• perl regex escape characters

  I have heard perl is a good language at doing regex but i am a bit confused at the characters that requires escaping I tested the code on http://regexlib.com/RETester.aspx and got the result I want //home/dev/abc/code/hello/world.cpp#1 //home/dev/((.*?)/[^/]+).*# Match $1 $2 //home/dev/abc/code/hello/world.cpp# abc/code abc However, I am not quite sure how do i translate this to perl code I tried, \/\/home\/dev\/\(\(\.\*\?\)\/\[\^\/\]\+\)\.\*\# and \/\/home\/dev\/((.*?)\/[^\/]+).*\# and both failed Don't you think the escaping makes the regex very unreadable? Am i using something wrong?

  If I use routing with 2 query parameters, like this: System.Web.Routing.RouteTable.Routes.MapPageRoute("HomeRoute", "home/{f1}/{f2}", "~/Home.aspx"); My image does not appear on my Home.aspx page: <img src="~/img/img.jpg" /> or <img src="img/img.jpg" /> But it does appear when I access the http://localhost:3760/Website/Home.aspx URL I tried using Routing.Ignore with no luck. I look for a solution wich should work for an unlimited number of subfolders: "home/{f1}/{f2}/.../{fn}"

  I have the following SQL: SELECT * FROM [Database].dbo.[TagsPerItem] INNER JOIN [Database].dbo.[Tag] ON [Tag].Id = [TagsPerItem].TagId WHERE [Tag].Name IN ('home', 'car') and it returns: Id TagId ItemId ItemTable Id Name SiteId 1 1 1 Content 1 home 1 2 1 2 Content 1 home 1 3 1 3 Content 1 home 1 4 2 4 Content 2 car 1 5 2 5 Content 2 car 1 6 2 12 Content 2 car 1 instead of just two records, which these names are "home" and "car". How can I fix it? Thanks.

  i decompiled an Android .apk file using dex2jar, grabbed the java source files using jd-gui "File Save All Sources" and got a .zip file and the java files within. I did exactly the steps in this "guide": http://a4apphack.com/security/sec-code/extract-android-apk-from-market-and-decompile-it-to-java-source. Then i made some changes in a couple of the java files, now i am wondering how i can recreate an apk file. Decompiling with apktool, backsmali and smali tools work with .smali files, but now i have .java files...

  If I have the below sudoers entry usera ALL=(userb) NOPASSWD: /home/userc/bin/executable-file usera ALL=(userb) NOPASSWD: /home/userc/bin/link-to-another-executable-file When I log-on as usera and try running the below commands, it works sudo -u userb /home/userc/bin/executable-file but NOT the one below. sudo -u userb /home/userc/bin/link-to-another-executable-file Sorry, user usera is not allowed to execute '/home/userc/bin/link-to-another-executable-file' as userb on hostname. Any ideas?

• Unable to ssh out anywhere - ssh_exchange_identification

  I have a setup where I'm running Ubuntu 11.10 as a VirtualBox guest under a Windows 7 host, behind a restrictive corporate firewall. I have set up NAT from the host port 22 to Ubuntu's port 22; IT inform me that they have opened port 22 outbound for the host machine's IP address. I have run ssh-keygen -t rsa, and am trying to test the setup by connecting to github and another known ssh server. In both cases the connect is refused with ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host. Full -vvv log is below. Is this possibly still due to the corporate firewall? If so, what else might I need to request from them? • Mac OS X roaming profile from Samba with OpenLDAP backend on Ubuntu 11.10

  I have been battling for a week now to get my Mac (Mountain Lion) to authenticate on my home network's OpenLDAP and Samba. From several sources, like the Ubuntu community docs, and other blogs, and after a hell of a lot of trial and error and piecing things together, I have created a samba.ldif that will pass the smbldap-populate when combined with apple.ldif and I have a fully functional OpenLDAP server and a Samba PDC that uses LDAP to authenticate the OS X Machine. The problem is that when I login, the home directory is not created or pulled from the server. Any help is appreciated, because I'm banging my head against the wall at this point. • Easy Profiling Point Insertion

