  • Hudson Mercurial checkout throws exception on Debian

    - by Jack
I'm trying to configure Hudson to checkout my site's sources from Mercurial but it throws an exception. The /var/lib/hudson/jobs/jobname directory does exist, and I can create a workspace directory in there (even after su hudson), but as soon as I run the Hudson job again this directory disappears and the job ends with the same error: java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "hg" (in directory "/var/lib/hudson/jobs/jobname/workspace"): java.io.IOException: error=2, No such file or directory at java.lang.ProcessBuilder.start(ProcessBuilder.java:460) at hudson.Proc$LocalProc.<init>(Proc.java:192) at hudson.Proc$LocalProc.<init>(Proc.java:164) at hudson.Launcher$LocalLauncher.launch(Launcher.java:639) at hudson.Launcher$ProcStarter.start(Launcher.java:274) at hudson.Launcher$ProcStarter.join(Launcher.java:281) at hudson.plugins.mercurial.MercurialSCM.joinWithPossibleTimeout(MercurialSCM.java:298) at hudson.plugins.mercurial.HgExe.popen(HgExe.java:191) at hudson.plugins.mercurial.HgExe.tip(HgExe.java:171) at hudson.plugins.mercurial.MercurialSCM.calcRevisionsFromBuild(MercurialSCM.java:254) at hudson.scm.SCM._calcRevisionsFromBuild(SCM.java:304) at hudson.model.AbstractProject.calcPollingBaseline(AbstractProject.java:1183) at hudson.model.AbstractProject.checkout(AbstractProject.java:1172) at hudson.model.AbstractBuild$AbstractRunner.checkout(AbstractBuild.java:499) at hudson.model.AbstractBuild$AbstractRunner.run(AbstractBuild.java:415) at hudson.model.Run.run(Run.java:1362) at hudson.model.FreeStyleBuild.run(FreeStyleBuild.java:46) at hudson.model.ResourceController.execute(ResourceController.java:88) at hudson.model.Executor.run(Executor.java:145) Caused by: java.io.IOException: java.io.IOException: error=2, No such file or directory at java.lang.UNIXProcess.<init>(UNIXProcess.java:148) at java.lang.ProcessImpl.start(ProcessImpl.java:65) at java.lang.ProcessBuilder.start(ProcessBuilder.java:453) Running on Debian 6.0.1 I wonder if anyone has ran into this before, and hopefully solved it?

