  • Downloading a Directory Tree with FTPLIB

    I'd like to download a directory and all of its contents to the local HD.   • Including Applet in JSP page

    Hi everyone, I wrote an Applet program which draws a pie chart. The values for the applet should be passed from JSP page. I wrote the following lines of code in JSP jsp:plugin type="applet" code="drawPie" codebase="." width="750" heigth="300" jsp:params jsp:param name="user_id" value="<% =user %" /jsp:params /jsp:plugin and in applet i used String user=getParameter("user_id"); when i open the jsp page nothing comes neither error nor the chart ........ What is the problem/error in the above code snippet.....

  • Can't remove Enter_Frame and stop TimerEvent

    I wanted to remove an ENTER_FRAME object and stopping an TimerEvent when I click on a button, and rerun ENTER_FRAME and TimerEvent when I click on another button. I've tried removeAddEventListener and stop() for the time, but I won't work. My question is what purpose of using trigraphs? Is there any practical advantage of using trigraphs? UPD: In answers was mentioned that some European keyboards don't have all the punctuation characters, so non-US programmers have to use trigraphs in everyday life? UPD2: Visual Studio 2010 has trigraph support turned off by default.

  • How to create ActiveX DLL in Visual C++

    Is there a tutorial/reference for creating an ActiveX DLL in Visual Studio 2008 C++ ? I've got a DLL built with the DLLRegisterServer/UnregisterServer, and it's registered, but I'm having a little trouble figuring out what name to use to reference it (from a vbscript) and how to make sure my functions are exported correctly. Do I have to put my functions in a special class? Thanks!

  • Do you continue development in a branch or in the trunk?

    Suppose you're developing a software product that has periodic releases. What are the best practices with regard to branching and merging? Slicing off periodic release branches to the public (or whomever your customer is) and then continuing development on the trunk, or considering the trunk the stable version, tagging it as a release periodically, and doing your experimental work in branches. What do folks think is the trunk considered "gold" or considered a "sand box"?

  • "this network location can't be included because it is not indexed" on Windows 2008R2 Remote Desktop

    I'm setting up a new terminal server for our users on Win2008R2 (I guess I should call it Remote Desktop Services now!) When I try to change the location of "Documents" (by removing the default Documents library and adding a new one), to use the file server ie \\fileserver\username\Documents I get the message: "This network location can't be included because it is not indexed" I certainly don't want to make folders available offline, and in fact, I have set the GPO to prohibit offline folders on the terminal servers. What is the best practice for document libraries on terminal server and network file shares?

  • PHP class constant string variable spanning over multiple lines

    I want to have a string variable for a PHP class, which would be available to all methods. However, this variable is quite long, so I want to separate it into multiple lines. For example, $variable = "line 1" . "line 2" . "line 3"; But above doesn't work. I tried EOD, but EOD is not allowed within class. And when I declare it outside the class, I can't access the variable from within the class. What is the best way?

  • Redirecting exec output to a buffer or file

    I'm writing a C program where I fork(), exec(), and wait(). I'd like to take the output of the program I exec'ed to write it to file or buffer. For example, if I exec ls I want to write file1 file2 etc to buffer/file. I don't think there is a way to read stdout, so does that mean I have to use a pipe? Is there a general procedure here that I haven't been able to find?
