  • Create bookmark into 1st column of MSWord table

    Hello All, does anyone have a VBA code to create a bookmark into the first column of an MSWord table? Let's say I have a table looking like this .-----.----------------. . ref . Title . .-----.----------------. . 1 . Title 1 . .-----.----------------. . 2 . Title 2 . .-----.----------------. . foo . Title 3 . .-----.----------------. . bar . Title 4 . .-----.----------------. and I want a VBA code fragment that creates a bookmark named "T1_1" on the string "1" in row 2 / column 1, and bookmarks named "T1_2", "T1_foo" and "T1_bar" on the strings in the other cells of column 1. I don't mind to hardcode the prefix "T1" (and substitute for other tables each time). I don't mind to select tables before running the macro, I don't mind giving those cells a special format, and I don't mind to get a superfluous bookmark "T1_ref" from the first row - so the code doesn't need to distinguish between table title and table row.   • Make multiple lightboxes (facebox) execute one after each other.

    I have a php application that sometimes creates two lightboxes on the same page - the result is the last one to be called is the only one shown. How might I ensure that they show one after anohter? I call a facebox at the bottom of the page like so: jQuery.facebox('blah'); Currently multiple facebox's are called like so: jQuery.facebox('blah');jQuery.facebox('blah2'); But only blah2 will ever show. I need to wait for 'blah' to close before calling 'blah2'...

  • Accessing appropriate array of double arrays in order of last created.

    I have an array of double arrays, they are within a specified time window (8am-5pm), and are in order of last created over a period of several days. They are all timestamped and as such I have access to all C# DateTime methods. I then have a different iterative function that goes in the same order of the array of double arrays, however it isn't within a specified time window, it's 24/7. I want to access from this iterative function, the appropriate double array from the one within the window. Let's say that it's 4:30PM on DayOfYear 52, I'd like to access the last double array less than or equal to 4:30PM on DayOfYear 52. I'd expect the same double array if the time were 12:30AM on DayOfYear 53. However, if it were 9:00 AM of DayOfYear 53, well then I'd expect it to return something from the DayOfYear 53, less than or equal to 9:00AM. I think you get the idea. So I'm a having a bit of trouble grokking how to do this. Is anyone willing to offer a starting point or how they'd approach it? Edit: It is not a literal double[][], it is exactly as Anthony Pegram says: Dictionary<DateTime, double[]>

  • how to implement a really efficient bitvector sorting in python

    Hello guys! Actually this is an interesting topic from programming pearls, sorting 10 digits telephone numbers in a limited memory with an efficient algorithm. You can find the whole story here What I am interested in is just how fast the implementation could be in python. I have done a naive implementation with the module bitvector. Is there any way to accelerate the vec_sort function?

  • Can't send flash message from Model method

    Hello, I'm trying to prevent a record that has a relationship to another record from being deleted. I can stop the deletion but not send a flash message as I had hoped! class Purchaseitem < ActiveRecord::Base before_destroy :check_if_ingredient ... def check_if_ingredient i = Ingredient.find(:all, :conditions => "purchaseitem_id = #{self.id}") if i.length > 0 self.errors.add(:name) flash.now[:notice] = "#{self.name} is in use as an ingredient and cannot be deleted" return false end end This will prevent a the delete wihthout the flash line, and when I add it I get: undefined local variable or method `flash' for # Any help would be much appreciated!

    I have a class that implements the INotifyPropertyChanged interface. Some of the properties of the class are of type List. For example: public List<string> Answers { get { return _answers; } set { _answers = value; onPropertyChanged("Answers") } } ... private void onPropertyChanged(string propertyName) { if(this.PropertyChanged != null) this.PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName)); } If I assign a new List<string> to Answer, then the PropertyChanged event fires as expected; but if I add a string string to the Answer list using the List Add method, then PropertyChanged event doesn't fire. I was considering adding an AddAnswer() method to my class, which would handle calling the lists's Add method and would call onPropertyChanged() from there, but is that the right way to do it? Is there a more elegant way of doing it? Cheers, KT

  • MSTest unit test passes by itself, fails when other tests are run

    I'm having trouble with some MSTest unit tests that pass when I run them individually but fail when I run the entire unit test class. The tests test some code that SLaks helped me with earlier, and he warned me what I was doing wasn't thread-safe. However, now my code is more complicated and I don't know how to go about making it thread-safe. Here's what I have: public static class DLLConfig { private static string _domain; public static string Domain { get { return _domain = AlwaysReadFromFile ? readCredentialFromFile(DOMAIN_TAG) : _domain ?? readCredentialFromFile(DOMAIN_TAG); } } } And my test is simple: string expected = "the value I know exists in the file"; string actual = DLLConfig.Domain; Assert.AreEqual(expected, actual); When I run this test by itself, it passes. When I run it alongside all the other tests in the test class (which perform similar checks on different properties), actual is null and the test fails. I note this is not a problem with a property whose type is a custom Enum type; maybe I'm having this problem with the Domain property because it is a string? Or maybe it's a multi-threaded issue with how MSTest works?

