  • a friendly elaboratation on how iceweasel misses as recent request was discovered in post tut

    - by v3x3n
    I would like to specify what you asked about in how iceweasel misses on in hopes that you are interested in considering the answer to be valid considering the package should run efficient to a novice user especially when getting a first impression on a new software, browser, or package they are given by default. First let me say that I am very grateful for all debian has and continues to do for its user base and I am not complaining, only hoping that in mentioning such it will eventually aid in improving the disappointing experience iceweasel gave me in multiple ways right from the start of using it. I am sure tremendous amounts of hard work went into making it work as well as it does, and tremendous effort continues to go into IW like the rest of the package and distros such as this... Having said that, I do aim to keep my examples simple as possible but also explained in enough detail as to not leave out important info to get a full idea of my issue... (Thanks for understanding if I sound novice to debian, I am but continue to learn and advance by trial and error each day, and of course the wonderful help from all the great minds available here and there)... Well, my bone to pick (unfortunately as I disdain being a complainer when so much has been done for us, the end user) with IW is mainly 3 immediately noticed problems in offering me a smooth test drive (completely normal browsing conduct of your average user, I should indicate) as soon as I started out a task using IW (heading directly to google images and searched for a few web sized images, then saved a few (no more than 800 to 900 in dimensions, typically a normal procedure I would imagine) I experienced a horrendous reoccurring freeze and lag time that almost left me to kill the process more than once on each attempt and continued to compound so that by a few attempts later, even 1 single image save locked up the entire browser, ultimately giving up on my procedure in its simplicity with a bit of aggravation, if there was something I had done wrong on my end pre-attempt or during installation. Secondly, visiting video player sites in this case youtube will not allow for any video feed to play whatsoever and again, experienced a slight freezing that eventually dissipated as long as I didn't attempt to press play or reload another video trial... Very annoying and possibly related to my first issue (which could rely on my own lack of knowledge in setup config, but that troubles me if so).... Lastly as another user has stated already, in which brought you to ask them what exactly seemed to be the problem in the first place is also my final straw that broke the weasel's back, leading me here to find a solution to a updated version of firefox... being that iceweasel (an apparent build of firefox 17.x.x) leaving the user to find themselves out of luck when installing their favorite or much useful add-ons or plugins that aid their task or normal usage online.... As the other user clearly stated... there is almost zero options and barely any luck to find compatible plugins with such an outdated version still being used... I can only imagine if as a novoice or standard user to linux... and beginner to debian (which I am all for btw!) if I am discovering major conductivity issues which hinder normal user conduct right off the bat... that there is probably a bundle or more of security vulnerabilities that would unravel to me if I continued to give mr Hommey's package any further attention, or interest in continuing to use... This is a deal breaker on any account, unless all 3 of these issues stated are due to a very n00berish setting or lack thereof (which if that is the case, such was not properly stated for beginner in any place available by following installation tutorials such as LVM installers, which I felt lacked a clear understanding to someone who is trying to learn why and how, rather than, a fix to a potentially broken out of box installation... I really think that is irrelevant in any case however, as there is much step by step support regarding that kind of thing, just saying... its very challenging, along side a job to keep deadlines on, and the need to learn a better and more costomizible system, that was not as popularized when I became a dev via windows (OK OK I know thats a huge mistake and now I am way off original topic but anyway) Thanks very much for taking the time to read over this, and I hope it honestly gives you a few good and valid reasons for users wanting and seeking a way to get around iceweasel altogether... Finally, if I am missing something vital that renders all I've stated invalid or useless, please feel free to shove that elephant in the room my direction! Thanks for all you do, as I am sure it is very useful and dedicated, being you are a debian maintainer, and super user! Much love for intelligence, freedom and sharing the secrets of the web! May it remain unregulated and a good place to grow and learn for generations to come! Stay true! Take care now! -v3x (v3x @ gmx .com)

