  • Load a bitmap from file in RGB format (without alpha)

    Hi, i simply want to load a .BMP file and get the Bitmap object in 24bit RGB format (or 32bit in RGB format). All methods I tried return a Bitmap/Image object with PixelFormat = Format32bppArgb. Even if of course BMPs don't have alpha. new Bitmap(System.Drawing.Image.FromFile(fileName, true)); new Bitmap(fileName); I currently solve the problem by copying the first object to another in memory bitmap at 24bit RBG. Is there a single method to do it? Thanks

  • Where do you put non-controller classes in codeigniter?

    I've got a class Widgets. Widgets are made up of Doohickies. I'm never going to need to access Doohickies directly via url -- they're essentially a private class, only used by Widgets. Where do you put your code to define the Doohicky class? In /app/controllers/doohicky.php? in app/controllers/widget.php? somewhere else? Obviously, the former seems cleaner, but it's not obvious to me how to make the Doohicky class available to Widget.

As I noticed, my while loop causes it. If i comment it, everything is ok. It has to get random user from my db and set it to variable $author.

  • MonoRail - Server-side vs. Client-side Form Validation

    Hey, I'm using MonoRail and was wondering how it decides when to use client-side vs. server-side validation? In my model class I have [ValidateNonEmpty] on two properties, one is a textbox, the other is a dropdown. The textbox triggers client-side validation on form submission, if I leave the dropdown empty though it posts back to the server and returns back the validation error from server-side. Is there a way to get the dropdown to trigger client-side validation? Also it's odd because after the postback, it clears what I had entered in the dropdown but maintains the state of the textbox (viewstate anyone??) Thanks, Justin

    Hi, I posted a similar problem but it could not be resolved. I create a relational database of users and groups but for some reason I cannot insert test data with fixtures properly.     Hi, I have an [AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers] class library containing subtypes of the System.DataAnnotations.ValidationAttribute. The library is used on contract types of WCF services. In .NET 2/3.5, this worked fine. Since .NET 4.0 however, running a client of the service in the Visual Studio debugger results in the exception "Inheritance security rules violated by type: '(my subtype of ValidationAttribute)'. Derived types must either match the security accessibility of the base type or be less accessible." (System.TypeLoadException) The error appears to occure only when all of the following conditions are met: a subclass of ValidationAttribute is in an AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers assembly reflection is used to check for the attribute the Visual Studio hosting process is enabled (checkbox on Project properties, Debug tab) So basically, in Visual Studio.NET 2010: create a new Console project, add a reference to "System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations" 4.0.0.0, write the following code: . using System; [assembly: System.Security.AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers()] namespace TestingVaidationAttributeSecurity { public class MyValidationAttribute : System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations.ValidationAttribute { } [MyValidation] public class FooBar { } class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { Console.WriteLine("ValidationAttribute IsCritical: {0}", typeof(System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations.ValidationAttribute).IsSecurityCritical); FooBar fb = new FooBar(); fb.GetType().GetCustomAttributes(true); Console.WriteLine("Press enter to end."); Console.ReadLine(); } } } Press F5 and you get the exception ! As illustrated by the Console.WriteLine in the above code. But then again, this appear to happen with other attributes (and types?) too. Now the questions... Why do I have this behaviour when inheriting from ValidationAttribute, but not when inheriting from System.Attribute ? (Using Reflector I don't find special settings on the ValidationAttribute class or it's assembly) And what can I do to solve this ? How can I keep MyValidationAttribute inheriting from ValidationAttribute in an AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers assembly without marking it SecurityCritical, still using the new .NET 4 level 2 security model and still have it work using the VS.NET debug host (or other hosts) ??   • Spawning in Rails

    Hello, I was using the spawn plugin (http://rubyforge.org/projects/spawn/) which worked excellent. However, I then moved to Mongo (using mongo_mapper) and Spawn no longer worked. Modifying the plugin is beyond the scope of my abilities. Is there a simple way to do spawning in Rails that would work with Mongo? It's not an often-run process so it doesn't have to be the most elegant solution in the world. Thanks!

  • Which NoSQL db to use with C?

    Hello all, I'm working on an application that I'm going to write with C and i am considering to use a nosql db for storing timeseries data with at most 8 or 9 fields. But in every 5 minutes there will huge write operations such as 2-10 million rows and then there will be reads(but performance is not as crucial in read as in the write operation). I'm considering to use a NoSQL db here in order to store the data but couldn't decide on which one to use. Couchdb seems to have a stable driver called pillowtalk for C; but Mongo's driver doesn't look as promising as pillowtalk. I'm also open to other suggestions. What is your recommendation?

  • How to prevent command/script from changing global environment

    I need to run scriptblocks/scripts from the current top-level shell and I want them to leave the global environment unmodified. So far, I've only been able to think of the following possibilities: powershell -file <script> powershell -noprofile -command <scriptblock> The problem is, that they are very slow. For instance, I would like to be able to do: mkdir newdir cd newdir $env:NEW_VAR = 100 ni -item f 'newfile.txt' ...so that my shell's working dir wouldn't change and $env:NEW_VAR wouldn't be set in the global environment. Are there any more alternatives to accomplish this?

  • PLT Scheme Extracting field ids from structures

    I want to see if I can map PLT Scheme structure fields to columns in a DB. I've figured out how to extract accessor functions from structures in PLT scheme using the fourth return value of: (struct-type-info) However the returned procedure indexes into the struct using an integer. Is there some way that I can find out what the field names were at point of definition? Looking at the documentation it seems like this information is "forgotten" after the structure is defined and exists only via the generated-accessor functions: (<id>-<field-id> s). So I can think of two possible solutions: Search the namespace symbols for ones that start with my struct name (yuk); Define a custom define-struct macro that captures the ordered sequence of field-names inside some hash that is keyed by struct name (eek).

For example, with CEDET's Semantic (included with GNU Emacs 23.2.1), includes can be right clicked to provide a menu; how can I make that menu, and others, with the keyboard, appear as a tooltip or in the minibuffer a la M-` that allows one to access the menu bar?

  • mongoid with rails - Database should be a Mongo::DB, not NilClass"

    Greetings I am trying to get Mongoid to work with my Rails app and I am getting an error: "Mongoid::Errors::InvalidDatabase in 'Shipment bol should be unique' Database should be a Mongo::DB, not NilClass" I have created the mongoid.yml file in my config directory and have mongodb running as a daemon. The config file is like so: defaults: &defaults host: localhost development: <<: *defaults database: ship-it-development test: <<: *defaults database: ship-it-test production: <<: *defaults host: <%= ENV['MONGOID_HOST'] % port: <%= ENV['MONGOID_PORT'] % database: <%= ENV['MONGOID_DATABASE'] % All of my specs fail with the above error. I am using rails 2.3.8. Anyone have ideas?

  • Git pack file entry format

    My understanding of the Git pack file format is something like: Where the table is 32-bits wide, and the first three 32-bit words are the pack file header. The last row of 32 bits are the first 4 bytes of an entry. As I understand it, the size of the entry is specified by consecutive bytes with the MSB set, followed by compressed data. In the first byte whose MSB is not set, is the MSB part of the compressed data, or is it a gap? If it's part of the compressed data, how can you guarantee that when the data is compressed that bit won't be set?