  One really excellent feature of NetBeans IDE is its Profiler. What's especially cool is that you can analyze code fragments, that is, you can right-click in a Java file and then choose Profiling | Insert Profiling Point. When you do that, you're able to analyze code fragments, i.e., from one statement to another statement, e.g., how long a particular piece of code takes to execute: https://netbeans.org/kb/docs/java/profiler-profilingpoints.html However, right-clicking a Java file and then going all the way down a longish list of menu items, to find "Profiling", and then "Insert Profiling Point" is a lot less easy than right-clicking in the sidebar (known as the glyphgutter) and then setting a profiling point in exactly the same way as a breakpoint: That's much easier and more intuitive and makes it far more likely that I'll use the Profiler at all. Once profiling points have been set then, as always, another menu item is added for managing the profiling point: To achieve this, I added the following to the "layer.xml" file: <folder name="Editors"> <folder name="AnnotationTypes"> <file name="profiler.xml" url="profiler.xml"/> <folder name="ProfilerActions"> <file name="org-netbeans-modules-profiler-ppoints-ui-InsertProfilingPointAction.shadow"> <attr name="originalFile" stringvalue="Actions/Profile/org-netbeans-modules-profiler-ppoints-ui-InsertProfilingPointAction.instance"/> <attr name="position" intvalue="300"/> </file> </folder> </folder> </folder> Notice that a "profiler.xml" file is referred to in the above, in the same location as where the "layer.xml" file is found. However, I think that, since I'm already aware that I can't set the Java debugger in an HTML file, I'm also aware that the Java profiler can't be set that way as well.   One unique aspect of the NetBeans community presence at JavaOne 2012 was its usage of large panels to highlight and discuss various aspects (e.g., Java EE, JavaFX, etc) of NetBeans IDE usage and tools. For example, here's a pic of one of the panels, taken by Markus Eisele: Above you see me, Sean Comerford from ESPN.com, Gerrick Bivins from Halliburton, Angelo D'Agnano and Ioannis Kostaras from the NATO Programming Center, and Çagatay Çivici from PrimeFaces. Henry Arousell, a member of the "NetBeans Platform Discussion Panel", who works on accounting software in Sweden, together with Thomas Boqvist, who was also at JavaOne, said, a bit despondently, I thought, the following words at the start of the demo of his very professional looking accounting software: "Well, Swing took a bit of a beating this week..." That remark comes in the light of several JavaFX sessions held at JavaOne, together with many sessions from the web and mobile worlds making the argument that the browser, tablet, and mobile platforms are the future of all applications everywhere. However, then I had another look at the list of Duke's Choice Award winners: http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/press/1854931 OK, there are 10 winners of the Duke's Choice Award this year. Three of them (JDuchess, London Java Community, Student Nokia Developer Group) are not awards for software, but for people or groups. So, that leaves seven awards. Three of them (Hadoop, Jelastic, and Parleys) are, in one way or another, some kind of web-oriented solution, though both Hadoop and Jelastic are broader than that, but are service-oriented solutions, relating to cloud technologies. That leaves four others: NATO air defense software, Liquid Robotics software, AgroSense software, and UNHCR Refugee Registration software. All these are, on the software level, Java desktop solutions that, on the UI layer, make use of Java Swing, together with LuciadMaps (NATO), GeoToolkit (AgroSense), and WorldWind (Liquid Robotics). (And, it went even further than that, i.e., this is not passive usage of Swing but active and motivated: Timon Veenstra, during his AgroSense demo, said "There are far more Swing applications out there than we seem to think. Web developers just make more noise." And, during his Liquid Robotics demo, James Gosling said: "Not everything can be done in HTML.") Seems to me that Java Swing was the enabler of more Duke's Choice Award winners this year than any other UI-oriented Java technology. Now, I'm not going to interpret that one way or another, since I've noticed that interpretations of facts tend to validate some underlying agenda. Take any fact anywhere and you can interpret it to prove whatever opinion you're already holding to be true. Therefore, no interpretation from me. Simply stating the fact that Swing, far from taking a beating during JavaOne 2012, was a more significant user interface enabler of Duke's Choice Award winners than any other Java user interface technology. The Java platform has expanded its reach with the OS X and Linux ARM support on Java SE and with two new releases, Java SE embedded and Java embedded Suite 7.0 middleware platform.  Coming up next year is JDK 8, which will include Project Lambda, Project Nashorn and more. • Diving into Scala with Cay Horstmann

