  • Library for parsing arguments GNU-style?

    I've noticed the basic 'style' of most GNU core applications whereby arguments are: --longoption --longoption=value or --longoption value -abcdefg (multiple options) -iuwww-data (option i, u = www-data) They follow the above style. I want to avoid writing an argument parser if there's a library that does this using the above style. Is there one you know of?

  • Visual C++ 6.0 Academic Edition, using MFC as a static library

    I need to compile some mfc code that was written using Visual C++ 6.0 many years ago. I was supposed to be able to choose New-Project-Win32 Application and then in Project-Settings choose "Using MFC as a static library." I'm using the AE version and this could be the reason that this option is not available. So far, the smaller programs compile using the "Use MFC as a shared dll", but I'd like to have or mimic the other option. Any suggestions?

I want to make some JavaBeans that were instantiated with jsp:useBean tags available to the Java code. What would be a good practice to do that?   • Suggestions for library to hash passwords in JAVA

    What JAVA library should I be using to Hash passwords for storage in a database? I was hoping to just take the plain text password, add a random salt, then store the salt and the hashed password in the database. Then when a user wanted to log in, I could just take their submitted password, add the random salt from their account information, hash it and see if it equates to the stored hash password with their account information.

    Hi, could someone recommend a PHP form validation library (that works independently outside of any php framework) that apart from doing all sort of basic validation (is empty, vs regex, is email, is alphanumeric and so on) can produce javascript code (ideally to work with jquery) to validate the very same form with the very same rules client-side and hence define validation rules in a single place and have a form validated both server and client side?   • Is there a java library equivalent to `file` command in unix

    Is there any java libraries that is similar to unix's command file? ie: $ file somepicture.png somepicture.png PNG image, 805 x 292, 8-bit/color RGB, non-interlaced The file command is such a nice tool. I need something that can tell me if the file is really what I want it to be. (ie a picture, document etc) I know I can run the command file, but I am looking for a java library, not running the actual unix command.

I'm trying to create a "simple" program that allows me to create a list of video files (Youtube video's to be precise) that are then run through by my program and converted any given format to pure MP3 audio. For this purpose I'm trying to use the BASS.dll and well it isn't going so well. I was wondering if anyone has used BASS to convert from one audio format to another? Also if there is built in functionality to .net that will do what I am trying to do I would much rather use that. And if you find any other problems with the code I would appreciate it.

    I'm looking for a library (or plugin) that help me create a slideshow where (besides the simple ordering of images) I'm able to define the beginning and ending positions (either X/Y, or Zooms) for a given image and the plugin animates the intervening steps between them. Flash has a number of tools/libs like this, i'm sure jQuery has seen similar. Ideally something that offers a range of easing effects as well. I understand these elements are native to jQuery...i'm looking for a time-tested wrapper. thx
