  • Namespace constants and use as

    - by GordonM
I'm having some problems with using constants from a namespace. If I define the constant and try to use as it, PHP seems unable to find it. For example, in my file with the constants I have code along the lines of the following: namespace \my\namespace\for\constants; const DS = DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR; Then in the consuming file I have: namespace \some\other\namespace; use \my\namespace\for\constants\DS as DS; echo (realpath (DS . 'usr' . DS 'local')); However, instead of echoing '/usr/local' as expected I get the following notice and an empty string. Notice: Use of undefined constant DS - assumed 'DS' If I change the code as follows: use \my\namespace\for\constants as cns; echo (realpath (cns\DS . 'usr' . cns\DS 'local')); I get the expected result, but it's obviously quite a bit less convenient than just being able to pull the constants in directly. You can alias a class/interface/trait in a namespace, are you not able to alias a constant too? If you can do it, then how?

  • How to combine the multiple part linq into one query?

    - by user2943399
    Operator should be ‘AND’ and not a ‘OR’. I am trying to refactor the following code and i understood the following way of writing linq query may not be the correct way. Can somone advice me how to combine the following into one query. AllCompany.Where(itm => itm != null).Distinct().ToList(); if (AllCompany.Count > 0) { //COMPANY NAME if (isfldCompanyName) { AllCompany = AllCompany.Where(company => company["Company Name"].StartsWith(fldCompanyName)).ToList(); } //SECTOR if (isfldSector) { AllCompany = AllCompany.Where(company => fldSector.Intersect(company["Sectors"].Split('|')).Any()).ToList(); } //LOCATION if (isfldLocation) { AllCompany = AllCompany.Where(company => fldLocation.Intersect(company["Location"].Split('|')).Any()).ToList(); } //CREATED DATE if (isfldcreatedDate) { AllCompany = AllCompany.Where(company => company.Statistics.Created >= createdDate).ToList(); } //LAST UPDATED DATE if (isfldUpdatedDate) { AllCompany = AllCompany.Where(company => company.Statistics.Updated >= updatedDate).ToList(); } //Allow Placements if (isfldEmployerLevel) { fldEmployerLevel = (fldEmployerLevel == "Yes") ? "1" : ""; AllCompany = AllCompany.Where(company => company["Allow Placements"].ToString() == fldEmployerLevel).ToList(); }

  • Python: two loops at once

    - by Stephan Meijer
I've got a problem: I am new to Python and I want to do multiple loops. I want to run a WebSocket client (Autobahn) and I want to run a loop which shows the filed which are edited in a specific folder (pyinotify or else Watchdog). Both are running forever, Great. Is there a way to run them at once and send a message via the WebSocket connection while I'm running the FileSystemWatcher, like with callbacks, multithreading, multiprocessing or just separate files? factory = WebSocketClientFactory("ws://localhost:8888/ws", debug=False) factory.protocol = self.webSocket connectWS(factory) reactor.run() If we run this, it will have success. But if we run this: factory = WebSocketClientFactory("ws://localhost:8888/ws", debug=False) factory.protocol = self.webSocket connectWS(factory) reactor.run() # Websocket client running now, running the filewatcher wm = pyinotify.WatchManager() mask = pyinotify.IN_DELETE | pyinotify.IN_CREATE # watched events class EventHandler(pyinotify.ProcessEvent): def process_IN_CREATE(self, event): print "Creating:", event.pathname def process_IN_DELETE(self, event): print "Removing:", event.pathname handler = EventHandler() notifier = pyinotify.Notifier(wm, handler) wdd = wm.add_watch('/tmp', mask, rec=True) notifier.loop() This will create 2 loops, but since we already have a loop, the code after 'reactor.run()' will not run at all.. For your information: this project is going to be a sync client. Thanks a lot!

