  • C# Configuration Manager . ConnectionStrings

    I have a console app containing an application configuration file containing one connection string as shown below: <configuration> <connectionStrings> <add name="Target" connectionString="server=MYSERVER; Database=MYDB; Integrated Security=SSPI;" /> </connectionStrings> </configuration> When I pass this to my Connection using: ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings[1].ToString() I have two values in there, hence using the second in the collection, my question is where is this second coming from? I have checked the Bin version and original and its not mine! Its obviously a system generated one but I have not seen this before? Can anyone enlighten me? The mystery connection string is: data source=.\SQLEXPRESS;Integrated Security=SSPI;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|aspnetdb.mdf;User Instance=true This isn't a problem as such I would just like to know why this is occuring? Thanks in advance! For future reference to those who may or may not stumble on this, after discovering the machine.config its become apparent it is bad practice to refer to a config by its index as each stack will potentially be different, which is why "Keys" are used.   • tsql sum data and include default values for missing data

    Hi, I would like a query that will shouw a sum of columns with a default value for missing data. For example assume I have a table as follows: type_lookup: id name 1 self 2 manager 3 peer And a table as follows data: id type_lookup_id value 1 1 1 2 1 4 3 2 9 4 2 1 5 2 9 6 1 5 7 2 6 8 1 2 9 1 1 After running a query I would like a result set as follows: type_lookup_id value 1 13 2 25 3 0 I would like all rows in type_lookup table to be included in the result set - even if they don't appear in the data table. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Mark

  • using windows service can we copy files from one computer to another computer C#.net ?

    I have one service that will create a text file to local machine and then need to copy the same file to another server . I am using " File.Copy(SourceFilePath, TargetFilePath, true);" and getting an exception at the target file path "access denied. I am able to copy the files manually to that location ( TargetFilePath) . any idea , what is going wrong ?? I don't have any network drive mapping with this target location. Thanks in Advance

    I have project in with 2 separate modules(frontend and backend, first depends on second). When I'm trying to access backend code from frontend code, things going fine. Things turn for the worse when I do the same from jsp.   • How to handle correctly HTTP Digest Authentication on iPhone

    Hello guys. I'm trying to upload a file onto my personal server. I've written a small php page that works flawlessy so far. The little weird thing is the fact that I generate all the body of the HTTP message I'm going to send (let's say that amounts to ~4 mb) and then I send the request to my server. The server, then, asks for an HTTP challenge and my delegate connection:didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge:challenge replies to the server with the proper credentials and the data. But, what's happened? The data has been sent twice! In fact I've noticed that when I added the progressbar.. the apps sends the data (4mb), the server asks for authentication, the apps re-sends the data with the authentication (another 4mb). So, at the end, I've sent 8mb. That's wrong. I started googling and searching for a solution but I can't figure out how to fix this. The case scenarios are two (my guess): Share the realm for the whole session (a minimal HTTP request, then challenge, then data) Use the synchronized way to perform an HTTP connection (things that I do not want to do since it seems an ugly way to handle this kind of stuff to me) Thank you

  • How to stop GHC from generating intermediate files?

    When compiling a haskell source file via ghc --make foo.hs GHC always leaves behind a variety of intermediate files other than foo.exe. These are foo.hi and foo.o. I often end up having to delete the .hi and .o files to avoid cluttering up the folders. Is there a command line option for GHC not to leave behind its intermediate files? (When asked on #haskell, the best answer I got was ghc --make foo.hs && rm foo.hi foo.o.

    I have a Joomla plugin (not important in this context), which is designed to take an input with a load of numbers (within a paragraph of text) and replace them with a series of s. My problem is that I need to do a preg_replace on my $article-text, but I don't know how to then apply the changes to the matched terms.   • Can I add round cornres to HtmlPanelGrid in code or in page? If yes - how?

