  • Casting to specific asp.net page type

    I have an asp.net page with a code-behind class definition as follows: public partial class examplepage : System.Web.UI.Page I'd like to set a public property within the page that I can reference from other classes. My understanding is that if I cast to examplepage then I should be able to get at the public property that is specific to example page, as in: string test=((examplepage)HttpContext.Current.Handler).propertyX; However, when I try casting as above the compiler does not recognise examplepage. Can anyone tell me how I can cast? I have no specific namespaces defined. Thanks

  • What Implementation of Forth to use for Learning Forth

    I want to start learning Forth (like in this related article). I see that there are many implementations. I would like to use a ANS 1994 compatible version (if reasonable, but sticking to the standard might be good) small and compact implementation, I don't want a full OS. Windows easy to use, I am new to Forth ;-) Can anybody recommend any particular implementation?

  • Passing a variable from beggining to end - Paypal

    Hi all, I'be been at this for days and i cant seem to figure it out. All i want to do is when subscribe button is pushed, a variable is send ( post get i dont care ) payment is completed and landed on the success page, with my variable!   • Apache log file problem

    I've recently set up an Apache 2 web server and I noticed a quite a few lines in the error and access log that start with the follow sequence (but longer). Does anyone know where this comes from? ^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@ ....... My set up is an Apache 2 load balancer with mod_balancer enabled and two Apache 2 web servers. All three servers write to the same log files on a share located on a NFS. My first guess is that my problem has to do with it since it's the only difference that comes to mind from other set ups I've used in the past but I'm not sure.

  • Google API to figure how many times a keyword is searched.

    Is there a Google API tool to get how many times a specific term was searched between a certain interval (month/day/year)? From my understanding, what I'm looking for is similar to Google Keywords Tool, but I prefer not to fill in their captcha everytime, and I want to know only the statistics that suit the entered term. Does Google/others offer an API to do this?

  • Customizing doxygen output for the HTML Table of Contents

    I'm using doxygen to generate an API reference from source code, aiming to convert it into a CHM help file and eventually into a plugin for Eclipse. Unfortunately the default ordering and nesting of the classes, namespaces, etc. in the Table of Contents is not exactly ideal and I'd prefer to customize it if possible. By default, doxygen creates two indexes/menus for navigating the generated documentation. One is the common Table of Contents on the left frame and the other is the row of buttons at the top of each individual HTML page. The latter can be comfortably customized by editing the layout xml file as described in doxygen manual (see section 'Changing the layout of pages') but so far I've seen no way to do similar modifications for the Table of Contents. To use a precise example, I'm looking for a way to nest the three standard topics Class List, Class Hierarchy, and Class Members as subtopics inside a parent topic in the TOC, as is done by default in the menu system that's located on top of every page. I'd imagine this is not the most unusual issue and may have a known solution available. Thanks for your assistance!

  • TCP Flow control in AS3?

    I am currently working on a Flash socket client for a pre-existing service/standard. The service uses TCP flow control to throttle itself and the Flash socket is reading in everything as fast as it can despite not being able to process it as fast as it's being taken in. This causes the bytesAvailable on the socket to keep increasing and the server never knows that the client has fallen behind. In short, is there any way to limit the size of bytesAvailable for a Flash Socket object or throttle it in some other way? Note: Rewriting the server isn't a viable option at the current time as it's a standard and the client's utility drops immensely if server-side changes are needed

How do I set the tab to be custom. say I want second tab to be shown first. $('#tabs').tabs(2) does not work. i got that from this link Let say I click on a button inside tab1. Clicking on the button takes control back to an action and then control comes back to this page. When the control comes back...then is it possible to set a custom tab?. For example. in tab 1 I click something...go back to the action...and then I want to come back to tab 2.

  • Which process retrieves the silverlight xap file?

    We're using silverlight on our SharePoint site. When someone navigates to the page containing the silverlight object, they are prompted for credentials. Other pages work fine. I'm wondering if the client is trying to retrive the xap file (which is in a location the process hosting the web application has access to, but not the user). Is the xap file retrievd by the IIS process or the client?

    Coming from a Java background, this is the way I'm thinking: The server provides an object to the client. This object should be able to execute on the server. Server: private string _S = "A"; public interface IFoo { void Bar(); } private class Foo : IFoo { void Bar() { _S = "B";} } public IFoo GetFoo() { return new Foo(); } Client: IFoo foo = serverChannel.GetFoo(); foo.Bar(); Is this possible? Or is my understanding wrong and this is not how it works in WCF? What would be a better design?

  • Python: Set window focus on terminal

    Hey, I have a python application that opens some plots for me and then asks the user for input. The problem is, that after opening the plot, the focus isn't on the terminal anymore, so you have to click or tab to it manually. I would like to set the focus to the terminal window with python - is that possible? I'm using gnuplot.py, maybe there is an option to open the plot in the background? Thanks!

  • How to make awkward pivot of sql table in SQL Server 2005?

    I have to rotate a given table from an SQL Server but a normal pivot just doesn't work (as far as i tried). So has anybody an idea how to rotate the table into the desired format? Just to make the problem more complicated, the list of given labels can vary and it is possible that a new label name can come into at any given time.   • Decimal data type in Visual Basic 6.0

    I need to do calculations (division or multiplication) with very large numbers. Currently I am using Double and getting the value round off problems. I can do the same calculations accurately on C# using Decimal type. I am looking for a method to do accurate calculations in VB6.0 and I couldn't find a Decimal type in VB6.0. What is the data type used for doing arithmetic calculations with large values and without getting floating point round off problems? Thanks

  • cheap way to scale a rails application

    I have an application, that is becoming big, but until now, its not giving me a good revenue. That means, short money to re-invest on that. In this scenario, i found a way to make a "cheap distributed rails" deployment. I've got 4 VPS. All of them are in the same physical server. I added a load balance server running HAproxy in one dedicated VPS. There i pointed my virtual ip address where my domain name is associated. Behind this HAproxy i have more two VPS running my rails APP, passenger and memcache. Both apps servers are looking to the same database server, my 4th VPS. So with $44/month, i mounted a distributed environment. It won't be my final choice, but now, that the budget is short, is that a good way to deploy a rails application? Any pros or cons? It worth my $44/month?

  • Debugger for Iptables

    Hi, I'm looking for an easy way to follow a packet through the iptables rules. This is not so much about logging, because I don't want to log all traffic (and I only want to have LOG targets for very few rules). Something like Wireshark for Iptables.
