  • I have two list boxes(A,B) with some values and i can send values from A to B or B to A

    I have two list boxes(A,B) with some values and i can send values from A to B or B to A and i have one save button. For the first time without updating any list box if i click on save button i am showing message like "NO changes or Done" But once i send one item from A to B and again sending that same item from B to A it means no changes or Done. here also i want to show same message "NO changes or Done" .but i am unable to fine the staus can any one pleasse give code or tips to find the default status for listboxs in javascript. Thanks

Am i using it wrongly?

    At work, we are using SVN, CVS, and GIT because there any many projects that were started at various times. Anyway, a common sequence that occurs is as follows: Working on task A, making changes to project Has new task B, some bug or functionality needs to be done on project, independent of task A but may affect same set of files Check in task B Check in task A Unfortunately, what I do at this time is two maintain 2 working copies of each project. So I can always work on task B from a clean copy. As you can imagine, this is wasteful and also, does not scale well (task C, D, E, etc.) For each of these versioning systems, are there commands that can help me do the following: "Save" task A, reverting working copy to current repository Work on task B, check in changes "Restore" task A changes back to working copy

  • A question about c/c++ syntax

    I don't have the c++ environment yet right now. It seems to me that a function must be declared/defined first to be called in c. I mean, the declared/defined part should be ahead of the calling part. Is it the same in c++? Finally, it seems c++ is adding new features to itself, what about c, has it stopped being developed?

  • Troubleshoot div that won't stretch

    Hi, I have a web page that has several divs embedded and I'm having a problem when a table has too many rows; when it does, the containing div falls short and bottom ones are displayed on top of the background instead. Any hints on how to troubleshoot this ? I've tried setting several attributes to the different divs with no luck? Thanks in advance

  • Rails: updating an item along with associated items

    Suppose I have a simple to-do list application. The application contains two models: lists (have an owner and description) items (have name and due-date) that belong to a specific list I would like to have a single edit screen for a list in which I update the list attributes (such as description) and also create/delete/modify associated items. There should be a single "save" button that will commit all changes. Unless save is pressed, any change to the list and the items should be forgotten. I wasn't able to find an elegant best practice for this. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions and/or references to existing implementations.

  • Flash Player: Any remedy for the stale video image data problem (in a reused NetStream object)?

    Has anyone experienced stale stills of a previous playback for a reused NetStream object? If so, what are the workarounds for this, except re-creating the object (which eats performance and time)? It is hard to reuse NetStream objects because of a (in my opinion) fundamental issue with NetStream objects - when you 'close' a playing stream and at a later point issue a 'play' call on it again with a different name, the stream appears to still contain a stale image lingering from previous playback, and this is of course displayed in the Video object for a moment - the moment I assume it takes for new stream data to become available from server. Because of this behavior, to improve my users' visual experience, I simply discard a NetStream object after a playback session, and assign a new NetStream object to the same variable, set it up, and play something else. It appears to work - no stale image - but what bugs me is that it's a work around and costs performance (construction and setting up the object again - event listeners and 'client' delegates and more memory usage - NetStream objects are not garbage collected immediately, it takes some time). It would be really nice to REALLY be able to reuse a stream. I am thinking of something akin to Video.clear method, but for the NetStream class. Am I missing something?

  • Server 2008 Likes to restart itself

    I have a weird issue here. I notice about once a week the web server restarts itself. This would be only a minor issue if we were not planning on implementing an IP failover. I have checked the event logs. I don't see anything that indicates a reason for the restart. I need some help diagnosing the reason the server restarts. It happened last night at 5:00AM Last even in the log was 1 hour before the unexpected shutdown. Here is the Log for the shutdown event. Any help is much appreciated. I know there isn't much to go on yet.   • Java application not starting in Tomcat, Plesk 9 server

    Hi I have a Plesk 9.3 CentOS 5 server on which I installed the addon to have Tomcat functions. One application I have uploaded appears in the Plesk Tomcat user panel but with a yellow exclamation mark and the error "Actual status of the application does not correspond to the status retrieved from the database". The app therefore does not run, while other uploaded test .war applications do. The server runs Tomcat tomcat5.5.23-0jpp.7.el5_2.1 which matches the requirements for the required app according the the company that made it. While searching for the solution I could find all 3 uploaded .war applications in /usr/share/tomcat5/psa-wars/domainhere.com/ but they do not seem uncompressed there even though 2 of them run fine. Not enough Tomcat / Java knowlede to go on... Any idea to help me here ? Best regards.