  • WCF client endpoint identity - configuration question

    - by Roel
    Hi all, I'm having a strange situation here. I got it working, but I don't understand why. Situation is as follows: There is a WCF service which my application (a website) has to call. The WCF service exposes a netTcpBinding and requires Transport Security (Windows). Client and server are in the same domain, but on different servers. So generating a client results in the following config (mostly defaults) <system.serviceModel> <bindings> <netTcpBinding> <binding name="MyTcpEndpoint" ...> <reliableSession ordered="true" inactivityTimeout="00:10:00" enabled="false" /> <security mode="Transport"> <transport clientCredentialType="Windows" protectionLevel="EncryptAndSign"/> <message clientCredentialType="Windows" /> </security> </binding> </netTcpBinding> </bindings> <client> <endpoint address="net.tcp://localhost:xxxxx/xxxx/xxx/1.0" binding="netTcpBinding" bindingConfiguration="MyTcpEndpoint" contract="Service.IMyService" name="TcpEndpoint"/> </client> </system.serviceModel> When I run the website and make the call to the service, I get the following error: System.ServiceModel.Security.SecurityNegotiationException: Either the target name is incorrect or the server has rejected the client credentials. ---> System.Security.Authentication.InvalidCredentialException: Either the target name is incorrect or the server has rejected the client credentials. ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The logon attempt failed --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Net.Security.NegoState.EndProcessAuthentication(IAsyncResult result) at System.Net.Security.NegotiateStream.EndAuthenticateAsClient(IAsyncResult asyncResult) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.WindowsStreamSecurityUpgradeProvider.WindowsStreamSecurityUpgradeInitiator.InitiateUpgradeAsyncResult.OnCompleteAuthenticateAsClient(IAsyncResult result) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.StreamSecurityUpgradeInitiatorAsyncResult.CompleteAuthenticateAsClient(IAsyncResult result) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- Server stack trace: at System.ServiceModel.AsyncResult.End[TAsyncResult](IAsyncResult result) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel.SendAsyncResult.End(SendAsyncResult result) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel.EndCall(String action, Object[] outs, IAsyncResult result) .... Now, if I just alter the configuration of the client like so: <endpoint address="net.tcp://localhost:xxxxx/xxxx/xxx/1.0" binding="netTcpBinding" bindingConfiguration="MyTcpEndpoint" contract="Service.IMyService" name="TcpEndpoint"> <identity> <dns /> </identity> </endpoint> everything works and my server happily reports that it got called by the service account which hosts the AppPool for my website. All good. My question now is: why does this work? What does this do? I got to this solution by mere trial-and-error. To me it seems that all the <dns /> tag does is tell the client to use the default DNS for authentication, but doesn't it do that anyway? Thanks for providing me with some insight.

  • Error Installing COM+ (Error Code: 80131501)

    - by Regina Foo
    I've written a class library that reads from an xml file and return the result as a string. But when I want to install it as a COM+ component, an error occurred (Error Code: 80131501). I checked the event log and the details of the error is: Installation of 'C:\Users\User\Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\InteropSOA\InteropSOA\bin\Debug\InteropSOA.dll' into '{28E82165-AD74-4E16-90C9-0C5CE7DA97AA}' failed with an exception: System.EnterpriseServices.RegistrationException: FATAL: Could not find component 'InteropSOA.ConfigReader' we just installed. at System.EnterpriseServices.RegistrationDriver.InstallAssembly(RegistrationConfig regConfig, Object obSync) at System.EnterpriseServices.RegistrationHelper.InstallAssemblyFromConfig(RegistrationConfig& regConfig) at System.EnterpriseServices.RegistrationHelper.InstallAssembly(String assembly, String& application, String partition, String& tlb, InstallationFlags installFlags) at System.EnterpriseServices.Internal.ComManagedImportUtil.InstallAssembly(String asmpath, String parname, String appname) Below are the steps I've done while developing the class library: Added "System.EnterpriseServices" to Reference. Imported the reference to the class. Declared the class as "ServicedComponent". Set project properties ("Make assembly COM-visible" checked, "Register for COM Interop" checked, Signed the assembly with a strong key file name.) • Implements EAN13 and UPC-A barcode in PDF using fpdf in classic ASP

    - by Jeremy N
    /* FPDF library for ASP can be downloaded from: http://www.aspxnet.it/public/default.asp INFORMATIONS: Translated by: Jeremy Author: Olivier License: Freeware DESCRIPTION: This script implements EAN13 and UPC-A barcodes (the second being a particular case of the first one). • How to run Spring 3.0 PetClinic in tomcat with Hibernate backed JPA

