• Trying to find a good filehost [closed]

  I'm looking for a good filehost that I can use to link downloads on my blog (personally created files, no copyright infringement). Been looking at mediafire, but I'm not sure what else is out there that would meet my needs. Ideally wanting something that has no files-per-day-per-user limits, can host individual files of at least 500MB each, and has very little hassle for the users who download from them. I'll pay for a 'premium' or whatever level account if necessary. Any good suggestions? Or will mediafire be my best bet for this?

• How to find out where my memory is going

  I've got the situation where the cycle of loading and then closing a document eats up a few Mb of RAM. This memory isn't being leaked as something owns it and cleans it up when the app exits (Visual Leak Detector and the Mac Leaks tool show agreement on this). However, I'd like to find out where it's going. I'm assuming it's some sort of cache in the application that gets populated when the document loads but not freed when the document is closed. Which methods or tools could I use to find out where these allocations are being made?

• Excel: Find a specific cell and paste the value from a control cell into it

  I have two columns one containing the room number, e.g. B-CL102, the other containing a varying integer. I want to enter a different, manually determined, integer in a third column. Whether by macro or native Excel, is there a way to use two control cells at the top of the sheet, type the room number into one and the different integer matching that room into another. I have minimal experience with macros essentially just the basics. I tried to use a V-Lookup formula to look at the two control cells (Range) and then fill in the new column, however I don't know how to then fix that value so that it doesn't change when I change the values in the control cells.

Like so: class User has_many :projects has_and_belongs_to_many :project_categories class Project belongs_to :user has_and_belongs_to_many :project_categories class ProjectCategory has_and_belongs_to_many :projects has_and_belongs_to_many :users Now, I'd like to do a find for projects with any of the catogories that a certain user are interested in, i.e. if a user is interested in project categories A,B,C then I'd like to find projects which are part of one or more of those project categories. • Find copies of folders? (Not files)

  I have a dozen of folders that are duplicates. Within them are a few dozen folders that are duplicates so i have a few thousand copies of the same files and folders. Many of them are exactly the same while others have changes in a few files. What utility can i use to delete folders that are copies of others with no changes? if one or more files in that folder have been changed i dont want it deleted (and i'd like the subfolders to have a shortcuts to a copy but thats not required). Is there a utility to do this?

• How to find domain registrar and DNS hosting with good DNSSEC support?