    Hi all! I have a task - add round corners to HtmlPanelGrid. Now I am trying to do it with css (using 4 images for each corner - that css create our designer). I load css and try to do this in my code: this.grid = new HtmlPanelGrid(); this.grid.setStyleClass("toplist,toplist-top"); But no changes I could see in my page. I tried to load css and use it with tags, but it also didnt work and created one more problem - my jsf didn't reload and redisplay: <div class="toplist"> <div class="toplist-top"><h2>Top 10 List</h2></div> <div class="toplist-bg"> <div class="toplist-cont"> <rich:tab label="Top-List" id="screenTop"> <h:panelGrid id="topListTable" binding="#{chartBean.topListTable}" /> </rich:tab> <a4j:support event="onclick" reRender="menuSection" actionListener="#{chartBean.doChangeTab}" /> </div> </div> <div class="toplist-bottom"></div> </div> I am interesting of adding round corners to topListTable in the code.   • Hudson jobs won't call javac?

    Hi, I have just set up Hudson on my server. For some reason, my build will not call javac to compile my builds...? I have set the path to the JDK in the Manage Hudson area, and it seems to recognise it (doesn't give me a warning). Is there something else I'm supposed to do?   • URLScan and percent signs

    So I just ran into a stupid problem in which users could not download files that had a percent sign in it. It wound up being URLScan. I had to un-set two things in urlscan.ini: 1) Set VerifyNormalization to 0 (disabled) 2) Remove the percent sign from the "DenyUrlSequences" section Do an iisreset, and it problem solved. But the big question is: How much of a security risk is this?

  • Virtualization of Legacy API and co-existence with more modern API?

    I don't mean for this question to be a flame bait but I'll be using Microsoft and their win32 API as a example of a legacy API. Now what I am wondering here is Microsoft is spending a lots of their money and energy in maintaining their legacy API, including all of the "glitches/bugs/workaround" that are needed to keep the API functioning the same. Now I'm aware that in Windows 7 they are providing a way for the customer to run their application in a "Windows XP" VM which would be one such way for them to start cleaning up their win32 API because they could then push all of the application into the "Windows XP" VM. So now what I am wondering is, is it possible to virtualization a legacy API in such way that an customer/program can still access and use it, yet at the same time be able to take advantage of the newer version/API? Because as far as I understand it, if the application is ran in the "Windows XP" VM, it won't be able to access any of the newer API/feature of Windows 7.

  • How to make ssh match known_hosts to host/ip:port instead of just host/ip?

    I have two machines behind a firewall, with the ssh ports forwarded to 2201 and 2202. When I ssh host -p 2201 it asks if I trust the machine, I say yes, it gets added to ~/.ssh/known_hosts Then I ssh host -p 2202 it doesn't let me, because there's already a known_host for this IP in ~/.ssh/known_host:1 (the file was empty when I started, so line 1 is the one added by the previous ssh run) This happens on CentOS 5.4. On other distros (I've tried Arch), it appears that ssh matches the knwown_hosts to the ports too, so I can have multiple fingerprints for multiple ports on the same host/ip without any problems. How can I get this same behavior for CentOS? I couldn't find anything in man ssh_config. (or at least not without disabling fingerprint checking)

  • NIC bonding with two uplinks

    Is bonding the preferred way of implementing ISP redundancy? In the texts I've seen, bond device has a netmask, gateway of it's own. How can this be obtained if there are two different gateways from two uplinks, which one to choose? Do I need any special routing rules to go with it or does simply configuring separate interfaces (using Debian, /etc/network/interfaces), i.e eth1, eth2 for their corresponding uplinks and bonding them to bond0 handle routing automatically? If I want to NAT client machines, do they use bond device's IP as a gateway? Does the bond0 device is the device that goes into iptables nat rules? Thanks

  • programmatically unset a default application

    I made a Home application and I'd like to offer the ability to exit it and unset it as the default application. Exit is easy (just starting an intent) but the problem is I don't want my program to be launched again the next time the user click the Home button. I know that this can be done by going in the parameters / Applications / my app / erase default actions but I would like to do it from my program so that the user doesn't have to search this function. How can it be done ?
