  • Nullable Integer ? (working with linq)

    - by nCdy
I've got exception about convert NULL to Int32. I've got a table from database with nullable tinyint [Column(Storage="_StatType", DbType="tinyint NULL")] public StatType : int { get { _StatType; } } (to get C# code just replace variable's type) and after making linq select def StartLinq = linq <#from lpi in _CfgListParIzm where lpi.ID_ListParIzm==drr1 select (lpi.StatType) #> ; StartLinq.ToArray()[0] can't be readed if that is null :-/ mutable STT : int = 0; try { _=int.TryParse(StartLinq.ToArray()[0].ToString(), out STT); } catch { | _ is Exception => () /* I don't care*/ } upper code is very poor trick :( I wont use it.

  • ObjectDataSource.Select with Parameters Time Out

    - by MasterMax1313
I'm using an ObjectDataSource with a 2008 ReportViewer control and Linq to CSV. The ODS has two parameters (the SQL is spelled out in an XSD file with a table adapter). The Reportviewer takes a very long time to render the output after a button is clicked to generate the report. That's my first problem. Even though it works (most of the time), the processing time worries me, and subsequent requests don't seem to be changing the results shown on the screen. The next issue is that when I go to export the ODS to CSV I'm getting a time out exception on the select method of the ODS (shown below). This works for ODS without parameters, but it seems like now that I've added parameters that it doesn't want to cooperate. I'm fresh out of ideas, any thoughts? <asp:ObjectDataSource ID="obsGetDataAllCustomers" runat="server" SelectMethod="GetDataAllCustomers" TypeName="my.myAdapter.AllCustomers" OldValuesParameterFormatString="original_{0}" > <SelectParameters> <asp:ControlParameter ControlID="StartDate" Name="Start" PropertyName="Text" Type="DateTime" /> <asp:ControlParameter ControlID="EndDate" Name="_End" PropertyName="Text" Type="DateTime" /> </SelectParameters> </asp:ObjectDataSource> After button click to view report - rvAllCustomers.LocalReport.Refresh() Export to CSV (adding the items returned to a list which is then processed by working code) - For Each dr As DataRow In CType(obs.Select(), DataView).Table.Rows l.Add(New FullOrderOutput(dr)) Next

  • LINQ: Create persistable Associations in Code, Without Foreign Key

    - by Alex
Hello, I know that I can create LINQ Associations without a Foreign Key. The problem is, I've been doing this by adding the [Association] attribute in the DBML file (same as through the designer), which will get erased again after I refresh my database (and reload the entire table structure). I know that there is the MyData.cs file (as part of the DBML) in which I can place my partial extensions etc. to domain objects (to persist even after I refresh the DBML), but I don't know how to create an association there?

  • Can I use loops in repeater? Is it reccomended?

    - by iTayb
My datasource has an Rating dataItem contains an integer from 0 to 5. I'd like to print stars accordignly. I'm trying to do it within Repeater control: <b>Rating:</b> <% for (int j = 1; j <= DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Rating"); j++) { %> <img src="App_Pics/fullstar.png" /> <% } for (int j = 1; j <= 5 - DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Rating"); j++) { %> <img src="App_Pics/emptystar.png" /> <%} %> I get the error The name 'Container' does not exist in the current context. It is weird, because when I used <%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Name")%> a line before, it worked great. Is it clever to include loops in my aspx page? I think it's not very convenient. What's my alternatives? What's that # means? Thank you very much.

  • FluentMigrator tutorials

    - by Paja
Are there any tutorials for FluentMigrator? Some "Getting Started..." tutorial would be just awesome. All I was able to find was FluentMigrator.Tests (unit tests), inside FluentMigrator source, which are not as helpful as "Getting Started..." would be.

  • Why cant partial methods be public if the implementation is in the same assembly?

    - by Simon
According to this http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/wa80x488.aspx "Partial methods are implicitly private" So you can have this // Definition in file1.cs partial void Method1(); // Implementation in file2.cs partial void Method1() { // method body } But you cant have this // Definition in file1.cs public partial void Method1(); // Implementation in file2.cs public partial void Method1() { // method body } But why is this? Is there some reason the compiler cant handle public partial methods?

  • StructureMap: How to register the same instance for all its interfaces

    - by George Mauer
StructureMap newbie question. public class SomeClass: IInterface1, IInterface2 { } I would like the following test to pass: Assert.AreSameInstance( container.GetInstance<IInterface1>(), container.GetInstance<IInterface2>()); How would I do an explicit registration of this? I know in Castle Windsor I would do something like kernel.Register(Component.For(typeof(IInterface1), typeof(IInterface2)) .ImplementedBy(typeof(SomeClass)); But I don't see any equivalent API

  • Interface and partial classes

    - by Tomek Tarczynski
According to rule SA1201 in StyleCop elements in class must appear in correct order. The order is following: Fields Constructors Finalizers (Destructors) Delegates Events Enums Interfaces Properties Indexers Methods Structs Classes Everything is ok, except of Interfaces part, because Interface can contain mehtods, events, properties etc... If we want to be strict about this rule then we won't have all members of Interface in one place which is often very useful. According to StyleCop help this problem can be solved by spliting class into partial classes. Example: /// <summary> /// Represents a customer of the system. /// </summary> public partial class Customer { // Contains the main functionality of the class. } /// <content> /// Implements the ICollection class. /// </content> public partial class Customer : ICollection { public int Count { get { return this.count; } } public bool IsSynchronized { get { return false; } } public object SyncRoot { get { return null; } } public void CopyTo(Array array, int index) { throw new NotImplementedException(); } } Are there any other good solutions to this problem?