    - by Zwei Steinen
    OK, this probably is supposed to be the easiest thing in the world, but I've been trying for the entire day, and it's still not working.. Any help is highly appreciated! What I did: Downloaded Tomcat 6.0.26 & Spring 3.0.1 Downloaded PetClinic from https://src.springframework.org/svn/spring-samples/petclinic Built & deployed petclinic.war. Ran fine with default TopLink persistence. Edited webapps/WEB-INF/spring/applicationContext-jpa.xml and changed jpaVendorAdaptor from TopLink to Hibernate. Edited webapps/WEB-INF/web.xml and changed context-param from applicationContext-jdbc.xml to applicationContext-jpa.xml Copied everything in the Spring 3.0.1 distribution to TOMCAT_HOME/lib. Launched tomcat. Saw Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: ClassLoader [org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader] does NOT provide an 'addTransformer(ClassFileTransformer)' method. Specify a custom LoadTimeWeaver or start your Java virtual machine with Spring's agent: -javaagent:spring-agent.jar Uncommented line <Loader loaderClass="org.springframework.instrument.classloading.tomcat.TomcatInstrumentableClassLoader"/> in webapps/META-INF/context.xml. Same error. Added that line to TOMCAT_HOME/context.xml Deployed without error. However, when I do something it will issue an error saying java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/transaction/SystemException at org.hibernate.ejb.EntityManagerFactoryImpl.createEntityManager(EntityManagerFactoryImpl.java:39) at org.hibernate.ejb.EntityManagerFactoryImpl.createEntityManager(EntityManagerFactoryImpl.java:34) at org.springframework.orm.jpa.JpaTransactionManager.createEntityManagerForTransaction(JpaTransactionManager.java:400) at org.springframework.orm.jpa.JpaTransactionManager.doBegin(JpaTransactionManager.java:321) at org.springframework.transaction.support.AbstractPlatformTransactionManager.getTransaction(AbstractPlatformTransactionManager.java:371) at org.springframework.transaction.interceptor.TransactionAspectSupport.createTransactionIfNecessary(TransactionAspectSupport.java:336) at org.springframework.transaction.interceptor.TransactionInterceptor.invoke(TransactionInterceptor.java:102) at org.springframework.aop.framework.ReflectiveMethodInvocation.proceed(ReflectiveMethodInvocation.java:172) at org.springframework.aop.framework.JdkDynamicAopProxy.invoke(JdkDynamicAopProxy.java:202) at $Proxy34.findOwners(Unknown Source) at org.springframework.samples.petclinic.web.FindOwnersForm.processSubmit(FindOwnersForm.java:56) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.springframework.web.bind.annotation.support.HandlerMethodInvoker.doInvokeMethod(HandlerMethodInvoker.java:710) at org.springframework.web.bind.annotation.support.HandlerMethodInvoker.invokeHandlerMethod(HandlerMethodInvoker.java:167) at org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.annotation.AnnotationMethodHandlerAdapter.invokeHandlerMethod(AnnotationMethodHandlerAdapter.java:414) at org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.annotation.AnnotationMethodHandlerAdapter.handle(AnnotationMethodHandlerAdapter.java:402) at org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet.doDispatch(DispatcherServlet.java:771) at org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet.doService(DispatcherServlet.java:716) at org.springframework.web.servlet.FrameworkServlet.processRequest(FrameworkServlet.java:647) at org.springframework.web.servlet.FrameworkServlet.doGet(FrameworkServlet.java:552) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:617) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:717) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:290) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206) at org.springframework.web.filter.HiddenHttpMethodFilter.doFilterInternal(HiddenHttpMethodFilter.java:71) at org.springframework.web.filter.OncePerRequestFilter.doFilter(OncePerRequestFilter.java:76) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:235) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke(StandardWrapperValve.java:233) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContextValve.invoke(StandardContextValve.java:191) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHostValve.invoke(StandardHostValve.java:127) at org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:102) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngineValve.invoke(StandardEngineValve.java:109) at org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:298) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Processor.process(Http11Processor.java:852) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Protocol$Http11ConnectionHandler.process(Http11Protocol.java:588) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.JIoEndpoint$Worker.run(JIoEndpoint.java:489) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.transaction.SystemException at org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.loadClass(WebappClassLoader.java:1516) at org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.loadClass(WebappClassLoader.java:1361) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:320) ... 41 more I feel silly.. • How to read from path in wpf comboboxitem and write into path of binding

    - by Chrik
    Hi, I tried to make up an example to show my problem. My combobox has a list of objects as itemssource. In my example it's a list of Persons. In the combobox i want to show the first name and the last name of the person. But i want to save the last name of the person in the "owner" property of the house-object. My guess was that i bind the SelectedValue to my property and the SelectedValuePath to the name of the property in the comboboxitem. I already googled and tried a view other versions but nothing worked. If i use SelectedItem instead of SelectedValue with the same binding at least the value of the "tostring" function get's written in the property. Sadly that solution doesn't fit in the Rest of my Program because i don't want to override "ToString". The Xaml: <Window x:Class="MultiColumnCombobox.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300" x:Name="window"> <Grid> <ComboBox Height="23" Margin="72,12,86,0" Name="ComboBox1" VerticalAlignment="Top" SelectedValue="{Binding CurrentHouse.Owner, ElementName=window, Mode=TwoWay}" SelectedValuePath="LastName" ItemsSource="{Binding PersonList, ElementName=window, Mode=Default}"> <ComboBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <WrapPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=FirstName}" Padding="10,0,0,0" /> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=LastName}" Padding="10,0,0,0" /> </WrapPanel> </DataTemplate> </ComboBox.ItemTemplate> </ComboBox> <Button Height="23" Click="PrintButton_Click" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="12,0,0,9" Name="PrintButton" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Width="75">Print</Button> </Grid> The C# using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Windows; using System; namespace MultiColumnCombobox { public partial class Window1 : Window { private List _PersonList = new List(); public List PersonList { get { return _PersonList; } set { _PersonList = value; } } private House _CurrentHouse = new House { Owner = "Green", Number = "11" }; public House CurrentHouse { get { return _CurrentHouse; } } public Window1() { InitializeComponent(); PersonList.Add(new Person {FirstName = "Peter", LastName = "Smith"}); PersonList.Add(new Person {FirstName = "John", LastName = "Meyer"}); PersonList.Add(new Person {FirstName = "Fritz", LastName = "Green"}); } private void PrintButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show(CurrentHouse.Owner + ":" + CurrentHouse.Number); } } public class House { public string Owner { get; set; } public string Number { get; set; } } public class Person { public string FirstName { get; set; } public string LastName { get; set; } } } Maybe someone has an idea, Christian