  • Multiplying Block Matrices in Numpy

    - by Ada Xu
    Hi Everyone I am python newbie I have to implement lasso L1 regression for a class assignment. This involves solving a quadratic equation involving block matrices. minimize x^t * H * x + f^t * x where x 0 Where H is a 2 X 2 block matrix with each element being a k dimensional matrix and x and f being a 2 X 1 vectors each element being a k dimension vector. I was thinking of using nd arrays. such that np.shape(H) = (2, 2, k, k) np.shape(x) = (2, k) But I figured out that np.dot(X, H) doesn't work here. Is there an easy way to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

  • Cloud 9 and Grunt.js

    - by Michael Ryan Soileau
I'm running grunt.js on Cloud9. Most everything is working correctly, except when I try to set this option: 'watch: { options: {livereload:true},' If I add that, the terminal states: 'Fatal error: listen EACCES' I'm guessing I need to use the sudo command to run that and since c9 doesn't let you run sudo, the command fails. But why is livereload a feature that requires permission? And is there any way around it?

  • disable download of my paid app in Android

    - by Boy
I have a paid app in the store which will remove the ads in another app when it is installed on that device. Now I want to remove this 'remove ads' app, as I want to have an in-app payement for this for instance (or maybe I just keep the ads version only). But the problem is, if I unpublish the app, people who bought it will not be able to download it again when they get a new phone or reset their phone. How to I keep the app in the Play Store, but prevent people from buying it? Is this possible? My backup plan is: make the app cost 10.000 euro's and put in the message that this app should not be bought anymore. But I don't like that...

  • Raw types and subtyping

    - by Dmitrii
We have generic class SomeClass<T>{ } We can write the line: SomeClass s= new SomeClass<String>(); It's ok, because raw type is supertype for generic type. But SomeClass<String> s= new SomeClass(); is correct to. Why is it correct? I thought that type erasure was before type checking, but it's wrong. From Hacker's Guide to Javac When the Java compiler is invoked with default compile policy it performs the following passes: parse: Reads a set of *.java source files and maps the resulting token sequence into AST-Nodes. enter: Enters symbols for the definitions into the symbol table. process annotations: If Requested, processes annotations found in the specified compilation units. attribute: Attributes the Syntax trees. This step includes name resolution, type checking and constant folding. flow: Performs data ow analysis on the trees from the previous step. This includes checks for assignments and reachability. desugar: Rewrites the AST and translates away some syntactic sugar. generate: Generates Source Files or Class Files. Generic is syntax sugar, hence type erasure invoked at 6 pass, after type checking, which invoked at 4 pass. I'm confused.

  • Files not waiting for each other

    - by Sunny
    I have two batch files as follows in which file2.bat is dependent on file1.bat's output: file1.bat @ECHO OFF setlocal enabledelayedexpansion SET "keystring1=" ( FOR /f "delims=" %%a IN ( Source.txt ) DO ( ECHO %%a|FIND "Appprocess.exe" >NUL IF NOT ERRORLEVEL 1 SET keystring1=%%a FOR %%b IN (App1 App2 App3 App4 App5 App6 ) DO ( ECHO %%a|FIND "%%b" >NUL IF NOT ERRORLEVEL 1 IF DEFINED keystring1 CALL ECHO(%%keystring1%% %%b&SET "keystring1=" )))>result.txt GOTO :EOF file2.bat @echo off setlocal enabledelayedexpansion (for /f "tokens=1,2" %%a in (memory.txt) do ( for /f "tokens=5" %%c in ('find " %%a " ^< result.txt ') do echo %%c %%b ))> new.txt file1.bat usually takes 60 sec to complete its execution. In master.bat file i am calling above two files as: call file1.bat call file2.bat but file2.bat is not waiting for file1.bat to complete its execution. Even , i tried to call file2.bat within file1.bat as below but still its not waiting for file1.bat to get completed: @ECHO OFF setlocal enabledelayedexpansion SET "keystring1=" ( FOR /f "delims=" %%a IN ( Source.txt ) DO ( ECHO %%a|FIND "HsvDataSource.exe" >NUL IF NOT ERRORLEVEL 1 SET keystring1=%%a FOR %%b IN (EUHFMPROD USHFMPROD TL2TEST GSHFMPROD TL2PROD GSARCH1213 TL2FY13) DO ( ECHO %%a|FIND "%%b" >NUL IF NOT ERRORLEVEL 1 IF DEFINED keystring1 CALL ECHO(%%keystring1%% %%b&SET "keystring1=" )))>file2.txt GOTO :EOF call file1.bat I also tried below start option, but no effect.: start file1.bat /wait call file2.bat Not getting ..why its happening..?

