  • How can I find all the supported weights of a Font in Java?

    How can I find all the available font weights for a given font in Java? The TextAttribute for font weight lists 11 different weight constants, way more than just Font.PLAIN and Font.BOLD. I'd like to know which ones actually exist for a given font family, so I can make sure I'm only using weights for which a font face exists. The getAttributes() and getAvailableAttributes() methods in Font will only show me whether or not the Font supports the FONT_WEIGHT attribute, not which weight values it supports. If I just pass in a particular value to see what I get back, I don't have any guarantee that I'll get what I asked for. The TextAttribute class says "The values for WEIGHT, WIDTH, and POSTURE are interpolated by the system, which can select the 'nearest available' font or use other techniques to approximate the user's request."

  • BB Code Parser (in formatting phase) with jQuery jammed due to messed up loops most likely

    Greetings everyone, I'm making a BB Code Parser but I'm stuck on the JavaScript front. I'm using jQuery and the caret library for noting selections in a text field. When someone selects a piece of text a div with formatting options will appear. I have two issues. Issue 1. How can I make this work for multiple textfields? I'm drawing a blank as it currently will detect the textfield correctly until it enters the $("#BBtoolBox a").mousedown(function() { } loop. After entering it will start listing one field after another in a random pattern in my eyes. !!! MAIN Issue 2. I'm guessing this is the main reason for issue 1 as well. When I press a formatting option it will work on the first action but not the ones afterwards. It keeps duplicating the variable parsed. (if I only keep to one field it will never print in the second) Issue 3 If you find anything especially ugly in the code, please tell me how to improve myself. I appriciate all help I can get.   • Close application on error

    I’m currently writing an application for the Android platform that requires a mounted SD card (or ExternalStorage). I know that it might not be the best way to require something like that, but the application will work with quite a lot of data, and I don’t even want to think about storing that on the device’s storage. Anyway, to ensure that the application won’t run without the external storage, I do a quick check in the activity’s onCreate method. If the card is not mounted, I want to display an error message and then quit the application. I read some topics before on closing an application, and I know that it maybe shouldn’t happen like that. But how should I instead prevent the application from continuing to run? How do you close the application correctly when an error occurs?

  • How to destroy tinymce completely?

    I am working on something like this: On a webpage, there is an article wrapped in a DIV, an Edit button. When a user click on the Edit button, insert an textarea via javascript, load the html of the DIV into the textarea, load and initial tinymce. When the user click on the Save button, save and update the article via ajax, and destroy tinymce completely. The problem is that, I failed to destroy tinymce completely. When the user click on the Edit button again, a new tinymce instance will load while the old instance is just hidden. BTW, I am using the jQuery version of tinymce

  • Windows7 NFS with linux server

    Hi. I have an Ubuntu server and want to access its web folder (/var/www). What I done: installed nfs-kernel-server, nfs-common and portmap (as in faq) Setted up /etc/exports: /var/www 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0(rw,no_roow_squash,async,subtree_check) Then: sudo exportfs -ra Then: sudo /etc/init.d/nfs-kernle-server restart I checked, if all works on same machine: sudo 192.168.1.101:/var/www /mnt/test Then accessed /mnt/test and seen that all data present and all ok. Next, I tried to connect this folder to windows7 using NFS client: First, I checked, that linux exported path successfully: showmount -e 192.168.1.101 /var/www 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 All ok, go to mount: mount -o anon 192.168.1.101:/var/www z: Console said, that all success.. but. I cant access drive Z (drive exists in the system and point to right folder). When I try to access drive Z my Explorer just going to sleep and then say that timeout expired. Help me please.

    I have a windows 7 operating system as a test environment. I have SQL Server EE installed with two instances, named as test and production. I took a full backup from AdventureWorks database from test instance and I tried to restore it into the production instance: RESTORE DATABASE [testikanta] FROM DISK = N'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.SQL2008TESTI\MSSQL\Backup\AdventureWorks.bak' WITH FILE = 1, NOUNLOAD, REPLACE, STATS = 10 GO I got an error saying: Msg 3634, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The operating system returned the error '32(failed to retrieve text for this error. Reason: 15105)' while attempting 'RestoreContainer::ValidateTargetForCreation' on 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.SQL2008TESTI\MSSQL\DATA\AdventureWorks_Data.mdf'.   • Django Template tag, generating template block tag