    I have installed XAAMP on my win7 machine and I have the apache server/mysql running on there. • FluentNHibernate Unit Of Work / Repository Design Pattern Questions

    - by Echiban
    Hi all, I think I am at a impasse here. I have an application I built from scratch using FluentNHibernate (ORM) / SQLite (file db). I have decided to implement the Unit of Work and Repository Design pattern. I am at a point where I need to think about the end game, which will start as a WPF windows app (using MVVM) and eventually implement web services / ASP.Net as UI. Now I already created domain objects (entities) for ORM. And now I don't know how should I use it outside of ORM. Questions about it include: Should I use ORM entity objects directly as models in MVVM? If yes, do I put business logic (such as certain values must be positive and be greater than another Property) in those entity objects? It is certainly the simpler approach, and one I am leaning right now. However, will there be gotchas that would trash this plan? If the answer above is no, do I then create a new set of classes to implement business logic and use those as Models in MVVM? How would I deal with the transition between model objects and entity objects? I guess a type converter implementation would work well here. Now I followed this well written article to implement the Unit Of Work pattern. However, due to the fact that I am using FluentNHibernate instead of NHibernate, I had to bastardize the implementation of UnitOfWorkFactory. Here's my implementation: using System; using FluentNHibernate.Cfg; using FluentNHibernate.Cfg.Db; using NHibernate; using NHibernate.Cfg; using NHibernate.Tool.hbm2ddl; namespace ELau.BlindsManagement.Business { public class UnitOfWorkFactory : IUnitOfWorkFactory { private static readonly string DbFilename; private static Configuration _configuration; private static ISession _currentSession; private ISessionFactory _sessionFactory; static UnitOfWorkFactory() { // arbitrary default filename DbFilename = "defaultBlindsDb.db3"; } internal UnitOfWorkFactory() { } #region IUnitOfWorkFactory Members public ISession CurrentSession { get { if (_currentSession == null) { throw new InvalidOperationException(ExceptionStringTable.Generic_NotInUnitOfWork); } return _currentSession; } set { _currentSession = value; } } public ISessionFactory SessionFactory { get { if (_sessionFactory == null) { _sessionFactory = BuildSessionFactory(); } return _sessionFactory; } } public Configuration Configuration { get { if (_configuration == null) { Fluently.Configure().ExposeConfiguration(c => _configuration = c); } return _configuration; } } public IUnitOfWork Create() { ISession session = CreateSession(); session.FlushMode = FlushMode.Commit; _currentSession = session; return new UnitOfWorkImplementor(this, session); } public void DisposeUnitOfWork(UnitOfWorkImplementor adapter) { CurrentSession = null; UnitOfWork.DisposeUnitOfWork(adapter); } #endregion public ISession CreateSession() { return SessionFactory.OpenSession(); } public IStatelessSession CreateStatelessSession() { return SessionFactory.OpenStatelessSession(); } private static ISessionFactory BuildSessionFactory() { ISessionFactory result = Fluently.Configure() .Database( SQLiteConfiguration.Standard .UsingFile(DbFilename) ) .Mappings(m => m.FluentMappings.AddFromAssemblyOf<UnitOfWorkFactory>()) .ExposeConfiguration(BuildSchema) .BuildSessionFactory(); return result; } private static void BuildSchema(Configuration config) { // this NHibernate tool takes a configuration (with mapping info in) // and exports a database schema from it _configuration = config; new SchemaExport(_configuration).Create(false, true); } } } I know that this implementation is flawed because a few tests pass when run individually, but when all tests are run, it would fail for some unknown reason. Whoever wants to help me out with this one, given its complexity, please contact me by private message. I am willing to send some $$$ by Paypal to someone who can address the issue and provide solid explanation. I am new to ORM, so any assistance is appreciated.

