  • Changing property type in class that implements interface with object type property.

    I know the title is a bit confusing but bare with me. (I'm up for suggestions on a new title lol) I'm writing a TemplateEngine that will allow me to use my own markup in text based files. I'm wanting to add controls as plugins as the application matures. Currently i've got a structure like the following: interface IControl string Id object Value class Label : IControl string Id string Value class Repeater : IControl string Id List<IControl> Value Now you'll see the strange part right away in the Repeater class with the Value property. I was hoping that having the Value type as object in the interface would allow me the flexibility to expand the controls as i go along. The compiler doesn't like this and for good reason i guess. Does anyone have any suggestions how to accomplish this? Note: Please don't go into suggesting things like use Spark View Engine for templating. There is a reason i'm creating extra work for myself.

  • CodeIgniter Unable to Access Error Message Error

    Hi, I've created this registration form for registering new users to a website using CodeIgniter. My problem is, whenever I enter a username that already exists in my database, instead of giving me my error message which explains this to the user, it instead gives me this error message: Unable to access an error message corresponding to your field name Here are snippets of the code from my controller.   • Global Search In Android

    Hi, I want Messaging (Sms/Mms) application to be part of the global search i.e., when I type a word in the omni search box (on home screen), it should show me the messages which has that word. Currently, we have local search within messaging app which works fine but how do I make messaging globally searchable. I tried refereing searchable dictornary example and also some online resource but didn't help. Please provide me the steps to make messaging application part of global search. Regards, Sunil.

    I have developed several custom controls in a wpf application that use triggers. what is the fastest way to convert the code so that I have a single code base that works both in the wpf application and the silverlight applicaiton.   • Chrome in Linux Ubuntu stays in Full screen mode

    I've recently installed the latest version of Chrome for Linux on my Ubuntu 9.10 installation. The only problem is is that it stays in Full Screen mode no matter what I do. I pressed F11 but it does not want to return to normal mode. I even completely uninstalled it using synaptic package manager en re-downloaded it and still nothing. Any suggestions will be welcome.

  • Rails creating a new session every page view

    Hi everyone, I'm following the Agile RoR book somewhat to apply it to a project for school. It's going good until I get to sessions. I continually get Authenticity Invalid Tokens and when I look at my sessions table in the database, there's a new session being created every time I refresh the page. Is that right or is something messed up? Thanks.

    I am getting this exception from a MySqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery(): Index and length must refer to a location within the string. Parameter name: length The command text is as follows: INSERT INTO accounts (username, password, salt, pin, banned, staff, logged_in, points_a, points_b, points_c, birthday) VALUES ('adminb', 'aea785fbcac7f870769d30226ad55b1aab850fb0979ee00481a87bc846744a646a649d30bca5474b59e4292095c74fa47ae6b9b3a856beef332ff873474cc0d3', 'cb162ef55ff7c58c7cb9f2a580928679', '', '0, '0', '0', '0', '0', '0', '2010-04-18') Sorry for the long string, it is a SHA512 hash. I tried manually adding this data in the table from MySQL GUI tools, and it worked perfectly. I see no "out of range" problem in these strings. Does anybody see something wrong?

    Hello, I need to make a cvs file in cocoa. To see how to set it up I created one in Numbers and opened it with text edit it looked like this: Results,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,, A,10,,,,,,,,,,, B,10,,,,,,,,,,, C,10,,,,,,,,,,, D,10,,,,,,,,,,, E,10,,,,,,,,,,, So to replicate this in cocoa I used: NSString *CVSData = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"Results\n,,,,,,,,,,,,\nA,%@,,,,,,,,,,,\nB,%@,,,,,,,,,,,\nC,%@,,,,,,,,,,,\nD,%@,,,,,,,,,,,\nE,%@,,,,,,,,,,,",[dataA stringValue], [dataB stringValue], [dataC stringValue], [dataD stringValue], [dataE stringValue]]; Then [CVSData writeToFile:[savePanel filename] atomically:YES]; But when I try to open the saved file with Numbers I get the error “Untitled.cvs” could not be handled because Numbers cannot open files in the “Numbers Document” format. Could this be something with the way cocoa is encoding the file? Thanks for any help