  • How do I get a JPanel with an empty JLabel to take up space in a GridBagLayout

    - by user2888663
    I am working on a GUI for a project at school. I am using a GridBagLayout in swing. I want to have a label indicating the input(a type of file @ x = 0, y = 0), followed by another label(the actual file name once selected @ x = 1, y = 0), followed by a browse button for a file chooser( @ x = 2, y = 0). The label at (1,0) is initially blank, however I want the area that the text will occupy to take up some space when the label contains no text. I also want the space between the label at (0,0) and the button at (2,0) to remain constant. To achieve this, I'm trying to put the label onto a panel and then play with the layouts. However I can't seam to achieve the desired results. Could anyone offer some suggestions? The next three rows of the GridBagLayout will be laid out exactly the same way. Here is a link to a screen shot of the GUI. calibrationFileSelectionValueLabel = new JLabel("",Label.LEFT); calibrationFileSelectionValueLabel.setName("calibrationFileSelection"); calibrationFileSelectionValueLabel.setMinimumSize(new Dimension(100,0)); calibrationFileSelectionValuePanel = new JPanel(); calibrationFileSelectionValuePanel.setBorder(BorderFactory.createEtchedBorder()); calibrationFileSelectionValuePanel.add(calibrationFileSelectionValueLabel); c.gridx = 0; c.gridy = 0; c.fill = GridBagConstraints.NONE; filesPanel.add(calibrationFileLabel,c); c.gridy = 1; filesPanel.add(frequencyFileLabel,c); c.gridy = 2; filesPanel.add(sampleFileLabel,c); c.gridy = 3; filesPanel.add(outputFileLabel,c); c.gridx = 1; c.gridy = 0; c.fill = GridBagConstraints.BOTH; // filesPanel.add(calibrationFileSelection,c); filesPanel.add(calibrationFileSelectionValuePanel,c); c.gridy = 1; // filesPanel.add(frequencyFileSelection,c); filesPanel.add(frequencyFileSelectionValueLabel,c); c.gridy = 2; // filesPanel.add(sampleFileSelection,c); filesPanel.add(sampleFileSelectionValueLabel,c); c.gridy = 3; // filesPanel.add(outputFileSelection,c); filesPanel.add(outputFileSelectionValueLabel,c); c.gridx = 2; c.gridy = 0; c.fill = GridBagConstraints.NONE; filesPanel.add(calibrationFileSelectionButton,c); c.gridy = 1; filesPanel.add(frequencyFileSelectionButton,c); c.gridy = 2; filesPanel.add(sampleFileSelectionButton,c); c.gridy = 3; filesPanel.add(createOutputFileButton,c); panelForFilesPanelBorder = new JPanel(); panelForFilesPanelBorder.setBorder(BorderFactory.createCompoundBorder(new EmptyBorder(5,10,5,10), BorderFactory.createEtchedBorder())); panelForFilesPanelBorder.add(filesPanel); buttonsPanel = new JPanel(); buttonsPanel.setLayout(new FlowLayout(FlowLayout.CENTER)); buttonsPanel.setBorder(BorderFactory.createCompoundBorder(new EmptyBorder(5,10,10,10), BorderFactory.createEtchedBorder())); buttonsPanel.add(startButton); buttonsPanel.add(stopButton); basePanel.add(panelForFilesPanelBorder); basePanel.add(numericInputPanel); basePanel.add(buttonsPanel);

