  • Objecive C Error, Message sent to deallocated object

    - by Dave C
Hello, I have several buttons on my app that are being created dynamically. They are all pointed at the button click event when pressed. When the button pressed method is called, the sender's tag(int value) is parsed into the controllers house ID. It works with one of the buttons... the first one created to be specific, but the others throw the following error: -[CFNumber intValue]: message sent to deallocated instance 0xc4bb0ff0 I am not releasing these buttons anywhere in my code... I haven't set them to auto release or anything like that... just wondering why they are doing this on the click. The button click event: - (IBAction) ButtonClick: (id) sender { HouseholdViewController *controller = [[HouseholdViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"HouseholdViewController" bundle:nil]; controller.delegate = self; controller.HouseID = [(NSInteger)[(UIButton *)sender tag] intValue]; //this line throws an error controller.modalTransitionStyle = UIModalTransitionStyleFlipHorizontal; [self presentModalViewController:controller animated:YES]; [controller release]; } Where I am creating the buttons: UIButton *button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; button.frame = CGRectMake(MyLongInScreenCoords, MyLatInScreenCoords, 50, 50); UIImage *buttonImageNormal = [UIImage imageNamed:@"blue_pin.png"]; UIImage *strechableButtonImageNormal = [buttonImageNormal stretchableImageWithLeftCapWidth:50 topCapHeight:50]; [button setBackgroundImage:strechableButtonImageNormal forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [self.view addSubview:button]; button.tag = [NSNumber numberWithInt:[[words objectAtIndex: i] intValue]]; ButtonPoints[CurrentHouseCount][0] = button; ButtonPoints[CurrentHouseCount][1] = [NSValue valueWithCGPoint:CGPointMake(MyActualLat, MyActualLong)]; [button addTarget:self action:@selector(ButtonClick:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; CurrentHouseCount++; Thank you for any assistance.

  • My system show extremely hot processor temperature

    - by user34300
I've build a small miniITX system with Pentium 4 processor. It works fine but there's extremely hot temperature is shown by the CPU sensor, around 120 C. Of course this is causing the fan run extremely fast as well making the whole system very loud. I tried to touch the CPU radiator but it is very cool so this should be some kind of error. Could you please give me an advice on how to troubleshoot this?

  • Windows running service as "system" when log on as is "user"

    - by danspants
I have an apache service that is running as "SYSTEM", however the log on as settings are configured to run as my user account. The windows task manager claims that I am the user name associated with the service when it's running, however I had the apache service call a python script which indicates that the user is "SYSTEM. Any ideas on how to fix this? I've reinstalled 3 times and once with a newer version.

  • "Error loading operating system": Win7/Vista

    - by LookitsPuck
Hey fellas, Have this computer for about 2 years now. Originally had Vista installed, now have Windows 7 installed. Both on separate hard drives. Also have another drive used strictly for media. About a week ago, the Vista hard drive started going on its way out. Was getting problems on startup. After a few BIOS settings, I was able to get into Windows 7 and everything was fine. However, I started remembering the startup issues, so I deleted the bootup for Vista under msconfig. Didn't restart the computer at that time, though. For a few days, everything was ok. Last night I play a little poker, then hit the hay. I wake up to a good ole "Error loading operating system" on the screen. Just wonderful. Looks like the computer restarted overnight (auto updates, anyone?). So, after a big of finagling and half hearted tries, I can't get past the "Error loading operating system" screen. FWIW, in the BIOS it can see my hard drives fine. So I move on. I get my Windows 7 installation disk to try and do a repair. Go in the BIOS, change boot priority to DVD drive, and we're on our merry way. After loading from the disc, I first try jumping into the "Repair your computer" section. That opens up the System Recovery Options. However, this is where the problem comes into play. I don't see any operating systems here. Nada. What's odd though is if I click on the Load Drivers button, I can see my Windows 7 partition (C:), and can go through the files and folders without issue. What do I do at this point? I can't repair it. It seems like I can traverse the hard drive without issue when in an open dialog in the System Recovery Options, but I'm getting the good ole "Error loading computer" on bootup. Suggestions? Thanks all!!

