  • Row concat from this query

    - by Álvaro G. Vicario
I have this query: SELECT DISTINCT IM.EDIFICIOS_ID, TI.TITULAR FROM IMPORTACION IM INNER JOIN I_EDIFICIO IE ON IM.IMPORTACION_ID=IE.IMPORTACION_ID INNER JOIN I_EDIFICIO_TITULAR ET ON IM.IMPORTACION_ID=ET.IMPORTACION_ID AND IE.EDIFICIO_ID=ET.EDIFICIO_ID INNER JOIN I_TITULAR TI ON IM.IMPORTACION_ID=TI.IMPORTACION_ID AND ET.TITULAR_ID=TI.TITULAR_ID WHERE TI.TITULAR IS NOT NULL AND TI.TITULAR<>'' ORDER BY IM.EDIFICIOS_ID, TI.TITULAR; that returns this result set: EDIFICIOS_ID TITULAR ------------ ------------------ 1911 Ana María García 1911 Anselmo Piedrahita 1911 Manuel López 2594 Carlos Pérez 2594 Felisa García 6865 Carlos Pérez 6865 Felisa García 8428 Carlos Pérez I want to concatenate the values from TITULAR for each EDIFICIOS_ID, so I get this: EDIFICIOS_ID TITULAR ------------ ------------------ 1911 Ana María García; Anselmo Piedrahita; Manuel López 2594 Carlos Pérez; Felisa García 6865 Carlos Pérez; Felisa García 8428 Carlos Pérez I'm trying to use the FOR XML PATH trick. I've used it in the past but, since I can't really understand how it works, I can't figure out how to apply it to this specific case. Can you provide me with some ideas?

  • Memory efficient import many data files into panda DataFrame in Python

    - by richardh
I import into a panda DataFrame a directory of |-delimited.dat files. The following code works, but I eventually run out of RAM with a MemoryError:. import pandas as pd import glob temp = [] dataDir = 'C:/users/richard/research/data/edgar/masterfiles' for dataFile in glob.glob(dataDir + '/master_*.dat'): print dataFile temp.append(pd.read_table(dataFile, delimiter='|', header=0)) masterAll = pd.concat(temp) Is there a more memory efficient approach? Or should I go whole hog to a database? (I will move to a database eventually, but I am baby stepping my move to pandas.) Thanks! FWIW, here is the head of an example .dat file: cik|cname|ftype|date|fileloc 1000032|BINCH JAMES G|4|2011-03-08|edgar/data/1000032/0001181431-11-016512.txt 1000045|NICHOLAS FINANCIAL INC|10-Q|2011-02-11|edgar/data/1000045/0001193125-11-031933.txt 1000045|NICHOLAS FINANCIAL INC|8-K|2011-01-11|edgar/data/1000045/0001193125-11-005531.txt 1000045|NICHOLAS FINANCIAL INC|8-K|2011-01-27|edgar/data/1000045/0001193125-11-015631.txt 1000045|NICHOLAS FINANCIAL INC|SC 13G/A|2011-02-14|edgar/data/1000045/0000929638-11-00151.txt