  • Assigning a previous fieldvalue to a field in the next record

    - by user2945849
I am working on a loan amortization schedule using Access, I have created the following tables: tblMembers - autoMemberID|txtLN|txtFN|etc tblLoans - autoLoanID|numMemberID|etc tblSchedules -autoScheduleID|numLoanID|numPayment#|datDue|dblBegin|...|dblEnd tblPayments - autoPaymID|numLoanID|curAmtPaid|datPaidDate and forms: frmLoans - autoLoanID|etc sbfSchedules - numPaymID|datDue|dblBegin|...|dblEnd sbfPayments - dblAmount|datPaid I have been able to generate the schedule (using DAO recordset) clicking a btnRepaymentSchedule the challenge is when I click a btnAddPayment still on the sbfSchedules, I want the value of the dblEnd field to be the value of the next record dblBegin field! I have tried using dlookup(txtBeginBalance = Dlookup("EndBalance", _ "Schedules","[ScheduleID] = Form![Schedules]![ScheduleID]-1) but there is no effect but if I use txtBeginBalance = txtEndBalance the value of txtEndBalance is assigned to the value of txtBeginBalance of the same record (want next record). Secondly, how can I set focus to the next record if a contro(txtAmountPaid) is not null on clicking the btnAddPayment or assigning the value of a calculation when the control is 0 or null ? Thanks

  • Raphael Scope Drag n drop multiple paper instances

    - by donald
    I have two Raphael paper instances. In both I want to drag and drop an element (circle). It is important for me to assign both these circles the same id. I expected no problem, as both are in different paper instances and therefore in different scope. What happens is, that somehow both elements react, when I have clicked both elements at least once. If I however give these elements different IDs everything works fine (each element only calls its "start", "drag" and "up" function if draged around). Is this intended behaviour of Raphael and do I have to assign different IDs to the elements in the different paper instances? Hopefully not and you can point me to the right direction :-) Thanks a lot for your Help in advance, Here comes the code: <!doctype html> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <title>DragNDrop</title> <script src="raphael-min.js"></script> </head> <body> <h1>Paper1</h1> <div id="divPaper1" style ="height: 150px; width: 300px; border:thin solid red"></div> <h1>Paper2</h1> <div id="divPaper2" style ="height: 150px; width: 300px; border:thin solid red"></div> <script> start1 = function () { console.log("start1"); } drag1 = function () { console.log("move1"); } up1 = function () { console.log("up1"); } start2 = function () { console.log("start2"); } drag2 = function () { console.log("move2"); } up2 = function () { console.log("up2"); } var paper1 = Raphael("divPaper1", "100%", "100%"); var circle1 = paper1.circle(40, 40, 30); circle1.attr("fill", "yellow"); circle1.id = "circle"; //both circles get the same id circle1.drag(drag1, start1, up1); paper2 = Raphael("divPaper2", "100%", "100%"); var circle2 = paper2.circle(40, 40, 30); circle2.attr("fill", "red"); circle2.id = "circle"; //both circles get the same id circle2.drag(drag2, start2, up2); </script> </body>

  • Access DB Transaction Insert limit

    - by user986363
Is there a limit to the amount of inserts you can do within an Access transaction before you need to commit or before Access/Jet throws an error? I'm currently running the following code in hopes to determine what this maximum is. OleDbConnection cn = new OleDbConnection( @"Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=C:\temp\myAccessFile.accdb;Persist Security Info=False;"); try { cn.Open(); oleCommand = new OleDbCommand("BEGIN TRANSACTION", cn); oleCommand.ExecuteNonQuery(); oleCommand.CommandText = "insert into [table1] (name) values ('1000000000001000000000000010000000000000')"; for (i = 0; i < 25000000; i++) { oleCommand.ExecuteNonQuery(); } oleCommand.CommandText = "COMMIT"; oleCommand.ExecuteNonQuery(); } catch (Exception ex) { } finally { try { oleCommand.CommandText = "COMMIT"; oleCommand.ExecuteNonQuery(); } catch{} if (cn.State != ConnectionState.Closed) { cn.Close(); } } The error I received on a production application when I reached 2,333,920 inserts in a single uncommited transaction was: "File sharing lock count exceeded. Increase MaxLocksPerFile registry entry". Disabling transactions fixed this problem.