  • pinpointing "conditional jump or move depends on uninitialized value(s)" valgrind message

    - by kamziro
So I've been getting some mysterious uninitialized values message from valgrind and it's been quite the mystery as of where the bad value originated from. Seems that valgrind shows the place where the unitialised value ends up being used, but not the origin of the uninitialised value. ==11366== Conditional jump or move depends on uninitialised value(s) ==11366== at 0x43CAE4F: __printf_fp (in /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc-2.7.so) ==11366== by 0x43C6563: vfprintf (in /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc-2.7.so) ==11366== by 0x43EAC03: vsnprintf (in /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc-2.7.so) ==11366== by 0x42D475B: (within /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.9) ==11366== by 0x42E2C9B: std::ostreambuf_iterator<char, std::char_traits<char> > std::num_put<char, std::ostreambuf_iterator<char, std::char_traits<char> > >::_M_insert_float<double>(std::ostreambuf_iterator<char, std::char_traits<char> >, std::ios_base&, char, char, double) const (in /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.9) ==11366== by 0x42E31B4: std::num_put<char, std::ostreambuf_iterator<char, std::char_traits<char> > >::do_put(std::ostreambuf_iterator<char, std::char_traits<char> >, std::ios_base&, char, double) const (in /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.9) ==11366== by 0x42EE56F: std::ostream& std::ostream::_M_insert<double>(double) (in /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.9) ==11366== by 0x81109ED: Snake::SnakeBody::syncBodyPos() (ostream:221) ==11366== by 0x810B9F1: Snake::Snake::update() (snake.cpp:257) ==11366== by 0x81113C1: SnakeApp::updateState() (snakeapp.cpp:224) ==11366== by 0x8120351: RoenGL::updateState() (roengl.cpp:1180) ==11366== by 0x81E87D9: Roensachs::update() (rs.cpp:321) As can be seen, it gets quite cryptic.. especially because when it's saying by Class::MethodX, it sometimes points straight to ostream etc. Perhaps this is due to optimization? ==11366== by 0x81109ED: Snake::SnakeBody::syncBodyPos() (ostream:221) Just like that. • Change the mysql.sock that the system PHP uses

    - by Mark P.
In the past I had installed MySQL as part of XAMPP in /Applications/XAMPP/ and the PHP that the system used (e.g. from command line) used /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/var/mysql/mysql.sock to connect with MySQL. Now I have installed MySQL 5 with macports and I want my system PHP to be able to use that. I think I must set PHP to use /opt/local/var/run/mysql5/mysqld.sock but where do I set this? Is there a php.ini for CLI PHP?

I am trying to load Linq on my .Net 3.5 enabled web server by adding the following to my .aspx page: <%@ Import Namespace="System.Query" %> However, this fails and tells me it cannot find the namespace. The type or namespace name 'Query' does not exist in the namespace 'System' I have also tried with no luck: System.Data.Linq System.Linq System.Xml.Linq I believe that .Net 3.5 is working because var hello = "Hello World" seems to work. • SYSTEM hive of the register is causing computer to BSOD on boot

    - by FernandoSBS
After some work on my computer, perhaps some updates installs, it didn't boot anymore. BSOD on windows logo loading. After some research I've found out that if I replace the SYSTEM hive of the register with the last backup it boots ok, but of course goes back to an old stage of machine setup. So my question is: where does register stores hardware and/or updates/software that loads in the machine boot, so that I can check which program is producing that BSOD and disable it? System is Win 7 64 bits SP1

  • Configuration Log4j: ConsoleAppender to System.err?

    - by Gerard
I saw that one of our tools uses a ConsoleAppender to System.err next to System.out in it's log4j configuration. Fragments of the configuration: <appender name="CONSOLE" class="org.apache.log4j.ConsoleAppender"> <!-- Log to STDOUT. --> <param name="Target" value="System.out"/> .... <appender name="CONSOLE_ERR" class="org.apache.log4j.ConsoleAppender"> <!-- Log to STDERR. --> <param name="Target" value="System.err"/> In Eclipse this results in double messages to the console, so I believe that is of no use, right? On the Linux server I see only one message to the PuTTY console, so where would that System.err message go to?

