I'm thinking mainly about things that can be watched for programaticaly, rather than manually inspecting logs. For example: - Manual/automated hack attempts - Data skimming - Bot registrations (that have evaded captcha etc.) - Other unwanted behaviour Just wondering what most people would consider practical and effective..

  • How to convert DateTime to shortdatetime in C#??

    I have a column in my datatable which is of DateTime Type. I only want the DatePart, hence when I use the ToShortDateTimeString it converts to short date but of string type. Hence when i reassign the string to the column of the datatable it again appends 12:00:00 to it. I cannot change the column type in my datatable. Is there any way to convert DateTime to ShortDateTime directly without converting to string?????

  • php script randomly hangs up

    I install php 5 (more precisely 5.3.1) as apache module. After this one of my application becomes randomly hang up on mysql_connect - sometimes works, sometimes no, sometimes reload of page helps. How can this be fixed? I use Windows Vista, Apache/2.2.14 (Win32) PHP/5.3.1 with php module, MySql 5.0.67-community-nt. After a minute I obtain the error message: Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 60 seconds exceeded in path\to\mysqlcon.php on line 9 I run MySql locally and heavy load could not be a reason: SHOW PROCESSLIST shows about 3 process SHOW VARIABLES LIKE 'MAX_CONNECTIONS' is 100. UPDATE: At first I thought that this is connected with mysql_connect. But now I can't say for certain. More difficult thing is when I insert the line to debug: $fh = fopen("E://_debugLog", 'a'); fwrite($fh, __FILE__ . " : " . __LINE__ . "\n"); fclose($fh); script start working near that location as a rule.

  • Java Collections.Rotate with an array doesn't work

    I have the following java code: import java.util.Arrays; import java.util.Collections; public class Test { public static void main(String[] args) { int[] test = {1,2,3,4,5}; Collections.rotate(Arrays.asList(test), -1); for(int i = 0; i < test.length; i++) { System.out.println(test[i]); } } } I want the array to be rotated, but the output I get is 1 2 3 4 5 Why is this? And is there an alternative solution?

  • How to get smartcard reader name in Windows 7 using C#?

    Hi! I'm trying to make a C# program which will use a C .dll (unfortunately, the .dll doesn't have good documentation) to access a smart card. One of the functions of the .dll uses name of the reader as argument. My problem is that I don't know how to get the name. After looking for answers I found something similar to what I need in an example here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa379803%28VS.85%29.aspx I'm looking for a way to get szReader value as described in the aforementioned example using C#. Can anyone help me or at least point me in the right direction?

  • C++ Namespaces & templates question

    Hi! I have some functions that can be grouped together, but don't belong to some object / entity and therefore can't be treated as methods. So, basically in this situation I would create a new namespace and put the definitions in a header file, the implementation in cpp file. Also (if needed) I would create an anonymous namespace in that cpp file and put all additional functions that don't have to be exposed / included to my namespace's interface there. See the code below (probably not the best example and could be done better with another program architecture, but I just can't think of a better sample...) Sample code (header) namespace algorithm { void HandleCollision(Object* object1, Object* object2); } Sample code (cpp) #include "header" // Anonymous namespace that wraps // routines that are used inside 'algorithm' methods // but don't have to be exposed namespace { void RefractObject(Object* object1) { // Do something with that object // (...) } } namespace algorithm { void HandleCollision(Object* object1, Object* object2) { if (...) RefractObject(object1); } } So far so good. I guess this is a good way to manage my code, but I don't know what should I do if I have some template-based functions and want to do basically the same. If I'm using templates, I have to put all my code in the header file. Ok, but how should I conceal some implementation details then? Like, I want to hide RefractObject function from my interface, but I can't simply remove it's declaration (just because I have all my code in a header file)... The only approach I came up with was something like: Sample code (header) namespace algorithm { // Is still exposed as a part of interface! namespace impl { template <typename T> void RefractObject(T* object1) { // Do something with that object // (...) } } template <typename T, typename Y> void HandleCollision(T* object1, Y* object2) { impl::RefractObject(object1); // Another stuff } } Any ideas how to make this better in terms of code designing?

  • Setting spinners onResume doesn't work

    Hello! I want to save text from 2 edittexts(et1,et2) and selection from 3 spinners(spinnerm,spinner and spinner2) onPause and setting them back onResume. Text from edittexts is saved correctly, only spinner selection don't work as desired.   • Get CSS style from PHP

    I am parsing pages using Simple DOM parser. It is neat, but I would like to get the applied css style for each element. Not only the inline styles, but every style it applies to that element, being it inline, in-page or external. Is there a class that does that? If not, how would you do it? I do not really care about overriding styles, cascade, or browser specific styles. Having all the directly applied styles would suffice.