  • Hudson on debian lenny

    - by Laurent
Hello, I installed Hudson deamon on one server (running on debian lenny testing) some time ago. All was working until I perform an upgrade. At this time Hudson isn't accessible at port 8080 (which is the default port used). I have looked for iptables problems, however port 8080 is open in INPUT and OUTPUT. Configuration file in /etc/default/hudson seems okay, I haven't touch it. And if I do a ps aux | grep hudson, hudson deamon is running. Update 1: What is really strange for me is that in /var/log/hudson/hudson.log I get no error : [Winstone 2010/02/10 17:10:04] - Control thread shutdown successfully [Winstone 2010/02/10 17:10:04] - Winstone shutdown successfully Running from: /usr/share/hudson/hudson.war [Winstone 2010/02/10 17:10:43] - Beginning extraction from war file hudson home directory: /var/lib/hudson [Winstone 2010/02/10 17:10:44] - HTTP Listener started: port=8080 [Winstone 2010/02/10 17:10:44] - AJP13 Listener started: port=8009 [Winstone 2010/02/10 17:10:44] - Winstone Servlet Engine v0.9.10 running: controlPort=disabled 10 févr. 2010 17:10:44 hudson.model.Hudson$4 onAttained INFO: Started initialization 10 févr. 2010 17:10:44 hudson.model.Hudson$4 onAttained INFO: Listed all plugins 10 févr. 2010 17:10:44 hudson.model.Hudson$4 onAttained INFO: Prepared all plugins 10 févr. 2010 17:10:44 hudson.model.Hudson$4 onAttained INFO: Started all plugins 10 févr. 2010 17:10:46 hudson.model.Hudson$4 onAttained INFO: Loaded all jobs 10 févr. 2010 17:10:46 hudson.model.Hudson$4 onAttained INFO: Completed initialization 10 févr. 2010 17:10:47 org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext prepareRefresh INFO: Refreshing org.springframework.web.context.support.StaticWebApplicationContext@caa559d: display name [Root WebApplicationContext]; startup date [Wed Feb 10 17:10:47 CET 2010]; root of context hierarchy 10 févr. 2010 17:10:47 org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext obtainFreshBeanFactory INFO: Bean factory for application context [org.springframework.web.context.support.StaticWebApplicationContext@caa559d]: org.springframework.beans.factory.support.DefaultListableBeanFactory@40d2f5f1 10 févr. 2010 17:10:47 org.springframework.beans.factory.support.DefaultListableBeanFactory preInstantiateSingletons INFO: Pre-instantiating singletons in org.springframework.beans.factory.support.DefaultListableBeanFactory@40d2f5f1: defining beans [daoAuthenticationProvider, authenticationManager, userDetailsService]; root of factory hierarchy 10 févr. 2010 17:10:47 org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext prepareRefresh INFO: Refreshing org.springframework.web.context.support.StaticWebApplicationContext@4d88a387: display name [Root WebApplicationContext]; startup date [Wed Feb 10 17:10:47 CET 2010]; root of context hierarchy 10 févr. 2010 17:10:47 org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext obtainFreshBeanFactory INFO: Bean factory for application context [org.springframework.web.context.support.StaticWebApplicationContext@4d88a387]: org.springframework.beans.factory.support.DefaultListableBeanFactory@6153e0c0 10 févr. 2010 17:10:47 org.springframework.beans.factory.support.DefaultListableBeanFactory preInstantiateSingletons INFO: Pre-instantiating singletons in org.springframework.beans.factory.support.DefaultListableBeanFactory@6153e0c0: defining beans [filter, legacy]; root of factory hierarchy 10 févr. 2010 17:10:47 hudson.TcpSlaveAgentListener <init> INFO: JNLP slave agent listener started on TCP port 59750 Update 2: What I get with lsof -i -n -P | grep hudson: java 28985 hudson 97u IPv6 2002707 0t0 TCP *:8080 (LISTEN) java 28985 hudson 99u IPv6 2002708 0t0 TCP *:8009 (LISTEN) java 28985 hudson 147u IPv6 2002711 0t0 TCP *:59750 (LISTEN) java 28985 hudson 150u IPv6 2002712 0t0 UDP *:33848 I don't know what I can verify. • Usage of putty in command line from Hudson

    - by kij
Hi, I'm trying to use putty in command line from an hudson job. The command is the following one: putty -ssh -2 -P 22 USERNAME@SERVER_ADDR -pw PASS -m command.txt Where 'command.txt' is a shell script to execute in the server through SSH. If i launch a build of the hudson job configured with this batch command, it doesn't work. The build is running... and running... and running.. without doing anything, and i have to stop it manually. So my question is: Is it possible to launch an external programm (i.e. putty) from an hudson job ? ps: i tried SSH plugin but... not a really good plugin (pre/post build, fail status of the commands launched not caught by hudson, etc.) Thanks in advance for your help. • Hudson plugin, Java error "... disagree on InnerClasses attribute"