  • Best SSD tweaks for Windows 7

    I have seen many articles about tweaking an SSD, but many of them seem outdated, or too broad (read all Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 general tweaks). And I know that Windows 7 has been specifically tweaked for SSD by the Windows team, so I don't want to do something that was written for Windows XP in mind and end up circumventing something the Windows team has specifically designed in to Windows 7. So my question is what are the best SSD tweaks for Windows 7 that you have found to get the performance out of your drive? I hope to make a comprehensive list in the answers below so there won't be so much disinformation in the forums about what to do and what not to do. Here are a few that I see posted up on the forums alot, and some questions to get the discussion started: Disabling Superfetch. Yes or No Disabling Page File or limiting it to a really small size such as 500 MB. Disabling Indexing. Yes or No Disabling Defragmenting. Yes or No What are your thoughts do you have any that have worked for you? When providing an answer please do your best to back it up with a reason and possibly some documentation from MSDN, TechNet, or another credible source.

  • development and music recording machine suggestions?

    I wasn't sure if this belongs on SuperUser so flag if so. I am looking to build, primarily, a windows development machine that is also good for recording using Cubase. I know I should use seperate machines but I'm on a budget this time of year. I also havn't kept up with hardware for quite a few years. Basically I know I want quad core, multiple monitor support (no gaming requirements). A lot of RAM, very quiet case and super fast HDD (SSD OR 10,000RPM)for compiling and latency. I will store libraries and other data on a USB drive. Sound card is not needed as I will be using an audio interface, all other music recording equipment is taken care of also. I could do with some decent monitor recomendations also. All suggestions welcome, thanks.

  • How do I record sound from my CD/DVD player without other system sounds in the mix?

    Using GoldWave I can record via the "Stereo Mix" channel, but I get no sound on the "CD" channel. Of course, using the stereo mix also mixes in all system sounds, including beeps, etc. I have the analog out on the DVD player connected to the CD-IN connector on the MoBo. I can hear CDs and DVDs playing just fine through my speakers - is this because the CD is also IDE data connection in to deliver the sound to the sound card, then? I specifically want to record a DVD; I can easily rip a CD using GoldWave's built-in ripper. Is there anything I have forgotten or have to enable? Or is it likely I have a damaged cable? My system is an MSI mobo and is running Windows XP SP3.

  • Can it be important to call remove() on an EJB 3 stateless session bean? Perhaps on weblogic?

    I'm in the process of migrating an EJB 2 application to EJB 3 (and what a satisfying task it is to delete all those deployment descriptors!). It used to run on Weblogic and now runs on Glassfish. The task is going very smoothly, but one thing makes me wary: The current code takes great care to ensure that EJBObject.remove() is called on the bean when it's done its job, and other developers have (unfortunately very vague) memories of "bad things" happening when that was not done. However, with EJB3, the implementation class does not implement EJBObject, so there is no remove() method to be called. And my understanding is that there isn't really any point at all in calling it on stateless session beans, since they are, well, stateless. Could these "bad things" have been weblogic-specific? If not, what else? Should I avoid the full EJB3 lightweightness and keep a remote interface that extends EJBObject? Or just write it off as cargo-cult programming and delete all those try/finally clauses? I'm leaning towards the latter, but now feeling very comfortable with it.

  • Extract points within a shape from a raster

    Hi, I have a raster file (basically 2D array) with close to a million points. I am trying to extract a circle from the raster (and all the points that lie within the circle. Using ArcGIS is exceedingly slow for this. Can anyone suggest any image processing library that is both easy to learn and powerful and quick enough for something like this? Thanks!

I know this code might look strange, but it's based on a component system that I'm writing for a CMS. The aim is to be able to replace HTML tags in the template e.g.; <!-- component:customer-login --> with; <?php component_customer_login(); ?> I also need to call pre-render methods of the "Customer" class to validate forms before output is made etc. If anyone can think of a better way, please let me know but in the first instance, I'd like to know why I get the "Fatal error" mentioned above.
