  • How optimize queries with fully qualified names in t-sql?

    Whe I call: select * from Database.dbo.Table where NAME = 'cat' It takes: 200 ms And when I change database to Database in Management Studio and call it without fully qualified name it's much faster: select * from Table where NAME = 'cat' It takes: 17 ms Is there any way to make fully qualified queries faster without changing database?

  • C# String builder, displaying data nicely spaced out.

    Hello, I am wondering how exactly can i order my date nicely in a stringbuilder? Meaning something equal to ("{0,2}", ....) to space the data nicely out. I do not want to use consolewrites of any kind, so the class can be re-used in a form, console code etc... Currently i am using " " for the spacing, but in overall it does not give a proper display.   • Why do I have to specify virtual functions in the declaration of a derived class?

    Given the base class A and the derived class B: class A { public: virtual void f(); } class B : public A { public: void g(); } I get errors saying that f() is not declared in B while trying do define void B::f(). Do I have to declare f() explicitly in B? I think that if the interface changes I shouldn't have to correct the declarations in every single class deriving from it. Is there no way for B to get all the virtual functions' declarations from A automatically?

  • Redirecting domain (not google apps) to appengine

    Hi, I'm building a application that supports different domains. A small CMS that supports different domains. But what I can't figure out is how to redirect other domains that's outside google apps. I have a domain at google apps, that work's perfectly. When I create a cname that points at either my appid.appspot.com or www.appsdomain.com it just goes to google.com. What do I need to do so the other domains point to my appengine application. ..fredrik

    Hi, I have a web browser in my access form. I am embedding a gif file on it. but how ever i re size it there is a white border coming in the top and left side. The adjustments take place only at the bottom and right side. So when i embed a gif file with black background i end up getting a white background on the top and left sides, how do i make this go. thanks tksy

    Hi, Working with winforms I wonder if there is some way to prevent vertically resize of the form. I would like to allow user to resize form in all directions except vertically.Moreover I would like to allow vertically resize in upward direction, but not downward. I have tried to use maximumsize by setting it to: Me.maximumsize = new size(0,me.height) I set width to 0 because I want to allow user to change form width. Unfortunately it doesn't work. Any ideas?

    I'm building a chat application with codeigniter and doctrine. Tables: - User - User_roles - User_available Relations: ONE user have MANY roles. ONE user_available have ONE user. Users available for chatting will be in the user_available table. Problem: I need to get all users in in user_available that hasn't got role_id 7. So I need to express in DQL something like (this is not even SQL, just in words): SELECT * from user_available WHERE NOT user_available.User.Role.role_id = 7 Really stuck on this one EDIT: Guess I was unclear. The tables are already mapped and Doctrine does the INNER JOIN job for me. I'm using this code to get the admin that waited the longest but now I need the user: $admin = Doctrine_Query::create() ->select('c.id') ->from('Chat_available c') ->where('c.User.Roles.role_id = ?', 7) ->groupBy('c.id') ->orderBy('c.created_at ASC') ->fetchOne(); Now I need to get the user that waited the longest but this does NOT work $admin = Doctrine_Query::create() ->select('c.id') ->from('Chat_available c') ->where('c.User.Roles.role_id != ?', 7) ->groupBy('c.id') ->orderBy('c.created_at ASC') ->fetchOne();

  • Maven build fails on an Ant FTP task failure

I tried to specify skipFailedTransfers="true" ignoreNoncriticalErrors="true but these don't fix the problem and the build keeps failing. An Ant BuildException has occured: could not change remote directory: 550 /myBadDir: The system cannot find the file specified. Do you know how to instruct my maven build to don't care about this Ant task error

  • Strange Exception on getGeneratedKeys() with JDBC for MySQL 5.1

    Hello, I'm using JDBC to insert a row into a MYSQL database. I build a parameterized command, execute it and attempt to retrieve the auto generated keys as follows: String sql = "INSERT IGNORE INTO `users` (`email`, `pass-hash`) VALUES (?, ?)"; Connection conn = SQLAccess.getConnection(); PreparedStatement ps = conn.prepareStatement(sql); ps.setString(1, login); ps.setString(2, passHash); int count = ps.executeUpdate(); if (count == 1) { ResultSet rs = ps.getGeneratedKeys(); rs.next(); //some more stuff... } For some reason, I get the following SQLException on the line containing ResultSet rs = ps.getGeneratedKeys();: !Statement.Generated Keys Not Requested! Any thoughts? When I run the same query, as generated by running the app through the debugger, in a MySQL browser it executes without incident. Thanks, brian

  • Add UIView Above All Other Views, Including StatusBar

    I'm wanting to create a view (UIControl) which blocks all input and shows a UIActivityIndicatorView while authenticating a user. The UIActionSheet and UIAlertView both manage to add a black semi-transparent view over the top of all other views to block input and I'd like to do similar. I've tried adding my view to the top UIWindow in the [[UIApplication sharedApplication] windows] array, and while this does place it above the UIKeyboard if it's visible, it doesn't place it over the StatusBar (which makes sense). My next attempt was to extend UIAlertView, remove all of its subviews and set its layer.contents = nil, then add the ActivityIndicator as a subview. This works well, but I can't seem to kill the default bouncy transition of the UIAlertView when you call it to "show". Does anyone have any pointers towards the best way tackle this problem that gives me full control? Oh and I know blocking input is not great but I do ensure it's for a short period of time and it has the benefit of making it clear to the user that their action, which must complete for them to progress, is processing.

    My slides say that A recurssive call should always be on a smaller data structure than the current one There must be a non recurssive option if the data structure is too small You need a wrapper method to make the recurssive method accessible Just reading this from the slides makes no sence, especially seeing as it was a topic from before christmas! Could anyone try and clear up what it means please? Thank you

  • Gridview : Hyperlink and description in the same column cell

    Hi Guys, Apologies for the newbie question. My client wishes me to make a small change to the gridview on his http://www.flogitdonegal.com/SearchPage.aspx page. Note the way the Title column is a hyperlink to view more information. This comes from a 'BriefDescription' field in the database. How can I add 250 chars from the 'FullDescription' underneath the Title in the same cell, but I dont want it be a hyperlink. Essentially it will be 2 fields coming into the same column.   • EAGLView orientation changes and strange buffering

    I'm writing an app that offloads some heavy drawing into an EAGLView, and it does some lightweight stuff in UIKit on top. It seems that the GL render during an orientation change is cached somewhere, and I can't figure out how to get access to it. Specifically: After an orientation change, calling glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT) isn't enough to clear the GL display (drawing is cached somewhere?) How can I clear this cache? After an orientation change, glReadPixel() can no longer access pixels drawn before the orientation change. How can I get access to where this is stored?

  • What is the best forum plug-in solution for the Symfony framework?

    I'm looking for a good solution to integrate a forum into a symfony application. Something like phpBB would be excellent. I've seen phpBB plugins to integrate with symfony but that's not enough for my purposes, also, mapping database tables is a lame approach in my opinion. If anybody knows a good working forum component for Symfony then I would really apreciate it. :) Thanks!

    I'm trying to generate a large graph using graphviz. I have a generated text file with nodes defined in the dot format. When I try to generate a PNG file from the file using dot -Tpng:cairo graph.txt graph.png I get the error message: Error: Edge length 136228 larger than maximum 65535 allowed. Check for overwide node(s). How do I actually "check for overwide node(s)" ?
