  • Control pdb file output from build defintion file

    - by Urvi
Hello, I am trying to generate a release build with no pdb files generated. I have seen numerous posts that suggest right-clicking on the project, selecting Properties, going to the Build tab and then to the Advanced... butoon and changing Debug Info to none. This works and all, but I need to do this for a build of ~50 solutions which contain ~25 projects each! Other posts mention editing the appropriate .csproj file, but again, with so many projects, this would take a long time. Is there any way to achieve this via the TFSBuild.proj file? I have tried adding the following to the TFSBuild.proj file, with no luck. <PropertyGroup> <Configuration>Release</Configuration> <Platform>AnyCPU</Platform> </PropertyGroup> <PropertyGroup> <DebugSymbols>false</DebugSymbols> <DebugType>none</DebugType> <Optimize>true</Optimize> </PropertyGroup> The following line prints out Release|AnyCPU, none, and false, but I still see .pdb file in the $(OutputDir) folder. <Message Text="$Configuration|Platform): $(Configuration)|$(Platform)" /> <Message Text="DebugType is: $(DebugType)"/> <Message Text="DebugSymbols is: $(DebugSymbols)"/> Thanks in advance, Urvi

  • ASP.NET SQLMembership Provider not logging in

    - by cfdev9
My web app uses the sql memebership provider. Running it locally all is well, deploying to a dev server it works fine too in firefox, but in IE8 something unexpected is happening. Once a user logs in they're supposed to be redirected to home.aspx. What's happening when I attempt to login is it appears to accept the login credentials but then doesn't redirect to home.aspx. Instead it just redirects me to the login page as though I had attempted to access home.aspx directly without being logged in. The url parameter ReturnUrl is appended, Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fhome.aspx Why is this only happening with IE8? My local PC is IIS7 but the server is IIS6. Using the same web.config Full code behind public partial class Login : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!IsPostBack) { Session.Abandon(); FormsAuthentication.SignOut(); } } protected void btnSubmit_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (Membership.ValidateUser(tbUsername.Text, tbPassword.Text)) { if (Request.QueryString["ReturnUrl"] != null) { FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(tbUsername.Text, false); } else { FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(tbUsername.Text, false); Response.Redirect("~/Home.aspx"); } } } } Full web.config • Define a swig interface file for generation of wrapper to every type from some header file

    - by Dmitriy Matveev
Hi! We're using some C library in our Java project. Several years ago some other developer which has retired few years ago (as always) has created all the wrappers for us. The wrappers were generated by the swig, but the interface file is lost now. The basic idea of library and the wrappers for it is following: There only one function which returns pointer to some complex object. And there are wrapper for that function. The complex object is a tree-like structure with dozens of node kinds and types (C structures) used to represent them. There are hundreds of wrappers for every field of every type and we're trying to use them all. The library was updated some time ago and now there are some new data we unaware of which yet, but would like to use. This data is contained in some of the objects indirectly contained or referenced from the object created by the function we call (Some new fields and types were added). I know that I shouldn't make any changes to the wrappers by hand and should rather modify the interface, but as I already wrote it's missing. For now I only want to generate wrappers some few types which are added/changed and them to our old wrappers, but later I want to start creation of interface file which will define "what and how should be wrapped". All the definitions necessary for us are defined in single header file. Is it possible to tell swig to generate wrappers for every type in this header? If so, how can I write such interface file?

  • Handling file uploads with JavaScript and Google Gears, is there a better solution?

    - by gnarf
So - I've been using this method of file uploading for a bit, but it seems that Google Gears has poor support for the newer browsers that implement the HTML5 specs. I've heard the word deprecated floating around a few channels, so I'm looking for a replacement that can accomplish the following tasks, and support the new browsers. I can always fall back to gears / standard file POST's but these following items make my process much simpler: Users MUST to be able to select multiple files for uploading in the dialog. I MUST be able to receive status updates on the transmission of a file. (progress bars) I would like to be able to use PUT requests instead of POST I would like to be able to easily attach these events to existing HTML elements using JavaScript. I.E. the File Selection should be triggered on a <button> click. I would like to be able to control response/request parameters easily using JavaScript. I'm not sure if the new HTML5 browsers have support for the desktop/request objects gears uses, or if there is a flash uploader that has these features that I am missing in my google searches. An example of uploading code using gears: // select some files: var desktop = google.gears.factory.create('beta.desktop'); desktop.openFiles(selectFilesCallback); function selectFilesCallback(files) { $.each(files, function(k,file) { // this code actually goes through a queue, and creates some status bars // but it is unimportant to show here... sendFile(file); }); } function sendFile(file) { google.gears.factory.create('beta.httprequest'); request.open('PUT', upl.url); request.setRequestHeader('filename', file.name); request.upload.onprogress = function(e) { // gives me % status updates... allows e.loaded/e.total }; request.onreadystatechange = function() { if (request.readyState == 4) { // completed the upload! } }; request.send(file.blob); return request; } Edit: apparently flash isn't capable of using PUT requests, so I have changed it to a "like" instead of a "must".

