• Auto-create ManagedBean problem

  I need to instanciate a ManagedBean manually in jsp code. I used the following code : FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(); ActorBean bean = (ActorBean) context.getApplication().createValueBinding("#{actorBean}").getValue(context); response.getWriter().print(bean.getChaine()); but I still get a NullPointerException ! :( Any suggestion please.   As of Silverlight 4 it is possible to data bind against a DependencyObject (instead of a Framework element in previous versions). So far so good, but how do I bind agains a collection of DependencyObjects. The DataContext is not passed from the ObservableCollection to the collection elements, so that the DependencyProperties of the DependencyObjects are never called (neither the changed events). Neither the DependencyObject offers SetBinding or DataContext to initialize the binding manually. Thanks for any advice here.

  Hey all.. I noticed that an application I am maintaining was giving me a javascript error in IE8 and FF. The script was trying to get a collection of frame elements: document.frames This always returned 'undefined'. I placed a watch on the document object and noticed that this collection does not seem to be a member of the document object in IE8. I think this was always the case in FF but this same code works in older versions of IE. Has this been removed? -Nick

I am using the following to attempt to preform the filter: orders = MasterOrders.Where("account", mbrAccount).Load(); The end results is setting orders equal to the entire MasterOrders collection and not the filtered results. Any suggestions?

  I have significant garbage collection pauses. I'd like to pinpoint the objects most responsible for this collection before I try to fix the problem. I've looked at the heap snapshot on Chrome, but (correct me if I am wrong) I cannot seem to find any indicator of what is being collected, only what is taking up the most memory.