  A new interview with Java Champion Cay Horstmann, now up on otn/java, titled  "Diving into Scala: A Conversation with Java Champion Cay Horstmann," explores Horstmann's ideas about Scala as reflected in his much lauded new book,  Scala for the Impatient.  None other than Martin Odersky, the inventor of Scala, called it "a joy to read" and the "best introduction to Scala". Odersky was so enthused by the book that he asked Horstmann if the first section could be made available as a free download on the Typesafe Website, something Horstmann graciously assented to. Horstmann acknowledges that some aspects of Scala are very complex, but he encourages developers to simply stay away from those parts of the language. He points to several ways Java developers can benefit from Scala: "For example," he says, " you can write classes with less boilerplate, file and XML handling is more concise, and you can replace tedious loops over collections with more elegant constructs. Typically, programmers at this level report that they write about half the number of lines of code in Scala that they would in Java, and that's nothing to sneeze at. Another entry point can be if you want to use a Scala-based framework such as Akka or Play; you can use these with Java, but the Scala API is more enjoyable. " Horstmann observes that developers can do fine with Scala without grasping the theory behind it. He argues that most of us learn best through examples and not through trying to comprehend abstract theories. He also believes that Scala is the most attractive choice for developers who want to move beyond Java and C++.  When asked about other choices, he comments: "Clojure is pretty nice, but I found its Lisp syntax a bit off-putting, and it seems very focused on software transactional memory, which isn't all that useful to me. And it's not statically typed. I wanted to like Groovy, but it really bothers me that the semantics seems under-defined and in flux. And it's not statically typed. Yes, there is Groovy++, but that's in even sketchier shape. There are a couple of contenders such as Kotlin and Ceylon, but so far they aren't real. So, if you want to do work with a statically typed language on the JVM that exists today, Scala is simply the pragmatic choice. It's a good thing that it's such a nice choice." • WebLogic Server 11g with java based node manager stdout/stderr log path configuration.

  Hi, How I can configure the path where the stdout logs are written by the WebLogic server? I've read about -Dweblogic.log.RedirectStdoutToServerLogEnabled=true, but this redirects only part of the output. For example if I will run a thread dump, the output will remain in the original log file. I think it should be an option in nodemanager/startup.properties file. WebLogic version is 10.3.2.0 and I am using a java based node manager. OS is RHEL 5. Thank you, Mircea

• Use Dynamic DNS to access Java servlet, still need port forward ?

  If I use Dynamic DNS such as the free service at https://www.dyndns.com, do I still need to set up static IP and do port forward ? I have a DSL, most likely with dynamic IP address, and I run a Java servlet to get Paypal IPN messages on my notebook, in order for the messages to reach my notebook, I : [1] set up static IP and [2] did port forwarding. But I found each time the PC re-starts, it has a different external IP, so I was suggested to [3] get Dynamic DNS service like the free one mentioned above, but now I'm a bit confused, if I have step [3], do I still need to do [1] and [2], isn't step [3] supposed to do [1] and [2] for me ? But since I've already done [1],[2], now I wonder if they would cause trouble for step [3], do I need to undo them ? Or do I need all of them together ?

• Website with large number of users keeps going down due to memory leaks:Tomcat6 and Java 6

  We host many websites on one of our two virtual servers. We use tomcat 6 and Java 6. It is an MVC model with a hibernate like layer. The problem is, one of our biggest clients with the most number of members, keeps crashing the server every 6-8 hours(precisely in the mornings when most members login) We have been having this issue for 4 days now. Trying to figure out the problem but we suspect memory leaks. Any suggestions?

• Which WordPress plugin adds support for Java syntax highlighting? [closed]

  In wordpress.com-hosted blogs syntax highlighting is working, but on a newly privately installed WordPress blog it is not. So I assume there is a plugin for this. I tried wp-syntax and bbcode plugins - no success. So, which is this plugin, that allows programming language code to be highlighted: [code language="Java"] public class SomeClass {..} [/code] Update: I'm talking about the WordPress software, not the wordpress.com service. I was just giving an example (wordpress.com) of what is to be achieved.