  • WCF does not generate the properties

    I have a .NET 1.1 ASMX and want to use it in a client WinForms app. If i go wit the old way and add it as a "WebRefrence" method then I will have access to two of its properties which are "url" and "UseDefaultCredentials" and it works fine. But if I go with the new WCF way and add it as a ServiceReference I still have access to the methods of that ASMX but those two properties are missing. what is the reason for that? so for example in the old way ( adding WebReference) these codes are valid: TransferService transferService= new TransferService(); transferService.Url = "http://something.asmx"; transferService.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials; string[] machines = transferService.GetMachines(); But in the new way ( adding Service Reference ) using(TransferServiceSoapClient transferServiceSoapClient = new TransferServiceSoapClient("TransferServiceSoap")) { transferServiceSoapClient.Url = "someUrl.asmx"; //Cannot resolve URL transferServiceSoapClient.GetMachines(new GetMachinesRequest()); transferServiceSoapClient.Credentials = .... // //Cannot resolve Credentials }

  • [BST] Deletion procedure

    Hi all. Consider the deletion procedure on a BST, when the node to delete has two children. Let's say i always replace it with the node holding the minimum key in its right subtree. The question is: is this procedure commutative? That is, deleting x and then y has the same result than deleting first y and then x? I think the answer is no, but i can't find a counterexample, nor figure out any valid reasoning. Thank you. EDIT: Maybe i've got to be clearer. Consider the transplant(node x, node y) procedure: it replace x with y (and its subtree). So, if i want to delete a node (say x) which has two children i replace it with the node holding the minimum key in its right subtree: y = minimum(x.right) transplant(y, y.right) // extracts the minimum (it doesn't have left child) y.right = x.right y.left = x.left transplant(x,y) The question was how to prove the procedure above is not commutative.

  • Python + PostgreSQL + strange ascii = UTF8 encoding error

    I have ascii strings which contain the character "\x80" to represent the euro symbol: >>> print "\x80" € When inserting string data containing this character into my database, I get: psycopg2.DataError: invalid byte sequence for encoding "UTF8": 0x80 HINT: This error can also happen if the byte sequence does not match the encodi ng expected by the server, which is controlled by "client_encoding". I'm a unicode newbie. How can I convert my strings containing "\x80" to valid UTF-8 containing that same euro symbol? I've tried calling .encode and .decode on various strings, but run into errors: >>> "\x80".encode("utf-8") Traceback (most recent call last): File "<pyshell#14>", line 1, in <module> "\x80".encode("utf-8") UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0x80 in position 0: ordinal not in range(128)

  • C# rotate a string 180 degrees

    Hi im having a few problems rotating a string, i found that you need graphics.rotate() but when i change the rotation, i cannot even see the string. It appears the pivot point has completely thrown me. Also i saw an example with transform but i decided i did not need this? If my string was a graph label, reading top to bottom and i needed to rotate it 180 degrees so that it read bottom to top, how would i do this? Thanks in advance

  • Java Inheritance doubt in parameterised collection

    It's obvious that a parent class's object can hold a reference to a child, but does this not hold true in case of parameterised collection ?? eg: Car class is parent of Sedan So public void doSomething(Car c){ ... } public void caller(){ Sedan s = new Sedan(); doSomething(s); } is obviously valid But public void doSomething(Collection<Car> c){ ... } public void caller(){ Collection<Sedan> s = new ArrayList<Sedan>(); doSomething(s); } Fails to compile Can someone please point out why? and also, how to implement such a scenario where a function needs to iterate through a Collection of parent objects, modifying only the fields present in parent class, using parent class methods, but the calling methods (say 3 different methods) pass the collection of three different subtypes.. Ofcourse it compiles fine if I do as below: public void doSomething(Collection<Car> c){ ... } public void caller(){ Collection s = new ArrayList<Sedan>(); doSomething(s); }

  • Movement in game programming

    This question may have been asked before, but I'm starting to get into game programming on the Android. I'm having a hard time figuring out the best way to move an object. To put it simply, lets say I have a bitmap located on 0,0 and i want to move it across the screen. The obvious way to do it would be to simply increment the X position by one every time the Surface View onDraw method gets called. But what if I wanted to make it move faster? I could increment it by two or three instead of one, but then the movement starts to get really choppy and stupid looking. What is the best way to go about doing this?
