  • Alert Box Methods

    - by Vecta
    I just need a little advice on what may be the best method for handling my situation. I'm in need of placing three buttons in the sidebar of the website I maintain. The website is massive and hard to handle. Currently, it's all HTML files (there are over 10,000 of them believe it or not). We're transitioning to a database website so I don't want to make any sweeping changes that are site-wide, as they may just be scrapped in our re-design process in coming months. However, these buttons are for an application process. When you click on them, an alert box will need to pop up to give you a bit of information and they either allow you to cancel the action or proceed. The buttons are currently located in the left nav which is included on every page of the website. Would it be possible to accomplish this using JS or jQuery? I'd be unable to easily add scripts into the tags on all of the applicable pages, but I'd like to avoid the browser driven "http://www...Says: blah blah" message if possible. Any insight is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  • Union of two or more (hash)maps

    - by javierfp
    I have two Maps that contain the same type of Objects: Map<String, TaskJSO> a = new HashMap<String, TaskJSO>(); Map<String, TaskJSO> b = new HashMap<String, TaskJSO>(); public class TaskJSO { String id; } The map keys are the "id" properties. a.put(taskJSO.getId(), taskJSO); I want to obtain a list with: all values in "Map b" + all values in "Map a" that are not in "Map b". What is the fastest way of doing this operation? Thanks EDIT: The comparaison is done by id. So, two TaskJSOs are considered as equal if they have the same id (equals method is overrided). My intention is to know which is the fastest way of doing this operation from a performance point of view. For instance, is there any difference if I do the "comparaison" in a map (as suggested by Peter): Map<String, TaskJSO> ab = new HashMap<String, TaskJSO>(a); ab.putAll(b); ab.values() or if instead I use a set (as suggested by Nishant): Set s = new Hashset(); s.addAll(a.values()); s.addAll(b.values());

  • How to get radio button's id and convert to string?

    - by user3461659
    I am working in Android Studio and am trying to get the ID of the selected radio button and then store the ID in a string. Is this possible? I have tried replacing the .getText() method below with .getId() but it wont let me store it as a string: RadioGroup radioGroup = (RadioGroup) findViewById(R.id.radioGroup); radioGroup.setOnCheckedChangeListener(new RadioGroup.OnCheckedChangeListener() { @Override public void onCheckedChanged(RadioGroup radioGroup, int checkedId) { RadioButton checkedRadioButton = (RadioButton) findViewById(checkedId); String text = checkedRadioButton.getText().toString(); Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), text, Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } });

    - by trycatch4j
    Hi all, I have following numbers : 1, 2, 3, 4, 10 But I want to print those numbers like this: 0001 0002 0003 0004 0010 I have searched in Google. the keyword is number format. But I've got nothing, I just get, format decimal such ass 1,000,000.00. I hope you can suggest me a reference or give me something to solve this problem. Thanks Edit, we can use NumberFormat, or String.format("%4d", somevalue); but it just for adding 0 character before integer. How If I wanna use character such as x, # or maybe whitespace. So the character become: xxxx1 xxx10 or ####1 ###10 or 1#### 10###

  • JVM memory management & garbage collection book?

    - by Max
    Hi. Could anyone advice a book (or any other source) that would thoroughly reveal internals of JVM memory management & garbage collection (optimization, work, circular references, pecularities, discussions for various JVM impls...)? [What I've found so far are separate articles devoted to various aspects but no weighty tome :). Some good materials for Hotspot implementation are here. ] Thanks a lot for any advice you give.

  • Httpclient not returning entire response

    - by whakojacko
    Using HttpClient 4.0, Im having an issue where the response I get from the ResponseHandler is only about half of what the actual page content should be (~61k bytes in the string vs ~125k in the page returned to a browser). I cant seem to find any place where there might be some sort of limit that would limit this. Any ideas?

  • How do I "valueOf" an enum given a class name?

    - by stevemac
    Lets say I have a simple Enum called Animal defined as: public enum Animal { CAT, DOG } and I have a method like: private static Object valueOf(String value, Class<?> classType) { if (classType == String.class) { return value; } if (classType == Integer.class) { return Integer.parseInt(value); } if (classType == Long.class) { return Long.parseLong(value); } if (classType == Boolean.class) { return Boolean.parseBoolean(value); } // Enum resolution here } What can I put inside this method to return an instance of my enum where the value is of the classType? I have looked at trying: if (classType == Enum.class) { return Enum.valueOf((Class<Enum>)classType, value); } But that doesn't work.
