  • Can't play ANY video or MP3 in NONE of my players!!

    I can't play ANY video or listen ANY mp3. I got the Windows 7, and I was watching vids on youtube until yesterday, but today, NONE of my players in general works (youtube, WMP, Real Player, etc...)! Also, it doesn't help if I use another browser.... HELP! What happens is, I press 'play' on the video and then the window freezes and I just can press the 'x' to close it. Help, thanks A LOT!

    I have a single access point which i want to connect to on interface ra0, when I run /etc/init.d/ra0 restart I get the following output: gentoo ~ # /etc/init.d/net.ra0 restart * Starting ra0 * Configuring wireless network for ra0 Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) : SET failed on device ra0 ; Network is down. * ra0 does not support setting the mode to "managed" Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) : SET failed on device ra0 ; Network is down. * ra0 does not support setting keys * or the parameter "mac_key_roswell" or "key_roswell" is incorrect Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) : SET failed on device ra0 ; Network is down. * ra0 does not support setting the mode to "managed" * WEP key is not set for "BAY_WiFi" - not connecting * Couldn't associate with any access points on ra0 * Failed to configure wireless for ra0 when I run iwlist ra0 scan I get "roswell" and "bay-wifi" I want to connect to only roswell.     I was going through this link to understand CodeAccessSecurity: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/security/UB_CAS_NET.aspx It's a great article but it left me with following questions: If you can demand and get whatever permissions you want, then any executable can get Full_Trust on machine. If permissions are already there, then why do we need to demand those? Code is executing on Server, so the permissions are on server not on client machine? Article takes an example of removing write permissions from an assembly to show security exception. Though in real world, System.IO assembly (or related classes) will take care of these permissions. So is there a real scenario where we will need CAS?

  • [^.] causing headache in RewriteRule

    I am struggling with a very basic regex problem in my .htaccess file that I hope someone may be able to shed some light on. The basic premise is that I would like to teach Apache to switch any .html extension into a .var extension. I had thought that the rule would be positively trivial: RewriteRule ^([^.]+)\.html$ $1.var But the [^.] part simply doesn't work. Bizarrely, it works like so RewriteRule ^([^A-Z]+)\.html$ $1.var I do not understand why this latter rule works. Assume I am looking for a file called "index.html" then $1 should match to "index." and the ".html" bit should actually fail to match. To widen the scope of the question slightly, I am actually racking my brain on how to implement a multi-lingual site. I don't like Apache's MultiView option because it forces upon me a flat directory structure with file extensions that aren't recognizable to many development tools. I could go the .var type-map route but am finding that the default config for Apache doesn't support this all that well either (hence my excursions into regex land). So while I am using mod_rewrite, I am thinking that I might go the whole hog: whenever a request for a name.html file is received and this file does not exist, check whether there exists a XX/name.html file instead, where "XX" is the language code according to the user's preferences. This would give me a neater directory structure, though it does perhaps not perform as well as the .var approach in a situation where the language preference of the user's browser is not supported in by my site (in which situation .var would substitute EN or similar). Any thoughts? Thanks.

I am trying to set up a ListView with a rectangle of color on the left and then a bit of text for each row. I also want to make it so I can click each entry in the list and open a new activity to display some information (similar to the contact list). Anyone have any examples to help me out?   • Postgres : Post statement (or insert) asynchronous, non-blocking processing.

    I'm wondering if it is possible, that after a collection of rows is inserted, to initiate an operation that is executed asynchronously, is non-blocking, and doesn't need to inform the originator of the request - of the result. I am working with large amounts of events and I can guarantee that the post-insert logic will not fail -- I just want to have a single insert thread in my event-sources, and I want this thread to keep flying without blocking, and without being responsible for any post-delivery book-keeping. I can tell you that I would potentially have a 100 of these jobs executing concurrently and each job might operate on 5 tables with anywhere between 200-1000 inserts on each of these tables. A hint in the right direction should be enough.

