  I have this: [Display(Name = "Empresa")] public string Company{ get; set; } In my aspx I have: <th><%: Html.LabelFor(model => model.Company)%></th> And this generates: <th><label for="Company">Empresa</label></th> Are there any html helper extensions to only show the display attribute without label, only plain text? My desired output is this: <th>Empresa</th> Thanks! EDIT I tried DisplayFor or DisplayTextFor as suggested, but they are not valid because they generate: <th>Amazon</th> They return the value of the property... I want the name from the Display attribute.

  I have a test using Cucumber, capybara and selenium driver. This test should go to a form and submit it. The normal text would be Scenario: Fill form Given I am on the Form page When I fill in "field1" with "value1" And I fill in "field2" with "value2" And I press "OK" Then I should see "Form submited" The problem is that I don't have the OK button in the form I need a way to do the "form.submit", without clicking any button or link - the same as happens when you press ENTER when you are in a form field using the browser. I don't know how to tell capybara to submit a form. How can I do it?

• Modify an object without using it as parameter

  I have a global object "X" and a class "A". I need a function F in A which have the ability to modify the content of X. For some reason, X cannot be a data member of A (but A can contain some member Y as reference of X), and also, F cannot have any parameter, so I cannot pass X as an parameter into F. (Here A is an dialog and F is a slot without any parameter, such as accept() ) How can I modify X within F if I cannot pass X into it? Is there any way to let A know that "X" is the object it need to modify?? I try to add something such as SetItem to specify X in A, but failed.

• VIM: Close file without quiting VIM application?

  I am new to VIM. I use e and w commands to edit and to write a file. It is very convenient. I am not sure if there is "close" command to close the current file without leaving VIM? I know that q command can be used to close a file. But if it is the last file, the VIM is closed as well(actually on Mac the MacVIM does quit. Only the VIM window is closed and I could use Control-N to open a blank VIM again). I would like the VIM to stay with a blank screen.

  Hi I've checked out some typical open source project which is using auto-tools. I want to hack a bit on this package, but I would also like to change something in the man-page of the package. The man-page source is found project-name/doc/project-name.1. I just made a small change, and now I want to preview that change, without having to actually do a make install of the project. How do I do that? I tried stuff like: man -M . 1 project-name But it does not work, neither does the various variations I have tried. This sounds like a simple problem, but I can't seem to find anything by googling on the problem, so I'm hoping someone here can help me out. Thanks.

  Ive found out that you can serialize a wpf component, in my example a FixedDocument, using the XamlWriter and a MemoryStream: FixedDocument doc = GetDocument(); MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream(); XamlWriter.Save(doc, stream); And then to get it back: stream.Seek(0, SeekOrigin.Begin); FixedDocument result = (FixedDocument)XamlReader.Load(stream); return result; However, now I need to be able to serialize a DocumentPage as well. Which lacks a default constructor which makes the XamlReader.Load call throw an exception. Is there a way to serialize a wpf component without a default constructor?

  I know that there are other questions similar to this one, however the following question pertains to arbitrary-precision random number generation in C for use in Monte Carlo simulation. How can we generate good quality arbitrary-precision random numbers in C, when atmospheric noise isn't always available, without relying on disk i/o or network access that would create bottlenecks? libgmp is capable of generating random numbers, but, like other implementations of pseudo-random number generators, it requires a seed. As the manual mentions, "the system time is quite easy to guess, so if unpredictability is required then it should definitely not be the only source for the seed value." Is there a portable/ported library for generating random numbers, or seeds for random numbers? The libgmp also mentions that "On some systems there's a special device /dev/random which provides random data better suited for use as a seed." However, /dev/random and /dev/urandom can only be used on *nix systems.

