  • SharePoint / SQL Server "out of memory" error

    After months of preparation, we launched a new SharePoint intranet portal today. Immediately, some users began getting a "server out of memory" error when they tried to log in. The SharePoint server appeared to be fine, but the SQL Server was reporting 100% memory use. (It has 4 GB.) We rebooted the server and have not had further memory problems, though memory usage is hovering around 60% or above. I'm not convinced that we have solved the problem; I suspect it may return Monday morning when the whole staff tries to log in again. I'm not a database guy, and I'm stumped about how to troubleshoot this. Do we need more memory, or is there somewhere I should look to reduce memory usage?

  • Best way to get the highest sum from a Matrix (using Java but algorithm is the issue here)

    Sorry I dont know the correct terminology to use but I have a 3x3 matrix like this 1 3 4 5 4 5 2 2 5 and I want get the highest score by picking a value from each row/column but I cant pick the same row or column more than once , so the answer in this case is 3 + 5 + 5 = 13 (row0,col1 + row1,col0 + row2,col2) 4 + 5 + 5 = 14 is not allowed because would have picked two values from col2 I'm using Java, and typically the matrix would be 15 by 15 in size. Is there a name for what Im trying to do, and whats the algorithm thanks Paul

    I have a header file: class A { public: DeviceProxyPtr GetDeviceProxy(); }; DeviceProxyPtr is defined in a different header file like this: typedef SmartPtrC<DeviceProxyC> DeviceProxyPtr; I don't want to include DeviceProxyPtr definition header. If a return type was DeviceProxy* I could simply use predeclaration class DeviceProxy. Is there any way to do the same with my smart pointer class?

    Hi, I have the following 2 tables: items: id int primary key bla text events: id_items int num int when timestamp without time zone ble text composite primary key: id_items, num and want to select to each item the most recent event (the newest 'when'). I wrote an request, but I don't know if it could be written more efficiently. Also on PostgreSQL there is a issue with comparing Timestamp objects: 2010-05-08T10:00:00.123 == 2010-05-08T10:00:00.321 so I select with 'MAX(num)' Any thoughts how to make it better? Thanks.   • Storing array as value in associative array

    i have a problem where I need to have an array as value in associative array. Go through the code below. Here I am trying to loop the files in a directory and it is more likely that more than 1 file can have the same ctrno. So, I would like to see what are all the files having the same ctrno. The code below gives error at "$ctrno_hash[$ctrno] = @arr;" in the else condition. The same case would be for if condition as well. However, some customization is required every now and then (new data filters, columns, ordering, ...), and these changes are painful to implement since we need to modify the JSPs, DB Procedures, the application itself, ...   • Defines JEE 5 the handling of commit error using bean managed transactions?

    I'm using glassfish 2.1 and 2.1.1. If I've a bean method annotated by @TransactionAttribute(value = TransactionAttributeType.REQUIRES_NEW). After doing some JPA stuff the commit fails in the afterCompletion-Phase of JTS. GlassFish logs this failure only. And the caller of this bean method has no chance to know something goes wrong. So I wonder, if there is any definition how a jee 5 server has to handle exceptions while commiting. I would expect any runtime exception. I'm using stateless beans. With SessionSynchronisation I could get the commit failue, if I use statefull beans. Is it possible to intercept, so I can throw an exception, that I've declared in my interface?   • How to dump memcache contents to console in a telnet session

    I am having problems with memcached, and I need to find what is actually stored in the cache. I have telnet'ed into the daemon and am listening on the port, and can send the daemon commands via the CLI. I want to know if anyone is aware of a command I can use to dump the contents of the cache to the console. I know of commands like 'flush_all' and 'stats' but those are not quite sufficient for what I want to do.

    Hello to all. I got very strange issue, really weird. On weekend, May 9th I changed my server location from US to UK. Of course, everything works correctly excluding domains. There's something wrong. I got few domains on this server but I still cannot access them. When I try from the other location it works correctly. The most funny situation is that everything is working correctly from my girlfriend's work, about 500 meters from our house, but they have another ISP. It also works when I access the domains via proxy server. I checked who.is informations and everything seems to be working. On Sunday and today morning I was able to access my domains but only for a while. When I refreshed website second time I got error "Firefox was not able to connect server". Since then I'm still getting this error. Could it be my ISP fault? Regards, Andrew

  • PST backup with Volume Shadow Copy Service

    I was asked to implement the task of backing up 35 PST files ranging from 800Mb to 2000Mb. Windows XP and Windows 2000 workstations are assigned to the users and we have a Windows 2000 domain controller we use to back up files on 3x 500Gb external hard drives. I found several methods from applications to scripts. Local or remote applications would be my last resort. I came across this script based on Volume Shadow Copy Service. CopyWithVss I wanted to know if there would be a problem if the path had spaces. Would mounting the destination path of each PST folder with a drive letter be more practical? My concern with mounting option is that i would eventually run out of letters since I have 35 and possibly more workstations to back up. Lastly, can someone give me an example of CopyWithVss if it were run on a production network? The script is a bit cryptic even after reading several times. Where in the script do I enter the source and the destination? I'm a Mac user so please excuse my ignorance with Windows platform.

  • Updating Dell PowerEdge firmware on Ubuntu?

    The company I work for recently got hands on a batch of second hand PowerEdge SC1425 machines. We'd like to put these to good use. Our operating system of choice is Ubuntu Server 10.04 64-bit, which installs just peachy on this type of machine. Now I'd like to install the firmware updates from Dell, which are apparently marked as recommended. This includes the updates for the BIOS, the BMC, and possibly some other hardware. I find it incredibly difficult to locate the files on the Dell website, and install any of them on an Ubuntu system: I downloaded the file OM_6.2.0_SUU_A01.iso. I believe I've read that the SUU DVD should be able to update any recent PowerEdge. Is this correct? Is this the latest version? Besides the version number, does A01 have any meaning? Is this image bootable? (At the moment, I just nosed around with a loop device mount.) Running /bin/bash ./suu from the DVD, I get: # /bin/bash ./suu ./suu: line 262: ./java/linux/i386/bin/java: No such file or directory The file exists and is executable, though. But I cannot execute it directly from the shell either.
