  • PHPthumbFactory file not found on upload

  • Default FileField names for Django files

    I have a model: class Example(models.Model): unique_hash = models.CharField(max_length=32,unique=True) content = models.FileField(upload_to='source',blank=True,verbose_name="HTML Content File") I would like to be able to set the content filename to default to a callable, but I don't see any way to have the callable reference unique_hash (or vice versa). Is this possible?

  • Building Admin Areas in Rails - General Questions

    What is the typical format/structure for creating an administrative area in a Rails application? Specifically I am stumped in the vicinity of these topics: How do you deal with situations where a model's resources are available to both the public and the Admin? i.e. A User model where anyone can create users, login, etc but only the admin can view users, delete/update them, etc. What is the proper convention for routing? How does one structure controllers? Are duplicate controllers considered OK? i.e. An admin version and the non-admin version? Thank you!

  • Technique/class to clean invalid XML in AS3/Flex 4?

    I'm looking for a way to load invalid (malformed) XML into an AS3 XML object. Do you know a class or a technique to do so? I have to load malformed HTML and parse it as XML. This is a Flex project so I can use Flex specific classes if needed! I thought of using the HTMLLoader since it accepts all kinds of malformed HTML and renders it properly but couldn't get anything to work...

  • Looking for a method to replace a string with a hyperlink

    I have a usercontrol in an asp web forms application that I am working on in C#. I am binding to a repeater and outputting a field of information, named "Text", using the following syntax: <%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Text") %> I am looking for a method that will allow my to search for a keyword within the string that is returned from above, and replace that string with a hyperlink such as <a href="www.anysite.com/keyword">keyword</a>. I'm not very familer with user controls and getting data back in this manner so I am looking for advice on how this might be best handled. Thanks!

  • Image Uploading - security issues

    Hi, I'm developing an ASP.NET Web app and would like the user to be able to either upload an image from their local system, or pass in a URL to an image. The image can either be a JPG or PNG. What security issues should I be concerned about doing this? I've seen various ways of embedding code within JPG files. Are there any methods in C# (or external libraries) which can confirm that a file is a JPG/PNG, otherwise throw an error? At the very least, I'm making the directory which holds uploaded images non-browsable and putting a max size limit of 1mb, but I'd like to implement further checks. Thanks for any advice.

  • Same Salt, Different Encrypted Password is not working? Using Linq to update password.

    Hello, I am running into a wall regarding changing the password and was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Here are the database values prior to changing the password: Clear Text password = abc1980 Encrypted Password = Yn1N5l+4AUqkOM3WYO7ww/sCN+o= Salt = 82qVIhUIoblBRIRvFSZ1fw== After I change my password to abc1973, salt remains the same, but the Encrypted Password changes which is supposed to happen: Encrypted Password = rHtjLq3qxAl/7T1GfkxrsHzPsNk= However, when I try to login with abc1973 as the password, it does not login. If I try abc1980, it logs me in. It is updating the database, is it caching the values somewhere? Any ideas?

  • Is it possible to capture audio output and apply effects to it?

    Using .NET and DirectSound I want to be able to take all output sound that is coming from my audio device and apply effects to it. I've had a quick look at the docs on MSDN and there doesn't seem to be any explanation as to how to do something like this. I've read elsewhere that you'd be better off writing a driver to sit in front of your real audio driver and have that do whatever you want with the sound. Any ideas anyone to push me in the right direction?

So far though, I have not seen any examples that actually show how to do this - can anyone suggest some links, or a code snippet to show how this is done for a dummy class? How may I send asynchronous message notifications from the C++ code to the C# code ?. Ideally, I would like to cause the C# class to raise an event, with the received data as an argument

  • Connect to SVN repository with Netbeans using SVN+SSH

    Hello all, I am trying to connect to a SVN server in order to import my project into it with svn+ssh authentication method. I am using the NetBeans IDE (6.8) with subversion plugin installed on Windows XP SP2. I have plink installed with its path set in the Windows PATH env variable. When I use the similar looking repository URL (XXXX and YYYY replaced with sensible things) svn+ssh://XXXX@YYYY/home/dce/svn/trunk along with this external tunnel command plink -l <myUserName> -i C:\\privateKey.ppk I keep getting this error: org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClientException: Network connection closed unexpectedly I searched about it on the Internet and tried many things but didn't work out. Please help if anybody has some idea what may be going wrong. Thanks a lot in advance.