    - by StackedCrooked
I am trying to be able to step through the code of a Hudson plugin called SVNPublisher. I checked out the code for SVNPublisher, used Netbeans to open the project, and clicked "Debug Main project". This results in a Firefox window opening address http://localhost:8080 which shows the Hudson main page. Clicking the "New Job" link results in an error page: HTTP ERROR: 500 jar:file:/home/francis/svn/svnpublisher/target/work/webapp/WEB-INF/lib/hudson-core-1.319.jar!/lib/hudson/newFromList/form.jelly:43:47: <j:forEach> hudson.scm.SubversionTagAction and hudson.scm.SubversionTagAction$DescriptorImpl disagree on InnerClasses attribute RequestURI=/newJob Caused by: org.apache.commons.jelly.JellyTagException: jar:file:/home/francis/svn/svnpublisher/target/work/webapp/WEB-INF/lib/hudson-core-1.319.jar!/lib/hudson/newFromList/form.jelly:43:47: hudson.scm.SubversionTagAction and hudson.scm.SubversionTagAction$DescriptorImpl disagree on InnerClasses attribute at org.apache.commons.jelly.impl.TagScript.handleException(TagScript.java:713) at org.apache.commons.jelly.impl.TagScript.run(TagScript.java:282) at org.apache.commons.jelly.impl.ScriptBlock.run(ScriptBlock.java:95) ... I am very new to Hudson and not very experienced with Java so I'm pretty much clueless on the meaning of this error. Can anyone help?

  • Hudson + Jboss AS 7.1 + Maven 3 Project Build Error

    - by Zehra Gül Çabuk
I've wanted to prepare an environment that I'm able to build my project and run my tests on a integration server. So I've installed an Jboss application server 7.1 and deployed hudson.war to it. Then I've created a project to trigger "mvn clean install" and when I built it I've got following exception. So how can I configure the hudson to force it looking at the right place for jars? Is there anyone has an idea? Thanks in advance.

  • Hudson.. another Continuous Integration tool

    - by Narendra Tiwari
In my previous posts I discussed about Cruisecontrol.net and its legacy support to .Net development. Hudson  is yet another continuous integration tool. Hudson is also free like CCNet and built in java. - CCNet has its legacy support to .Net applications where as Hudson can be easily configured on both the environments (.Net and Java). - One of the major differences in CCNet and Hudson is the richer GUI of Hudson provide user interactive screens for project configuration where as in CCNet we have to play with a few xml configuration files. Both the tools are capable of providing basic features of continuous integration e.g.:- - Source Control configuration - Code Compilation/Build - Ad hoc plugin tools to be configured along with compilation Support for adhoc tools seems to be bigger with CCNet e.g. There are almost every source control plugin available with CCNet where as Hudson has support for limited source control servers. Basically there is an interseting point to see is that there are 2 major partsof whole CI system one performed by build tool and rest. Build tool takes care of all adhoc plugin tools  so no matter if CI tool does not have plugin for that tool if thet tools provides command line support that can be configured in build tool and that build tool is then configured with CI tool inturn. For example if I have a build script configured in MSBuild and CCNet can be easily switched to Hudson. Here we need not to change anything in build script we just need to configure MSBuild on Hudson and pass the path of script file and thats it... all is same. • Hudson fails to use unix user/group to do authentication