  • Multiple value array

    - by Ant..
    I am new to jScript and have written this code [which works perfectly]. Its purpose is to test that the term for the amount of loan is not exceeded. Can the process be consolidated into one array where you pass the loan amount which returns the term based on the range i.e. 6000 to 7000 = 96 function TestMaxTerm() { var LnAmt = 14000 //Testing Purposes var Term = 0 //Testing Purposes if (LnAmt > 0 && LnAmt <= 1000){Term = 0;} if (LnAmt > 1000 && LnAmt <= 2000){Term = 1;} if (LnAmt > 2000 && LnAmt <= 3000){Term = 2;} if (LnAmt > 3000 && LnAmt <= 4000){Term = 3;} if (LnAmt > 4000 && LnAmt <= 5000){Term = 4;} if (LnAmt > 5000 && LnAmt <= 6000){Term = 5;} if (LnAmt > 6000 && LnAmt <= 7000){Term = 6;} if (LnAmt > 7000 && LnAmt <= 8000){Term = 7;} if (LnAmt > 8000 && LnAmt <= 9000){Term = 8;} if (LnAmt > 9000 && LnAmt <= 10000){Term = 9;} if (LnAmt > 10000 && LnAmt <= 11000){Term = 10;} if (LnAmt > 11000 && LnAmt <= 12000){Term = 11;} if (LnAmt > 11000){Term = 12;} //Obtain Maximum Term for Loan Amount var MaxTerm = new Array(); MaxTerm[0] = 24; MaxTerm[1]=36; MaxTerm[2] = 48; MaxTerm[3] = 60; MaxTerm[5] = 72; MaxTerm[5]=84; MaxTerm[6] = 96; MaxTerm[7] = 108; MaxTerm[8] = 120; MaxTerm[9]=132; MaxTerm[10] = 164; MaxTerm[11] = 176; MaxTerm[12] = 420; var text = MaxTerm[Term]; alert(text); }

Trying to open Eclipse after a couple of months and get this error: So I checked that folder to see if it existed, and it did: I checked my PATH Was correct and it was also correct: When this error first occurred I had 3 Java installations. JRE 7 Update 10, JDK 7 Update 7 32bit and 64 bit. I uninstall ALL and restarted my machine. Eclipse then stated, as expected that I needed a JRE or a JDK. So I downloaded and installed the latest JDK and now I get this error, despite everything appearing to be correct. Any ideas?