    Hi Guys, Currently a bit stuck, wondering if anyone can assist. I am using django-adminfiles. Which is a near little application. I want to use it to insert images into posts/articles/pages for a site i am building. How django-adminfiles works is it inserts a placeholder i.e <<< ImageFile and this gets rendered using a django template. It also has the feature of inserting custom options i.e (Insert Medium Image) , i figured i would used this to automatically resize images and include it in the post (similar to how WP does it). Django-adminfiles makes use of sorl.thumbnail app to generate thumbnails. So i have tried testing generating thumbnails: The current template that is used to render the inserted image is: {% spaceless %} <img src="{{ upload.upload.url }}" width="{{ upload.width }}" height="{{ upload.height }}" class="{{ options.class }}" class="{{ options.size }}" alt="{% if options.alt %}{{ options.alt }}{% else %}{{ upload.title }}{% endif %}" /> {% endspaceless %} I tried modifying this to: {% load thumbnail %} {% spaceless %} <img src="{% thumbnail upload.upload.url 200x50 %}" width="{{ upload.width }}" height="{{ upload.height }}" class="{{ options.class }}" class="{{ options.size }}" alt="{% if options.alt %}{{ options.alt }}{% else %}{{ upload.title }}{% endif %}" /> {% endspaceless %} I get the error: Exception Value: Caught an exception while rendering: Source file: '/media/uploads/DSC_0014.jpg' does not exist. I figured the thumbnail needs the absolute path so tried putting that in the template, and that works. i.e this works: {% thumbnail '/Users/me/media/uploads/DSC_0014.jpg' 200x50 %} So basically i need to generate the absolute path to the file give the relative path (to web root). You could do this by passing the MEDIA_ROOT setting to the template, but the reason i want to do a template tag is to programmatically set the image size.

  • User control always crashes Visual Studio

    I'm trying to open a user control in one of our projects. It was created, I believe, in VS 2003, and the project has been converted to VS2008. I can view the code fine, but when I try to load the designer view, VS stops responding and I have to close it with the task manager. I have tried leaving it running for several minutes, but it does not do anything. I ran "devenv /log" but didn't see anything unusual in the log. I can't find a specific error message anywhere. Any idea what the problem might be? Is there a lightweight editing mode I might be able to use or something? The reason I need to have a look at the visual representation of this control is to decide where to insert some new components. I've tried googling it and searching SO, but either I don't know what to search or there is nothing out there about this. Any help is appreciated. (The strangest thing is that the user control seems to load fine in another project which references, but VS crashes as soon as I even so much as click on it in that project.)

In my app I have two listactivities which uses two different listviews: public class Activity1 extends ListActivity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { try{ super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.listview1); } public class Activity2 extends ListActivity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { try{ super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.listview2); } } As required by android, listview must have an ID which is exactly "@android:id/list". If I set the listview in both listview1 and listview2 with the same ID, then they will end up using the same format of listview, which is not what I want. But if I set one of the IDs to be sth like "@+id/listview2", android gave me the error: java.lang.RuntimeException: Your content must have a ListView whose id attribute is 'android.R.id.list' How do I handle this dilema?

  • Writing file from HttpWebRequest periodically vs. after download finishes?

  • String munging in Objective-C with NSAttributedString.

    I have an NSAttributedString s and an integer i and I'd like a function that takes s and i and returns a new NSAttributedString that has a (stringified) i prepended to s. It looks like some combination of -stringWithFormat:, -initWithString:, and -insertAttributedString: would do it but I'm having trouble piecing it together without a lot of convolution and temporary variables. More generally, pointers to guides on making sense of NSAttributedString and NSMutableAttributedString would be awesome.

  • PHP gallery, thumbnail listing

    Hi everyone, I am planning a dynamic PHP photo gallery and having difficulty deciding on the best way to display the thumbnails after they have been retrieved via MySQL. I considered using an inline unordered list but this resulted in the thumbs being stacked one on top of the other (touching). Also tried a table but not sure how I would start the next row after x number of thumbnails. Any suggestions on page layout for this purpose? I will be using Lightbox to cycle through the photos themselves, that isn't the issue. Also, would a while() loop be best for fetching the list of thumbs and inserting the appropriate HTML?     I have a circular dependency in my code, and I'm not sure how to resolve it. I am developing a game. A NPC has three components, responsible for thinking, sensing, and acting. These components need access to the NPC controller to get access to its model, but the controller needs these components to do anything. Thus, both take each other as arguments in their constructors. ISenseNPC sense = new DefaultSenseNPC(controller, worldQueryEngine); IThinkNPC think = new DefaultThinkNPC(sense); IActNPC act = new DefaultActNPC(combatEngine, sense, controller); controller = new ControllerNPC(act, think); (The above example has the parameter simplified a bit.) Without act and think, controller can't do anything, so I don't want to allow it to be initialized without them. The reverse is basically true as well. What should I do?