    - by Kane
I'm trying to use unix user/group database as security realm of hudson. The linux server is using NIS for user management. My account could login the hudson server via ssh. And the hudson server is running by user 'hudson' that is also a member of group 'shadow', so hudson could read /etc/shadow. And I tested the configuration using 'test' button, hudson tells me it works well. But I can't use my unix account and password to login the hudson sever. And I found below java exception in the log of hudson, Jan 12, 2011 8:23:42 AM hudson.security.AuthenticationProcessingFilter2 onUnsuccessfulAuthentication INFO: Login attempt failed org.acegisecurity.BadCredentialsException: pam_authenticate failed : Authentication failure; nested exception is org.jvnet.libpam.PAMException: pam_authenticate failed : Authentication failure at hudson.security.PAMSecurityRealm$PAMAuthenticationProvider.authenticate(PAMSecurityRealm.java:100) at org.acegisecurity.providers.ProviderManager.doAuthentication(ProviderManager.java:195) at org.acegisecurity.AbstractAuthenticationManager.authenticate(AbstractAuthenticationManager.java:45) at org.acegisecurity.ui.webapp.AuthenticationProcessingFilter.attemptAuthentication(AuthenticationProcessingFilter.java:71) at org.acegisecurity.ui.AbstractProcessingFilter.doFilter(AbstractProcessingFilter.java:252) at hudson.security.ChainedServletFilter$1.doFilter(ChainedServletFilter.java:87) at org.acegisecurity.ui.basicauth.BasicProcessingFilter.doFilter(BasicProcessingFilter.java:173) at hudson.security.ChainedServletFilter$1.doFilter(ChainedServletFilter.java:87) at org.acegisecurity.context.HttpSessionContextIntegrationFilter.doFilter(HttpSessionContextIntegrationFilter.java:249) at hudson.security.HttpSessionContextIntegrationFilter2.doFilter(HttpSessionContextIntegrationFilter2.java:66) at hudson.security.ChainedServletFilter$1.doFilter(ChainedServletFilter.java:87) at hudson.security.ChainedServletFilter.doFilter(ChainedServletFilter.java:76) at hudson.security.HudsonFilter.doFilter(HudsonFilter.java:164) at winstone.FilterConfiguration.execute(FilterConfiguration.java:195) at winstone.RequestDispatcher.doFilter(RequestDispatcher.java:368) at winstone.RequestDispatcher.forward(RequestDispatcher.java:333) at winstone.RequestHandlerThread.processRequest(RequestHandlerThread.java:244) at winstone.RequestHandlerThread.run(RequestHandlerThread.java:150) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:595) Caused by: org.jvnet.libpam.PAMException: pam_authenticate failed : Authentication failure at org.jvnet.libpam.PAM.check(PAM.java:105) at org.jvnet.libpam.PAM.authenticate(PAM.java:123) at hudson.security.PAMSecurityRealm$PAMAuthenticationProvider.authenticate(PAMSecurityRealm.java:90) ... 18 more

Hi. I've created almost the same plugin as JobTypeColumn. There is only one difference - it shows job description instead of job type. But after i can't add this column to my list view. • Correct configuration of a reverse Proxy with IIS 6.0 and IIRF for Hudson

    - by Durden81
I have an Hudson build working on IIS 6.0 with reverse proxy (IIRF). In general it works but 2 errors are displayed in Hudson in the main configuration page called "Manage Hudson" (only if I connect through the reverse proxy): Your container doesn't use UTF-8 to decode URLs. If you use non-ASCII characters as a job name etc, this will cause problems. See Containers and Tomcat i18n for more details. It appears that your reverse proxy set up is broken This is my configuration of IIRF: RewriteLog C:\logsIIRF.txt RewriteLogLevel 2 IterationLimit 10 MaxMatchCount 10 RewriteEngine ON StatusInquiry ON UrlDecoding 0FF # add a trailing slash: RedirectRule ^/hudson$ /hudson/ [I] # Does the reverse Proxy ProxyPass ^/hudson/(.*)$ http://localhost:8080/hudson/$1 [I] ProxyPassReverse /hudson http://localhost:8080/hudson Any suggestion on how to get rid of those errors?

  • How to deploy on a remote machine using hudson's WAS Builder Plugin?

    - by Peter Schuetze
I have a hudson build server (Windows) that does not have Websphere installed. I created a Hudson node that I connect to via SSH. I also installed the WAS Builder Plugin to run jython scripts on the AIX machine. The job that uses the WAS Builder Plugin is tied to the AIX box. I run into errors. Does anybody know, whether that setup might work or if a different setup will work for the WAS Builder Plugin? EDIT: I get following Error Message: [test] $ cmd /c call /tmp/hudson9035964108103168395.bat FATAL: command execution failed java.io.IOException: cmd: not found at java.lang.UNIXProcess.fullPath(UNIXProcess.java:372) at java.lang.UNIXProcess.<init>(UNIXProcess.java:178) at java.lang.ProcessImpl.start(ProcessImpl.java:114) at java.lang.ProcessBuilder.start(ProcessBuilder.java:466) at hudson.Proc$LocalProc.<init>(Proc.java:149) at hudson.Proc$LocalProc.<init>(Proc.java:121) at hudson.Launcher$LocalLauncher.launch(Launcher.java:633) at hudson.Launcher$ProcStarter.start(Launcher.java:268) at hudson.Launcher$RemoteLaunchCallable.call(Launcher.java:778) at hudson.Launcher$RemoteLaunchCallable.call(Launcher.java:754) at hudson.remoting.UserRequest.perform(UserRequest.java:114) at hudson.remoting.UserRequest.perform(UserRequest.java:48) at hudson.remoting.Request$2.run(Request.java:270) at java.util.concurrent.Executors$RunnableAdapter.call(Executors.java:432) at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask$Sync.innerRun(FutureTask.java:284) at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask.run(FutureTask.java:138) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.runTask(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:665) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:690) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:810) Finished: FAILURE I am wondering whether that plugin can be executed on a slave, especially in my case where the master is on Windows and the slave on AIX.

