Just discovered I have gotten a FOUND.000 folder on my usb drive. I guess from running chkdsk once. It has three files in it:
FILE0000.CHK
FILE0001.CHK
FILE0002.CHK
What exactly can I do with these files? What are my options? Are they lost files? Are they garbage? Can I use them for anything at all? Or will I just have to delete them?

Git's default cleanup of strip removes all lines starting with a # character. Unfortunately, the Trac engine's wiki formatter uses hashes in the beginning of a code block to denote the syntax type. Additionally any code added verbatim might include hashes as they are a common comment prefix; Perl comes to mind. In the following example the comments all get destroyed by git's cleanup mode.

I'd like to use a custom filter that removes all lines beginning with a hash from the bottom of the file upwards. Leaving those lines that being with a hash that are embedded in the commit message I wrote alone. Where or how can I specify this in git?
Note, creating a sed or perl script to perform the operation is not a problem, just knowing where to hook it into git is the question.
This works fine:

When I submit a request that contains a colon, like this:
GET /mvc/Movies/TitleIncludes/Lara%20Croft:%20Tomb
...it generates a 400 error. The error says ASP.NET detected invalid characters in the URL.
If I try url-escaping, the request looks like this:
GET /mvc/Movies/TitleIncludes/Lara%20Croft%3A%20Tomb
...and this also gives me a 400 error.
If I replace the colon with a | :
GET /mvc/Movies/TitleIncludes/Lara%20Croft|%20Tomb
..that was also rejeted as illegal, this time with a 500 error. The message: Illegal characters in path.
URL-escaping that | results in the same error.
I really, really don't want to use a querystring parameter.

The idea is to check if a file is not locked by any other application, if not then Archive it and move it elsewhere.

I spend most of my time in C# and am trying to figure out which is the best practice for handling an exception and cleanly return an error message from a called method back to the calling method.
For example, here is some ActiveDirectory authentication code. Please imagine this Method as part of a Class (and not just a standalone function.)

The advantages of doing it this way are a clear YES or NO that you can embed right in your If-Then-Else statement. The downside is that it also requires the person using the method to supply a string to get the Error back (if any.)
I guess I could overload this method with the same parameters minus the "out errStr", but ignoring the error seems like a bad idea since there can be many reasons for such a failure...
Alternatively, I could write a method that returns an Error String (instead of using "out errStr") in which a returned empty string means that the user authenticated fine.

This seems the most sane to me (for some reason). Yet at the same time, the only real advantage of wrapping those 2 lines over just typing those 2 lines everywhere I need to authenticate is that I don't need to include the "LDAP://" string. The downside with this way of doing it is that the user has to put this method in a try-catch block.

I have two product tables Product1 and Product2. There is a one 2 one mapping on the field ProductId.
What I want is to get all the product ids where the Product2.Exported field is false AND
Where the product ids that are in Product1 but not in Product2 table.

So let's assume I have a class named ABC that will have a list of Point objects.
I need to make some drawing logic with them. Each one of those Point objects will have a Draw() method that will be called by the ABC class.
The Draw() method code will need info from ABC class.
I can only see two ways to make them have this info:
Having Abc class make public some properties that would allow draw() to make its decisions.
Having Abc class pass to draw() a class full of properties.
The properties in both cases would be the same, my question is what is preferred in this case. Maybe the second approach is more flexible? Maybe not? I don't see here a clear winner, but that sure has more to do with my inexperience than any other thing.
If there are other good approaches, feel free to share them.

I'v tried System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(), But after it opens app.exe, it closes it immidiately.

We have custom shopping cart and use Paypal (Website Payments Standard) to handle payments.
Our 'home' currency is Euro, but we would like to present our customers the option to pay in different currencies (USD, CAD, AUD and GBP).
PayPal offers the option to:
a) automatically convert our Euro quoted prices to, for example, USD upon checkout
b) checkout in USD directly
With option a):
We get paid in Euro, the customer pays for the currency exchange (good).
The customer does not know what he/she is going to be charged in USD until checkout. (bad)
With option b)
The customer pays in USD, then the currency is converted into EUR and we pay the the currency exchange.
The customer never has to worry about the different currencies (excellent)
We do not know the exchange rate PayPal is going to use so we cannot quote the correct prices to our customer (showstopper)
So my question is:
Does anybody know a way to get the PayPal exchange rates?
or
Does anybody know how to make a good estimate?

PayPal updates it's exchange rate 2 times a day. (at least, that is what they state). They use the Interbank Exchange Rate provided by ??? and add a 2.5% spread above this rate to determine their retail foreign exchange rates.
Unforunately, there the Interbank Exchange Rates vary from source to source and from minute to minute.
We have been monitoring the PayPal exchange rates and cross referenced them with the Official reference rates provides by the European Central Bank. the results vary widely, somewhere from 1 to 6 ! percent...

I searched and couldn't find a solution for this anywhere. I'm using PuTTY from Windows to connect to various servers where I run bash and screen. It seems bash works fine with ctrl-arrow keys to jump word-to-word on the command line but within screen it's not working. Not in screen, ctrl-left sends "^[OC and ctrl-right is "^[OD". Within screen I instead get "^[[C" and "^[[D", which appears to be the codes for just the left/right arrow keys. Is there any way to get screen to recognize ctrl-arrow keys when using PuTTY? (FYI, I don't remember having this problem when using gnu-terminal in linux instead of PuTTY).
We'd like to download all our Flickr photos & sets to iPhoto or just to a PC directory so we can sync our photos & sets to our iPhones (and possibly get off Flickr). Is there a way to do this?
