• Bridging two connections in windows 7

  I have recently bought an Samsung UE32ES5500 and I want to connect it to the internet. Not wanting to buy an expensive Samsung wireless adapter for the TV, I've decided to use an ethernet cable. Because the Internet cable passes through underground to the bedroom and the TV is located in the living room, i decided to put a router in the bedroom, and receive it's signal in the living room using a windows 7 laptop. Afterwards I connected the laptop to the TV through an ethernet cable, and bridged the two connections in Network Connections in Control Panel on the laptop. The TV successfully finds the laptop (and the router I think) but still cannot connect to the internet. Does anyone knows a solution to this problem? (the connections must be bridged because I want to have only one network in the house)

  I want to be able to route between two vlans that I have created and I am not sure how to go about it. So I have created, VLAN 5 with IP Address 192.168.5.1/24 and VLAN 10 with IP Address 192.168.0.1/24 //main IP addresses that I use. How would I be able to get (for example) the IP Address 192.168.0.144 to see any ip addresses in 192.168.5.1/24? Also do you have to set a default gateway for each VLAN or do you set the default gateway for the switch.

  I have an apache2 server running on my ubuntu system. I have two sites enabled: default (ServerName localhost) site2 (ServerName jslib) I run a windows Virtual Box Machine, to be able to test my stuff in IE. If i type the ubuntu's IP in the addressbar i get the localhost. I was wondering how can i access both (or more as i need it) from other machines. Thanks update I have configured the windows' hosts file like so: 10.0.2.2 localhost 10.0.2.2 jslib It works, but i am really looking for something that i can configure on the server side, and then just change the value of the URL, am i crazy?

  there is a network including a router, two hosts and a switch which connects hosts to router. i have a virtual machine on my system. the network adapter is set to act as bridge. so the virtual machine and real OS are my 2 hosts on different LAN. they use one network card and are connected to a switch. when each of host send a packet to the other one, the switch duplicate the packet and forward it to both router and the other host. how can I solve the duplicate packet problem?   Hi, I want to make sure that certain users are available in a group from the windows domain. I installed "Group Policy Management" and can open the Forest, the Domain. But then I am not sure what I am searching. I can select a link to a Group Policy Object (GPO). In Settings i see the Drive Maps and I know them. But how can I display a list of users that use this GPO? Right-click, Edit... is disabled. net group my_gpo does not work since I am not on a Windows Domain Controller. Any possibility to find out anyway?

  I have two data locations, one to a local and one to a remote database. How do I copy the local database schema to the remote? The reason I don't use "Publish to provider" is that I'm not sure that I have all the information necessary to do so. I have the database name, server, username and pass but not "web service address" nor "web service password". I work in Visual Studio 2005. The server is a MSSQL 2005 server. I have tried using the queries but I only get errors doing so.

• Two domains hosted on the same server with different root folder shows up the same homepage

  I have hosted two domains from GoDaddy at Linode VPS. They are mobiletoast.com and lesseltechnologies.com Thought the latter site has a separate index folder, whenever I navigate to it, I get the homepage of mobiletoast.com The strange thing is, I see the expected page (It works), when I open the site from my mobile phone. But when I open the site from my PC (any browser, without any cache, hard refresh), I get the homepage of mobiletoast.com The Linode support team says, they see the correct "It works" page. But I am not able to see that page.   I have been trying to find an answer to this, but all I get is hobbyists trying to connect they linksys's and get some magic out of it. So I am thinking of a way I could combine two 100Mbp Fiber Optics lines into a single connection for our office. I assume it involves some CISCO learning or something like this. Was thinking that I might need to configure some big router to load-balance the NAT'ing in some way. I assume that meny of you have done something similar and maybe someone could share the knowledge or at least provide some tips ?

  A little mishap happened earlier today and i am thinking i should have a copy of my external harddrive since 10% of it is very valuable. What is the best solution to keep two external harddrive in sync? i'll probably use one as regular and maybe use the other only to copy data. The easiest way to keep it in sync is to clear one drive and copy the other but 1T of data will take a long time. Whats a good existing app that will keep them in sync? freeware preferred.

  We have Comcast internet and everything was fine until recently. I am currently using my father-in-law's PC, and Gmail, Paypal, and Google all work fine. They don't work on my laptop or my husband's. We've reset the router/modem several times and nothing works. So we unplugged the main line outside and it fixed it for two weeks but now it's back to being stupid again. We've tried everything else and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

  I've a machine with two hard drives. The first one has 80 GB and the second has 120 GB. I'm about to format this machine and install Linux, and I want to install all the main partitions (/, /boot, /usr/, etc.) on the first hard disk drive (sda) and mount the /home and /var partition on second disk (sdb). Is this possible, and do I have to do something after the instalation? Or is the second hard disk drive automatically mounted? How can I do it? I won't do it, but is there any problem to mount /boot on the second hard disk drive? I'm using Ubuntu 12.04.

