  • Why does string::find return size_type and not an iterator?

    In C++, why does string::find return size_type and not an iterator? It would make sense because functions like string::replace or string::insert take iterators as input, so you could find some character and immediately pass the returned iterator to replace, etc. Also, std::find returns an iterator -- why is std::string::find different?

  • Is it safe to modify CCK tables by hand?

    I'm not intimately familiar with CCK but I have a one-time custom setup and know that I could get some performance gains if I created indexes and changed the field type and length of some of the fields in my CCK table. Is it save to modify this table at all or will I end up destroying something in the process? Thanks

  • Spring webflow 1.0 - Downloading a file

    I am using spring webflow 1.0. I am uploading a csv file, parsing it, and displying results before proceeding. The user has an option to download a csv file that contains the records that did not pass validation. When I click the link in a JSP to download this file, webflow invokes a form Action. The form action writes out a file via getting the output stream off the response: HttpServletResponse response = ((ServletExternalContext) context.getExternalContext()).getResponse(); I do not want to leave the jsp I'm currently on. I just want to download the file. In other words, I do not want to transition to another state. I just want to serve the dynamically rendered file. Everything works (I don't leave the page, and I download the file), but I'm getting the following error in my console: _pEncydKfggPHJo8=org.springframework.webflow.engine.NoMatchingTransitionException: No transition was matched on the event(s) signaled by the [1] action(s) that executed in this action state 'downloadErrorReportAction' of flow 'myFlow'; transitions must be defined to handle action result outcomes -- possible flow configuration error?   • .htaccess rewrite not working

    I need help with a rewrite in .htaccess. I am trying to do the following: When a user types http://www.example.com/csc/alabama/ I need to pull info from http://www.example.com/csc/index.php?state=alabama I thought it should be this Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^csc/([^/]*)$ /csc/index.php?state=$1 [L] I keep getting a 404 error. On a side note, I would like to be able to do this with a generic sub-directory, so that csc could be abc or anything else but this is not the priority.

    I am using TableAdapter to insert records in table within a loop. foreach(....) { .... .... teamsTableAdapter.Insert(_teamid, _teamname); .... } Where TeamID is the primary key in the table After first run of this loop, Insert throws Duplicate Primary Key found Exception. To handle this, i have done this foreach(....) { .... .... try { _teamsTableAdapter.Insert(_teamid, _teamname); } catch (System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException e) { if (e.Number != 2627) MessageBox.Show(e.Message); } .... .... } But using try catch statement is costly, how to avoid this exception. I am working in VS2010 and INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE does not work.

    Hi folks: some methods in our model pojos have been annotated like this: @Column(name="cli_clipping_id", updatable=false, columnDefinition = "varchar(" + ModelUtils.ID_LENGTH + ") COLLATE utf8_bin") columnDefinition attribute is database vendor dependant, so when trying to drop schema in HSQLDB using Hibernate it fails: [ERROR] 16 jun 12:58:42.480 PM main [org.hibernate.tool.hbm2ddl.SchemaExport] Unexpected token: COLLATE in statement [create table cms.edi_editorial_obj (edi_uuid varchar(23) COLLATE ] To fix this, i'm thinking on this solution (but don't want to spend time if it isn't possible) , at runtime, for each method column annotated: Get @Column annotation Create a copy of the column annotation, setting columnDefinition null using javaassist. set column method annotation to the copy column annotation object overriding the old one (i don't know it this is possible) Is it possible to "hack" these methods this way? Any help would be much appreciated ...

  • Deploying a Web Application from the command line

    Hi. Im looking to deploy a web application on a build server. It is a very small web app and so far i have written a nice little console app that checks out from SVN and then calls msbuild on the .sln file. This of course is not the same as publishing a web app and so far have not found a programatic way of publishing. So my question is this.. After msbuild has run can i simply delete all .cs and .vb files and then deploy? or Should i really try and find a way to publish programatically?

  • One application instance for two domain name

    Hello, I have two web applications in ASP.NET which are quite the same (same business logic, same DAL, same DB scheme but different instance). The only thing that I need to change is the design (logo, color,...) and the text (global and local resource) to adress two separate business sector. We cannot "subdomain" the application because we need the two app "seems to be" independant. Is it a good idea to run only one instance for the 2 web applications. For example : I will have 2 hostnames : mycompagny.com and mycompagny2.com and I will put an HTTP Module which will set a string which will be propagated in my application like 'company' and 'company2'. I will instanciate the dal only once but the connection string will change depending on the string 'company' or 'company2'. Any pros and cons ? Any other alternatives ?

In the view, i'm trying to take all the members from a classroom like that: def inside_classroom(request,classname): try: theclass = Classroom.objects.get(classname = classname) members = Members.objects.all() etc but it doesn't work,(though the db_table is named Classroom_Members) i guess i have to use another query for getting all the members from the classroom classname. also, i want to verify if the request.user is a member using (if request.user in members) how can i het those members?     I have a text file with a list of macro names (one per line). My final goal is to get a print of how many times the macro's name appears in the files of the current directory. The macro's names are in C:\temp\macros.txt. type C:\temp\macros.txt in the dos prompt prints the list alright. Now I want to pipe that output to the standard input of findstr. type C:\temp\macros.txt | findstr *.ss (ss is the file type where I am looking for the macro names). This does not seem to work, I get no result (very fast, it does not seem to try at all). findstr <the first row of the macro list> *.ss does work. I also tried findstr *.ss < c:\temp\macros.txt with no success.

  • Iphone: XML image problem

    Hi! I have a question about parsing XML and putting it into a table. I parsed the following elements from a RSS feed : title, dc:creator and enclosure url (= an image). The parsing is working, i can see everything showing up in the console. But when i try to load everything into the tablecell, everything shows up except for the image. So i figured that the problem must be in the CellForRowatIndexPath method in the RootViewController.m ( or in the TableCell.m) What am i doing wrong? Please help! Ive been struggling for days with this and just cant seem to figure it out!
