• Cannot copy non-latin characters from PDF document

  Hi, I have a pdf file which contains some non-latin european characters. If I copy some text with the highlight tool, and paste it into another program (word, notepad) - the 'special' characters do not transfer correctly (I get other odd characters in their place). I have tried copying the text from both Acrobat Reader and Foxit. Is there anything I can do here to copy this? Thanks

• Extra Volumes appearing after using MyDefrag

  Hi, After using MyDefrag, when I start the defrag again, two new drives have appeared - with very odd names. They are both named the same thing: \\?\Volume{WhatLooksLikeAGUID} Note the Guid (and hence the drive names) are both the same - any idea whats going on here? Thanks. OS: Windows XP Pro SP2.

• Can you suggest some DIY PC specs for 1) Value, and 2) Future 'upgradability'?

  Hi, I'm considering building a new desktop PC from components. For the last 7/8 or so years I have almost exlusively used laptops, and so have fallen behind a bit with knowledge of various hardware technologies. Anyway, now I'm considering building a new desktop machine. Mainly for development work, but also would be nice to do a bit of gaming. The two main criteria are: I would like the first build to be relatively low cost. I would like to select components that will allow me to upgrade in the future without throwing too much away. Can anyone recommend a setup? Thanks

• Windows XP: Slow start menu 'All Programs' response

  When I click start, and then 'All Programs' (or select a sub menu of all programs) I get a grey menu which does not respond for about 5 seconds - after this it is ok. Any idea what is causing the menu to behave sluggishly? What can be done to fix this? Thanks Info Requested System Specs : Core2 T5500 @1.66GHz, 2GB Ram Windows version: XP Professional SP2 Happens Every time I click the menu (not just first time), has gradually been getting worse.
