  • Packaging reference documentation with jar file

    We are porting our .NET library to a java equivalent and is now looking at how to distribute this port. Packaging the classes into a jar-file seems like best practice and we would then ship this jar file in a zip along with some license terms. But what about the documentation? In .NET land it seems like best practice to distribute the xml file that can be consumed by tooling (Visual Studio) but we can't seem to find such best practices for java. We have javadoc comments on our public classes and interfaces, so we are just looking for a way to generate and distribute these comments in a way that is developer friendly (we're thinking easily consumed from various IDEs). What are developers expecting and how do you best deliver this? We would really prefer to bundle the documentation along with the jar file and not have to host the documentation on our website EDIT: We would like for our documentation to appear inside the java IDEs so we want to provide the documentation in a way that integrates into the IDEs as gracefully as possible. In .NET land this is as an xml file placed next to the .dll file, but is there a similar concept for jar files that enables the integration into tooling? PS: We are developing in Eclipse and have an ant task doing the building and jar-file packaing in our automated build.

  • Reverse geocoding with Google Maps API

    I have found this code for reverse geocoding: var point = new GLatLng (lat[1],long[1]); var geocoder = new GClientGeocoder(); geocoder.getLocations (point, function(result) { alert (lat[1]+' '+long[1]+' '+result.address); }); But it pops the alert, saying that result.address is 'undefined'. Any ideas, what could be the problem?

    Hi All I get the error "list iterator not dereferencable" when using the following code: bool done = false; while (!_list_of_messages.empty() && !done) { // request the next message to create a frame // DEBUG ERROR WHEN NEXT LINE IS EXECUTED: Counted_message_reader reader = *(_list_of_messages.begin()); if (reader.has_more_data()) { _list_of_frames.push_back(new Dlp_data_frame(reader, _send_compressed_frames)); done = true; } else { _list_of_messages.pop_front(); } } (The line beginning with "Counted_message_reader..." is the one giving the problem) Note that the error doesn't always occur but seemingly at random times (usually when there's lots of buffered data). _list_of_messages is declared as follows: std::list<Counted_message_reader> _list_of_messages; In the surrounding code we could do pop_front, push_front and size, empty or end checks on _list_of_messages but no erase calls. I've studied the STL documentation and can't see any glaring problems. Is there something wrong with the above code or do I have a memory leak somewhere? Thanks! Appreciated!

  • Creating managed file transfer software in java

    Hello, I have been asked to do some POC on how we can provide a software solution which will be able to manage files. Manage files means it will be able to move files from source to destination servers. The client gave us 4 page document detailing what sort of software they are looking for. They dont want to use existing commercial softwares. They want to build their own customizable software. Has anybody worked on this type of project? Please provide your inputs on how should i approach this project. The software should be platform independent and should be built in java.

  • stringstream problem - vector iterator not dereferencable

    Hello I've got a problem with the following code snippet. It is related to the stringstream "stringstream css(cv.back())" bit. If it is commented out the program will run ok. It is really weird, as I keep getting it in some of my programs, but if I just create a console project the code will run fine. In some of my Win32 programs it will and in some it won't (then it will return "vector iterator not dereferencable" but it will compile just fine). Any ideas at all would be really appreciated.   • NHibernate mapping for subclasses and joined-subclasses

    In a project that I am working on, I have the following entities: Analyst, Client and Contractor. Each inherit from a base class User. public abstract class User { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual string Username { get; set; } public virtual string FullName { get; set; } } I then have the other classes inheriting from the base class as: public class Analyst : User { // Empty class. There are no additional properties for an analyst. } public class Client : User { // Empty class. There are no additional properties for a client. } public class Contractor : User { public int TotalJobs { get; set; } public int JobsInProgress { get; set; } } For the above classes, I have the following table structure: USER ---- UserId Username FullName UserType (1 = Analyst, 2 = Client, 3 = Contractor) CONTRACTOR ---------- UserId TotalJobs JobsInProgress There are no tables for Analyst and Client classes. I would like to know how I can write the NHibernate mapping file for the Contractor class. For the other classes, I have created a User mapping file and added Client and Analyst as sub-classes. How can I map the Contractor class?