  • Remote Debug Windows Azure Cloud Service

    - by Shaun
Originally posted on: http://geekswithblogs.net/shaunxu/archive/2013/11/02/remote-debug-windows-azure-cloud-service.aspxOn the 22nd of October Microsoft Announced the new Windows Azure SDK 2.2. It introduced a lot of cool features but one of it shocked most, which is the remote debug support for Windows Azure Cloud Service (a.k.a. WACS).   Live Debug is Nightmare for Cloud Application When we are developing against public cloud, debug might be the most difficult task, especially after the application had been deployed. In order to minimize the debug effort, Microsoft provided local emulator for cloud service and storage once the Windows Azure platform was announced. By using local emulator developers could be able run their application on local machine with almost the same behavior as running on Windows Azure, and that could be debug easily and quickly. But when we deployed our application to Azure, we have to use log, diagnostic monitor to debug, which is very low efficient. Visual Studio 2012 introduced a new feature named "anonymous remote debug" which allows any workstation under any user could be able to attach the remote process. This is less secure comparing the authenticated remote debug but much easier and simpler to use. Now in Windows Azure SDK 2.2, we could be able to attach our application from our local machine to Windows Azure, and it's very easy.   How to Use Remote Debugger First, let's create a new Windows Azure Cloud Project in Visual Studio and selected ASP.NET Web Role. Then create an ASP.NET WebForm application. Then right click on the cloud project and select "publish". In the publish dialog we need to make sure the application will be built in debug mode, since .NET assembly cannot be debugged in release mode. I enabled Remote Desktop as I will log into the virtual machine later in this post. It's NOT necessary for remote debug. And selected "advanced settings" tab, make sure we checked "Enable Remote Debugger for all roles". In WACS, a cloud service could be able to have one or more roles and each role could be able to have one or more instances. The remote debugger will be enabled for all roles and all instances if we checked. Currently there's no way for us to specify which role(s) and which instance(s) to enable. Finally click "publish" button. In the windows azure activity window in Visual Studio we can find some information about remote debugger. To attache remote process would be easy. Open the "server explorer" window in Visual Studio and expand "cloud services" node, find the cloud service, role and instance we had just published and wanted to debug, right click on the instance and select "attach debugger". Then after a while (it's based on how fast our Internet connect to Windows Azure Data Center) the Visual Studio will be switched to debug mode. Let's add a breakpoint in the default web page's form load function and refresh the page in browser to see what's happen. We can see that the our application was stopped at the breakpoint. The call stack, watch features are all available to use. Now let's hit F5 to continue the step, then back to the browser we will find the page was rendered successfully.   What Under the Hood Remote debugger is a WACS plugin. When we checked the "enable remote debugger" in the publish dialog, Visual Studio will add two cloud configuration settings in the CSCFG file. Since they were appended when deployment, we cannot find in our project's CSCFG file. But if we opened the publish package we could find as below. At the same time, Visual Studio will generate a certificate and included into the package for remote debugger. If we went to the azure management portal we will find there will a certificate under our application which was created, uploaded by remote debugger plugin. Since I enabled Remote Desktop there will be two certificates in the screenshot below. The other one is for remote debugger. When our application was deployed, windows azure system will open related ports for remote debugger. As below you can see there are two new ports opened on my application. Finally, in our WACS virtual machine, windows azure system will copy the remote debug component based on which version of Visual Studio we are using and start. Our application then can be debugged remotely through the visual studio remote debugger. Below is the task manager on the virtual machine of my WACS application.   Summary In this post I demonstrated one of the feature introduced in Windows Azure SDK 2.2, which is Remote Debugger. It allows us to attach our application from local machine to windows azure virtual machine once it had been deployed. Remote debugger is powerful and easy to use, but it brings more security risk. And since it's only available for debug build this means the performance will be worse than release build. Hence we should only use this feature for staging test and bug fix (publish our beta version to azure staging slot), rather than for production.   Hope this helps, Shaun All documents and related graphics, codes are provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. • Visual studio Real Dark mode (2010,2012,2013)

Soon we got some theme plugin  which make us able to modify the look of visual studio.   http://studiostyl.es/ already provide lots of wonderful color scheme that make you able to modify the theme. These themes are also work in webmatrix 2.  Webmatrix 2 have a plugin for themes that is made by Yishai Galatzer that is awesome for webmatrix 2.   In Visual studio 2012 we got a native dark mode. This means we can configure it without any plugin or requirement of anything. In this post I have a demo to show you how to use Dark mode that is part of Windows 7 (and windows 8 too).   Few months ago I show a problem that webmatrix 2 run slow. it’s run better in windows 7 dark mode. Windows 7 dark mode simply refer to right click > personalize > High contrast theme in bottom of windows. This setting make thing a little bit faster.   When you have set this you have seen that Visual studio doesn’t react good anymore because it’s color scheme is broken now. What you need now is import any theme from http://studiostyl.es/ When you import this this will look good as this.   This is the demo look of Windows 7 phone Express 2010. It will react same for future version as 2012, 2013. Now see your VS react look dark. Everything is dark now. Your Firefox and IE will not run totally in blackish mode but you can use chrome. Chrome have less effect of dark. Now if you benchmark it then you will feel that everything that take a long time in loading now run fast.   Note :- This is experiments. Remember to have settings backup before apply new theme. All thing I do is make my VS run faster. If you have any trouble or idea please comment it.   Thanks for read my post

  • Configure akamai to ignore favicon errors [on hold]

    - by Aki
We have hosted our services through akamai and have configured and alert in akamai to notify us of 404 errors. We dont want to serve favicon from our services (as they are rest webservices which are not consumed by humans, hence no point in serving favicons). But whenever thesewebservices are accessed from a browser the browser would send a request for the favicon, which ends up being logged as a 404 and akamai sends us an alert for this. Is there a way to configure akamai in a way that it understands that favicon 404s should not contribute to the alert?

