  • Convert CString to string (VC6)

    - by Yan Cheng CHEOK
    I want to convert CString to string. (Yup. I know what am I doing. I know the returned string will be incorrect, if CString value range is outside ANSI, but That's Is OK!) The following code will work under VC2008. std::string Utils::CString2String(const CString& cString) { // Convert a TCHAR string to a LPCSTR CT2CA pszConvertedAnsiString (cString); // construct a std::string using the LPCSTR input std::string strStd (pszConvertedAnsiString); return strStd; } But VC6 doesn't have CT2CA macro. How I can make the code to work as well in both VC6 and VC2008?

  • Parser line break if string contains &#8211;

    - by pask
    Hi all, My NSXMLParser breaks on this string: <title>AAA &#8211; BCDEFGQWERTYUIO</title> I parsed it in this way, hope is the right way: - (void) parser: (NSXMLParser *) parser foundCharacters: (NSString *) string{ [...] if ([currentElement isEqualToString:@"title"]) { if (![string isEqualToString:@""]) { [title addObject:string]; NSLog(@"str: %@", string); } } it returns me: str: AAA str: - str: BCDEFGQWERTYUIO But i want to return a single string: str: AAA - BCDEFGQWERTYUIO because it's the correct title. Any idea? Thanks.

  • String or binary data would be truncated.

    - by Derek Dieter
    This error message is relatively straight forward. The way it normally happens is when you are trying to insert data from a table that contains values that have larger data lengths than the table you are trying to insert into. An example of this would be trying to insert data from a permanent table, into [...]

  • How to test method call order with Moq

    - by Finglas
    At the moment I have: [Test] public void DrawDrawsAllScreensInTheReverseOrderOfTheStack() { // Arrange. var screenMockOne = new Mock<IScreen>(); var screenMockTwo = new Mock<IScreen>(); var screens = new List<IScreen>(); screens.Add(screenMockOne.Object); screens.Add(screenMockTwo.Object); var stackOfScreensMock = new Mock<IScreenStack>(); stackOfScreensMock.Setup(s => s.ToArray()).Returns(screens.ToArray()); var screenManager = new ScreenManager(stackOfScreensMock.Object); // Act. screenManager.Draw(new Mock<GameTime>().Object); // Assert. screenMockOne.Verify(smo => smo.Draw(It.IsAny<GameTime>()), Times.Once(), "Draw was not called on screen mock one"); screenMockTwo.Verify(smo => smo.Draw(It.IsAny<GameTime>()), Times.Once(), "Draw was not called on screen mock two"); } But the order in which I draw my objects in the production code does not matter. I could do one first, or two it doesn't matter. However it should matter as the draw order is important. How do you (using Moq) ensure methods are called in a certain order? Edit I got rid of that test. The draw method has been removed from my unit tests. I'll just have to manually test it works. The reversing of the order though was taken into a seperate test class where it was tested so it's not all bad. Thanks for the link about the feature they are looking into. I sure hope it gets added soon, very handy.

  • G++ Compiling errors

    - by egn56
    Attempting to do some compiling with g++ and when I run g++ test.cpp this is what I get. I am in the correct directory and I have even messed with the permission settings to make those directories chmod 777 as a test, still nothing. Tried running it as sudo g++ test.cpp and getting nothing. It can compile and create a .o if i run g++ -c test.cpp but it can't seem to link it and create the .out. Any suggestions? /usr/bin/ld: 1: /usr/bin/ld: /bin: Permission denied /usr/bin/ld: 2: /usr/bin/ld: test.cpp: not found /usr/bin/ld: 3: /usr/bin/ld: test.cpp: not found /usr/bin/ld: 4: /usr/bin/ld: test.cpp: not found /usr/bin/ld: 5: /usr/bin/ld: test.cpp: not found /usr/bin/ld: 6: /usr/bin/ld: test.cpp: not found /usr/bin/ld: 7: /usr/bin/ld: test.cpp: not found /usr/bin/ld: 8: /usr/bin/ld: test.cpp: not found /usr/bin/ld: 9: /usr/bin/ld: test.cpp: not found /usr/bin/ld: 10: /usr/bin/ld: test.cpp: not found /usr/bin/ld: 11: /usr/bin/ld: test.cpp: not found /usr/bin/ld: 12: /usr/bin/ld: Syntax error: "(" unexpected collect2: ld returned 2 exit status

