  • ASP.NET web setup class is not defined

    Hi, I've got an ASP.NET application that I installed by creating a web setup. I ran into a problem where ASP.NET wasn't registered with IIS so it gave me a "installation was interrupted" message that told me exactly nothing. Anyhow, I finally got it installed, and I can access the main page, but it's telling me that my class isn't defined. The dll is in the same directory as the Default.aspx page Here's the main error information Compiler Error Message: BC30002: Type 'SIValidator.SIValidator' is not defined. Source Error: Line 4: Line 5: <script runat="server"> Line 6: Dim validator As New SIValidator.SIValidator() Line 7: Protected table As New arrayList() Line 8: Protected countyByDistrict As New Hashtable() Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.1873; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.1433 Am I doing it wrong? Is there some obscure setting that may not be set? I'm completely new to this VS deployment deal, so I'm trying to learn the right terms to ask the right questions... Thanks for any help edit: As an aside, when I searched google 5 minutes later, this entry came up as the first result. Would have been awesome if there was an answer for me then :P

  • Configuring IIS 7.5 to be FIPS 140.2 compliant

    I need to configure IIS 7.5 (Server 2008 R2) to be FIPS 140.2 compliant. Specifically, this involves disabling all SSL protocols other than TLS 1.0. I have set the following registry keys: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\SSL 2.0\Server HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\SSL 3.0\Server HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\PCT 1.0\Server to Enabled(DWORD) = 0 as per this KB, but SSL Labs' checker says "SSL 2.0+ Upgrade Support" is enabled. (Everything other than that and TLS 1.0 is not available, so we're getting somewhere). It also says "FIPS ready - no" - presumably because SSL 2.0+ Upgrade Support is still enabled. serversniff.net says SSL 2.0 is turned off, and doesn't say anything about SSL 2.0+ Upgrade Support. Could this be an anomaly with SSL Labs' checker?

  • lighttpd not reliable

    Hi there, I have a lighttpd running which serves a django-based webservice. It was running well for some months, but from today on, it returns a 410 sometimes, and sometimes fails silently. To test, I make a curl-call, which most time runs fine; it returns some json test-data. Some times. however, it does not return any data, but the call seems to have run well, since I don't get an error code. When I post to my webservice via third-party-packaged like boto, I sometimes get a "410 gone" - but I do not find any entry in the lighttpd error log. Any ideas what the problem could be or how to avoid this? Thanks a lot

  • Windows Storage Server 2003: Shadow Copy (VSS) enabled for volume, but Previous Version not visible

    Windows Storage Server 2003 We have Shadow Copy (VSS) enabled for one volume. However Previous Version tab is not visible on the server on properties dialogs on any file or folder on that volume. We don't want this tab to be visible on the clients, just on the server. I've checked the VSS settings and they're definitly enabled for the volume. I'm stuck! Do I have to install the client-software on the server? The folder \%systemroot%\system32\clients\twclient contains 3 empty subdirs (location copies from docs)...

  • List of all IBM motherboard models with a certain socket?

    I just got a really good deal on two Intel Quad Core Xeon L5420 processors and I have access to other deals on bare IBM servers (case+motherboard, no processor/ram/hdd). How can I easily find out what server or motherboard models will be compatible with this processor? I am ideally looking for a dual-processor motherboard and I see that it is socket LGA771. So I guess the underlying question is, how can I find what IBM motherboards (and servers) have dual socket LGA 771?

  • Optimal Configuration for five 300 GB 15K SAS Drives

    I recently acquired an HP Z800 workstation that has five 300 GB 15K SAS Drives. This system will be dedicated to running multiple virtual machines under VMware Workstation (Note: I'm not using ESXi because I do plan to use the system for other purposes.). For the host OS, I plan to install RHEL 5. My number one concern is guest performance. For example, should I create a RAID 10 array for the OS and virtual machine storage with four of the drives and reserve the 5th? Or, is there a solution that will provide better performance?