  • using ini file in vb6, problem with path to file

    - by DrPut
I have read many articles about how to use an INI file within my VB6 project. I don't have a problem with the methods, my problem is how to make the EXE file find the INI file. I don't want to hard code the path in the program. I simply want the EXE to expect the INI file to be present in the same folder the EXE is executed from. When I run the program from inside VB6 IDE, the INI is found and processed. When I compile the program and run the EXE, nothing is found. My code looks like: gServer = sGetINI(sINIFile, "TOOLBOM", "ServerName", "?") where TOOLBOM is the [Section] and "ServerName" is the key for the value. I obtained the following code for the API: Rem API DECLARATIONS Declare Function GetPrivateProfileString Lib "kernel32" Alias _ "GetPrivateProfileStringA" (ByVal lpApplicationName _ As String, ByVal lpKeyName As Any, ByVal lpDefault _ As String, ByVal lpReturnedString As String, ByVal _ nSize As Long, ByVal lpFileName As String) As Long Declare Function WritePrivateProfileString Lib "kernel32" Alias _ "WritePrivateProfileStringA" (ByVal lpApplicationName _ As String, ByVal lpKeyName As Any, ByVal lpString As Any, _ ByVal lpFileName As String) As Long Public Function sGetINI(sINIFile As String, sSection As String, sKey _ As String, sDefault As String) As String Dim sTemp As String * 256 Dim nLength As Integer sTemp = Space$(256) nLength = GetPrivateProfileString(sSection, sKey, sDefault, sTemp, _ 255, sINIFile) sGetINI = Left$(sTemp, nLength) End Function Public Sub writeINI(sINIFile As String, sSection As String, sKey _ As String, sValue As String) Dim n As Integer Dim sTemp As String sTemp = sValue Rem Replace any CR/LF characters with spaces For n = 1 To Len(sValue) If Mid$(sValue, n, 1) = vbCr Or Mid$(sValue, n, 1) = vbLf _ Then Mid$(sValue, n) = " " Next n n = WritePrivateProfileString(sSection, sKey, sTemp, sINIFile) End Sub

  • Downloading Large JSON File to local file using Java

    - by user1279675
I'm attempting to download a JSON from the following URL - http://api.crunchbase.com/v/1/companies.js - to a local file. I'm using Java 1.7 and the following JSON Libraries - http://www.json.org/java/ - to attempt to make it work. Here's my code: public static void download(String address, String localFileName) { OutputStream out = null; URLConnection conn = null; InputStream in = null; try { URL url = new URL(address); out = new BufferedOutputStream( new FileOutputStream(localFileName)); conn = url.openConnection(); in = conn.getInputStream(); byte[] buffer = new byte[1024]; int numRead; long numWritten = 0; while ((numRead = in.read(buffer)) != -1) { out.write(buffer, 0, numRead); numWritten += numRead; System.out.println(buffer.length); System.out.println(" " + buffer.hashCode()); } System.out.println(localFileName + "\t" + numWritten); } catch (Exception exception) { exception.printStackTrace(); } finally { try { if (in != null) { in.close(); } if (out != null) { out.close(); } } catch (IOException ioe) { } } } When I run the code everything seems to work until midway through the loop the program seems to stop and not continue reading the JSON Object. Does anyone know why this would stop reading? How could I fix the issue?

  • System hangs while rebooting on Debian...

    - by Usman
Hi, I have Debian (Kernel 2.6.26-2-686) installed on two computers. On one of them it reboots quite finely but I am having following problem with rebooting Debian on my second computer. When i type reboot at the Linux prompt, following messages appear and system hangs up after saying "Restarting System": Broadcast message from root@myname (tty1) (Sun Jan 17 11:23:26 2010) The system is going down for reboot NOW! [ 31.789103] Restarting System. _ Normally when the sytem is busy "" sign blinks but "" at the last line above does not blink which shows, the system hanged up. I tried all keys but the screen is still frozen at the same point. The difference that I noted between my two computers is that I don't have ACPI support in the BIOS of the system which is giving me this error whereas the BIOS of my first computer do have ACPI support on which Debain do not give this restart-hanging problem. I have also disabled running the acpid script by running update-rc.d -f acpid remove but the problem still persists on the second computer. Any ideas to solve or get around this problem?