  • Oracle Joins XBRL US To Help Drive Adoption

    - by Theresa Hickman
Recently, Oracle joined XBRL US, the national consortium for XML business reporting standards to stay ahead of the technology and help increase XBRL adoption by U.S. companies by 2011. Large accelerated filers were mandated to use XBRL starting in 2009; other large filers started in 2010 and all other public companies must comply in June 2011. Here is a list of other organizations that recently joined XBRL US: Oracle Citi Federal Filings LLC Edgar Agents LLC XSP For those of you who have been living under a rock, XBRL stands for eXtensible Business Reporting Language. Simply put, it's reporting electronically. Just like PDFs or spreadsheets are a type of output, XBRL is another output option in electronic form. Right now, the transition to XBRL means extra work for publicly traded companies because they need to file their financial statements in both EDGAR and XBRL formats. Once the SEC phases out the EDGAR system, XBRL will be the primary way to deliver financial information with footnotes and supporting schedules to multiple audiences without having to re-key or reformat the information. A single XBRL document can be converted to printed output, published via the Web, fed into an SEC database (e.g. EDGAR) or forwarded to a creditor for analysis. Question: How does Oracle support XBRL reporting? Answer: The latest XBRL 2.1 specifications are supported by Oracle Hyperion Disclosure Management, which is part of Oracle's Hyperion Financial Close Suite along with Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management and Hyperion Financial Close Management. Hyperion Disclosure Management supports the authoring of financial filings in Microsoft Office, with "hot links" to reports and data stored in Hyperion Financial Management or Oracle Essbase. It supports the XBRL tagging of financial statements as well as the disclosures and footnotes within your 10K and 10Q filings. Because many of our customers use Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) for their consolidation needs, they simply generate XBRL statements from their consolidated financial results. Question: What if you don't use Hyperion Financial Management, and you only use E-Business Suite General Ledger or PeopleSoft General Ledger? Answer: No problem, all you need is Hyperion Disclosure Management to generate XBRL from your general ledger. Here are the steps: Upload the XBRL taxonomy from the SEC or XBRL website into Hyperion Disclosure Management. Publish your financial statements out of general ledger to Excel. Perform the XBRL tag mapping from the Excel output to Hyperion Disclosure Management. For more information and some interesting background on XBRL, I recommend reading What You Need To Know About XBRL written by our EPM expert, John O'Rourke.

  • Pluscom MAC address shows up but "wireless unavailable"

  • Creating site with wix.com or weebly.com [on hold]

    - by Edgar
I decided to create web page and for that purpose I find out that I can use wix.com portal. My knowledge of HTML,CSS is on basic level. So I want to ask what are pros and cons of creating webPages using WIX to compare with making your on your own (writing code by yourself). One of the questions is: can I put custom advertisements to the my page. Also would appreciate of suggestions what portal is better for wix.com or weebly.com or for good website I should choose codding by myself? Finally, would be nice to get any suggestions in this field.

  • Google Webmaster Tools reports fake 404 errors

    - by Edgar Quintero
I have a website where Google Webmaster Tools reports 15,000 links as 404 errors. However, all links return a 200 when I visit them. The problem is, that eventhough I can visit these pages and return a 200, all those 15,000 pages won't index in Google. They aren't appearing in search results. These are constant errors Google Webmaster Tools keeps reporting and I'm not sure what the problem is. We've thought of a DNS issue, but it shouldn't be a DNS issue, because if it were, no page would be indexed (I have 10,000 perfectly indexed). Regarding URL parameters, my pages do not share a similarity in URL parameters that can make it obvious to me what could be causing the error.

  • How do I keep my Huawei E3131 3G modem from unmounting?

    - by John Perez
I need help getting my Huawei E3131 modem to (consistently) work. I am currently running Ubuntu 12.04.2 and 3G dongles have worked many times before. However, my newly acquired Huawei E3131 is causing problems. When plugged in, Ubuntu detects the device as a CD-ROM and a modem. I can browse the dongle's contents using Nautilus and Network Manager is able to configure and work the dongle out-of-the-box. I can even get to surf. However, within minutes, the connection drops and the CD-ROM is unmounted. I wait about 15 seconds, then the CD-ROM mounts again and Network Manager is able to connect again with short-lived surfing. Rinse, lather and repeat. It's strange that the device mounts as a CD-ROM, but works as a modem, too, suggesting that mode switching happens somewhere. It's not a signal coverage problem, either because I tested the same SIM card using 3 other different dongles (2 ZTEs and another Huawei) and it is only this E3131 that has this problem. If pertinent, the other dongles weren't being detected as CD-ROMs. Output of lsusb Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0020 Intel Corp. • MS Grad Student Project

    - by Bernie Perez
I'm a computer science grad student at UCLA specializing in security and/or mobile devices. I'm looking for ideas for my M.S. Project. Something with research and experimenting or testing. I have a few in mind, just wondering if the community has some good thoughts. I'm currently working on a project that deals with offload security related operations to a grid-powered/cloud server to improve battery life on phones or tablets, aka Security-Aware software on mobile devices. I might be able to expand on this for my project... but I'm open to any new types of ideas. I have another idea about secure communications with a peer-2-peer ad-hoc network, but its seems a little dull. Hope this questions is not off topic for this StackExchange. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas.