  • When connecting to PPTP Centos via Windows 7 VPN, I get error 2147943625

    - by Charlie Dyason
The remote computer refused the network connection. phrase has been my arch enemy for the past week now I recently "bought" a VPS server, I gave up trying to configure it with OpenVPN, all the issues were making me lose my mind, so I tried the easier way with pptp, but i figure, both are leading to a dead end... I followed this post (many others too but this is the unlucky one), http://blog.secaserver.com/2011/10/install-vpn-pptp-server-centos-6/ and it all goes well with the setup, however, I run into this error when connecting to the VPN in Windows 7 here is a pic of the error: Image So I do not know what I have done wrong... • Programs don't have permissions when using absolute path

    - by Markos
I have asked this on askubuntu but didn't get a single response in days, so I will try it here. I have directory structure like this: /path/dir1 - all users in group1 must have rwx permissions, including subdirs and newly created dirs /path/dir1/dir2 - also users in group2 must have rwx permissions So what I tried is that I used ACL. getfacl /path/dir1 # file: /path/dir1 # owner: root # group: nogroup user::rwx group::--- group:group1:rwx mask::rwx other::--- default:user::rwx default:group::--- default:group:group1:rwx default:mask::rwx default:other::--- getfacl /path/dir1/dir2 # file: /path/dir1/dir2 # owner: root # group: nogroup user::rwx group::--- group:group1:rwx group:group2:rwx mask::rwx other::--- default:user::rwx default:group::--- default:group:group1:rwx default:group:group2:rwx default:mask::rwx default:other::--- That shows that I have granted rwx to group1 in /path/dir1 and rwx to group1 and group2 in /path/dir1/dir2. Now it gets interesting. Let's assume, that user2 is member of group2. If I issue commands as user2: cd /path/dir1/dir2 mkdir foo Then folder is succesfully created. However, if I do this: mkdir /path/dir1/dir2/foo I get permission denied error. I have tried extensively to resolve the problem. What I have found is that ACL is to blame. If I add permissions to group2 in /path/dir1 it starts to work. Also if I completely remove /path/dir1 ACL it starts to work. Obviously I am missing something VERY basic. I don't have much experience with linux, but this is a no-brainer on Windows. I have spent way too many hours to resolve this basic requirement. If you need more information, I will try to update the question, so feel free to ask!

  • FTP Error: 550 Cant change directory to /: Permission denied

    - by Alessandro Merletti de Palo
I installed Pureftpd and Ispconfig3 on my server. Starting from the point I'll probably uninstall ispconfig3 and make things directly on the server, now I am so stubborn I really want to see where's the problem. I created a ftp user through ispconfig, named amdpftp. It is related to a server user named web7. It logs in with username and password, but if i try to ls, it tells me: FTP Error: 550 Cant change directory to /: Permission denied I thought many things, like: 1. It is a problem of permissions. I went to /var/www/clients/client0/web7 , it was immutable and owned by root. Chattr -i and chown web7:client0 changed permissions, but with no effect. I restored to root:root, and made it immutable again. 2. I make some mistakes in the pureftpd installation: Wrong, it works pretty fine. The pureftpd.log doesn't seem to say anything bad. 3. The pureftpd.log file is only the pureftpd one, I should also check the mysqld functionality, as it is in a mysql database that user, password and working directory are stored. I enabled logging in the my.cnf, but also in the ispconfig database operation there wasn't anything wrong. Then I mkdir testftp in /var/www, chown web7:client0, and edited amdpftp user root directory from /var/www/clients/client0/web7 into /var/www/testftp . Guess what? It worked. So, now I know: 1. The PureFtpd works pretty fine 2. The mysql ispconfig database as well 3. The username and password of the virtual user created by ispconfig into pureftpd work 4. The correlation between username and password and the user web7 and the group client0 does work. What kind of magic has been cast upon the ispconfig directories [/var/www/clients/*] that block ftpusers to operate?