  • System fans connected to a Gigabyte Z77-D3H motherboard do not increase in speed

    - by Andrew
The motherboard (Gigabyte Z77-D3H) controls my 3-pin CPU fan just fine. My system fans are a 3-pin fan (plugged into SYS_FAN1), and a 4-pin fan plugged into SYS_FAN3. All 3 of the system fan headers are 4-pin, but the user manual states that SYS_FAN1 is really a 3-pin header (that it can control the speed of a 3-pin fan) and the 4th pin is just a reserve. All my fans have a max RPM of 2000. Normally, all the fans run around 1000 RPMs when I'm not doing anything intensive. This proves that the motherboard can set the speed. However, when I run Folding@Home and my temperatures increase (around 70C) only the CPU fan increases to around 2000 RPMs. The system fans stay around 1000 RPMs. Through the BIOS I am able to disable the system fan control and the system fans then run at max RPMs (meaning the motherboard was doing something). I've updated the BIOS to the latest version and tried out Speedfan, but neither helped my situation. What I'd like is for the system fans to ramp up their RPMs as needed. Any thoughts? Tl;dr: My system (case) fans, but not my CPU fan, are always stuck around 1000 RPMs out of 2000 no matter the temperature.

  • How to tackle dell support system? [closed]

    - by Nishant Kumar
We have purchased a Dell Optiplex 9010 SSFV for our organization's work. Since the first installation two of the USB keyboard keys were not working properly. I had to press those keys two times simultaneously, on first time keys did not work and for for second time it printed two characters (as it were buffering first character.) Two keys that were not working properly: Hexangrave (Below the ESC key: `) Double Quotes (Left the enter key ") We registered our complaint with DELL and they suggested (with some hard to understand and weird ENGLISH accent) some test and tricks, such as switching to different ports, checking keyboard on different PC, and it worked well with diff. PC(with Windows 7 Home Premium installed). It was clear that it is an OS fault, hence they suggested to re-install OS. Problem began here, we have a project on the run and currently a video editing project setup on our system, so can't re-install system in hurry and also DELL persons were not providing any other solution such as updating keyboard driver, etc. Arguments I am a Software Engg. and don't think it is a feasible solution to re-install entire system for simple problems. This prob is coming since the fresh system installation, so I don't think it will solve the problem. Finally, I had to find solution myself and got it here, now I want to show my disappointment to dell persons or at least tell them that they should improve there support system to not advice to re-install entire system for that simple problems. Notes We have purchased 5 years NEXT business day support from DELL for around 8000 INR (Not for that kind of solutions from DELL). So can anyone tell me how to tackle dell support system officially, so that they will pay more attention in near future. Thanks

  • Windows 2003 R2 zip program blocking EXE file

    - by Harvey Kwok
I have a Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition SP2 32-bit machine with all latest patch (as of 1-6-2011). It's a VM. I have a zip file, including a pdf file, a txt file and a exe file. If I copy the zip file onto the machine via a shared network drive, I can unzip all the files properly without problems. If I put the zip file on my web server and then I download it from there, I can only unzip the pdf file and txt file. The exe file is silently ignored. I searched the web and found somebody reporting similar issue on XP. If I right click on the zip file downloaded from the web server, at the bottom of the general page, it has a warning message saying that "This file came from antoher computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer" I understand that I can solve the problem by simply clicking the "Unblock" button and extract the file again. The things that bothering me is that why the warning message says "might be blocked"? I tried downloading the same zip file from the same web server on to my Windows 7 box with latest patch. It also shows the same warning message. However, even with the warning message, I can extract all the files properly without clicking the "Unblock" button. Is it a bug in Windows 2003 R2 SP1? Is there any security settings controlling this? How likely will the end user seeing this problem? I want to dig into this because I am worrying people downloading my zip file from my web server might see similar problems. The first thought coming to the user's mind will be the zip file is somehow corrupted. Honestly, I didn't know this "Unblock" feature in Windows before I run into this problem. EDIT I just tried it on another Windows 2003 R2 SP1 machine. The zip program doesn't block the EXE file on that machine either. Both Windows 2003 R2 SP1 machines are joining to the same forest.