  • "'0.offsetWidth' is null or not an object" - Coda Slider - Javascript Error Question

    - by bgadoci
    I implemented the Coda Slider tutorial successfully that is located here: http://jqueryfordesigners.com/coda-slider-effect/ The slider works great but I am getting a javascript error that I am not sure how to fix. The error says: '0.offsetWidth' is null or not an object coda-slider.js, line 19 character 3 Not sure how to fix it. Anyone have any ideas? Here is my js and css (don't think I need to upload the HTML but let me know if that helps). JS (coda-slider.js) // when the DOM is ready... $(document).ready(function () { var $panels = $('#slider .scrollContainer > div'); var $container = $('#slider .scrollContainer'); // if false, we'll float all the panels left and fix the width // of the container var horizontal = true; // float the panels left if we're going horizontal if (horizontal) { $panels.css({ 'float' : 'left', 'position' : 'relative' // IE fix to ensure overflow is hidden }); // calculate a new width for the container (so it holds all panels) $container.css('width', $panels[0].offsetWidth * $panels.length); <------line 19 } // collect the scroll object, at the same time apply the hidden overflow // to remove the default scrollbars that will appear var $scroll = $('#slider .scroll').css('overflow', 'hidden'); // apply our left + right buttons $scroll .before('<img class="scrollButtons left" src="/images/layout/navigation/scroll_left.png" />') .after('<img class="scrollButtons right" src="/images/layout/navigation/scroll_right.png" />'); // handle nav selection function selectNav() { $(this) .parents('ul:first') .find('a') .removeClass('selected') .end() .end() .addClass('selected'); } $('#slider .navigation').find('a').click(selectNav); // go find the navigation link that has this target and select the nav function trigger(data) { var el = $('#slider .navigation').find('a[href$="' + data.id + '"]').get(0); selectNav.call(el); } if (window.location.hash) { trigger({ id : window.location.hash.substr(1) }); } else { $('ul.navigation a:first').click(); } // offset is used to move to *exactly* the right place, since I'm using // padding on my example, I need to subtract the amount of padding to // the offset. Try removing this to get a good idea of the effect var offset = parseInt((horizontal ? $container.css('paddingTop') : $container.css('paddingLeft')) || 0) * -1; var scrollOptions = { target: $scroll, // the element that has the overflow // can be a selector which will be relative to the target items: $panels, navigation: '.navigation a', // selectors are NOT relative to document, i.e. make sure they're unique prev: 'img.left', next: 'img.right', // allow the scroll effect to run both directions axis: 'xy', onAfter: trigger, // our final callback offset: offset, // duration of the sliding effect duration: 500, // easing - can be used with the easing plugin: // http://gsgd.co.uk/sandbox/jquery/easing/ easing: 'swing' }; // apply serialScroll to the slider - we chose this plugin because it // supports// the indexed next and previous scroll along with hooking // in to our navigation. $('#slider').serialScroll(scrollOptions); // now apply localScroll to hook any other arbitrary links to trigger // the effect $.localScroll(scrollOptions); // finally, if the URL has a hash, move the slider in to position, // setting the duration to 1 because I don't want it to scroll in the // very first page load. • Debugging matchit plugin in vim (under Cygwin)

    - by system PAUSE
    The "matchit" plugin for vim is supposed to allow you to use the % key to jump between matching start/end tags when editing HTML, as well as /* and */ comment delimiters when editing other kinds of code. I've followed the exact instructions in ":help matchit", but % still doesn't work for me. It seems silly to ask "Why doesn't this work?" so instead I'm asking How can I diagnose the problem? • Delphi - WndProc() in thread never called

    - by Robert Oschler
    I had code that worked fine when running in the context of the main VCL thread. This code allocated it's own WndProc() in order to handle SendMessage() calls. I am now trying to move it to a background thread because I am concerned that the SendMessage() traffic is affecting the main VCL thread adversely. So I created a worker thread with the sole purpose of allocating the WndProc() in its thread Execute() method to ensure that the WndProc() existed in the thread's execution context. The WndProc() handles the SendMessage() calls as they come in. The problem is that the worker thread's WndProc() method is never triggered. Note, doExecute() is part of a template method that is called by my TThreadExtended class which is a descendant of Delphi's TThread. TThreadExtended implements the thread Execute() method and calls doExecute() in a loop. I triple-checked and doExecute() is being called repeatedly. Also note that I call PeekMessage() right after I create the WndProc() in order to make sure that Windows creates a message queue for the thread. However something I am doing is wrong since the WndProc() method is never triggered. Here's the code below: // ========= BEGIN: CLASS - TWorkerThread ======================== constructor TWorkerThread.Create; begin FWndProcHandle := 0; inherited Create(false); end; // --------------------------------------------------------------- // This call is the thread's Execute() method. procedure TWorkerThread.doExecute; var Msg: TMsg; begin // Create the WndProc() in our thread's context. if FWndProcHandle = 0 then begin FWndProcHandle := AllocateHWND(WndProc); // Call PeekMessage() to make sure we have a window queue. PeekMessage(Msg, FWndProcHandle, 0, 0, PM_NOREMOVE); end; if Self.Terminated then begin // Get rid of the WndProc(). myDeallocateHWnd(FWndProcHandle); end; // Sleep a bit to avoid hogging the CPU. Sleep(5); end; // --------------------------------------------------------------- procedure TWorkerThread.WndProc(Var Msg: TMessage); begin // THIS CODE IS NEVER CALLED. try if Msg.Msg = WM_COPYDATA then begin // Is LParam assigned? if (Msg.LParam > 0) then begin // Yes. Treat it as a copy data structure. with PCopyDataStruct(Msg.LParam)^ do begin ... // Here is where I do my work. end; end; // if Assigned(Msg.LParam) then end; // if Msg.Msg = WM_COPYDATA then finally Msg.Result := 1; end; // try() end; // --------------------------------------------------------------- procedure TWorkerThread.myDeallocateHWnd(Wnd: HWND); var Instance: Pointer; begin Instance := Pointer(GetWindowLong(Wnd, GWL_WNDPROC)); if Instance <> @DefWindowProc then begin // Restore the default windows procedure before freeing memory. SetWindowLong(Wnd, GWL_WNDPROC, Longint(@DefWindowProc)); FreeObjectInstance(Instance); end; DestroyWindow(Wnd); end; // --------------------------------------------------------------- // ========= END : CLASS - TWorkerThread ======================== Thanks, Robert

