  I am trying to get an alert from monit if it fails to restart a service 5 times, but I get a syntax error /etc/monit/monit.d/engine.conf:5: Error: syntax error 'alert' this is the engine.conf file: check process engine with pidfile /var/run/engine.pid group engine start program = "/etc/init.d/engine start" stop program = "/etc/init.d/engine stop" if 5 restarts within 5 cycles then alert any idea what's wrong with it?

• Supervisord: how to append to $PATH

  I can't seem to figure out how to append to the default path in a supervisord program config. I can reset the path: environment=PATH="/home/site/environments/master/bin" But when I try: environment=PATH="/home/site/environments/master/bin:$PATH" I see that supervisord doesn't evaluate $PATH. Google wasn't a big help on this for some reason, I cannot believe I'm the first person to need this. Supervisord must have support for this, any idea what it is?

  hi, I am building a PC to act as a file server among other things, and I was wondering whether it is a good idea to create 2 partitions on the RAID 5 array, one for OS one for data, or to have a separate disk for OS and use array for data. Also, one day i may want to add another disk to the array, so would there be any issues if I had the OS partition on the RAID5 array when it came to resizing the data partition?

• browser blocking image download when nginx was placed infront of apache to serve static content

This set up was performing better than just having apache. but suddenly some change caused images getting blocked for like 2-3sec before actually downloading with apache+nginx setup.   If I load and play a long (2 hr) DIVX movie in the browser using the mplayer-mozilla plugin, the player stops playing after a period of time and resets itself, losing the loaded video buffer, so that the movie needs to be re-downloaded. • McAfee Security Scan appears out of thin air

  Hi, We have a Windows Server 2008 Standard edition server and when we logged in today a service, McAfee Security Scan, had been installed. I checked all the logs, but can't find any trace of who or how this install was initiated. We already use Nod32 so there would be no reason for us to install McAfee. Any idea how this happens? • Can't transfer images from a camera connected to usb2 port on a pcmcia adapter

  I have an old laptop (HP OmniBook vt6200, WinXp pro, sp2) that only has usb1 ports. Transferring pictures from a digital camera is too slow, so I thought of trying one of those pccards carrying usb2 ports (D-Link Dub C2 in my case). Connecting the camera to one of the ports on the pccard, Picasa seems to freeze trying to read the camera contents, until I either disconnect the camera or the pccard. Any idea on what's wrong?

  Running Visual Studio 2003 on Windows Server 2003 (not configured as a terminal server), most of the time that I try to use the debugger, I completely lose control of the session. I am trying to upgrade from windows xp sp3 (Media Centre edition) Steps I've followed: Clean install from XP SP3 Professional disc Installed all drivers downloaded upgrade advisor and ran where it just closed after like 2 seconds without even showing the screen changed to have a selected startup after finding guidance on the internet, this still did not make a difference Does anybody have an idea? I've looked for logs but can't find anything.