  • System Slow After Uprading Ubuntu

    - by Aragon N
I have an Ubuntu network machine which has release of 10.04.1 LTS Lucid. On this system I have Apache, PostgreSQL and django. For some app. development I have to install PGP and php-curl. Due to being on network, I have exported a VMware machine to the Internet and firstly I have upgraded the system and then installed php5 packages on it. I don't know is it all about django or apache configuration. Maybe some Apache settings had changed. In this case in apache where I have to look at ? After all replacing it with its old place, I see that the new system query is slow according to another. Old system query time : 140 ms New system query time : 9.11 s I have checked /etc/network interface and it seems there is no problem. I have checked /etc/resolv.conf and it seems OK I have checked /etc/nsswitch.conf and only host section is different from old one which old system has hosts: files mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns mdns4 and then I have checked time host -t A services.myapp.com and I got real 0m0.355s user 0m0.010s sys 0m0.020s and I have checked apache2 HostnameLookups : find /etc/apache2/ -type f | xargs grep -i HostnameLookups It returned : /etc/apache2/apache2.conf:# HostnameLookups: Log the names of clients or just their IP addresses /etc/apache2/apache2.conf:HostnameLookups Off and now what can I have to check for boosting my system as before?

  • CMSs & ERPs for hospital management system

    - by Akshey
Hi, What are the best free CMSs or CMS plugins or ERPs or any other free tools available for developing a hospital management system? I want to develop it for a children's hospital run by my father. The hospital is small with two doctors. Currently, everything is done manually on paper. The main entities who will be using the system are: Receptionist, the two doctors, chemist and the medical laboratorist. They will use it majorly for keeping the records of the patient. The patients would not be interacting with the system directly. The system needs to be user friendly and should be easy to learn. I was thinking to develop such a system using a CMS or an ERP or any other free tool. I have used wordpress/drupal in past but never used an ERP. Can you please guide me to make such a system using free, and preferably open source, tools? Update: I think it will be mostly a form driven system. What would be easy and better: creating the forms in drupal or using a php framework like symphony or cakePHP? Thanks, Akshey

  • dynamic multiple instance of swfupload (firefox vs IE)

    - by jean27
We have this dynamic uploader which creates a new instance of swfupload. I'm a little bit confused with the outputs produced by firefox and ie. Firefox have the same output as chrome, safari and opera. Whenever I clicked a button for adding a new instance, the previous instances of swfupload in firefox refresh while IE don't. I have this debug information: For Firefox: SWF DEBUG OUTPUT IN FIREFOX ---SWFUpload Instance Info--- Version: 2.2.0 2009-03-25 Movie Name: SWFUpload_0 Settings: upload_url: /86707/listing/asynchronousuploadphoto/87085/15/E1ptdReNMwcU/cUkx4p689ChPRZYMKkLZQ== flash_url: /content/swfupload.swf?preventswfcaching=1272512466022 use_query_string: false requeue_on_error: false http_success: assume_success_timeout: 0 file_post_name: Filedata post_params: [object Object] file_types: .jpg;.gif;.png;.bmp file_types_description: Image Files file_size_limit: 1MB file_upload_limit: 1 file_queue_limit: 1 debug: true prevent_swf_caching: true button_placeholder_id: file-1_swf button_placeholder: Not Set button_image_url: /content/images/blankButton.png button_width: 109 button_height: 22 button_text: button_text_style: color: #000000; font-size: 16pt; button_text_top_padding: 1 button_text_left_padding: 30 button_action: -110 button_disabled: false custom_settings: [object Object] Event Handlers: swfupload_loaded_handler assigned: true file_dialog_start_handler assigned: true file_queued_handler assigned: true file_queue_error_handler assigned: true upload_start_handler assigned: true upload_progress_handler assigned: true upload_error_handler assigned: true upload_success_handler assigned: true upload_complete_handler assigned: true debug_handler assigned: true SWF DEBUG: SWFUpload Init CompleteSWF DEBUG: SWF DEBUG: ----- SWF DEBUG OUTPUT ---- SWF DEBUG: Build Number: SWFUPLOAD 2.2.0 SWF DEBUG: movieName: SWFUpload_0 SWF DEBUG: Upload URL: /86707/listing/asynchronousuploadphoto/87085/15/E1ptdReNMwcU/cUkx4p689ChPRZYMKkLZQ== SWF DEBUG: File Types String: .jpg;.gif;.png;.bmp SWF DEBUG: Parsed File Types: jpg, gif, png, bmp SWF DEBUG: HTTP Success: 0 SWF DEBUG: File Types Description: Image Files (.jpg;.gif;.png;.bmp) SWF DEBUG: File Size Limit: 1048576 bytes SWF DEBUG: File Upload Limit: 1 SWF DEBUG: File Queue Limit: 1 SWF DEBUG: Post Params: SWF DEBUG: ----- END SWF DEBUG OUTPUT ---- SWF DEBUG: SWF DEBUG: Event: fileDialogStart : Browsing files. • Parsing a XML File and Replacing Chosen Node With Values From Text File

