  • Browser is showing PHP code instead of processing it

    I have installed XAMPP on my computer which is Windows 8 pro. I use to work with Windows 7 every time I run the index.php file on Windows 8 it shows the code on the browser IE10. Here is what I have done: I have named the file correctly: index.php I have installed the server and saved the files inside c:/xampp/htdocs/PHP/ I have used to open and close all PHP tags and everything else seems working fine, like, PHPMyAdmin, and the Ini file I don't know whats wrong and it is driving me crazy ...   • Unable to install Xdebug

    I've registered xdebug in php.ini (as per http://xdebug.org/docs/install) but it's not showing up when i run "php -m" or when i get a test page to run "phpinfo()". I've just installed the latest version of XAMPP. Can anyone provide any suggestions in getting xdebug to show up? I restarted both servers. Later restarted PC. Tried again but its same behavior. So whats wrong with this tiny little code ? Am I missing something which might be causing infinite loop ? Thanks

  • Making python run on my webserver

    Hi all, im getting a bit stuck regarding options for running python scripts on my server. From the research ive done so far, i can see i need to modify apache slightly to run python scripts, by using either mod_wsgi or mod_python. Two issues i have: mod_python doesnt appear to be maintained anymore (last release, 2007) mod_wsgi appears to require modification of my httpd.conf file on a per application basis. What im wanting to know, is there a way of getting python scripts to run in the same way as php, i.e. just by going to index.py etc... or is it more involved than that? At present im just trying to set it up on my xampp install. Any help would be appreciated.

    We have an application running with CodeIgniter and MySQL in cestacerta.com. Ther are two versions: One that is in production and it works perfectly, and one that is our Development version. This runs locally on my machine and the other developers. The development version needs to remotely connect to the database, and it rather suddenly stopped working. I've given permission to access any IP settings on the server. I can access the database through the MySQL Gui Tools. I have tested access to several different codes, including a newly downloaded version of CodeIgniter and always got the same error: "A Database Error Occurred Unable to connect to your database server using the provided settings. Filename: C: \ xampp \ htdocs \ cestacerta \ system \ database \ DB_driver.php Line Number: 119 " What troubleshooting steps can I take determine if the error is on our workstations (which all have the same error) or on our server.

    I have a web server (xampp) in a particular PC running on my LAN, and I added the following line in the 'hosts' file : 127.0.0.1 mysite. Then, in another PC connected to the LAN, I'm trying to acces the previous web server by typing 'http://mysite/index.php' on the web browser, with no luck. But if I type the IP from the server computer (http://192.168.2.87/index.php) I am able to access the web site. So, what should i configure so when i type 'http://mysite/index.php' I get the same result as http:// 192.168.2.87/index.php ?? Thanx!

    Ok, I have added lines like: 127.0.0.1 somedomain.com Or some other domain that points to my routers IP, and is forwarded, but I get to the main site, but I want it to go to the subfolder I defined in my httpd-vhosts.conf: NameVirtualHost somedomain.com:80 <VirtualHost somedomain.com:80> DocumentRoot "D:/Apps/xampp/htdocs/somedomain" ServerName somedomain.com ServerAlias somedomain.com </VirtualHost> So, locally somedomain.com works, just remotely it goes to the root htdocs. So If I use a *:80 wildcard I works, but then everything points to the subfolder and all the other vhosts seem to get ignored. Any Idea why this is?

    Hi I am using XAMPP on Windows XP. Since I changed the version from 1.73 to 1.77 MySQL does not start properly.   • Cant connect to home server

    Trying to figure out what I might be doing wrong. I installed XAMPP - and everything looks fine. If I go to localhost everything comes right up. But when I go to my IP address, I just get a message that the browser could not connect to it. I go into my router and set up port forwarding for port 80 etc, and I even tried putting the server as a DMZ - still nothing. I turned the firewall off to see if that was interfering in some way, then uninstalled it completely for good measure, made no difference. I'm out of ideas.. oh, and yes I have a static IP address.

  • My PHP code is commented out

    Before everything happened, I was running this wordpress install for developing themes using xampp. But I decided to upgrade the memory of this machine from 2GB to 6GB since I need extra room for applications. I back-up my code in a separate partition by copying them. Since I have a 32bit OS at the time, I format the computer and installed a 64bit version. All is well and fine the OS side. When I setup my web dev environment something goes wrong. When I imported my htdocs back, first by just fully copying them to a new fresh install of xampp and notice that all of the codes that put are not working. My CI code is displaying my PHP code in the browser. My theme in wordpress is also commenting out my PHP code when I view the source. The themes included in my fresh wordpress install works so there's something I am missing here. From the looks of it, the php is being executed properly since anything that I install works. Just that the ones that came from a previous xampp is not.