  • Convert byte array to understandable String

    - by Ender
    I have a program that handles byte arrays in Java, and now I would like to write this into a XML file. However, I am unsure as to how I can convert the following byte array into a sensible String to write to a file. Assuming that it was Unicode characters I attempted the following code: String temp = new String(encodedBytes, "UTF-8"); Only to have the debugger show that the encodedBytes contain "\ufffd\ufffd ^\ufffd\ufffd-m\ufffd\ufffd\/ufffd \ufffd\ufffdIA\ufffd\ufffd". The String should contain a hash in alphanumerical format. How would I turn the above String into a sensible String for output?

  • Where can I find project repositories with continuous testing?

    - by Jenny Smith
    I am interested in studying some test logs from different projects, in order to build and test an application for school. I need to analyze the parts of the code which are tested, the bugs which appeared in those parts and eventually how they were resolved. But for this I need some repositories from different (open source) projects. Can someone please help me with ideas or links or any kind of test logs which might be useful? I really need some resources, so any help is appreciated.

  • Replace whitespaces using PHP preg_replace function ignoring quoted strings

    - by Saiful
    Look at the following string: SELECT column1 , column2, column3 FROM table1 WHERE column1 = 'text, "FROM" \'from\\\' x' AND column2 = "sample text 'where' \"where\\\" " AND ( column3 = 5 ) I need to escape unnecessary white space characters from the string like: removing white space from beginning and ending position of , ( ) etc removing newline (\r\n) and tabs (\t) But one thing. The remove process could not remove white spaces from the quoted string like: 'text, "FROM" \'from\\' x' "sample text 'where' \"where\\" " etc. i need to use the PHP function: preg_replace($pattern, $replacement, $string); So what will be the value of $pattern and $replacement where the value of $string is the given SQL.

  • How do I write an RSpec test to unit-test this interesting metaprogramming code?

    - by Kyle Kaitan
    Here's some simple code that, for each argument specified, will add specific get/set methods named after that argument. If you write attr_option :foo, :bar, then you will see #foo/foo= and #bar/bar= instance methods on Config: module Configurator class Config def initialize() @options = {} end def self.attr_option(*args) args.each do |a| if not self.method_defined?(a) define_method "#{a}" do @options[:"#{a}"] ||= {} end define_method "#{a}=" do |v| @options[:"#{a}"] = v end else throw Exception.new("already have attr_option for #{a}") end end end end end So far, so good. I want to write some RSpec tests to verify this code is actually doing what it's supposed to. But there's a problem! If I invoke attr_option :foo in one of the test methods, that method is now forever defined in Config. So a subsequent test will fail when it shouldn't, because foo is already defined: it "should support a specified option" do c = Configurator::Config c.attr_option :foo # ... end it "should support multiple options" do c = Configurator::Config c.attr_option :foo, :bar, :baz # Error! :foo already defined # by a previous test. # ... end Is there a way I can give each test an anonymous "clone" of the Config class which is independent of the others?

  • doing a full permutation search and replace on a string

    - by user73307
    I'm writing an app that does something like a custom number (licence) place generator tool where if I ask for the plate "robin" it will suggest I try: r0bin rob1n r0b1n Are there any published algorithms which can do this? It has to be able to handle replacing single letters with multiples, e.g. m with rn and vise-versa and not fall over if it replaces an i with an l then comes to check the l and replaces it back to an i. The list of what gets swapped with what is going to be user input but I'm not expecting a huge list, possibly 10 pairs at most. I'll be implementing this in Ruby or Python but I should be able to convert code from any other language.

  • Longest substring that appears n times

    - by xcoders
    For a string of length L, I want to find the longest substring that appears n (n<L) or more times in ths string. For example, the longest substring that occurs 2 or more times in "BANANA" is "ANA", once starting from index 1, and once again starting from index 3. The substrings are allowed to overlap. In the string "FFFFFF", the longest string that appears 3 or more times is "FFFF". The brute force algorithm for n=2 would be selecting all pairs of indexes in the string, then running along until the characters are different. The running-along part takes O(L) and the number of pairs is O(L^2) (duplicates are not allowed but I'm ignoring that) so the complexity of this algorithm for n=2 would be O(L^3). For greater values of n, this grows exponentially. Is there a more efficient algorithm for this problem?

