  • weird data-grid-view/crystal-reports behaviour c# winforms

    I have a winforms project which I keep in different versions, each version having its own project folder. All these projects use the same database file, which is copied in each project folder too. So if I run a project, let's say 0.34, and then I try to run 0.35, all the database functions don't work, unless I detach the database in SQL server management studio express. So all the database functions don't work, except the data grid view and/or crystal reports. But then, if I detach the database, and I run any version, all the database functions work, except the data grid view and/or crystal reports. So to recap, when the database functions work (like select), crystal reports doesn't work. But when the database functions don't work because the database is not detached, crystal reports works. weird. any ideas?

  • SVN Symfony Best Practice

    So I am starting a Symfony project that I will be developing on my local machine and pushing changes everyday to the live server. I wanna use SVN as the version control but Im not sure what the best way to set it up is. Do i make the actual html directory on the server be the repo so that when I check things in it goes live? Do I make it a separate directory and move things over by hand? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

  • I Cannot retrieve ARPINSTALLLOCATION so we know where to install a new version

    I am trying to retrieve the ARPINSTALLLOCATION during the installation of a Major Upgrade version of the software. Following this info I managed to set the ARPINSTALLLOCATION to the custom path. However, retrieving it again isn't working. I've tried many things over the past days but it keeps defaulting back to the default installation path instead of the custom one. <InstallUISequence> <AppSearch After="FindRelatedProducts"/> ... </InstallUISequence> <Property Id="WIXUI_INSTALLDIR" Value="APPROOTDIRECTORY"> <RegistrySearch Id="FindInstallLocation" Root="HKLM" Key="Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\[OLDERVERSIONBEINGUPGRADED]" Name="InstallLocation" Type="raw" /> </Property> In the custom WixUI_InstallDir UI I have this in the CustomInstallDirDlg <Control Id="Folder" Type="PathEdit" X="20" Y="90" Width="260" Height="18" Property="WIXUI_INSTALLDIR" Indirect="yes" /> The alternative install path is in the registry, but it isn't retrieved and shown in the control.   • GMap.NET shows no map

    I'm trying to use the GMap.NET.WindowsForms control in my Windows forms application but I cannot make it show me any map. Here is what I did: I added the control to my Visual Studio's 2010 toolbox by clicking 'Choose Items...' from the toolbox's context menu and browsing for the GMap.NET.WindowsForms.dll included in the downloaded zip archive. I also added references to GMap.NET.Core.dll and System.Data.SQLite.dll in my solution. Then I put the GMapControl that appeared in the toolbox on the main form of my application and set the map type to GoogleMap. When I run my application, however, the control shows either a blue screen with a piece of text saying "We are sorry, but we don't have imagery at this zoom level for this region" or a bright screen with completely no data (when I change zoom level). Here is my code: GMapMain.MapType = MapType.GoogleMap; GMapMain.MaxZoom = 100; GMapMain.MinZoom = 0; GMapMain.Zoom = 50; GMapMain.CurrentPosition = new PointLatLng(54.6961334816182, 25.2985095977783); GMapMain.ReloadMap(); Please help. I have no idea what to do and I cannot find any information in the Internet that could help me solve the problem. Thank you very much in advance.

  • Android -- Change the AlertDialog Animation?

    Hello all, Does anyone know how to change the in/out animations of an extended AlertDialog? I connot figure out how to do this.   • Trying to Install Rails 3

    I'm trying to install Rails 3 on a brand new MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.3, Ruby 1.8.7, and Rails 2.3.5 and I'm wondering if I've hosed myself. So far, I've run these commands: $ gem update --system $ gem install arel tzinfo builder memcache-client rack rack-test rack-mount erubis mail text-format thor bundler i18n $ gem install rails --pre However, when I run the last command, I get this error: ERROR: While executing gem ... (Gem::FilePermissionError) You don't have write permissions into the /usr/bin directory. I think it wants me to run the command with sudo so that it can write over /usr/bin/rails. But if I do that, won't I be overwriting my Rails 2.3.5 executable? I don't want to do that. Instead, I'd like to keep both versions of Rails. Can anyone help? Thanks.

  • Does NSArray:lastObject return an autoreleased object?