• Share ADSL Internet connection between two computers 40 meters away (straight) from each other

  I have a box with a working ADSL Internet connection. About 40 meters away (straight), in another house, there is another, older box. There are two houses in between. Would there be some practical way to supply an Internet connection to the older box? The neighbors are ok with us installing cables and stuff. I'd say wifi would not be practical, since the houses in between would weaken the signal too much. And using Ethernet cables might require a switch or router in between, due to Ethernet distance limitations. Advice?

  This is an issue that's annoyed me for some time. About a year ago, the two-finger scrolling in Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro stopped working. I discovered that a fix for this is to open Bootcamp from the control panel, go to the Trackpad tab, tick and untick "Tap to click" and click ok. This has to be done every time the machine is woken from sleep or rebooted. I'm now using Windows 8 and encountering the same issue. I've tried several different driver revisions, and none have helped. I'm sick of going through the motions. Has anyone got a solution for this?

I set up the second interface with a static IP address on the faster connection. This unfortunately does not work. I can verify that the second IP address works perfectly when I disable the first IP address. What do I need to do to get two separate interface IP addresses on different subnets working on the same server?

  I'm using VLC 2.0.8 on Windows 7. How do I play two mp3s simultaneously from the command line (command line because to write a batch script that launches the mp3s)? I've tried vlc 1.mp3 2.mp3 and vlc 1.mp3 --input-slave 2.mp3 (I've seen the second one as a way to play a video file and a separate audio file simultaneously). Both of these just launch 1.mp3. Not important, but if you're wondering, the mp3s are respectively cafe sounds and rain sounds, so I can play sounds similar to those found at http://rainycafe.com/ without having to launch a browser.

  I have two searchable pdf documents say even.pdf and odd.pdf which contains respectively even and odd pages of a book. I can decompile each pdf to separate files 001.pdf 002.pdf oo3.pdf ....The question is how to merge them? They are both even and odd sequences numbered 1,2,3. If it where other numbering on decompile stage with pdftk for even 1,3,5 and for odd 2,4,6 instead of existing order 1,2,3, 4.. i coulde simple merge them, but i ignore this method of numbering with pdftk. May be i need to do the task in other way?

• Windows 7 with two network cards doesn't route traffic

  I have simple task to do: I have wni7 with two nics.I want to connect another comp(osx) to win7 through second nic to connect it to internet. I already changed the registry. Win7 interface with 192.168.2.1 has no gateway set (no point to do that) OSX interface with 192.168.2.2 has gateway set to 192.168.2.1 I do not add any routes on win7, every thing seems to be already there network on second nic is detected as "undefined network" (probably effect of no gateway) i can achieve any connectivity to internet from OSX only by enabling network connection sharing on nic with 192.168.2.1, but it enables NAT and I'm interested only in pure routing without nat(it's a setup for some research). firewall is off. It seems to me that win7 refuses to forward packets for some reason. Perhaps "undefined network" and NLA service is to blame, although i couldn't find any info about that.   Need help according to scenario given: Client end PCs: 400 + Network : Server 1 (Linux) : 192.168.2.0/24 (For Application, Internet not working) GW: 192.168.2.1 Clients: 192.168.2.1 - 254 Server 2 (Linux) : 192.168.3.0/24 (For Internet users) GW: 192.168.3.1 Clients: 192.168.3.2 - 254 Server 2 is connected to DSL Broadband. Server 1 and Server 2 both are on same physical network i.e. Same switches. Current issue: i have to deploy a file and print server but this server will be accessed by both (192.168.2.x and 192.168.3.x) one same workgroup. as both subnets are on same switched network. Limitations: Currently there is no hardware routers and firewall. Need to complete this task with Linux / Windows / AD. Tested / Worked so far: Configured one PC with two NIC's With the IPS: NIC 1 : 192.168.3.2 GW: 192.168.3.1 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 NIC 2 : 192.168.2.2 GW: Empty Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Kindly provide any solution what should i do to get sharing enable on both Subnets. • RAID 1 after install and two controlers

  I have question regarding RAID 1. Can I setup software RAID 1 after having installed the first drive and setup ubuntu 12? I know that during server install and partitioning I can select RAID and setup then, but what I am not clear on is how in the world to setup RAID 1 after the fact? Can someone provide directions for this? Also, can I RAID 1 two drives one being 500GB and the mirror drive being 1TB? Of course the mirror drive would have a 500GB partition but that's my point. Lastly, can one drive be on IDE and the other on a SATA controller? I know speed will be an issue, that doesn't matter, I just need to know if it will work without corrupting data and if it's the same process? Thanks.

  We have a application in Windows Server that download data from SQL server and store in our local machine. Now the problem I have is my Windows Server has two logins and in one login the app runs real slow, like gets 1 row in a minute, and from another login it fetches 20 rows in a minute. We have this problem only for a last couple of days. What could have caused this? More details: SQL server:S QL server2008 Os: Windows server 2008 Access method: Remote connection. How is this possible if $backups is empty?