  • How to split a string with negative numbers using ActionScript 3.0

    - by inzombiak
    I'm having trouble loading my level. I'm using Ogmo to create my level then I import it. I have no problem converting 0's and 1's into an Array, but I can't figure out how to do the same for -1's. It separates the "-" and the "1". Any help would be great. I've posted my code and the XML files below levelXML = new XML(e.target.data); playerX = int(levelXML.Entities.Player.@x); playerY = int(levelXML.Entities.Player.@y); levelGrid = levelXML.Grid; levelGrid = levelGrid.split("\n").join(""); levelTiles = levelXML.Tiles; levelTiles = levelTiles.split("\n").join(""); levelTiles = levelTiles.split(",").join(""); tileArray = levelTiles.split(""); gridArray = levelGrid.split(""); for(i = 0; i <= 34; i++) { levelArray[i] = new Array(); for(j = 0; j <= 34; j++) { if(tileArray[j*35 + i] == 0) { gridArray[j*35+i] = -1; } var currentSymbol = gridArray[j*35+i]; levelArray[i][j] = currentSymbol; if(gridArray[j*35 + i] == 1) { wall = new Wall; addChild(wall); wall.x = i*20 + 10; wall.y = j*20 + 10; } else if(gridArray[j*35 + i] == -1) { pellet = new Pellet; addChild(pellet); pellet.x = i*20 + 10; pellet.y = j*20 + 10; } } } I know the code is very dirty, but I needed a quick fix.   • How to generate a random unique string with more than 2^30 combination. I also wanted to reverse the process. Is this possible?

    - by Yusuf S
    I have a string which contains 3 elements: a 3 digit code (example: SIN, ABD, SMS, etc) a 1 digit code type (example: 1, 2, 3, etc) a 3 digit number (example: 500, 123, 345) Example string: SIN1500, ABD2123, SMS3345, etc.. I wanted to generate a UNIQUE 10 digit alphanumeric and case sensitive string (only 0-9/a-z/A-Z is allowed), with more than 2^30 (about 1 billion) unique combination per string supplied. The generated code must have a particular algorithm so that I can reverse the process. For example: public static void main(String[] args) { String test = "ABD2123"; String result = generateData(test); System.out.println(generateOutput(test)); //for example, the output of this is: 1jS8g4GDn0 System.out.println(generateOutput(result)); //the output of this will be ABD2123 (the original string supplied) } What I wanted to ask is is there any ideas/examples/libraries in java that can do this? Or at least any hint on what keyword should I put on Google? I tried googling using the keyword java checksum, rng, security, random number, etc and also tried looking at some random number solution (java SecureRandom, xorshift RNG, java.util.zip's checksum, etc) but I can't seem to find one? Thanks! EDIT: My use case for this program is to generate some kind of unique voucher number to be used by specific customers. The string supplied will contains 3 digit code for company ID, 1 digit code for voucher type, and a 3 digit number for the voucher nominal. I also tried adding 3 random alphanumeric (so the final digit is 7 + 3 digit = 10 digit). This is what I've done so far, but the result is not very good (only about 100 thousand combination): public static String in ="somerandomstrings"; public static String out="someotherrandomstrings"; public static String encrypt(String kata) throws Exception { String result=""; String ina=in; String outa=out; Random ran = new Random(); Integer modulus=in.length(); Integer offset= ((Integer.parseInt(Utils.convertDateToString(new Date(), "SS")))+ran.nextInt(60))/2%modulus; result=ina.substring(offset, offset+1); ina=ina+ina; ina=ina.substring(offset, offset+modulus); result=result+translate(kata, ina, outa); return result; } EDIT: I'm sorry I forgot to put the "translate" function : public static String translate(String kata,String seq1, String seq2){ String result=""; if(kata!=null&seq1!=null&seq2!=null){ String[] a=kata.split(""); for (int j = 1; j < a.length; j++) { String b=a[j]; String[]seq1split=seq1.split(""); String[]seq2split=seq2.split(""); int hint=seq1.indexOf(b)+1; String sq=""; if(seq1split.length>hint) sq=seq1split[hint]; String sq1=""; if(seq2split.length>hint) sq1=seq2split[hint]; b=b.replace(sq, sq1); result=result+b; } } return result; }

