Let's say i use my web user control like this: <myprefix:mytag userid="4" runat="server">Some fancy text</myprefix:mytag> How would i be able to access the text inside the tags from its codebehind? Was expecting it to be exposed through this.Text, this.Value or something similar.

  • How do I measure the size of a TextBlock in WPF before it is rendered?

    I have a WPF DataTemplate with two TextBlock controls (stacked) and then some other elements underneath. Due to some complicated layout code, I need to know the height of the two TextBlock elements so that I can draw some fancy connector lines, and line up other controls, etc. If I know the text that's going into the TextBlocks, and I know the font, etc., is there some way I can compute or measure the height of these TextBlocks without actually rendering them?

    I’m currently working on this theme : http://tf.ffffffive.com/fancy/ I just need a few pointers on how to get it working in IE6 and IE7 . -The positioning is a bit off. -If you guys have a helpful blog post of maybe give me a hand with some CSS coding I would really appreciate it.   • Is there a way to flush html to the wire in Sinatra

    I have a Sinatra app with a long running process (a web scraper). I'd like the app flush the results of the crawler's progress as the crawler is running instead of at the end. I've considered forking the request and doing something fancy with ajax but this is a really basic one-pager app that really just needs to output a log to a browser as it's happening.     How do I parameterize a query containing an IN clause with a variable number of arguments, like this one? select * from Tags where Name in ('ruby','rails','scruffy','rubyonrails') order by Count desc In this query, the number of arguments could be anywhere from 1 to 5. I would prefer not to use a dedicated stored procedure for this (or XML), but if there is some fancy SQL Server 2008 specific way of doing it elegantly, I am open to that.

    The Core Data Programming Guide talks a lot about what not to overwrite. So the question is: What is good to overwrite? Like I see it, I can't overwrite -init or -initWithEntity:insertIntoManagedObjectContext: So where else would be a good overwrite point to set up some basic stuff? Or is it generally not needed to do custom initialization? Does the whole thing rely only on accessing properties which then start to do fancy things? So no custom initializations?

  • Why is my input textbox extending outside margins in BlackBerry and Android, but not iOS?

    I have an input field that is extending well beyond the rest of the page, but as the question alludes to, it appears fine in iOS. I am wondering if anyone has run into this issue. My search button, which in iOS is on the right of the search textbox, actually wraps to the next "line" on the other two platforms. I am not using a table, just inside a div, and the CSS isn't doing anything fancy. Any ideas?