  • xval get message from resource file

    - by Rob
    I'm working on a CMS system which uses a resource file to get information and errormessages from. The client side validation is working without problems, only it's not getting the errormessage from the resource file. While debugging i figured out xval seems to get the errormessages from a javascript file where the messages are set hard-coded. Is there some way to override this? Below the code which should make the relation to the resourcefile en specify the error when the field is left empty. [Property] [Required(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(CMSMessages), ErrorMessageResourceName = "EnterValidMoney")] public virtual Double ShippingCost { get; set; }

  • How to install Ubuntu, Windows XP and Windows 7 from scratch as triple-boot system

    - by simon
I'm currently running Windows XP, but have ordered Windows 7. I want to keep Windows XP on a separate partition, and install Ubuntu as well. In which order should I install the OSs, and is there anything differing from an ordinary single-system install I should keep in mind? For example, does the order of partition make any difference? If I want to have the system drive as "C:" drive in both Win XP and Win 7, what should I do?

  • C# MessageBox Error Messages

    - by Jim Fell
Hello. In my application I am using message boxes to display error information. try { // Something... } catch (SystemException ex) { MessageBox.Show(ex.Message, "Error", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Error); } This was fine at first, but as my program grows it becomes increasingly difficult to find the try-catch block where this error is generated. Is there a way to display the line of code or function in which the error was generated? I am using Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition. Thanks.

  • System.out.println() does not operate in Akka actor

    - by faisal abdulai
I am kind of baffled by this encointer. I am working an akka project that was created as a maven projecct and imported into eclipse using the mvn eclipse:eclipse command. the akka actor has the system println method just to make it easy to do read the functions and methods invoked. However any time I run the akka system, the println command does not print any thing to the eclipse console but I do not get any error messages. does any one have any idea about this. below is a code snippet. public class MasterActor extends UntypedActor { /** * */ ActorSystem system = ActorSystem.create("container"); ActorRef worker1; //public MasterActor(){} @Override public void onReceive(Object message) throws Exception { System.out.println(" Master Actor 5"); if(message instanceof GesturePoints) { //GesturePoints gp = (GesturePoints) message; System.out.println(" Master Actor 1"); try { worker1.tell(message, getSelf()); System.out.println(" Master Actor 2"); } catch (Exception e) { getSender().tell(new akka.actor.Status.Failure(e), getSelf()); throw e; } } else{ unhandled(message);} } public void preStart() { worker1 = getContext().actorFor("akka://[email protected]:2553/user/workerActor"); } } don't know whether it is a bug in eclipse. thank you.

  • Why isn't an exception thrown when the right .NET framework version is not present?

    - by Nate Heinrich
We have a .NET application which targets .NET 3.5. Our clients run it from a shared drive (very infrequently) in order to have a central config file location. We have noticed that if a workstation accesses the shared drive and runs the program, but does not have .NET 3.5 installed, nothing happens, no error, no exception, no log entry, it just doesn't launch. Why is there no error message shown in windows by the CLR? Is there something I can put at the beginning of the code that would ensure that a proper error message is displayed? It is not an option to run an installer that would check for prereqs, as we are only installing it in one central location. Thanks.

  • Send Click Message to another application process

    - by Nazar
Hi Guys I have a scenario, i need to send click events to an independent application. I started that application with the following code. private Process app; app = new Process(); app.StartInfo.FileName = app_path; app.StartInfo.WorkingDirectory = dir_path; app.Start(); Now i want to send Mouse click message to that applicaiton, I have specific coordinates in relative to application window. How can i do it using Windows Messaging or any other technique. I used [DllImport("user32.dll")] private static extern void mouse_event(UInt32 dwFlags, UInt32 dx, UInt32 dy, UInt32 dwData, IntPtr dwExtraInfo); It works well but cause the pointer to move as well. So not fit for my need. Then i use. [DllImport("user32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, SetLastError = false)] static extern IntPtr SendMessage(IntPtr hWnd, int Msg, int wParam, int lParam); It works well for minimize maximize, but do not work for mouse events. The codes for mousevents i am using are, WM_LBUTTONDOWN = 0x201, //Left mousebutton down WM_LBUTTONUP = 0x202, //Left mousebutton up WM_LBUTTONDBLCLK = 0x203, //Left mousebutton doubleclick WM_RBUTTONDOWN = 0x204, //Right mousebutton down WM_RBUTTONUP = 0x205, //Right mousebutton up WM_RBUTTONDBLCLK = 0x206, //Right mousebutton do Thanks for the help in advance, and waiting for feedback.