  Simplified problem I want to buy a domain and make a website that is fully secured with DNSSEC. Background I've been hearing about the insecurity of DNS for years. I've watched all of the talks by Dan Kaminsky and others from DNS exploits to The future of DNS Security Panel. I knew that using DNS without security is a disaster waiting to happen. I followed the development of the DNSSEC standard. I celebrated the key signing ceremony. Everything was on the right track to finally have a secure DNS system in place. And now more than 2 years later I wanted to just do what everyone said I should do: use DNSSEC for a new domain. So I need a domain registrar and a DNS hosting service that supports DNSSEC. Surprisingly it is not that easy to even find out who does support DNSSEC. It was actually much easier to find info on DNSSEC two years ago when everyone was going to support DNSSEC Real Soon Now but now years passed and I hardly see any progress done. I just hope that I was just looking in the wrong places and someone here will explain all of the doubts. I hope that other people who want to have a secure website will also find this question useful. What is needed registrar and DNS servers with full DNSSEC support for .com domains What is not needed IPv6 support Web hosting anything more What I found out so far Go Daddy offers Premium DNS service for additional $36 per year that lets you "Secure up to 5 domains with DNSSEC". easyDNS has DNSSEC available in Beta across all service levels (you need to enable the "beta" flag in configuration) but it doesn't seem to be production ready and judging from the lack of updates it isn't a feature of highest priority (the last update from March 2011 on the easyDNS blog). Name.com - according to The Register (US domain registrar does IPv6, DNSSEC) it has DNSSEC support since 2010 but right now (October 2012) I couldn't find anything related to DNSSEC on their website. Dynadot that is very often recommended doesn't support DNSSEC Namecheap that is also often recommended doesn't support DNSSEC. The support answer from 2011 suggested that it was being added but in 2012 still no ETA is given to customers. DynDNS was supposed to support DNSSEC, I found a link explaining DNSSEC support but it gives 404 Not Found page and offers a search box - when searching for DNSSEC I get "No results were found for your query." GKG was recommended online for DNSSEC support but it's hard to find any information on the level of DNSSEC support - there is a brief explanation on what is DNSSEC and how to sign Delegation Signer records in their FAQ but no information about the level of actual support can be found. Ask Slashdot: Which Registrars Support DNSSEC? from July 2011 - Answers list Go Daddy, DynDNS, GKG, Name.com as registrars that support DNSSEC but: see above. Related questions How to find web hosting that meets my requirements? What is needed to add DNSSEC to my site? DNS hosting better managed by Domain provider or Hosting provider? Registrar with good security, DNS hosting, and DNSSEC and IPv6 resolvers? In no. 1 no one is ever mentioning DNS at all. In no. 2 answers only mention the .se TLD, there are very few answers and they seem very outdated. In no. 3 one answer says "On projects that demand higher security, I might look for a web host that supports DNSSEC" but no more information is provided. The only relevant answers are in no. 4 where easyDNS is recommended by someone who has never used them personally. Meanwhile, as of October 2012, the support of DNSSEC is described as "in beta" on the easyDNS feature list. Another one recommends SiteGround but searching their site for DNSSEC returns no results. Other answers recommend web hosting providers that don't meet the requirement of DNSSEC support. Also the question mentioned above lists 9 very specific requirements other than only DNSSEC (like eg. HTTP-only login cookies, two-factor authentications, no DNS record limits, DNS statistics of queries/day, audit trails etc.) which might have excluded many possible recommendations if one is only interested in DNSSEC support. Conclusions I thought that by the end of 2012 the support of DNSSEC among domain registrars and DNS providers would be nearly universal. I am shocked that the support seems virtually nonexistent. Is this a result of some serious problems with the DNSSEC adoption? Or is it just not a hot topic and no one bothers anymore? According to the DNSSEC Scoreboard roughly about 0.1% of .com domains support DNSSEC. Could that be caused by the lack of DNSSEC support among registrars and DNS providers, is the information too hard to find or maybe no one cares? There is even no "dnssec" tag here. Questions The information is surprisingly hard to find. That is why I am asking for first-hand experience and personal recommendations. Has anyone here actually set up a website with DNSSEC, from the domain registration to the configuration of DNS servers? Can anyone recommend any of the registrars mentioned above? Can anyone recommend any registrar not mentioned above?

For example, I can run the sort command and the selected text is replaced appropriately. This is quite useful but I am also not very well-versed in awk and the like.   It seems that when trying to install any package which requires the creation of a system User and Group, the installer fails with the error: install: invalid user 'username' When it happened the first time, I assumed it was related to the package, or it's installation script. But now I am attempting a different package, and alas, the same issue arises! note: /etc/passwd and /etc/group is not chattr -i Here is the example output from an attempted installation (of varnish): Selecting previously unselected package varnish.   Considering the code below: Dataview someView = new DataView(sometable) someView.RowFilter = someFilter; if(someView.count > 0) { …. } Quite a number of articles which say Datatable.Select() is better than using DataViews, but these are prior to VS2008. Solved: The Mystery of DataView's Poor Performance with Large Recordsets Array of DataRecord vs. DataView: A Dramatic Difference in Performance Googling on this topic I found some articles/forum topics which mention Datatable.Select() itself is quite buggy(not sure on this) and underperforms in various scenarios. On this(Best Practices ADO.NET) topic on msdn it is suggested that if there is primary key defined on a datatable the findrows() or find() methods should be used insted of Datatable.Select(). This article here (.NET 1.1) benchmarks all the three approaches plus a couple more. But this is for version 1.1 so not sure if these are valid still now. Accroding to this DataRowCollection.Find() outperforms all approaches and Datatable.Select() outperforms DataView.RowFilter. So I am quite confused on what might be the best approach on finding rows in a datatable. Or there is no single good way to do this, multiple solutions exist depending upon the scenario?