    - by transmogrify
    I wrote a C# Winforms program to take a XML file and load values from a text file into each occurrence of that field which the user specifies on the UI. For whatever reason, the program inserts a carriage return on any nodes which don't contain a value. For example, it will do that to <example></example> whereas it will not misbehave on something like <country>USA</country> What is causing it to do this and how can I prevent it? Here is the code from the part which handles this functionality. XmlDocument LoadXmlDoc = new XmlDocument(); StreamReader sr = File.OpenText(DataLoadTxtBx.Text); string InputFromTxtFile; LoadXmlDoc.Load(XmlPath.Text); XmlNodeList NodeToCreateOrReplace = LoadXmlDoc.GetElementsByTagName(XmlTagNameTxtBx.Text); foreach (XmlNode SelectedNode in NodeToCreateOrReplace) { if ((InputFromTxtFile = sr.ReadLine()) != null) { SelectedNode.InnerText = InputFromTxtFile; } } sr.Close(); LoadXmlDoc.Save(XmlPath.Text);

  • SFTP transfer file and move file to folder

    - by molecule
Hi all, This is my first post so please excuse my ignorance. I am using a vbscript to zip all .csv type files in a particular folder. After some google searches, I have found a workable vbscript to do this and have enabled a scheduled task to automate this. What I need to do next is to transfer the zip file via sftp and then "move" that zip file into another folder. I believe the former can be achieved using pscp.exe via command line but can someone show me how to do the latter? Basically the zipping will be done twice a day and so it will have a timestamp similar to yyyymmdd0900.zip (for 9am schedule) and yyyymmdd1800.zip (for 6pm schedule). After the transfer, I want to move (not copy) the zip file generated into another folder. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

  • Unable to connect SQL Server instance from Visual Studio 2008 Version 9.0

    - by salvationishere
I am getting the below error from VS on an 32-bit XP Professional server even though I set Tools-Options-Database Tools-Data Connections to "SIDEKICK", which is the name of my computer. In other words SIDEKICK should default to the full SQLSERVER. In other words, I want VS to use SQLSERVER instead of SQLSERVER EXPRESS. And I can clearly see my database both from VS in the Server Explorer and also in SSMS 2008. Furthermore, I can view the tables of this database in Server Explorer from VS. I do not get any build errors. And it looks like all of the naming is consistent in my web.config file. I am developing my website according to a Microsoft tutorial, so I should not be getting an error. Yet I get the following exception when I run this code below: CreateAccounts.aspx.cs file protected void CreateAccountButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { MembershipCreateStatus createStatus; //This line below is where the exception occurs MembershipUser newUser = Membership.CreateUser(Username.Text, Password.Text, Email.Text, passwordQuestion, SecurityAnswer.Text, true, out createStatus); And here is what the exception looks like: System.Web.HttpException was unhandled by user code Message="Unable to connect to SQL Server database." • Windows batch file to list folders that have a specific file in them

    - by Lee
I'm trying to create a file that has a list of directories that have a specific file name in them. Let's say I'm trying to find directories that have a file named *.joe in them. I initially tried just a simple dir /ad *.joe > dir_list.txt , but it searches the directory names for *.joe, so no go. Then I concluded that a for loop was probably my best bet. I started with for /d /r %a in ('dir *.joe /b') do @echo %a >> dir_list.txt and it looked like it wasn't executing the dir command. I added the "usebackq", but that seems to only work for the /F command extension. Ideas?

  • File location for config file to app installed to local user location

    - by user54064
I have a WinForm app that has inside of the app's config file locations to find files for the app to use as it runs. However, the app will be installed locally for each user so it can't be hard coded. For Vista and Windows 7 the installer puts the app in c:\users\\Documents area. Under Windows XP it puts it in a different location. How can I write the config file to use some sort of placeholder to be filled in at runtime with the specific user's information? I am just using the default areas that Windows wants to install a per-user install but need the config file to be flexible at runtime for the specific user.