  • Change The Windows 7 Start Orb the Easy Way

    Want to make your Windows 7 PC even more unique and personalized?  Then check out this easy guide on how to change your start orb in Windows 7. Getting Started First, download the free Windows 7 Start Button Changer (link below), and extract the contents of the folder.  It contains the app along with a selection of alternate start button orbs you can try out.   Before changing the start button, we advise creating a system restore point in case anything goes wrong.  Enter System Restore in your Start menu search, and select “Create a restore point”. Please note:  We tested this on both the 32 bit and 64 bit editions of Windows 7, and didn’t encounter any problems or stability issues.  That said, it is always prudent to make a restore point just in case a problem did happen. Click the Create button… Then enter a name for the restore point, and click Create. Changing the Start Orb. Once this is finished, run the Windows 7 Start Button Changer as administrator by right-clicking on it and selecting “Run as administrator”.  Accept the UAC prompt that will appear. If you don’t run it as an administrator, you may see the following warning.  Click Quit, and then run again as administrator. You should now see the Windows 7 Start Button Changer.  On the left it shows what your current (default) start orb looks like inactive, when hovered over, and when selected.  Click the orb on the right to select a new start button. Here we browsed to the sample orbs folder, and selected one of them.  Let’s give Windows the Media Center orb for a start orb.  Click the orb you want, and then select open. When you click Open, your screen will momentarily freeze and your taskbar will disappear.  When it reappears, your computer will have gone from having the old, default Start orb style… …to your new, exciting Start orb!  Here it is default, and glowing when hovered over. Now, the Windows 7 Start Orb Changer will change, and show your new Start orb on the left side.  If you would like to revert to the default orb, simply click the folder icon to restore it.  Or, if you would like to change the orb again, restore the original first and then select a new one. The orbs don’t have to be round; here’s a fancy Windows 7 logo as the start button. The start orb change will work in the Aero and Aero basic (which Windows 7 Start uses) themes, but will not show up in the classic, Windows 2000 style themes.  Here’s how the new start button looks with the Aero Classic theme: There are tons of orbs available, including this cute smiley, so choose one that you like to make your computer uniquely yours. I'm a little confused...should I wrap this with backticks, single quote or just leave it unwrapped int he group by GROUP BY `QuarterYear ` or should I do this?: GROUP BY 'QuarterYear' or just this?: GROUP BY QuarterYear

  • JSON / JSONP in JQuery

    Hello. I am trying to figure out why my $.getJSON method does not seem to be working but the $.ajax works just fine. First, here is my getJSON call: $.getJSON("http://localhost:1505/getServiceImageList?callback=loadImagesInSelect", loadImagesInSelect); You can see I have tried added the callback parameter directly to the query string (also tried it not on string) and I added a reference to the callback method defined in my js file. Here is the $.ajax call which works just fine: function getImages() { $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: $('#txt_registry_url').val(), dataType: "jsonp", success:loadImagesInSelect , error:function (xhr, ajaxOptions, thrownError) { alert(xhr.status); alert(thrownError); } }); } In this example the url pulled from the text box is the same as in the straight call to getJSON. When the method call completes, the successMethod is called and everything processes just fine. While I am cool with using the later of the two methods, the docs make it seem that the getJSON is the preferred shorthand way of doing things. Can anyone please explain what I am missing on the shorthand method to make it all work? Thanks in advance.

  • Saving core data in a thread, how to ensure its done writing before quitting?

    So I'm saving small images to core data which take a really short amount of time to save, like .2 seconds but I'm doing it while the user is flipping through a scroll view so in order to improve responsiveness I'm moving the saving to a thread. This works great, everything gets saved and the app is responsive. However, there is one thing in the core-data + multithreading doco that worries me: "In Cocoa, only the main thread is not-detached. If you need to save on other threads, you must write additional code such that the main thread prevents the application from quitting until all the save operation is complete." Ok, how do you do that? It only needs to last ~ .2 seconds and its rarely going to happen since the chance of the app quitting as something is saving is very low. How do I run something on the main thread that'll prevent the app from quitting AND not block the gui? Thanks