  • PHP: find 2 or more numbers from a list of N numbers that can add up towards a given ammount

    Hi Guys, I am trying to create a little php script that can make my life a bit easier. Basically, I am going to have 21 text fields on a page where I am going to input 20 different numbers. In the last field I will enter a number let's call it the TOTAL AMMOUNT. All I want the script to do is to point out which numbers from the 20 fields added up will come up to TOTAL AMMOUNT. Example: field1= 25.23 field2= 34.45 field3= 56.67 field4= 63.54 field5= 87.54 .... field20= 4.2 Total Ammount= 81.90 Output: field1+fields3=81.90 Some of the fields might have 0 as value because sometimes I only need to enter 5-15 fields and the maximum will be 20. If someone can help me out with the php code for this, will be greatly appreciated.

  • Exchange 2003 SP2 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Domain Controllers

    I'm looking at adding two Windows Server 2008 R2 Domain Controllers into our Windows Server 2003 domain to support our Exchange 2003 SP2 server and replace a retiring Windows Server 2003 Server. Our Domain and Forest functional levels are currently Windows Server 2003, which supports domain controller operating systems (Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2003) according to the "Appendix of Functional Level Features" on Technet . So there should not be an issue other than running adprep /forestprep and adprep /domain.... right!? But, according to the Exchange Server Supportability Matrix, Windows Server 2008 R2 Active Directory Servers are not supported as global catalog servers or domain controllers in a Exchange 2003 SP2 environment!!!??? This was a shock to me... How can Windows Server 2008 R2 be a DC for a Windows Server 2003 domain and forest, but not communicate with an Exchange 2003 SP2 server? Hopefully, I'm not the first to see this issue (or maybe I am), but I know a lot of Exchange 2003 admins will not be happy if there is not a work around... or is Microsoft trying to push everyone automatically to Exchange 2010...

  • Auto-versioning of static content with JBoss

    As per the Q&A here, I'd like to implement a similar auto-versioning system for a web app running in JBoss 5. Is there anything already out there to do this sort of thing, or will I need to write something myself? To be clear: I am not using PHP. Not knowing much about PHP, I'm not sure what the Tomcat/JBoss analogs of PHP's .htaccess, etc. are. If I do have to write my own auto-versioning, where would I start? The principle is clear to me - rewriting the URL using the file's timestamp, but I don't know much about URL rewriting with JBoss/Tomcat.

    Hello, Have a look a this simple example. I don't quite understand why o1 prints "Hello Alex" twice. I would think that because of the default self.a is always reset to the empty list. Could someone explain to me what's the rationale here?   • Convert byte array from Oracle RAW to System.Guid?

    My app interacts with both Oracle and SQL Server databases using a custom data access layer written in ADO.NET using DataReaders. Right now I'm having a problem with the conversion between GUIDs (which we use for primary keys) and the Oracle RAW datatype. Inserts into oracle are fine (I just use the ToByteArray() method on System.Guid). The problem is converting back to System.Guid when I load records from the database. Currently, I'm using the byte array I get from ADO.NET to pass into the constructor for System.Guid. This appears to be working, but the Guids that appear in the database do not correspond to the Guids I'm generating in this manner. I can't change the database schema or the query (since it's reused for SQL Server). I need code to convert the byte array from Oracle into the correct Guid.

  • Playing wav files with AudioServices in iPhone

    Hi All, I am trying to play two .wav files in my appllication, but i am only able to play the first wav file , the second file is not at all playing. I have added the AudioToolbox framework.   • git create branch with untracked files

    I've a master branch with a .gitignore file with directory X listed in it. (X is not being tracked). When I try to add a branch tracking a remote using the command git checkout -b mybranch origin/mybranch The remote branch is tracking X directory, and hence this checkout fails with the error Untracked working tree file 'X' would be overwritten by merge. what is the way out ?   • Using CHDataStructures.framework on iPhone

    Hi, I'm new to iPhone programming and I'm trying to use CHDataStructures in my project. But I'm running into some issues: When I directly try to build it right after download I get the error "Foundation/Foundation.h" no such file or directory. The Active SDK is "Use Base SDK" and the active architecture is x86_64. I believe I should set the Active SDK to the iPhone SDK but it isn't listed there; At some point (I don't remember how) I managed to tweak it and I got the iPhone SDK (simulator) in the active SDK but when I tried to build it I got the following error: "target specifies product type 'com.apple.product-type.framework', but there's no such product type for the 'iphonesimulator' platform"; And now I'm stuck.