    I'm working on an iPhone project where I would like to retrieve an object from an NSMutableArray, remove the object from the array and then use it later. The code looks something like this: NSMutableArray * array; // fill the array NSObject * obj = [array lastObject]; [array removeLastObject]; // do something with obj (in the same function) array is the only entity with a retain on the object that is being accessed. Is this safe to do? I would assume that this would only work if lastObject autoreleased the object which is something that I can't figure out if it does.

    I am looking for an overview of data synchronization techniques available on the iPhone platform. We need the ability to be able to sync a subset of content from a server to a local database residing on the iPhone. On other projects I have worked on, the data synchronization was handled by the database. Is that available in SQLite? If not, any suggestions on techniques? Rolling our own would not be my first choice. Thanks in advance.

  • Nested Object Forms not working as expected

    I'm trying to get a nested model forms view working. As far as I can tell I'm doing everything right, but it still does not work. I'm on Rails 3 beta 3. My models are as expected: class Recipe < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :ingredients, :dependent => :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :ingredients attr_accessible :name end class Ingredient < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :name, :sort_order, :amount belongs_to :recipe end I can use Recipe.ingredients_attributes= as expected: recipe = Recipe.new recipe.ingredients_attributes = [ {:name=>"flour", :amount=>"1 cup"}, {:name=>"sugar", :amount=>"2 cups"}] recipe.ingredients.size # -> 2; ingredients contains expected instances However, I cannot create new object graphs using a hash of parameters as shown in the documentation: params = { :name => "test", :ingredients_attributes => [ {:name=>"flour", :amount=>"1 cup"}, {:name=>"sugar", :amount=>"2 cups"}] } recipe = Recipe.new(params) recipe.name # -> "test" recipe.ingredients # -> []; no ingredient instances in the collection Is there something I'm doing wrong here? Or is there a problem in the Rails 3 beta?

Is it bug or feature? :P

    I can't get this function to behave as i desire. Can anyone point out why it always returns null instead of CURRENT_TIMESTAMP?     Hello, I have a header file port.h, port.c, and my main.c I get the following error: 'ports' uses undefined struct 'port_t' I thought as I have declared the struct in my .h file and having the actual structure in the .c file was ok. I need to have the forward declaration as I want to hide some data in my port.c file.   • "Address of" (&) an array / address of being ignored be gcc?

    Hi, I am a teaching assistant of a introductory programming course, and some students made this type of error: char name[20]; scanf("%s",&name); which is not surprising as they are learning... What is surprising is that, besides gcc warning, the code works (at least this part). I suspect it is because I cannot get the address of an array (as I cannot have & &x), but in this case the code should not compile.

  • Counting keystrokes and clicks in vb.net

    I'm trying to create an application similar to the site WhatPulse, which will generate an image with my clicks and keystrokes. WhatPulse only updates the image once every 24 hours, so I am going to make an application to keep track of that for me, only with realtime stats. How can I count total keystrokes (outside of the application itself) as well as total clicks, in vb.net? This is for personal use. Thanks for your help!

  • How to customize a many-to-many inline model in django admin

    I'm using the admin interface to view invoices and products. To make things easy, I've set the products as inline to invoices, so I will see the related products in the invoice's form. As you can see I'm using a many-to-many relationship. In models.py: class Product(models.Model): name = models.TextField() price = models.DecimalField(max_digits=10,decimal_places=2) class Invoice(models.Model): company = models.ForeignKey(Company) customer = models.ForeignKey(Customer) products = models.ManyToManyField(Product) In admin.py: class ProductInline(admin.StackedInline): model = Invoice.products.through class InvoiceAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): inlines = [FilteredApartmentInline,] admin.site.register(Product, ProductAdmin) The problem is that django presents the products as a table of drop down menus (one per associated product). Each drop down contains all the products listed. So if I have 5000 products and 300 are associated with a certain invoice, django actually loads 300x5000 product names. Also the table is not aesthetic. How can I change it so that it'll just display the product's name in the inline table? Which form should I override, and how?

    Hello, I'm wondering how is implemented load balancing in realy big applications like google or facebook. I know that in normal scenario there may be machine dedicated to this task, but I would like to know how is it resolved in realy big aplication with hundreds of thousans people accessing it in any given time. I am just wondering how exactly when one types google.com will that request find its way to concrete computer (are there multiple load balancers? and how is it set up and implemented that user's request will find the way to concrete balancer out of many others). I know there are other IOC containers for Silverlight like Unity, Ninject, and a few others, but I particularly like the ease of use with StrutureMap.