  • ASP.NET MVC jquery.UI dialog - How to validate the dialog's input on server and return error?

    - by Rick
    I am using jQuery1.4.2, ASP.NET MVC 2 and jQuery.UI-1.8. I am creating a data input dialog which works OK when all the data is valid, but I want to validate the input data on the server and return an error to the dialog describing the error and I am not quite sure how to do that and keep the dialog open. The dialog is opened when a link is clicked. The solution may be to try to bypass more of the MVC framework's default binding that handles the submit button clicks and creates the expected ProfilePermission object and calls the Controller's AddPermission POST Action method, but I was hoping there may be an easier way without have to write more jquery/javascript code to handle the button clicks and pass the data to the server. My script code looks like $("#dialog").dialog({ modal: true, position: ['center', 180], width: 500, height: 130, autoOpen: false }); $(".addPermissionDialog").click(function (event) { event.preventDefault(); $("#dialog").dialog('open'); return false; }); My View <div id="dialog" title="Add Permission"> <%: Html.ValidationSummary("") %> <% using (Html.BeginForm("AddPermission", "Profile")) { %> <%: Html.Hidden("PersonId") %> <%: Html.Hidden("ProfileId") %> <div class="editor-label"> <label for="PersonName">User Name:</label> <%: Html.TextBox("PersonName")%> <label for="PermissionType">Permission:</label> <select name="PermissionTypeId" id="PermissionTypeId" > <option value="2">Edit</option> <option value="3">View</option> </select> </div> <br /> <p> <input type="submit" name="saveButton" value="Add Permission" /> <input type="submit" id="cancelButton" name="cancelButton" value="Cancel" /> <script type="text/javascript"> document.getElementById("cancelButton").disableValidation = true; </script> </p> <% } %> </div> <br /> <p> <%: Html.ActionLink("Add Permission", "AddPermission", new { profileId = Model.First().ProfileId }, new { @class = "addPermissionDialog" })%> </p> My Controller action [AcceptVerbs("Post")] [HandleError] public ActionResult AddPermission(string cancelButton, ProfilePermission profilePermission) { ViewData["Controller"] = controllerName; ViewData["CurrentCategory"] = "AddPermission"; ViewData["ProfileId"] = profilePermission.ProfileId; PermissionTypes permission = repository.GetAccessRights(profilePermission.ProfileId); if (permission == PermissionTypes.View || permission == PermissionTypes.None) { ViewData["Message"] = "You do not have access rights (Edit or Owner permissions) to this profile"; return View("Error"); } // If cancel return to previous page if (cancelButton != null) { return RedirectToAction("ManagePermissions", new { profileId = profilePermission.ProfileId }); } if (ModelState.IsValid) { repository.SavePermission(profilePermission); return RedirectToAction("ManagePermissions", new { profileId = profilePermission.ProfileId }); } // IF YOU GET HERE THERE WAS AN ERROR return PartialView(profilePermission); // The desire is to redisplay the dialog with error message }

  • OpenGL/SharpGL - Points only on -near surface of Ortho projection?