• LINQ-to-SQL: Could not find key member 'x' of key 'x' on type 'y'

  I am trying to connect my application to a SQLite database with LINQ-to-SQL, and so far everything has worked fine. The only hitch was that the SQLite provider I am using does not support code generation (unless I was doing something wrong), so I manually coded the 4 tables in the DB. The solution builds properly, but will not run, giving me the error message Could not find key member 'ItemType_Id' of key 'ItemType_Id' on type 'Item'. The key may be wrong or the field or property on 'Item' has changed names. I have checked and double checked spellings and field names on the database and in the attribute mappings, but could not find any problems. • Attempting to find a formula for tessellating rectangles onto a board, where middle square can't be

  I'm working on a spatial stacking problem... at the moment I'm trying to solve in 2D but will eventually have to make this work in 3D. I divide up space into n x n squares around a central block, therefore n is always odd... and I'm trying to find the number of locations that a rectangle of any dimension less than n x n (eg 1x1, 1x2, 2x2 etc) can be placed, where the middle square is not available. So far I've got this.. total number of rectangles = ((n^2 + n)^2 ) / 4 ..also the total number of squares = (n (n+1) (2n+1)) / 6 However I'm stuck in working out a formula to find how many of those locations are impossible as the middle square would be occupied. So for example: [] [] [] [] [x] [] [] [] [] 3 x 3 board... with 8 possible locations for storing stuff as mid square is in use. I can use 1x1 shapes, 1x2 shapes, 2x1, 3x1, etc... Formula gives me the number of rectangles as: (9+3)^2 / 4 = 144/4 = 36 stacking locations However as the middle square is unoccupiable these can not all be realized. By hand I can see that these are impossible options: 1x1 shapes = 1 impossible (mid square) 2x1 shapes = 4 impossible (anything which uses mid square) 3x1 = 2 impossible 2x2 = 4 impossible etc Total impossible combinations = 16 Therefore the solution I'm after is 36-16 = 20 possible rectangular stacking locations on a 3x3 board. I've coded this in C# to solve it through trial and error, but I'm really after a formula as I want to solve for massive values of n, and also to eventually make this 3D. Can anyone point me to any formulas for these kind of spatial / tessellation problem? Also any idea on how to take the total rectangle formula into 3D very welcome! Thanks!

  I have some code in an XML file that I load and compile at runtime in an application. This works fine on Windows, but under Mono I get assembly reference errors. The specific errors I get in the compiler results are: cannot find metadata file 'system.dll' at line 0 column 0. cannot find metadata file 'system.xml.dll' at line 0 column 0. Mono obviously doesn't like the way I add referenced assemblies to the code I'm compiling for system.xml and system.xml.dll. The other two assemblies add fine, which is no surprise because they're the code that the compiler is actually executing from and exist in the executable directory. Any clue what I need to do to fix this? Maybe I could just drop those DLLs in the executable directory, but that feels like a dumb idea.

  I have a problem getting Mercurial to recognise my editor. I have a file, c:\windows\notepad.exe and typing "notepad" at the command prompt works. I can commit by using the "-m" argument to supply the commit title. But a simple "hg commit" brings up the error.   Hi folks, I am not a ColdFusion coder. Doing a favor for a friend who ported his CF site from a Windows server to Unix on GoDaddy. Site is displaying error: Cannot find CFML template for custom tag jstk. ColdFusion attempted looking in the tree of installed custom tags but did not find a custom tag with this name. The site as I found it has at document root /CustomTags with the jstk.cfm file and a set of files in cf_jstk My Googling located this You must store custom tag pages in any one of the following: The same directory as the calling page; The cfusion\CustomTags directory; A subdirectory of the cfusion\CustomTags directory; A directory that you specify in the ColdFusion Administrator So I have Tried creating placing /CustomTags in /cfusion/CustomTags Tried copying /cfusion/CustomTags to above document root Tried copying jstk.cfm and subfolders into same directory as calling file(index.cfm). Update: Per GoDaddy support I have also tried adding the following to no effect: Can any one give me some tips on this or should I just tell my guy to look for a CF coder? Thanks! JG