  • Hudson or Jenkins

    - by Lukas Eder
We have been using Hudson for quite a while and we loved it. Now many Hudson-developers have "left the building" to create their own: Jenkins (which means the project has been forked). As Hudson/Jenkins users, we are now worried whether we should opt for the original "big and stable" producer Oracle, or the "small and dynamic" newcomer Jenkins. EDIT: Our worries are mainly due to the fact that we did not really hear about this fork/split through any official ways. It looks like a guerilla action including the hijacking of logos and trademarks (after all, the copyright must be at Oracle, no? I'm not sure). So we're kinda missing professionalism here, as in well-organised course of action involving press relases, etc. Maybe we just missed that... What are good objective reasons to decide for either project in the future? Can we postpone that decision until later, or is that too risky? Here's one opinion about this: http://www.itworld.com/development/136173/more-concerns-surface-hudson-jenkins-split Why did you choose either one?

  • Version Control for Hudson Continuous Integration Build Jobs

    - by andrew
We have a continuous integration server with over 40 jobs that are constantly changing. I would like to version control continuous integration build jobs in Hudson so we can roll back changes if we have problems. Is there a Hudson plugin that will do this or other solution that already exists or should I keep the config.xml files in SVN.

  • Hudson interactive mode:- Is there one?

    - by Rupal Desai
I'm pretty new to hudson build system. I currently have my builds run from combination of perl/cgi scripts, with ability to start from a browser. What I need is an ability in hudson to checkout a file from perforce (can do that), parse that file (i can write a script for this) and based on the result of the parse give the user ability to choose various different options on what to build (compile). Is this possible? I'm not sure if I should tie together couple of different projects to do this or not? Any ideas on this could be achieved would be very helpful.

  • Use Hudson Build Parameter in Grails Build Target

    - by Stephen Swensen
I have created two Hudson String Parameters in my parametrized build configuration: svnRoot, and svnBranch. I can reference these just fine when specifying my Repository URL: ${svnRoot}/${svnBranch}/subProject. But I have not been able to reference them as part of my Grails Build Target: "build-applet ${svnRoot}/${svnBranch}/appletProject username password" "war --non-interactive". build-applet invokes a Gant script in the Grails project at scripts\BuildApplet.groovy. This attempt yields the following error: groovy.lang.MissingPropertyException: No such property: svnRoot for class: Script1 at org.codehaus.groovy.runtime.ScriptBytecodeAdapter.unwrap(ScriptBytecodeAdapter.java:49) at org.codehaus.groovy.runtime.callsite.PogoGetPropertySite.getProperty(PogoGetPropertySite.java:49) at org.codehaus.groovy.runtime.callsite.AbstractCallSite.callGroovyObjectGetProperty(AbstractCallSite.java:240) at Script1.run(Script1.groovy:1) at groovy.lang.GroovyShell.evaluate(GroovyShell.java:561) at groovy.lang.GroovyShell.evaluate(GroovyShell.java:536) at com.g2one.hudson.grails.GrailsBuilder.evalTarget(GrailsBuilder.java:212) at com.g2one.hudson.grails.GrailsBuilder.perform(GrailsBuilder.java:168) at hudson.tasks.BuildStepMonitor$1.perform(BuildStepMonitor.java:19) at hudson.model.AbstractBuild$AbstractRunner.perform(AbstractBuild.java:603) at hudson.model.Build$RunnerImpl.build(Build.java:172) at hudson.model.Build$RunnerImpl.doRun(Build.java:137) at hudson.model.AbstractBuild$AbstractRunner.run(AbstractBuild.java:417) at hudson.model.Run.run(Run.java:1337) at hudson.model.FreeStyleBuild.run(FreeStyleBuild.java:46) at hudson.model.ResourceController.execute(ResourceController.java:88) at hudson.model.Executor.run(Executor.java:140) What is the best and or easiest way to achieve my goal?