    Hello, Am trying to find some text only if it contains english letters and numbers using Javascript/jQuery. Am wondering what is the most efficient way to do this?   • GAE Task Queue oddness

    I have been testing the taskqueue with mixed success. Currently I am using the default queue, in default settings ect ect.... I have a test url setup which inserts about 8 tasks into the queue. With short order, all 8 are completed properly. So far so good. The problem comes up when I re-load that url twice under say a minute. Now watching the task queue, all the tasks are added properly, but only the first batch execute it seems. But the "Run in Last Minute" # shows the right number of tasks being run.... The request logs tell a different story. They show only the first set of 8 running, but all task creation urls working successfully. The oddness of this is that if I wait say a minute between the task creation url requests, it will work fine. Oddly enough changing the bucket_size or execution speed does not seem to help. Only the first batch are executed. I have also reduced the number of requests all the way down to 2, and still found only the first 2 execute. Any others added display the same issues as above. Any suggestions? Thanks

  • Creating a db driven primary navigation in django?

    I find that it's pretty common most people hardcode the navigation into their templates, but I'm dealing with a pretty dynamic news site which might be better off if the primary nav was db driven. So I was thinking of having a Navigation model where each row would be a link. link_id INT primary key link_name varchar(255) url varchar(255) order INT active boolean If anyone's done something similar in the past, would you say this sort of schema is good enough? I also wanted for there to be an optional dropdown in the admin near the url field so that a user could choose a Category model's slug since category links would be common, but I'm not quite sure how that would be possible.

  • Alternative to DITA Open Toolkit

    I'm working on a web app that will need to process DITA documents from persistent storage (likely a JCR). The DITA Open Toolkit is the only DITA implementation I'm aware of, but it requires all of your documents to exist on the filesystem. Ideally, I'd like something that works like the DITA OT, but allows you to provide a resolver (much like an XSLT URIResolver) to pull referenced content from other sources. If people have other ideas, such as using a virtual filesystem to trick the DITA OT into working, I'd love to hear those too. Thanks!

  • WCF DataContracts and underlying data structures

    I am wondering what makes sense in relation to what objects to expose through a WCF service - should I add WCF Serialization specifications to my business entities or should I implement a converter that maps my business entities to the DataContracts that I want to expose through my WCF service? Right now I have entities on different levels: DataAccess, Business and Contract. I have converters in place that can map entities from DataAccess to Business and from Business to Contract and vice versa. Implementing and Maintaining those is time consuming and pretty tedious. What are best practices in relation to this? If I were using an OR/M such as NHibernate or Entity Framework should I be exposing the entities from the ORM directly or should I abstract them the same way I am doing now? Thanks in advance.

  • Firefox Upload Form Issue

    Ive created an uplaod script in php that takes a file, resizes it, and creates a cropped square thumbnail. The script itself seems to work fine. However, when i tried to upload an image through firefox, on clicking the submit button the browser shows the loading animation, but it never calls the script, it just stays on the current page. If dont upload an image, then the script can be found and is run. I tried in safari, and i dont get the same problem, i can upload an image from the form, it will process it and take me the correct page. Ive tired just calling a basic script from the form, it just prints out the $_POST and $_FILES, and i get the same result, if an image is present, it wont get to the script, if no image is present, it runs fine. Im just wondering if anyone has any idea whats going on?

  • JavaScript data grid for millions of rows

    I need to present millions of rows of data to users in a grid using JavaScript. I don't want the user thinking about viewing finite pieces of data; it should appear that all of the data is available. Rather than downloading all the data at once, small chunks are downloaded as the user comes to them (by scrolling, keying in row numbers, searching). The rows will not be edited through this front end, so read-only answers are acceptable. What JavaScript data grids are best for this kind of seamless paging?

  • GUI freezing after datagridviews have been updated using backgroundworkers

    I have made an application which runs three backgroundworkers simultaneously. It basically updates three datagridviews, which it is doing spot on. My problem is if I press maximizebox button or anywhere in any of the datagridview the program hangs for quite a long time. I am able to use the horizontal scroll but not vertical scrolls. I have tried Backgroundworker_runworkercompleted and it fires as required after threads have updated their respective datagridviews. Is it a normal behaviour or am i doing something wrong any suggestions would be helpful. P.S: I have run the whole program using step method and their is no infinite loop in the code. How comes the output of this code is: [0] [0, 1] [0, 1, 2] [0, 1, 2, 3] [0, 1, 2, 3, 4] ? If i switch obj = intlist() with obj = intlist(l=[]) I get the desired output [0] [1] [2] [3] [4] Why this happens? Thanks