  • Hierarchy / Flyweight / Instancing Problem in Python

    Here is the problem I am trying to solve, (I have simplified the actual problem, but this should give you all the relevant information). I have a hierarchy like so: 1.A 1.B 1.C 2.A 3.D 4.B 5.F (This is hard to illustrate - each number is the parent, each letter is the child). Creating an instance of the 'letter' objects is expensive (IO, database costs, etc), so should only be done once. The hierarchy needs to be easy to navigate. Children in the hierarchy need to have just one parent. Modifying the contents of the letter objects should be possible directly from the objects in the hierarchy. There needs to be a central store containing all of the 'letter' objects (and only those in the hierarchy). 'letter' and 'number' objects need to be possible to create from a constructor (such as Letter(**kwargs) ). It is perfectably acceptable to expect that when a letter changes from the hierarchy, all other letters will respect the same change. Hope this isn't too abstract to illustrate the problem. What would be the best way of solving this?   • ASP.Net MVC Toggling IsAjaxRequest property based on file upload?

    I have a form all setup to upload a file and that is working fine. However the way my form is submitted is through AJAX. The button that submits is still a type="submit" in case JS is off. When I save my form the controller determines whether the IsAjaxRequest is true and if so returns some JSON otherwise it does a RedirectToAction. When I don't specify a filepath in my input type="file" it considers IsAjaxRequest as true. If there is a filepath set then it thinks that IsAjaxRequest is false. How is it determining that? My other problem is that when it thinks IsAjaxRequest is false and does a RedirectToAction("Index") I don't actually get sent to the Index view. Thanks

    Hi, I am getting java.io.EOFException while reading a binary block from lucene index. I am storing java object as byte-array in lucene index field and reading it when hit occurs. Here is stack trace : Caused by: java.io.EOFException at java.io.ObjectInputStream$PeekInputStream.readFully(ObjectInputStream.java:2281) at java.io.ObjectInputStream$BlockDataInputStream.readShort(ObjectInputStream.java:2750) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readStreamHeader(ObjectInputStream.java:780) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.(ObjectInputStream.java:280) at org.terracotta.modules.searchable.util.SerializationUtil$OIS.(SerializationUtil.java:20) I have some background threads which write into index. But i buffer them and then write them at once like 1000. Occasionally I also issue optimize() on index. When I write, I am re-opening IndexReader.   • How do I create a no-javascript url hash handler for my website?

    Ok, I'm not sure how this is normally done. But I've got a script that basically empties a div of content and then loads content from a div from a separate webpage, without reloading the current page. This works great. It's taken from this example actually, from net tuts (great site btw) http://nettuts.s3.amazonaws.com/011_jQuerySite/sample/index.html And the guy who wrote this even though about handling the url's since the url don't change when using his method. So he wrote a javascript snippet that looks up the url and loads the content accoringly. Which is not working btw. But I was thinking about people who don't have javascript enabled, or iPhone and iPad users ;) Copying URLs and sending to a friend won't work at all. So how is this typically done? And can it be done without javascript? Possibly by php?

  • How to display onbeforeunload dialog when appropriate?

    I've got an editor in javascript on my webpage and I would like to ask user if he/she wants to leave the page even if there are unsaved changes. I know I can add custom message to the "onbeforeunload dialog" this way: window.onbeforeunload = function() { return 'You have unsaved changes!'; } (Source) but I want to display the dialog only where there really are some unsaved changes.   • Problem with entityForName & ManagedObjectContext when extending tutorial material

    Afternoon all, I tried to add a second data entity to the persistent store in the (locations) coredata tutorial code, and then access this in a new view. I think that I've followed the tutorial, and checked that I'm doing a clean build etc, but can't see what to change to prevent it crashing. I'm afraid I'm at my wits end with this one, and can't seem to find the step that I've missed. I've pasted the header and code files below, please let me know if I need to share any more of the code.   • Hbase / Hadoop Query Help

    I'm working on a project with a friend that will utilize Hbase to store it's data. Are there any good query examples? I seem to be writing a ton of Java code to iterate through lists of RowResult's when, in SQL land, I could write a simple query. Am I missing something? Or is Hbase missing something?