  • wpf & validation application block > message localization > messageTemplateResource Name&Type

    - by Shaboboo
I'm trying to write validation rules for my data objects in a WPF application. I'm writing them in the configuration file, and so far they are working fine. I'm stumped on how to localize the messages using messageTemplateResourceName and messageTemplateResourceType. What I know is that the strings can be writen in a resource file, given a name and referenced by that name. I get the idea, but i haven't been able to make this work. <ruleset name="Rule Set"> <properties> <property name="StringValue"> <validator lowerBound="0" lowerBoundType="Ignore" upperBound="25" upperBoundType="Inclusive" negated="false" messageTemplate="" messageTemplateResourceName="msg1" messageTemplateResourceType="Resources" tag="" type="Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Validation.Validators.StringLengthValidator, Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Validation" name="String Length Validator" /> </property> </properties> </ruleset> Where is the resource file and what value do I pass to messageTemplateResourceType? I have tried writing the messages in the shell project's resource file but no sucess trying to retrieve the value. I only get the default built-in message. I've tried messageTemplateResourceType="typeof(Resources)" messageTemplateResourceType="Resources" messageTemplateResourceType="Resources.resx" messageTemplateResourceType="typeof(Shell)" messageTemplateResourceType="Shell" messageTemplateResourceType="Shell, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null" I've also tried adding a new resource file in the shell project, and adding a resource file to the data object's library. I'm all out of ideas Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not even married to the idea of resource files, so if there are other ways to localize these messages I'd love to know! thanks

  • How to access system.webserver web.config node in .NET 2

    - by JK
Are there any .NET APis that can read/update the system.webServer node in web.config? I know I can do it via reading/parsing the web.config file as xml but that's awkward. To read/update the system.web node in .NET 2 I can use: HttpModulesSection httpModulesSection = (HttpModulesSection)configuration.GetSection("system.web/httpModules"); But is there any API based way of accessing system.web/modules using .NET 2? I have to reference the .NET 2 version of system.web.configuration because I don't know in advance if my web app will be run on a server with .NET 2 or 3.5. So it is limited to .NET 2 API calls only. Thanks

  • System.Drawing - bad text rendering using DrawString on top of transparent pixels.

    - by mackenir
    When rendering text into a bitmap, I find that text looks very bad when rendered on top of an area with non-opaque alpha. The problem is progressively worse as the underlying pixels become more transparent. If I had to guess I'd say that when underlying pixels are transparent, the text renderer draws any anti-aliased 'gray' pixels as solid black. Here are some screenshots: Text drawn on top of transparent pixels: Text drawn on top of semi-transparent pixels: Text drawn on opaque pixels: Here is the code used to render the text: g.SmoothingMode = SmoothingMode.HighQuality; g.DrawString("Press the spacebar", Font, Brushes.Black, textLeft, textTop);

  • Does a System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement.Principal ever have a null GUID?

    - by Josh
I have a situation where I need to store a globally unique identifier that points to an Active Directory user account. I'm leaning towards the Guid because it is easier to store than the Sid. According to the MSDN entry, the property (which is a Nullable), will always return null if the ContextType is set to "Machine." I don't need to worry about this because our ContextType will always be set to "Domain." My question is, will this property ever return null if the ContextType is "Domain"? In other words, will an account in an AD DS store always have a Guid?

  • Hiding the console window in a system() call

    - by Justen
Continuing from this question With each system call, the function constructs a set of parameters and sends them off to another program that is just console-based. Is there a way I can make it so that no console window pops up for each call? I've done a search but the ones that aren't a linker issue just aren't working for me. For instance, I tried the _execl call and System::Diagnostics::Process^ myProcess = gcnew System::Diagnostics::Process; but they aren't working. The _execl will bring a console window up, scroll a bunch of stuff (from the program I called I guess), then close the my app and not even do what it was supposed to do. The System::Diagnostics::Process^ myProcess = gcnew System::Diagnostics::Process; doesn't seem to execute what I want either because the output folder that should contain files, contains nothing. So I'm open for ideas.