  • Problems with zend-tool reporting that providers are not valid

    I have recently setup XAMPP 1.7.3 and ZendFramework 1.10.4 on a new computer and many of the commands that I normally use now fail. Here are the steps I used to setup and test ZF. First I added the ZF library folder (C:\xampp\php\ZendFramework-1.10.4\library) to the include path in php.ini. Then I added the ZF bin folder (C:\xampp\php\ZendFramework-1.10.4\bin) to my Path system variable. To test that everything is configured correctly I ran the command "zf show version" from the command line. The result is "Zend Framework Version: 1.9.6". Immediately something appears to be wrong. The file that is downloaded is "ZendFramework-1.10.4.zip" and the reported version is 1.9.6. I have re-downloaded the latest version (1.10.4) and removed old copy. Still the incorrect version number problem persisted. Having done some research there is a bug in the ZF knowledgebase that version 1.10.3 reports a wrong version number. So that may explain the version number problem. Moving forward I tried to run some zf-tool commands and certain commands reports that the action or provider is not valid.   • Setting up a localhost mail server on Mac OSX

    I asked this over on stackoverflow. They pointed me here. I would love to be able to test php webapps that require emailing registration info etc. on my mac. I downloaded a version of CommuniGate Pro. I need to mail either to an account inside or outside (whichever is best) of the localhost. Again this would be used for testing purposes to verify and debug my code prior to uploading to a hosting service. Any ideas, help and/or examples would be very much appreciated. If it would be easier I could go over to Windows XP. That would just mean setting up wamp and transfering my files over from the mac side via dropbox. I got the local mailserver to work so I can send emails between accounts. However, I cannot seem to get the php code to work. I know that I am missing something. I see where this has been asked before. I want to add that I am using xampp. In Mac OS 10.6.8.     After 2 days of tough fight trying to figure out what the problem is with my Windows 7 32-bit machine at work i have nearly given up. The issue is that the pages are loaded extremely slow, the performance is both when accessed locally (127.0.0.1) or from another computer in the intranet. First to explain the system: WAMP version: Apache 2.2.22 – Mysql 5.5.24 – PHP 5.4.3 XDebug 2.1.2 XDC 1.5 PhpMyadmin 3.4.10.1 SQLBuddy 1.3.3 webGrind 1.0 DocumentRoot: Located on network drive MySQL: InnoDB Pages: PHP, MySQL, AJAX etc. So basically the changes i have made in order to get a greater performance: Changed C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts: 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1 Modified my.ini: innodb_flush_log_at_trx_commit = 2 Modified httpd.ini: EnableMMAP on EnableSendfile on Modified php.ini: realpath_cache_size= 4m How i measure the performance is the overall loadtime of the page. I run it locally on my Mac OS X machine aswell (MAMP), and typically the frontpage loadtime is 0.06seconds but on the Windows 7 machine it is 6-10seconds. I have verified the loadtime with developertools in Chrome aswell. Furthermore the result is identical in XAMPP.

    i have installed xampp control panel and Apache 2.2 on windows XP when i type http://localhost/ gives me page which says It Works! now i want to change the port number 80 to some other number how to change it ? in how many files does it needs to be changed ? dose it require to restart the system to change to take effect ? note: i have changed port number in C:\xampp\apache\conf\httpd.conf in two places where it says Listen 80 and ServerName localhost:80 Pls help, thanks.

    In my PHP code I have this: $filename = 'data.xml'; $xml = file_get_contents($filename); $data = simplexml_load_string($xml); $variable = ""; foreach ($data->file_info as $record) { $id1 = $record['id1']; $id2 = $record['id2']; } And it works perfectly fine on the web server, but when trying to view it locally (using xampp) I get the following output at the top of my pgae: file_info as $record) { $id1 = $record['id1']; $id2 = $record['id2']; } (followed by another 100 or so lines of PHP) Not sure if it would make a difference, the web server it works on is running linux, and I am trying to view it on windows using xampp)

  • jQuery works on local host, but not on website

    Using Notepad++ and XAMPP to test stuff, then I upload it to the website over FTP. In the head of my code, I have this to call jQuery and the script: <script type="text/javascript" src="/jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/portfolio.js"></script> and it works fine locally on my XAMPP server. But as soon as it's uploaded onto the host, it throws this error: Resource interpreted as script but transferred with MIME type text/html. Not sure what's going on, or why it's having a hard time using jQuery. Any ideas?

    Since this morning, phpmyadmin is giving me the error message #2002 the server doesn't answer (or the connection to local Mysql is not well configured) and a message about control-use. I'm disappointed it used to work until 2am last night and now the MySQL engine doesn't want to start (told me sometimes about sockets ..)     I'd like to get started with Pylons, to be used on a Windows machine as a local web server. Is there any equivalent of e.g. XAMPP for Pylons that would set up everything with one installer? Edit: I've just discovered the Pylons web server. Could I use this to serve pages to computers on a LAN?