    - by FTLPhysicsGuy
    When you create points using three dimensions for each point and you use an Ortho projection to view the points, would there be a reason that only the points on the -near surface would appear? For example, if you use (the SharpGL method) gl.Ortho(0, width, height, 0, -10, 10), only the points at z=10 (because the near surface is at -10) actually show up. I'm currently using SharpGL - but I'm hoping the issue I'm having isn't with that particular implementation/library. EDIT: I'm adding the code below that demonstrates the issue. Note that this example requires SharpGL and is in fact a modification of a WPF sample project that comes with the current SharpGL source code (the original sample project is called TwoDSample). The project requires a MainWindow.xaml and a MainWindow.xaml.cs. Here's the xaml: <Window x:Class="TwoDSample.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525" xmlns:my="clr-namespace:SharpGL.WPF;assembly=SharpGL.WPF"> <Grid> <my:OpenGLControl Name="openGLControl1" OpenGLDraw="openGLControl1_OpenGLDraw" OpenGLInitialized="openGLControl1_OpenGLInitialized" Resized="openGLControl1_Resized"/> </Grid> </Window> Here is the code behind: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Controls; using System.Windows.Data; using System.Windows.Documents; using System.Windows.Input; using System.Windows.Media; using System.Windows.Media.Imaging; using System.Windows.Navigation; using System.Windows.Shapes; using SharpGL.Enumerations; namespace TwoDSample { /// <summary> /// Interaction logic for MainWindow.xaml /// </summary> public partial class MainWindow : Window { public MainWindow() { InitializeComponent(); } // NOTE: I use this to restrict the openGLControl1_OpenGLDraw method to // drawing only once after m_drawCount is set to zero; int m_drawCount = 0; private void openGLControl1_OpenGLDraw(object sender, SharpGL.SceneGraph.OpenGLEventArgs args) { // NOTE: Only draw once after m_drawCount is set to zero if (m_drawCount < 1) { // Get the OpenGL instance. var gl = args.OpenGL; gl.Color(1f, 0f, 0f); gl.PointSize(2.0f); // Draw 10000 random points. gl.Begin(BeginMode.Points); Random random = new Random(); for (int i = 0; i < 10000; i++) { double x = 10 + 400 * random.NextDouble(); double y = 10 + 400 * random.NextDouble(); double z = (double)random.Next(-10, 0); // Color the point according to z value gl.Color(0f, 0f, 1f); // default to blue if (z == -10) gl.Color(1f, 0f, 0f); // Red for z = -10 else if (z == -1) gl.Color(0f, 1f, 0f); // Green for z = -1 gl.Vertex(x, y, z); } gl.End(); m_drawCount++; } } private void openGLControl1_OpenGLInitialized(object sender, SharpGL.SceneGraph.OpenGLEventArgs args) { } private void openGLControl1_Resized(object sender, SharpGL.SceneGraph.OpenGLEventArgs args) { // NOTE: force the draw routine to happen again when resize occurs m_drawCount = 0; // Get the OpenGL instance. var gl = args.OpenGL; // Create an orthographic projection. gl.MatrixMode(MatrixMode.Projection); gl.LoadIdentity(); // NOTE: Basically no matter what I do, the only points I see are those at // the "near" surface (with z = -zNear)--in this case, I only see green points gl.Ortho(0, openGLControl1.ActualWidth, openGLControl1.ActualHeight, 0, 1, 10); // Back to the modelview. gl.MatrixMode(MatrixMode.Modelview); } } }

  • Own DataFormWebPart: Unable to display this Web Part.

    - by user307852
    Hi, What I want is to display a paginable list from my custom data source. All came from the fact that I needed some logical relationships between seach scopes and some dates. I considered ContentQueryWebpart, but CAML is too complicated as I have plenty of different conditions, CoreResults webpart is too limited as it uses KeyWordQuery so I inherited from DataFormWebPart to display my own custom search results from my own custom xml source. Thats the best way i am aware of... I knew I needed some configuration to write in my pageLayout like MyWebParts:MyCustomWebPart etc so I went to Designer, put DataFormWebPart on a page, linked it to list of pages, and set multiple item view and that gave me some configuration.. Firstly i checked if DataFormWebPart works when put on pageLayout and it sucessfully displayed my pages list in pages library. But that was not what I wanted, i needed to set my own XML data source... I then changed the configuration of WebPartPages:DataFormWebPart to match mine and detach from any listName or listId and I change the XSL tag to much simplier to display all results and now I am getting: Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this Web page in a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible HTML editor such as Microsoft SharePoint Designer. If the problem persists, contact your Web server administrator. and there is no way to know what is wrong:/ The webpart public class MyCustomWebPart : DataFormWebPart{ public override void DataBind() { ...... • ASP.NET 3.5/C# Menu Control in Master Page fails to use CSS styles