  • adding header row to gridview won't allow you to save the last item row

    - by Lex
I've modified my GridView to have an extra Header row, however that extra row has caused my grid view row count to be incorrect. Basically, when I want to save the Gridview now, it doesn't recognize the last item line. In my current test I have 5 Item Lines, however only 4 of them are being saved. My code for creating the additional header Line: protected void gvStatusReport_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { // This grid has multiple rows, fake the top row. if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.Header) { SortedList FormatCells = new SortedList(); FormatCells.Add("1", ",6,1"); FormatCells.Add("2", "Time Spent,7,1"); FormatCells.Add("3", "Total,2,1"); FormatCells.Add("4", ",6,1"); GetMultiRowHeader(e, FormatCells); } } The function to create a new row: public void GetMultiRowHeader(GridViewRowEventArgs e, SortedList GetCels) { GridViewRow row; IDictionaryEnumerator enumCels = GetCels.GetEnumerator(); row = new GridViewRow(-1, -1, DataControlRowType.Header, DataControlRowState.Normal); while (enumCels.MoveNext()) { string[] count = enumCels.Value.ToString().Split(Convert.ToChar(",")); TableCell cell = new TableCell(); cell.RowSpan = Convert.ToInt16(count[2].ToString()); cell.ColumnSpan = Convert.ToInt16(count[1].ToString()); cell.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl(count[0].ToString())); cell.HorizontalAlign = HorizontalAlign.Center; row.Cells.Add(cell); } e.Row.Parent.Controls.AddAt(0, row); } Then when I'm going to save, I loop through the rows: int totalRows = gvStatusReport.Rows.Count; for (int rowNumber = 0; rowNumber < totalRows; rowNumber++) { However the first line doesn't seem to have any of the columns that the item row has, and the last line doesn't even show up. My problem is that I do need the extra header line, but what is the best way to fix this?

  • Reference platform specific System.Data.SQLite

    - by Dmitriy Nagirnyak
I am using SQLite for the unit testing and might use it as a database for local development/staging. The System.Data.SQLite has basically 2 versions: x86 and x64. Correct one should be used for the specific platform. I have 64 bit Win7, other guys in the team might use 32-bit OSs. The server's platform is not known at this stage. If I use 32-bit version of the assembly on 64-bit platform I get BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.SQLite'. I believe similar will happen trying to use 64-bit assembly on 32-bit platform. So my question is what is the best way to reference the SQLite assembly so that it does not depend on the platform and people can just use it? It is ok to use 32-bit version of assembly on a 64-bit platform (Maybe there is a switch for that somewhere?).

  • How can I create a dynamic LINQ query in C# with possible multiple group by clauses?

    - by FordPrefect141
I have been a programmer for some years now but I am a newcomer to LINQ and C# so forgive me if my question sounds particularly stupid. I hope someone may be able to point me in the right direction. My task is to come up with the ability to form a dynamic multiple group by linq query within a c# script using a generic list as a source. For example, say I have a list containing multiple items with the following structure: FieldChar1 - character FieldChar2 - character FieldChar3 - character FieldNum1 - numeric FieldNum2 - numeric In a nutshell I want to be able to create a LINQ query that will sum FieldNum1 and FieldNum2 grouped by any one, two or all three of the FieldChar fields that will be decided at runtime depending on the users requirements as well as selecting the FieldChar fields in the same query. I have the dynamic.cs in my project which icludes a GroupByMany extension method but I have to admit I am really not sure how to put these to use. I am able to get the desired results if I use a query with hard-wired group by requests but not dynamically. Apologies for any erroneous nomenclature, I am new to this language but any advice would be most welcome. Many thanks Alex

  • Caching and cache invalidation in user controls?

    - by Rishabh Ohri
HI, In our .aspx pages we have many user controls. each user control executes a sql query. The caching mechanism to be followed is to fragment cache each user control on the page and add the query dependency to the respective queries of the user controls. How to achieve query dependency on fragment cached data for invalidation?

  • How to disable listbox's click event

    - by StupidDeveloper
I have a listbox which acts as a list of items. If you click on some item, it's contents are shown in the panel on the right (few textboxes etc.). I need to have a validation on these controls as all of them are required fields. And I do have it. The problem is that, even when the validators are not valid, user can click the listbox and change active index (that doesn't have impact on the panel on the right, as SelectedIndexChanged isn't fired). The validators are standard RequiredFieldValidator with their Display property set to "Dynamic". So, what I want is to disallow the user clicking on the listbox and changing the index untill all validators are Valid. What would be your solution for that? Is that even possible?

  • How to bind data from a view of type List<List<MyViewModelClass>>?

    - by Robert Koritnik
    I have a strong type view of type List<List<MyViewModelClass>> The outer list will always have two lists of List<MyViewModelClass>. For each of the two outer lists I want to display a group of checkboxes. Each set can have an arbitrary number of choices. My view model class looks similar to this: public class MyViewModelClass { public Area Area { get; set; } public bool IsGeneric { get; set; } public string Code { get; set; } public bool IsChecked { get; set; } } So the final view will look something like: Please select those that apply: First set of choices: x Option 1 x Option 2 x Option 3 etc. Second set of choices: x Second Option 1 x Second Option 2 x Second Option 3 x Second Option 4 etc. Checkboxes should display MyViewModelClass.Area.Name, and their value should be related to MyViewModelClass.Area.Id. Checked state is of course related to MyViewModel.IsChecked. Question I wonder how should I use Html.CheckBox() or Html.CheckBoxFor() helper to display my checkboxes? I have to get these values back to the server on a postback of course. If it makes things simpler, I could make a separate view model type like: public class Options { public List<MyViewModelClass> General { get; set; } public List<MyViewModelClass> Others { get; set; } }