I am having issues installing 12.10 on a laptop from bootable USB Drive 4GB FAT32. Also I changed order on BIOS to boot from USB. But only I see is the black screen with SYSLINUX 4.06 EDD 4.06-pre7 Copyright (C) 1994-2012 H. Peter Anvin et al _ I tried to install 12.10 into my older laptop using the same bootable USB drive just to be sure, and it's all works fine! I have also trying different USB drives, but results were the same. So it looks like there is nothing wrong with my bootable USB drives. Something is wrong with my laptop, but I can't figure out what exactly, because it's very new and Windows7 boots and runs just great. I Googled but found nothing useful. My laptop is really a small one: Acer AOD270 Protcessor: Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU N26OO 1.60 GHz RAM: 1 GB Windows 7 Starter 32 bit It has no CD drive Any help would be really appreciated please.

  • Is it safe to block redirected (but still linked) URLs with robots.txt?

    - by Edgar Quintero
I have a website that has all URLs optimized and 301 redirected from nasty URLs to clean ones. However, everywhere throughout the site the unclean URLs are linked in menus, content, products, etc. Google currently has all clean URLs indexed, along with a few unclean URLs too. So the site still has linked everywhere the old URLs (ideally this wouldn't be the case but this is how it is ATM). I would like to block the unclean URLs with robots.txt. The question: if I block these unclean URLs with the robots.txt, when the entire website is linked with them (but they all redirect to the clean version), will this affect the indexing status at all?

  • How to fo fluid dynamics like Where's My Water?

There is a game on the app store called "Where's My Water" that is really fun and uses fluid dynamics in it's gameplay. You can check out a video of the game play here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnFFWnwOohk. You use your finger to remove dirt from the screen, and then the water just flows to the new area. Anyone know what engine this was made in and how they where able to get the fluid dynamics in there? I'm using the Corona SDK for mobile development and want to do something similar like this (a game with fluid dynamics).

  • Easiest turn-base games you can think of?

    - by Edgar Miranda
I'm planning to get into the process of programming multiplayer turn-base games. I would like to start off by making some of the simplest (yet fun) multiplayer turn-base games out there. What are some that you can provide? For example... Tic-Tac-Toe Rock-Paper-Scissors Checkers Some not so easy games... 4 in a row chess poker In terms of "ease" of implementation I'm mainly looking at logic. For example, Rock-Paper-Scissors has very simple logic, while chess has logic that is more complicated. So far I have the following: Hexagon Heroes of Might and Magic Nine Men's Morris Connect 4 21 (card game) Pen the Pig (The Dot game) Memory Match

  • Why I can't see my desktop icons in ubuntu 13.04?

    - by Edgar
I just installed Ubuntu 13.04 in my laptop Aspire-M3-5871TG, and I can't see anything (neither icons, ...). Only is visible the desktop background but I can open and work with the terminal. Maybe the problem is related with Nvidia Geforce GT 640M vs Unity. I've tried several commands: dconf reset -f /org/compiz/ unity --reset-icons &disown and unity --replace & but nothing happens. I've tried other commands as well: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install nvidia-current and nothing happens. I've also tried to install tweak but is it not possible to find it. Thus, I can't do nothing ... Definetely my laptop is not compatible with Ubuntu 13.04?

  • How much time takes to a new language like D to become popular? [closed]

    - by Adrián Pérez
I was reading about new languages for me to learn and I find very good comments about D, like it's the new C or what C++ should have been. Knowing that many people say wonders about the language, I'm wondering how much time usually takes to a language to become popular. This is, having libraries ported or written natively for this language and being used in serious software development. I have read about the history of Java, and Python to figure it out, but may be they are too high level complexity to say their development could take the same time as will take for D.

  • What's the location of a personal 'gtkrc' file in Ubuntu 12.04?

    - by Kevin Perez
Good day everyone! I am currently writting a software that makes easy to change default cursor theme with a few clicks. At this point it works well, but applications like Firefox or Lazarus IDE remain with the DMZ-White cursor, everything else is ok. I noticed that when I change the default cursor using my software, and later change the 'personalized' cursor theme using Ubuntu Tweak, it does the job, and the new theme is now applied everywhere. So, what file is need to modify in order to change 'personal' cursor theme? If my software can do this, that would be great! I found that 'gtkrc' is a file where settings of GTK+ are stored. I searched in my home folder but I can't find yet. Can you help me with this, noble people of Ubuntu? :)

  • How do client-server cooperation based games like Diablo 3 work?