    - by Shaun
    I'm working on a web application that uses ASP.NET 3.5 and C#. Structurally, I have a master page with a menu control on it. The control serves as my navigation, and it gets its items from a SiteMapDataSource control and a corresponding Web.sitemap file. The problem is that some styles do not render properly when you specify the CssClass property. More specifically, the selected and hover styles don't respond to css styles. Consider the code below: <%@ Master Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Site.master.cs" Inherits="Site" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.or/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head runat="server"> <title>A webpage</title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div id="page"> <asp:Menu ID="navMenu" Orientation="Horizontal" StaticMenuStyle-CssClass="staticMenu" StaticMenuItemStyle-CssClass="staticMenuItem" StaticSelectedStyle-CssClass="staticSelectedItem" StaticHoverStyle-CssClass="staticHoverItem" runat="server"> </asp:Menu> <asp:SiteMapDataSource ID="srcSiteMap" runat="server" ShowStartingNode="false" /> <br /> <asp:ContentPlaceHolder id="ContentPlaceHolder1" runat="server"> </asp:ContentPlaceHolder> </div> </form> </body> </html> Suppose I had a corresponding .css file with the following: .staticMenuItem { background-color:Red; } .staticSelectedItem { background-color:Green; } .staticHoverItem { background-color:Blue; } What will happen is that my item backgrounds will properly be red, but my selected item will not be green and the item I'm hovering my mouse over will not be blue. This seems true regardless of whether or not I include the style in the head of the master page or in an external file in default theme as specified in the web.config file. If I specify the styles in the asp.net xml like so: <asp:Menu ID="navMenu" Orientation="Horizontal" runat="server"> <StaticSelectedStyle BackColor="Green" Font-Underline="True" Font-Bold="True" /> <StaticHoverStyle BackColor="Gray" /> </asp:Menu> It appears to work properly in Firefox, but the style is never embedded in the html in Internet Explorer. Odd. Does anybody have any insight into what is causing this problem and how to neatly work around it? I'm aware I might be able to programmically determine the current page and select the corresponding menu item manually so it receives the proper style class, but before I resort to hacking C# and Javascript together to fix this functionality, I'm open to ideas. Thanks!

  • Apache2 VirtualHost Configuration with SSL

    - by Peter
    Hello! I'm new here and I have a strange problem which needs to be solved. Previously I searched in the whole forum and I've read all of related questions but I didn't find solution to my question. We have two servers and a firewall computer. On the Server#1 there is an Apache 2.2 web server and it forwards the incoming traffic to the appropriate ports, to our subdomains by its virtual host configuration (Apache, Tomcat, IIS, Server#2 and so on). We recently bought an SSL certificate to protect one of our subdomain. I successfully installed and configured the certificate into the Apache and it works flawlessly within our local network. Our Kerio Winroute Firewall is configured to permit https traffic and it is translated to Server#1. But all of our subdomains are unavailable from outside (http & https too). Web browser shows "Failed to connect" message. Now, I enclose some parts from our httpd.conf and httpd-vhosts.conf file. httpd.conf ServerRoot "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2" Listen 80 ServerName dev.mydomain.hu:80 DocumentRoot "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/htdocs" LoadModule proxy_module modules/mod_proxy.so LoadModule proxy_connect_module modules/mod_proxy_connect.so LoadModule proxy_http_module modules/mod_proxy_http.so LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so LoadModule ssl_module modules/mod_ssl.so Include conf/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf <IfModule ssl_module> SSLMutex default SSLRandomSeed startup builtin SSLRandomSeed connect builtin SSLSessionCache none </IfModule> httpd-vhosts.conf NameVirtualHost *:80 NameVirtualHost *:443 Listen 443 <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/htdocs" ServerName localhost </VirtualHost> #-------EXCHANGE SERVER-------- <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName intra.mydomain.hu ProxyRequests Off ProxyVia On ProxyPass / http://myserver:8080/ ProxyPassReverse / http://myserver:8080/ <Proxy *:80> Order deny,allow Allow from all </Proxy> <Location /> Order allow,deny Allow from all </Location> ErrorLog "c:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/logs/exchange.log" CustomLog "c:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/logs/exchange_cust.log" common LogLevel info </VirtualHost> #--------FITNESSE SERVER------- <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName test.mydomain.hu ProxyRequests Off <Proxy *:80> Order deny,allow Allow from all </Proxy> ProxyPass / http://myserver:8004/ ProxyPassReverse / http://myserver:8004/ <Location /> AuthType Basic AuthName "FitNesse" AuthUserFile "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/auth/password" AuthGroupFile "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/auth/pwgroup" require group Users Order allow,deny Allow from all </Location> ErrorLog "c:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/logs/fitnesse.log" CustomLog "c:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/logs/fitnesse_cust.log" common LogLevel info </VirtualHost> #----WIKI SERVER-----(SSL)- <VirtualHost *:80 *:443> ServerName wiki.mydomain.hu ServerAlias wiki.mydomain.hu SSLEngine On SSLCertificateFile "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/cert/certificate.cer" SSLCertificateKeyFile "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/cert/wiki.itkodex.hu.key" ProxyRequests Off <Proxy *:80> Order deny,allow Allow from all </Proxy> ProxyPass / http://localhost:8000/ ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost:8000/ ErrorLog "c:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/logs/wiki.log" CustomLog "c:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/logs/wikicust.log" common LogLevel info </VirtualHost> Because this wiki is a JSPWIKI web application, runs on Apache Tomcat therefore there is no "DocumentRoot" parameter in the VirtualHost. Could anybody please help me, to solve this issue, or what should I modify in the configuration? Thanks in advance! Peter