  • Configuring Jenkins for running with BitBucket

    - by Claus
I'm trying to setup Jenkins on my mac mini in order to pull my iOS project source code from BitBucket and build it automatically. I've already gone through the major well know problems generating the ssh keys, uploading them in BitBucket, performing an ssh connection by console for adding the host to the well know list (you can find all my adventure here and here). Now,there are 3 user in my system: A,B and Shared. When I installed Jenkins it automatically placed itself in Shared, but I generated the ssh keys with the user A. So just to be clear In the A home directory there is an .ssh directory with public and private keys. When I try to run by Jenkins job I get this error message: Started by user anonymous Building in workspace /Users/Shared/Jenkins/Home/jobs/myprojectAdHocBuild/workspace Checkout:workspace / /Users/Shared/Jenkins/Home/jobs/myprojectAdHocBuild/workspace - hudson.remoting.LocalChannel@625cb0bb Using strategy: Default Cloning the remote Git repository Cloning repository [email protected]:myuser/myproject.git git --version git version 1.8.0 ERROR: Error cloning remote repo 'origin' : Could not clone [email protected]:myuser/myproject.git hudson.plugins.git.GitException: Could not clone [email protected]:myuser/myproject.git at hudson.plugins.git.GitAPI.clone(GitAPI.java:271) at hudson.plugins.git.GitSCM$2.invoke(GitSCM.java:1036) at hudson.plugins.git.GitSCM$2.invoke(GitSCM.java:978) at hudson.FilePath.act(FilePath.java:851) at hudson.FilePath.act(FilePath.java:824) at hudson.plugins.git.GitSCM.determineRevisionToBuild(GitSCM.java:978) at hudson.plugins.git.GitSCM.checkout(GitSCM.java:1134) at hudson.model.AbstractProject.checkout(AbstractProject.java:1325) at hudson.model.AbstractBuild$AbstractBuildExecution.defaultCheckout(AbstractBuild.java:676) at jenkins.scm.SCMCheckoutStrategy.checkout(SCMCheckoutStrategy.java:88) at hudson.model.AbstractBuild$AbstractBuildExecution.run(AbstractBuild.java:581) at hudson.model.Run.execute(Run.java:1516) at hudson.model.FreeStyleBuild.run(FreeStyleBuild.java:46) at hudson.model.ResourceController.execute(ResourceController.java:88) at hudson.model.Executor.run(Executor.java:236) Caused by: hudson.plugins.git.GitException: Command "/usr/local/git/bin/git clone --progress -o origin [email protected]:myuser/myproject.git /Users/Shared/Jenkins/Home/jobs/myprojectAdHocBuild/workspace" returned status code 128: stdout: Cloning into '/Users/Shared/Jenkins/Home/jobs/myprojectAdHocBuild/workspace'... stderr: Host key verification failed. fatal: Could not read from remote repository. Ss 4:06pm 17:55.91 /usr/bin/java -jar /Applications/Jenkins/jenkins.war myuser 11930 0.0 0.0 2432768 588 s000 S+ 10:28am 0:00.00 grep /jenkins MacMini:~ myuser$ ps axu | grep tomcat myuser 11932 0.0 0.0 2432768 588 s000 S+ 10:28am 0:00.00 grep tomcat MacMini:~ myuser$ I really hope to fix this problem, because I would like to write a very detailed tutorial with all the information I found disseminated around the web.
