    Does 7-Zip take advantage of multiprocessor or multi-core systems? For example, would there be a close to 16 times speed-up on a 16 core system assuming no disk or memory bottlenecks? Or is it is limited to 2 threads (2 times speed-up on systems with more than one CPU or core)?

  • Rails Application expecting me to restart my webrick server for any change in my controller.

    I am working on an existing Rails 2.3.x application, So I was working on it and it was a messy code with great difficulty I was able to run the application. But now for every small change in one of my controller it is expecting me to restart my serer otherwise the changes are not reflecting back, Let's take an example scenario here, Let's just say in one of the before_filter method I just added a puts statement on top of the method and it was not printing in the log, after I restart the server it is printing, Can some one please let me know if I am missing something here.

  • dynamically scan pictures in a folder and display using jquery slideshow

    guys, anyone know how to scan a folder using jquery or javascript code snippet, after that get a picture file name and embed in <li></li> or <div></div>, i've used php code to read through the folder and loop through the element to display the thumbnails and all, but it's not work well. I've try on galleria, gallerific, galleryView jquery slideshow plugin but those might not work well with php processing because of predefined configuration or something, can anyone tweak or hack these gallery to dynamically read an image from a folder?

I want to uncheck other check boxes when a certain check box is ticked in my case checkbox with id #6, and it uncheck a checkbox #6 if other checkbox is check. The code above is able to uncheck other checkbox but how can I uncheck the checkbox with id 6,once the other checkbox is check.

    Hello, I have a table and for every row I would like to create a dialogue box and a link that can be clicked to launch that dialogue box. E.g. Name 1 (click to get more details). { these are the details for name 1} Name 2 (click to get more details). { these are the details for name 2} So I would need a dialogue function that I can pass a custom title and body to...     I have 3 files. xxx which imports xxx2 and xxx2 imports xxx3 which one raises OppsError exception. xxx3.py: class OppsError(Exception):pass def go(): raise OppsError() xxx2.py: import xxx3 xxx3.go() xxx.py: try: import xxx2 except xxx3.OppsError: print 'ops' When i run xxx.py i get error NameError: name 'xxx3' is not defined. Is importing xxx3 inside xxx only way to catch OppsError?

    Hi, I have SharePoint site and I want to use form-based authentication, not Windows how it is by default. For this I read that I have to modify the web.config from Central Administration and web.config from my site with the membership and roleManager tags configured properly. But if I use this: <membership> <providers> <add name="MyProvider" type="System.Web.Security.SqlMembershipProvider, System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" .../> </providers> </membership> System.Web.Security.SqlMembershipProvider requires a database generated with ASP.NET SQL Server Setup Wizard (aspnet_regsql.exe), and this is my problem! I want to use another database with cunstom table 'Users' from where to take the username and password for authentication. How can I do this? Thank you in advance

  • Networking problems in VMWare with wireless bridge

    Barebone data: virtualization: VMWare Workstation 6.5 (latest) Host: Windows Server 2008 x64 Guest: Windows Server 2008 x86 Host network adapter: wireless Guest network adapter 1: over Bridge VMNet (automatic) Guest network adapter 2: over Host only VMNet Problem When I surf the net within VM my internet connection just gets stalled (not dropped). It doesn't experience any timeout whatsoever, it just stops downloading/communicating. For instance: I start downloading a file with a browser (IE/FF/CR doesn't matter) and I have to pause/restart download when speed drops to 0. I could wait indefinitelly but connection won't pickup automatically. What did I miss in my network configuration? Update 1 I've tested this in various combinations. This works fine when host is connected via Ethernet. But when connected via Wifi, the connection on the guest works as previously described. It connects fine. It gets a valid IP from DHCP... Everything is cool as long as you don't start doing some intensive network traffic (ie. download a 2MB file) In this case it starts downloading and stops after a while. Speed just drops to 0B/s... Sometimes it picks up back, sometimes it doesn't. Connection still stays and works. I can ping around with no problem.

Is there a simple (DRY) way to check if two divs have the same class already built into jQuery?     I'd like to know what people consider best practice for securing the Admin sections of websites, specifically from an authentication/access point of view. Of course there are obvious things, such as using SSL and logging all access, but I'm wondering just where above these basic steps people consider the bar to be set. For example: Are you just relying on the same authentication mechanism that you use for normal users? If not, what? Are you running the Admin section in the same 'application domain'? What steps do you take to make the admin section undiscovered? (or do you reject the while 'obscurity' thing)

  • Curser control using Masked Text Box in C#

    I seem to have asked this question twice ! I kept getting a message saying New Members can only add a new Question every 20 minutes, try again later !!! Sorry for the duplication ! Please ignore this one !! Thanks. In my app in C# I have several input fields that I need to capture. I need them to be of specific sizes and type and I have used masked Text Boxes for these. I have fields like name which is 20 text charachters long, and a certificate number which is 5 numeric characters with a preceding C etc. This works fine except with I click on a field with the mouse, the cursor does not go to the begining of the fild, or the end of any input text. Is there a way of allowing this to happen using Masked Text Box or will I have to use normal Text Box and do all the field validation manually ?