  • Is there an autorelease pool in class methods?

    I have an class method which generates an UIView, like this: + (UIImage*)imageWithFileName:(NSString*)imgFile { UIImage *img = nil; NSBundle *appBundle = [NSBundle mainBundle]; NSString *resourcePath = [appBundle pathForResource:imgFile ofType:nil]; if (resourcePath != nil) { NSURL *imageURL = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:resourcePath]; NSData *data = [[NSData alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:imageURL]; img = [UIImage imageWithData:data]; // should be autoreleased!! [data release]; } return img; } However, when I use this, the image data is NEVER freed. There is definitely a memory bug with this, although I didn't break any memory management rule I am aware of. My guess is that because this is a class method which gets called from instance methods, There is no active autorelease pool in place or it's one that only gets drained when I quit the app. Could that be right?

    Hello, I would like to perform a certain action when UITextField becomes empty (user deletes everything one sign after another or uses the clear option). I thought about using two methods - (BOOL)textField:(UITextField *)textField shouldChangeCharactersInRange:(NSRange)range replacementString:(NSString *)string; and - (BOOL)textFieldShouldClear:(UITextField *)textField; from UITextFieldDelegate I'm not sure how to detect the situation when the text field becomes empty? I tried with: if ([textField.text length] == 0) but it does't work as the fisrt of the above methods is called before the sign is deleted from the text field. Any ideas?

  • Processing files with C# in folders whose names contain spaces

    There are plenty of C# samples that show how to manipulate files and directories but they inevitably use folder paths that contain no spaces. In the real world I need to be able to process files in folders with names that contain spaces. I have written the code below which shows how I have solved the problem.   • Postpone email when domains equal

    HI. For a client i'm developing 4 different email agents for his web portal. I need to send a lot of emails to clients (couple of thousands in the future) which are stored in a database. Sending is fine, but I would like to work out a PHP script which sends emails, but also stores the previous email domain and if they equal than postpone that email for sending later to prevent spam filters. I'm going to load that script with cron and I already set_time_limit(0); Big thanks for replies with ideas ;)

  • How to have an excel addin read rows from a worksheet until no more data?

    I've started writing a Com addin for Excel 2003 using C#. I'm looking for a code example showing how to read in cell data from the active worksheet. I've seen that you can write code like this: Excel.Range firstCell = ws.get_Range("A1", Type.Missing); Excel.Range lastCell = ws.get_Range("A10", Type.Missing); Excel.Range worksheetCells = ws.get_Range(firstCell, lastCell); to grab a range of cells. What I could use help with is how to read the cell data when you don't know how many rows of data there are. I may be able to determine the starting row that the data will be begin at, but there will be an unkown number of rows of data to read. Could someone provide me w/ an example of how to read rows from the worksheet until you come across a row of empty cells? Also does anyone know how to grab the range of cells the user has selected? Any help would be greatly appreciated. This seems like a powerful dev tool, but I'm having trouble finding detailed documentation to help me learn it :)

I assume this unexpected result is from printing the unsigned long long int. How do you printf an unsigned long long int?

  • Using installshield to replace a same-versioned DLL in the GAC

    We recently put out an update of one of our apps with a "test" DLL from a third party. The third party does not update their assembly versions on the dll's, only the file versions, so multiple apps can reference different "versions" of it. However, the GAC still allows us to keep the newest version, because it also checks the file version which is always updated. What happened is we were not ready to release this DLL, but it got out there on some customer machines. I would like to put our current live version back out there, but it has an older file version (and the same assembly version) as the test DLL. We have multiple apps referencing this DLL, so I can't simply delete it and drop in the new one. Is there a way to replace the DLL in the GAC? I'm using installshield 2009. Perhaps some sort of custom action upon install?

Application context shutdown. It's possible that my password is not correct, but I'm pretty sure it is. Does anyone know what the problem could be, and is there some way I can verify that the password I'm using is correct?

  • RabbitMQ serializing messages from queue with multiple consumers

    Hi there, I'm having a problem where I have a queue set up in shared mode and multiple consumers bound to it. The issue is that it appears that rabbitmq is serializing the messages, that is, only one consumer at a time is able to run. I need this to be parallel, however, I can't seem to figure out how. Each consumer is running in its own process. There are plenty of messages in the queue. I'm using py-amqplib to interface with RabbitMQ. Any thoughts?
