I don't know what's wrong because I'm just trying to assign a string variable to a string value. Anyone figures out the reason of the error? Please help and thanks.

  A php script is giving this array (which has been passed through json_encode()) [{name:"a1",path:"b1"},{name:"a2",path:"b2"}] I use the following function to retrieve the array to jquery: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "functions.php", data: "action=" + something, cache: false, success: function(response) { alert(response); } }); The problem is I get the array back as a string: (new String("[{name:"a1",path:"b1"},{name:"a2",path:"b2"}}]")) How can I get it to be a javascript array? • Getting the most frequent items without counting every item

  Hi. I was wondering if there was an algorithm for counting "most frequent items" without having to keep a count of each item? For example, let's say I was a search engine and wanted to keep track of the 10 most popular searches. What I don't want to do is keep a counter of every query since there could be too many queries for me to count (and most them will be singletons). Is there a simple algorithm for this? Maybe something that is probabilistic? Thanks!

• Getting 404 in Android app while trying to get xml from localhost

  This must be something really stupid, trying to solve this issue for a couple of days now and it's really not working. I searched everywhere and there probably is someone with the same problem, but I can't seem to find it. I'm working on an Android app and this app pulls some xml from a website. Since this website is down a lot, I decided to save it and run it locally. Now what I did; - I downloaded the kWs app for hosting the downloaded xml file - I put the file in the right directory and could access it through the mobile browser, but not with my app (same code as I used with pulling it from some other website, not hosted by me, only difference was the URL obviously) So I tried to host it on my PC and access it with my app from there. Again the same results, the mobile browsers had no problem finding it, but the app kept saying 404 Not Found: "The requested URL /test.xml&parama=Someone&paramb= was not found on this server." Note: Don't mind the 2 parameters I am sending, I needed that to get the right stuff from the website that wasn't hosted by me. • Attaching a function to the parent window from an iframe and getting proper scope

  I working on adding file uploading to my web application. I'm using an iframe to post my upload. When my php script processes the upload it writes some JavaScript to the iframe. This JavaScript is attempting to attach a function to the parent, this works, but when this function actually gets called it doesn't have the correct scope. Having only one website structured, and having variables like $sql="select * from main_".$countrycode." where bla..bla..., and many other variables to catch the domain extension, and so on... Now, instead of having one full website for each domain, how can set a script and wher do I put it in order to detect the domain that the user uses. In my server root do I create something like website.$domain ? Something like website OLX but for different purposes. I hope I made myself clear. Thank you.

  Given an instance of a class, we can obviously return its name: trait MixedInClassDiscovery { val className = this.getClass.getName } class AClass extends MixedInClassDiscovery { ... this.className // returns "AClass" ... } But this way uses reflection, once for every instance of AClass. Can the same be done once for every class, instead? One solution which comes to mind is to mix it into companion objects instead of classes themselves.

• Why is my program getting slower and slower ?

  I'm using the program to send data from database to the Excel file . It works fine at the beginning and then becomes more and more slowly,finally it run out of the memory and the following error ocurrs: "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space...". The problem can be resolved by adding the jvm heap sapce.But the question is that it spends too much time to run out the program. After several minutes,it finished a loop with 4 seconds which can be finished with 0.5 seconds at the beginning . I can't found a solution to make it always run in a certain speed. Is it my code problem? Any clues on this?   I need to knowingly isolate each row of the vCard and get its value. For instance, I want to get "5555" from X-CUSTOMFIELD. So far, my thoughts are: "X-CUSTOMFIELD;\d+" I have been looking at some tutorials and I am a little confused with what function to use? What would my regex above return? Would it give me the whole line or just the numerical part (5555)? I was thinking I i get the whole row, I can use substring to get the digits? • Getting counts of 0 from a query with a double group by

  I'm trying to write a query that gets the counts for a table (call it item) categorized by two different things, call them type and code. What I'm hoping for as output is the following: Type Code Count 1 A 3 1 B 0 1 C 10 2 A 0 2 B 13 2 C 2 And so forth. Both type and code are found in lookup tables, and each item can have just one type but more than one code, so there's also a pivot (aka junction or join) table for the codes. I have a query that can get this result: Type Code Count 1 A 3 1 C 10 2 B 13 2 C 2 and it looks like (with join conditions omitted): SELECT typelookup.name, codelookup.name, COUNT(item.id) FROM typelookup LEFT OUTER JOIN item JOIN itemcodepivot RIGHT OUTER JOIN codelookup GROUP BY typelookup.name, codelookup.name Is there any way to alter this query to get the results I'm looking for? This is in MySQL, if that matters. I'm not actually sure this is possible all in one query, but if it is I'd really like to know how. Thanks for any ideas.

• Getting 0x80131902 when calling COM+ component

  I created a COM+ component in .Net. It needs to use a configuration file, so I've created a directory with an application.manifest and application.config file and set that as the Application Root Directory. Now when I try to create an instance of that object, I get the following HRESULT: 0x80131902. I can't seem to find exactly what this means, except that there is a problem loading the app-domain. If I don't set the Application Root Directory, it loads just fine (but doesn't have access to the config).

  I am experimenting with scraping certain pages from an RSS feed using curl and php. The page scraping was working fine when I was just using actual links, not links from the rss feeds. However, I realize now that links in rss feeds are usually just redirects to the actual page (at least this is what it seems like). Because now when I scrape a page with the rss link, it doesn't actually get the information I am looking for. Has anyone encountered this and know of a workaround. Is there anyway to see where the rss link is redirecting to and capturing that value?

• My Rails session is getting reset when I have concurrent requests

  I think I might be misunderstanding something about Rails sessions, so please bear with me, I might not be phrasing my question the best way. I'm working on an iPhone app with a Ruby on Rails backend. I have a web view which by default goes to the index action of one controller (and uses sessions), and in the background a bunch of API calls going to a different controller (and which don't need to use sessions). The problem is, the sessions set by my web view seem to be overwitten by the API calls. My staging server is pretty slow, so there's lots of time for the requests to overlap each other - what I see in the logs is basically this: Request A (first controller) starts. Session is empty. Request B (second controller) starts. Session is empty. Request A finishes. Request A has done authentication, and stored the user ID in the session. Session contains user ID. Request B finishes. Session is empty. Request C starts. Session is empty - not what I want. Now, the strange thing is that request B should NOT be writing anything to the session. I do have before and after filters which READ from the session - things like: user = User.find_by_id(session[:id]) or logger.debug session.inspect and if I remove all of those, then everything works as expected - session contents get set by request A, and they're still there when request C starts. So. I think I'm missing something about how sessions work. Why would reading from the session overwrite it? Should I be accessing it some other way? Am I completely on the wrong track and the problem is elsewhere? Thank you for any insights!

• Getting all pdf files from a domain (for example *.adomain.com)

  I need to download all pdf files from a certain domain. There are about 6000 pdf on that domain and most of them don't have an html link (either they have removed the link or they never put one in the first place). I know there are about 6000 files because I'm googling: filetype:pdf site:*.adomain.com However, Google lists only the first 1000 results. I believe there are two ways to achieve this: a) Use Google. However, how I can get all 6000 results from Google? Maybe a scraper? (tried scroogle, no luck) b) Skip Google and search directly on domain for pdf files. How do I do that when most them are not linked?