    - by edgar
Diablo 3 cooperates with Blizzard servers even during single player games. In fact, Blizzard has had problems with the games "melting their servers." I would like to ask: How do the client and the server communicate? What details does the client leave to the server, and vice versa? What details are redundant - both the client and the server know - and how often do they disagree? The previous paragraph contains the important questions, but I have a few more that I must explain my motivation towards. I am interested in the programming of botting. Ethical botting - I don't plan on actually abusing the automation to run 24/7. I just find it to be a great programming challenge to glean information from a game, and then make decisions from that information. I am stuck in the starting gate. The unofficial questions from this post would be: How can I make a bot (language, tools, libraries)? Can I get information through the communication between client and server, rather than the brute force pixel detection easily used in more static games? There probably is a trust issue, and to that all I can say is that I promise not to abuse the answers. But please feel free to answer any of the questions you feel comfortable with. Thank you!

  • Memcached session manager in Azure: Connection gets forcibly closed

    - by Edgar Pérez
I am using Memcached Session Manager to handle Tomcat sessions in non-sticky mode. My deployment in Azure consists of a Worker Role with two instances which connect to an Azure VM running my Memcached server. Everything works pretty well, my session is persisted and retrieved by any of the two instances transparently. The problem arises when the session is idle for about 4 minutes; everything points out that the Azure Loadbalancer is closing the spymemcached connection to the VM after some period of inactivity. My MSM configuration is this: <Manager className="de.javakaffee.web.msm.MemcachedBackupSessionManager" memcachedNodes="n1:my-azure-vm.cloudapp.net:11211" sticky="false" sessionBackupAsync="false" sessionBackupTimeout="10000" lockingMode="uriPattern:/path1|/path2" requestUriIgnorePattern=".*\.(ico|png|gif|jpg|css|js|ttf|eot|svg|woff)$" transcoderFactoryClass="de.javakaffee.web.msm.serializer.kryo.KryoTranscoderFactory" customConverter="de.javakaffee.web.msm.serializer.kryo.HibernateCollectionsSerializerFactory"/> The stacktrace printed by the spymemcached client is this: INFO net.spy.memcached.MemcachedConnection: Reconnecting due to exception on {QA sa=/10.194.132.206:13000, #Rops=1, #Wops=0, #iq=0, topRop=net.spy.memcached.protocol.binary.StoreOperationImpl@1d95da8, topWop=null, toWrite=0, interested=1} java.io.IOException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host at sun.nio.ch.SocketDispatcher.read0(Native Method) at sun.nio.ch.SocketDispatcher.read(Unknown Source) at sun.nio.ch.IOUtil.readIntoNativeBuffer(Unknown Source) at sun.nio.ch.IOUtil.read(Unknown Source) at sun.nio.ch.SocketChannelImpl.read(Unknown Source) at net.spy.memcached.MemcachedConnection.handleReads (MemcachedConnection.java:303) at net.spy.memcached.MemcachedConnection.handleIO (MemcachedConnection.java:264) at net.spy.memcached.MemcachedConnection.handleIO (MemcachedConnection.java:184) at net.spy.memcached.MemcachedClient.run(MemcachedClient.java:1298) Given this idle time limitation in Azure, is there any other way to make MSM work in the azure cloud?

  • Roaming Profiles, Folder redirection or... both

    - by Adrian Perez
Hello, i'm developing a remote desktop services in w2008r2. Now, it's going to be a server, but in the future it's possible that another server could be added to the farm. Now, i'm creating roaming profiles and folder redirection to save space. Now, i have some doubts... if i'm redirecting all the folders i can do through gpo (start menu, desktop, appdata, My Documents, Videos, Music...), does it make sense to use roaming profiles? I mean, i'm redirecting almost everything. So, if i don't use roaming profiles, what kind of data is not shared/roamed? Perhaps is not necessary and if i set roaming profiles, i will add more unnecessary complexity to the infraestructure. What do you think about? Some advice or recomendation? Thanks!