Is there any method to let apt-get ignore some base packages? Because those package is build by my original embedded system.(eg. busybox).

  • Supermicro IPMI on MBD-X8DAH+-F-O motherboard. Keyboard and mouse do not work after booting Windows Server 2008 R2

    - by LDelgado
Hell Everyone, I built a server with the mentioned motherboard. I installed Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise on this server. IPMI is integrated on the motherboard with its own dedicated NIC. I've got that NIC configured with its own IP address. I can remote into it using IPMI, and I can remotely control the server settings before booting the OS ( BIOS, RAID configuration, etc). When the OS boots, I lose the mouse and keyboard. I cannot use the keyboard or mouse when installing the OS either. So the Keyboard and Mouse only work when no OS is loaded. Once the OS loads I lose it - that is my problem. I've been doing some research and trying a few things, but I have not been successful in fixing this issue. I may be wrong, but based on the things I've found online, it seems that the problem could be caused by the way the OS handles USB. The server is headless. There is no keyboard, mouse, or monitor plugged into it. When I boot up the OS and remote into it, I cannot see a mouse or keyboard listed in the Device Manager. Based on what I've read, it seems that the OS should detect a mouse and a keyboard when connecting remotely via IPMI. The following are the solutions I've tried. Nothing has worked so far: I've updated the firmware of the IPMI component to the latest firmware - 1.33. I made sure that the mouse mode was set to Absolute (Windows OS). I've loaded the factory defaults several times. I've enabled Port64h/60h Emulation under the USB settings in the BIOS. I've disabled USB legacy support in the BIOS. I made sure the firewall wasn't blocking IPMI (disabled the firewall). And that's about it. I've found threads in some forums from people having the same issue as me, but they were not running the same OS. They were either running Linux or FreeBSD. Most of them fixed their problem by selecting the right mouse mode (Linux in their case). There was one other that solved the problem by disabling USB Mass Storage mode. He stated "When I set it to disable USB Mass Storage when no image is loaded, the ukbd came alive, and I'm typing this on the IPMI Console. " source: http://freebsd.1045724.n5.nabble.com/IPMI-Console-No-luck-once-OS-is-booted-td3967868.html I suspect the solution described in the previous paragraph is somehow related to my problem. I've found several threads on the internet with issues describing the same problem, but none of them were with Windows Server 2008 R2. Again, I may be wrong, but it seems like that could be the issue. I just don't know how I go about applying a solution in Windows Server 2008 R2. In any case, I could use your expertise. Maybe I am missing something, or maybe I'm on the right track. Your help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance,

  • Windows Server 2008 Task Scheduler Tasks Not Executing

    - by omatase
I've been having an intermittent problem for some time now with the Windows Task Scheduler that I can't work out. I use the task scheduler to run a C# app I've written that has various plugins used to ensure production systems are working. This task scheduler itself is actually a production system so I have one simple task that executes every 8 minutes to notify an external monitoring system that the task scheduler is still up. If this external service fails to receive an "all-clear" at least once every 15 minutes (or so I don't remember the exact number right now) it will message us that the monitoring system is down. In the past we've had intermittent "down" messages from time to time and each time I've investigated the cause I was unable to find any problems. So this time I wanted to ask the StackOverflow community since it doesn't look like I'll have luck on my own. This morning at 2:32 AM the task fired (exactly 8 minutes after the previous firing) however the task didn't fire again until 3:28. There are no errors that I can see in the Event Viewer at this time. When I look at the Task Scheduler log there are no errors there either. Here is what the log looks like though: Information 6/11/2011 3:28:56 AM 102 Task completed (2) d6cf2412-269e-48bf-9f40-4a863347baad Information 6/11/2011 3:28:56 AM 201 Action completed (2) I also have two other C# apps that run and check something each hour on the hour using task scheduler. If I look at the history for those I can see that they didn't execute at 3 AM either!
