function when page loads with the mouse over the element

    Hello all, I have an ASP.NET document, with an Image element within it. I created a mouseover function on this image element and it's working fine. The question is: If the mouse is ALREADY over the element when the document loads itself, the mouseover function doesn't trigger (I need to mouseout and then mouseover again in order to trigger it). Is there any way to check in the $(document).ready function if the mouse is already on top of this element? and if yes- trigger the mouseover function. Thanks all!

I want to have a LinkButton that adds 'span' tag around the text. protected override void Render(HtmlTextWriter writer) { Text = String.Concat("<span>", Text, "</span>"); base.Render(writer); } It's works perfectly, but only if I add text like this: <cc:TestLinkButton ID="TestLinkButton" runat="server" Text="SomeText"> </cc:TestLinkButton> If I want to add some image I will write something like this: <cc:TestLinkButton ID="LinkButton1" runat="server"> <asp:Image ID="Image1" runat="server" ImageUrl="~/Images/icon_holiday.png" BorderWidth="0" /> SomeText </cc:TestLinkButton> In this case Text property will be empty, because actualy "SomeText" is child control property. So question is is how to add tag around child controls.

  • Rails Beta3 & PaperClip & Passenger Bundler::PathError

    So I'm going around in circles with this - I'm using a fork of the Paperclip Rails gem to get it to work with Rails3. Works fine on my OSX box with Passenger. But on my server (CentOS 5) I get this this error: git://github.com/lmumar/paperclip.git (at rails3) is not checked out. Please runbundle install(Bundler::PathError)Blockquote I tried Bundle Pack, but that doesnt pack gems from github. I read a post about setting the parh to the BUNDLE_HOME in my application.rb file which I tried: ENV['BUNDLER_HOME']="~/.bundle/ruby/1.8/bundler/gems/" But that doesnt work. Any ideas anyone? I dont know what else to do and have no idea how to debug or trace the problem further :( Passenger version 2.2.11. thanks.

  • Doing a count over a filter query efficiently in django

    Hello, Django newbie here, I need to do a count over a certain filter in a django model. If I do it like so: my_model.objects.filter(...).count() I'm guessing it does the SQL query that retrieves all the rows and only afterwards does the count. To my knowledge it's much more efficient to do the count without retrieving those rows like so "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM ...". Is there a way to do so in django?

  • Adding images into source code

    Is there a way (or an editor) that allows me to link an image/files/http links from within a source file (*.java for instance), sort of like a rich text document ? This way, while reading the code I can quickly look at the appended image (augmenting the comments), instead of opening the browser etc.