  • pyODBC and Unicode Problem

    Hey guys, I'm working with pyODBC communicate with a MS SQL 2005 Express server. The table to which i'm trying to save the data consists of nvarchar columns. query = u"INSERT INTO tblPersons (name, birthday, gender) VALUES('" query = query + name + u"', '" query = query + birthday + u"', '" query = query + gender + u"')" cur.execute(query ) The variables name, birthrday and gende are read from an Excel file and they are Unicode strings. When I execute the query and either look at the table with SQL Server Management Studio or execute a query that fetches the data that was just inserted, all the data that was written in a non-English languages turn into question marks. The data that was written in English is preserved and appears in the table in the correct way. I tried adding CHARSET=UTF16 to my connection string, but had no luck with that. I can use UTF-8 which works fine but as a working convention, I need all the data saved in my DB to be UTF16. Thanks!

And I am trying to traverse from input.save at the bottom right the way up to div.node... This all works well with one copy of the markup but if I duplicate it (obvisouly changing the ID of the uppermost div.node and use jQuery.closest('div.node') for the upper of the div.node's it will return the element below it not the element above it (which is the right one). I've tried using parents() but that also has it's caveats.   • Changing FileNames using RegEx and Recursion

    Hello I'm trying to rename files that my program lists as having "illegal characters" for a SharePoint file importation. The illegal characters I am referring to are: ~ # % & * {} / \ | : < ? - "" What i'm trying to do is recurse through the drive, gather up a list of filenames and then through Regular Expressions, pick out file names from a List and try to replace the invalid characters in the actual filenames themselves. Anybody have any idea how to do this?   • Zipping with padding in Haskell

    A couple of times I've found myself wanting a zip in Haskell that adds padding to the shorter list instead of truncating the longer one. This is easy enough to write. (Monoid works for me here, but you could also just pass in the elements that you want to use for padding.) zipPad :: (Monoid a, Monoid b) => [a] -> [b] -> [(a, b)] zipPad xs [] = zip xs (repeat mempty) zipPad [] ys = zip (repeat mempty) ys zipPad (x:xs) (y:ys) = (x, y) : zipPad xs ys This approach gets ugly when trying to define zipPad3.   • Ruby: how does constant-lookup work in instance_eval/class_eval?

    I'm working my way through Pickaxe 1.9, and I'm a bit confused by constant-lookup in instance/class_eval blocks. I'm using 1.9.2. It seems that Ruby handles constant-lookup in *_eval blocks the same way it does method-lookup: look for a definition in receiver.singleton_class (plus mixins); then in receiver.singleton_class.superclass (plus mixins); then continue up the eigenchain until you get to #<Class:BasicObject>; whose superclass is Class; and then up the rest of the ancestor chain (including Object, which stores all the constants you define at the top-level), checking for mixins along the way Is this correct? The Pickaxe discussion is a bit terse. Some examples: class Foo CONST = 'Foo::CONST' class << self CONST = 'EigenFoo::CONST' end end Foo.instance_eval { CONST } # => 'EigenFoo::CONST' Foo.class_eval { CONST } # => 'EigenFoo::CONST', not 'Foo::CONST'! Foo.new.instance_eval { CONST } # => 'Foo::CONST' In the class_eval example, Foo-the-class isn't a stop along Foo-the-object's ancestor chain!   • Create associative multi-dimensional array

    Hi, I have 3 variables, each one holding a different information and send values from a text file dynamicaly. I want to put them in a Associative multi-dimensional array. let's say : $product sends car, truck, train, etc. $price sends 1000, 3000, 1500, etc. $year sends 1997, 1980, 2008, etc. How to create a function which generates an array as follow, when i execute print_r(myarray): Array ( [0] => Array ( [product] => car [price] => 1000 [year] => 1997 ) [1] => Array ( [product] => truck [price] => 3000 [year] => 1980 ) [2] => Array ( [product] => train [price] => 1500 [year] => 2008 )) and so on.   • Applying attribute to SVG using JS prompts 'this.textBox.style is undefined'. Why?

    Hi, I'm using the following code to draw an SVG text box, and then change its text anchor attribute to 'left' as it defaults to center and that's nasty. The text generates correctly, but when I add this second line I get the error 'this.textBox.style is undefined' in my error console. Here's my code: RenderTextBox:function() { // Render Text this.textBox = paper.text(this.x, this.y, this.htmlText); this.textBox.style.textAnchor="left"; } Any ideas?