  • Need to create a string token dynamically base on which method is calling it

    - by sa
    This is a minimal code. I have the string Str which is used by various methods. I want to in getId method be able to do 2 things Assign class="PDP" to it and Give it a value3 So the final string looks like <tr class='PDP' id='{2}'> <td {0}</td><td>{1}</td></tr> But please note that I will need different values for class in different methods so some Str will have PDP, another will have PTM etc. Is there a clean way to achieve this . private const string Str = "<tr><td >{0}</td><td>{1}</td></tr>"; public static string getId() { string field=string.Format(str, value1,value2, found=true? value3:""); }

  • Regular expression match, extracting only wanted segments of string

    - by Ben Carey
    I am trying to extract three segments from a string. As I am not particularly good with regular expressions, I think what I have done could probably be done better... I would like to extract the bold parts of the following string: SOMETEXT: ANYTHING_HERE (Old=ANYTHING_HERE, New=ANYTHING_HERE) Some examples could be: ABC: Some_Field (Old=,New=123) ABC: Some_Field (Old=ABCde,New=1234) ABC: Some_Field (Old=Hello World,New=Bye Bye World) So the above would return the following matches: $matches[0] = 'Some_Field'; $matches[1] = ''; $matches[2] = '123'; So far I have the following code: preg_match_all('/^([a-z]*\:(\s?)+)(.+)(\s?)+\(old=(.+)\,(\s?)+new=(.+)\)/i',$string,$matches); The issue with the above is that it returns a match for each separate segment of the string. I do not know how to ensure the string is the correct format using a regular expression without catching and storing the match if that makes sense? So, my question, if not already clear, how I can retrieve just the segments that I want from the above string?

  • Running unittest with typical test directory structure.

    - by Major Major
    The very common directory structure for even a simple Python module seems to be to separate the unit tests into their own test directory: new_project/ antigravity/ antigravity.py test/ test_antigravity.py setup.py etc. for example see this Python project howto. My question is simply What's the usual way of actually running the tests? I suspect this is obvious to everyone except me, but you can't just run python test_antigravity.py from the test directory as its import antigravity will fail as the module is not on the path. I know I could modify PYTHONPATH and other search path related tricks, but I can't believe that's the simplest way - it's fine if you're the developer but not realistic to expect your users to use if they just want to check the tests are passing. The other alternative is just to copy the test file into the other directory, but it seems a bit dumb and misses the point of having them in a separate directory to start with. So, if you had just downloaded the source to my new project how would you run the unit tests? I'd prefer an answer that would let me say to my users: "To run the unit tests do X."

  • How can I handle this string concatenation in C in a reusable way

    - by hyphen this
    I've been writing a small C application that operates on files, and I've found that I have been copy+pasting this code around my functions: char fullpath[PATH_MAX]; fullpath[0] = '\0'; strcat(fullpath, BASE_PATH); strcat(fullpath, subdir); strcat(fullpath, "/"); strcat(fullpath, filename); // do something with fullpath... Is there a better way? The first thought that comes to mind is to create a macro but I'm sure this is a common problem in C, and I'm wondering how others have solve it.

  • Using Enums for comparing string values in Switch

    - by kaleidoscope
    Problem Scenario: There is an enum keeping track of operations to be performed on a table Public Enum PartitionKey { Createtask, Updatetask, Deletetask } User is entering the value for the operation to be performed and the code to check the value entered in switch case. Switch (value) {           case PartitionKey.Createtask.ToString():          {          Create();          break;          }          case PartitionKey.Updatetask.ToString():          {           Update();           break;          }          case PartitionKey.Deletetask.ToString():          {           Delete();          break;          } } and it displays as error as “.” Solution: One of the possible implmentation is as below. Public Enum PartitionKey: byte { Createtask, Updatetask, Deletetask } Switch ((PartitionKey)(Int32.Parse(value))) {          case PartitionKey.Createtask:          {                   Create();                   break;          }          case PartitionKey.Updatetask:          {                    Update();                   break;          }          case PartitionKey.Deletetask:          {                    Delete();                   break;          }          default:          {                   break;          } } Technorati Tags: Enum,A Constant Value is required,Geeta,C#