  I have created a small search and filter form method post in controller/index, which posts to it self the conditions and fields to paginate ( $this-paginate($conditions) ) However that is good for the first page, the subsequent pages the filer conditions are lost. pagination passArgs supports get variables well. Is there an un complex way to pass the post conditions to the other paginated pages? The method I have looked at is pass the $conditions in session , which isnt without complexity of assigning session and unset the session on submitting the form again (more refinements to the filter criteria by the user ) The other method is passing the $conditions as serialized string url_encode as an get parameter. Is there an good cake way to do this more like passArgs, sessions and url encode do not look like cake style. Thanks

  I have to implement a one linked list but it should put object in appropriate position. Everything was OK when I use it in conjunction with specific class, but when I tried make it universal and argument of method insert was Object some problem appeared. When I want to input Object in right position I should use CompareTo method, but there isn't method in Object class! The problem is how to compare two object elements without known about their real types. Maybe I should use generic class type? But what about CompareTo? Or maybe combine with Element class and place CompareTo there?   How do I start validation from the client/javascript using the MS MVC Validation library? Using MS ASP.Net MVC, I have a page with a PartialView in a modal dialog (change password). When the user selects 'save', I need to validate this on the client side without a full page postback. I am able in JS to post and refresh the partialView, however I am unable to start client validation. The MS MVC validation starts on postback (Input type='submit'). How can I start this in JS? I'm using a timer to move these labels but the problem is that when i make the interval of this timer low (1-10 for example) the application takes very high percentage of CPU Usage, And when i make it higher(200 -500 ) the movement of the labels becomes intermittent or not smooth movement even that the user may not be able to read the news in Comfortable way.   Hello, I would like to run some tests on v8 with and without JIT to compare performances. I know JIT will improve my average speed performance, but it would be nice for me to have some actual more detailed tests results as I want to work with mobile platforms. I haven't found how to enable or disable JIT like it exists on Squirrelfish (cf. ENABLE_JIT in JavaScriptCore/wtf/Platform.h). Does somebody knows how to do that with v8? Thanks. Alexandre

  Hello, I have a List which contains a list of objects and I want to remove from this list all the elements which have the same values in two of their attributes. I had though about doing something like this: List<Class1> myList; .... Set<Class1> mySet = new HashSet<Class1>(); mySet.addAll(myList); and overriding hash method in Class1 so it returns a number which depends only in the attributes I want to consider. The problem is that I need to do a different filtering in another part of the application so I can't override hash method in this way (I would need two different hash methods). When the form is submitted, I need to run a PHP script without refreshing/leaving page "echo" or somehow print a return on the screen I'm pretty sure this works via some kind of ajax request thing. but I have no idea what I'm talking about. • Run a PHP-script from a PHP-script without blocking

  I'm building a spider which will traverse various sites and data mining them. Since I need to get each page separately this could take a VERY long time (maybe 100 pages). I've already set the set_time_limit to be 2 minutes per page but it seems like apache will kill the script after 5 minutes no matter. This isn't usually a problem since this will run from cron or something similar which does not have this time limit. However I would also like the admins to be able to start a fetch manually via a HTTP-interface. It is not important that apache is kept alive for the full duration, I'm, going to use AJAX to trigger a fetch and check back once in a while with AJAX. My problem is how to start the fetch from within a PHP-script without the fetch being terminated when the script calling it dies. Maybe I could use system('script.php &') but I'm not sure it will do the trick. Any other ideas?

  Hello, I have a small (500kb) swing applet that displays very simple/limited set of small HTML page(s) inside it with JEditorPane, however this does not seem to work 100% fluently, some customers get a blank page displayed without any java exceptions. The page works OK from my machine. I need a more reliable way to show HTML page to all our users. So overriding drawRect: in my container UIView will only draw below the subviews. Is there a way to overload drawRect: in my subview without subclassing it? I think method swizzling may be the answer, but I'm hoping not.   I'd like convert strings to floats using Python 2.6 and later, but without silently converting things like 'NaN' and 'Inf'. Before 2.6, float("NaN") would raise a ValueError. Now it returns a float for which math.isnan() returns True, which is not useful behaviour for my application. Here's what I've got at the moment: import math def get_floats(source): for text in source.split(): try: val = float(text) if math.isnan(val) or math.isinf(val): raise ValueError yield val except ValueError: pass This is a generator, which I can supply with strings containing whitespace-separated sequences representing real numbers. I'd like it to yield only those fields which are purely numeric representations of floats, as in "1.23" or "-34e6", but not for example "NaN" or "-Inf". Test case: assert list(get_floats('1.23 -34e6 NaN -Inf')) == [1.23, -34000000.0] Please suggest alternatives you consider more elegant, even if they involve "look before you leap" (which is normally considered a lesser approach in Python).