  • How do I put back different SCSI hard drives into their original RAID arrays across different servers?

    - by Edgar
I have potentially a big mess in my hands: I received today a box with several hard drives that used to be connected to different servers each one of them using an unknown - at least as of right now- RAID configuration. Regretfully, these are not marked and I'm not sure how to go about putting them back into their original servers. Currently I don't have much more information: I don't know what type of array was being used on each instance and I don't have any specifics about the RAID controller originally used on each one of the servers (currently these servers are at a remote location with no easy access). Is there a way to sort through this mess? What would be the consequences of using trial and error to go about it? This might be a very basic question but I don't have much experience dealing with RAID arrays.

  • Big Data – Evolution of Big Data – Day 3 of 21

    - by Pinal Dave
In yesterday’s blog post we answered what is the Big Data. Today we will understand why and how the evolution of Big Data has happened. Though the answer is very simple, I would like to tell it in the form of a history lesson. Data in Flat File In earlier days data was stored in the flat file and there was no structure in the flat file.  If any data has to be retrieved from the flat file it was a project by itself. There was no possibility of retrieving the data efficiently and data integrity has been just a term discussed without any modeling or structure around. Database residing in the flat file had more issues than we would like to discuss in today’s world. It was more like a nightmare when there was any data processing involved in the application. Though, applications developed at that time were also not that advanced the need of the data was always there and there was always need of proper data management. Edgar F Codd and 12 Rules Edgar Frank Codd was a British computer scientist who, while working for IBM, invented the relational model for database management, the theoretical basis for relational databases. He presented 12 rules for the Relational Database and suddenly the chaotic world of the database seems to see discipline in the rules. Relational Database was a promising land for all the unstructured database users. Relational Database brought into the relationship between data as well improved the performance of the data retrieval. Database world had immediately seen a major transformation and every single vendors and database users suddenly started to adopt the relational database models. Relational Database Management Systems Since Edgar F Codd proposed 12 rules for the RBDMS there were many different vendors who started them to build applications and tools to support the relationship between database. This was indeed a learning curve for many of the developer who had never worked before with the modeling of the database. However, as time passed by pretty much everybody accepted the relationship of the database and started to evolve product which performs its best with the boundaries of the RDBMS concepts. This was the best era for the databases and it gave the world extreme experts as well as some of the best products. The Entity Relationship model was also evolved at the same time. In software engineering, an Entity–relationship model (ER model) is a data model for describing a database in an abstract way. Enormous Data Growth Well, everything was going fine with the RDBMS in the database world. As there were no major challenges the adoption of the RDBMS applications and tools was pretty much universal. There was a race at times to make the developer’s life much easier with the RDBMS management tools. Due to the extreme popularity and easy to use system pretty much every data was stored in the RDBMS system. New age applications were built and social media took the world by the storm. Every organizations was feeling pressure to provide the best experience for their users based the data they had with them. While this was all going on at the same time data was growing pretty much every organization and application. Data Warehousing The enormous data growth now presented a big challenge for the organizations who wanted to build intelligent systems based on the data and provide near real time superior user experience to their customers. Various organizations immediately start building data warehousing solutions where the data was stored and processed. The trend of the business intelligence becomes the need of everyday. Data was received from the transaction system and overnight was processed to build intelligent reports from it. Though this is a great solution it has its own set of challenges. The relational database model and data warehousing concepts are all built with keeping traditional relational database modeling in the mind and it still has many challenges when unstructured data was present. Interesting Challenge Every organization had expertise to manage structured data but the world had already changed to unstructured data. There was intelligence in the videos, photos, SMS, text, social media messages and various other data sources. All of these needed to now bring to a single platform and build a uniform system which does what businesses need. The way we do business has also been changed. There was a time when user only got the features what technology supported, however, now users ask for the feature and technology is built to support the same. The need of the real time intelligence from the fast paced data flow is now becoming a necessity. Large amount (Volume) of difference (Variety) of high speed data (Velocity) is the properties of the data. The traditional database system has limits to resolve the challenges this new kind of the data presents. Hence the need of the Big Data Science. We need innovation in how we handle and manage data.
