  • GridView will not update underlying data source

    So I'm been pounding on this problem all day. I've got a LinqDataSource that points to my model and a GridView that consumes it. When I attempt to do an update on the GridView, it does not update the underlying data source. I thought it might have to do with the LinqDataSource, so I added a SqlDataSource and the same thing happens.     Hi :) I'm developing a .NET app, which needs to run both on Azure and on regular Windows Servers(2003). It needs to store a few GB of data and SQL Azure is too expensive for me, so I'll use Azure tables in the cloud version. Can you recommend a storage solution, which will run on standalone servers and have an API and behavior similar to Azure tables? From what I've seen Server AppFabric does not include Tables. TIA

  • accessing required modules from other modules

    I have a bare-bone express application, exactly the one that is created with the express command. I have installed socket.io and attached it to my server, like this: var app = express(), server = http.createServer(app), io = io.listen(server); server.listen(8000); Now, I also have the routes files, which is called like this: app.get('/', routes.index); Inside this module I have the following function: exports.index = function(req, res){ socket.emit('news', { message: "foo" }); }; This obviously leads to a 500 reference error, because the routes file is an exportable module, and obviously has no idea what the socket is, as it is located in the app.js file. Is there a way I can access this socket object from this, or any other file? Please note that it is attached to the express generated app. extra: what about getting/setting session data?     Can anyone recommend a plugin or library that allows people to upload images which automatically gets cropped and resized? I don't mind editting some config files to specify how images should be cropped and resized. Additionally, after uploading, the front end user should be able to drag and drop for re-ordering. Can someone recommend something that works with php?

  • DNS resolve without depending on router for asterisk system

    Hello, Basically I have a Debian box running asterisk assigned an IP via DHCP with host-name XXX. My windows browser can resolve the host-name but if I use host-name in X-Lite or my SPA922 phone it fails to resolve. Is there any way of getting this to work without depending on the router or assigning a static IP (request is to make it portable). I was thinking zero-conf but am unsure (box has limited HDD too). Any help is most appreciated.

  • Lamda expression will not compile

    I am very confused I have this lamba expression tvPatientPrecriptionsEntities.Sort((p1, p2) => p1.MedicationStartDate.Value.CompareTo(p2.MedicationStartDate.Value)); Visual studio will not compile it and complains about syntax. I converted the lamba expression to an anonymous delegate as so tvPatientPrecriptionsEntities.Sort( delegate(PatientPrecriptionsEntity p1, PatientPrecriptionsEntity p2) { return p1.MedicationStartDate.Value.CompareTo(p2.MedicationStartDate.Value); } ); and it works fine. The project is uses the .net 3.5 framework and I have a reference to system.linq.

  • Why aren't operator conversions implicitly called for templated functions? (C++)

    I have the following code: template <class T> struct pointer { operator pointer<const T>() const; }; void f(pointer<const float>); template <typename U> void tf(pointer<const float>); void g() { pointer<float> ptr; f(ptr); tf(ptr); } When I compile the code with gcc 4.3.3 I get a message (aaa.cc:17: error: no matching function for call to ‘tf(pointer<float>&)’) indicating that the compiler called 'operator pointer<const T>' for the non-templated function f(), but didn't for the templated function tf(). Why and is there any workaround short of overloading tf() with a const and non-const version? Thanks in advance for any help.

  • AssemblyResolve event is not firing during compilation of a dynamic assembly for an aspx page.

    This one is really pissing me off. Here goes: My goal is to load assemblies at run-time that contain embedded aspx,ascx etc. What I would also like is to not lock the assembly file on disk so I can update it at run-time without having to restart the application (I know this will leave the previous version(s) loaded). To that end I have written a virtual path provider that does the trick. I have subscribed to the CurrentDomain.AssemblyResolve event so as to redirect the framework to my assemblies. The problem is that the when the framework tries to compile the dynamic assembly for the aspx page I get the following: Compiler Error Message: CS0400: The type or namespace name 'Pages' could not be found in the global namespace (are you missing an assembly reference?) Source Error: public class app_resource_pages__version_1_0_0_0__culture_neutral__publickeytoken_null_default_aspx : global::Pages._Default, System.Web.SessionState.IRequiresSessionState, System.Web.IHttpHandle I noticed that if I load the assembly with Assembly.Load(AssemblyName) or Assembly.LoadFrom(filename) I dont get the above error. If I load it with Assembly.Load(byte[]) (so as to not lock it), the exception is thrown but my AssemblyResolve handler, when called is returning the assembly correctly (it is called once). So I am guessing that it is called once when the framework parses the asp markup but not when it tries to create the dynamic assembly for the aspx page.

    I already have an express checkout integrated with my Codeigniter application. Now I want to integrate seamless paypal where I collect the CC information and pass it to Paypal (via backend) and once everything is approved, my application shows that to the user. All this with out ever going to Paypal's website. I know that Paypal gives a bunch of sample code but they have so many different products that advertise to do the same thing. Is there any wrapper library in PHP that I can use for handling all this? What sort of design decision is involved in migrating to such system? Would I need SSL certificates for this?

    Hi, Is there a way in CSS or JQuery where I can dynamically change the background of li tags so they get slightly lighter for each element until it gets to white. For example say I had a list of 10 li elements. The first would have a red (#ff0000) background, the next one would then be a lighter shade of red, and so on and so on until we got to the last one which would have a background of white (#FFFFFF) The list can be any length and i just want the background colour to go from one colour e.g. red to another colour e.g. white. My site uses JQuery so if I have to use that I don't mind. Thanks

  • Replicating iPhone Calendar View Lame?

    I am building an iPhone app that will need to display info primarily in a calendar view. Users will need to be able to search for entries and view them by day, month or in a list view. It seems like the built-in calendar type interface is ideal for my app. So I could build a similar calendar with 3 buttons at the bottom for list/day/month view as well as a button for today, in short a very similar interface to the built in iPhone calendar with different colors primarily. However, if I replicate it am I a) a lame copycat for replicating the built-in interface or smart for using a well-known iPhone metaphor and b) in danger of having my app rejected?

To keep things simple, the third quarter of 1995 (date my observations start) should be quarter -2, the fourth quarter of 1995 should be -1 etc etc uptill 2006 (should be somewhere around 45 by then).
